I drove from San tan Valley for a 12:30 pm appointment. I arrived at 12:15 pm so I could get paperwork done before my appointment per their request. At 12:45 pm I still was not being seen so I asked the front desk how long it would be. She said the doctor just started another appointment and there was another person before me. So I said "so an hour behind schedule"? And she said yes I guess so. She asked if I wanted to reschedule after I had driven over 40 minutes to get there. I refused. I will never use this business again. They run over one hour behind schedule. No thanks! read more

I had a mishap last year here at Eye Care Professionals. This year, with VSP insurance, I went back. My first pair of glasses was with all the bells and whistles, and I used a set of old frames for $274. I went back and they told me my would be ready in a week. I picked them up (and yes, with old frames). The bill was $450. Really? I will never use these crooks again. I am so mad! Stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Friday 9/18/2020.....I had an eye appointment this morning at Eye Care Professional's for my yearly exam with Dr. Joe Reitano. After a very thorough exam Dr. Joe asked me if the glasses I were wearing if I purchased them from him and I said no that I bought them online. Then he proceeded to go on about the Covid situation and how he was able to keep his staff working during that time but if all his patients bought their glasses online he would have to fire his staff. At that point he proceeds to tell me that he was going to release me as his patient because I buy my glasses online. Needless to say I was at a loss for words couldn't believe he actually said that to me. Now mind you then he makes the comment dont get me wrong I am all for shopping online. Well I guess he meant all except for glasses. Sorry I won't pay his ridiculous prices when I can get mine online and buy several pairs and still not spend what I would pay for one pair at his office. So if you are a patient of either Dr Joe or Dr. Heidi at Eye Care professionals you may be released as a patient if you purchase your glasses online. This is MY VERY FIRST VISIT and it has been HORRIBLE! I had an exam and ordered glasses. I was told it would take 7 - 10 business days for me to get them. I received a phone call 9 days later saying my insurance won't pay for the frames. I told them "that's all right, I will pay for the frames." Two and a half weeks later, I receive a call saying my glasses are ready! I went and picked them up on a Saturday (their hours conflict with my work schedule during the week, so I can go only Saturdays.) My glasses looked beautiful! I got $25 off for the DELAY of my glasses by a manager I did not get introduced to or even SEE in the back office...While driving home, I noticed during the transition in the sun that there were two big SCRIBBLES in the left-lense...SERIOUSLY!? I'm thinking: I didn't do that! I haven't even cleaned them yet! I immediately called the office and left a message. (I was leaving to go to Ohio for a funeral early the very next morning.) When I FINALLY returned the glasses (two Saturdays later), I am told that the glasses are defective! It took ANOTHER TEN DAYS for my glasses to be ready! I asked the employee to speak with a manager and I was told that one is not available on Saturdays. The employee took a message for the female manager to call me on Monday. (I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED A PHONE CALL & it has been OVER A MONTH!) This is THEE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This is a great practice! Front office is kind, knowledgeable and efficient. Dr. Heidi did my first exam and was right on time and very thorough. She was a little concerned about a couple things and wanted me to return for a follow up exam. Dr Joe did the follow up exam. Their equipment is top-notch and Dr Joe did a wonderful job of explaining the findings. He made sure I understood their concern and set the plan for future exams and monitoring. I think the doctors here are very good. I'm glad the office has a line of affordable frames now making their pricing almost as good as Costco. I was surprised to be charged $40 for refraction. I was told this is no covered by United Healthcare. Don't all eye exams include refraction? I will have to check around with other optometrists in my area to see how they handle this. read more

I had a very good experience the last two visits to ECP. There was no pressure to fill my prescription there at the store, and they gave me a written prescription without me even asking. I found everyone very friendly and helpful. Two years ago, my last visit, I chose to have my prescription filed elsewhere, however this tone in giving them that business as well. My husband and I both had very bad experiences here. My appointment time was 7:30am. I was seen by the optometrist at 8:25. My husband's appointment was at 2:00pm. He got up and left their office at 2:45pm. They called him 5 minutes later saying, "We weren't done with your appointment." They didn't know he had never been called back? He was the only one in the waiting room. And what I did not expect was the optometrist to try to guilt me into buying a pair of glasses from them because "we wouldn't stay in business if people only came in for exams."It is not my problem if your business model does not work well with the current economy. I should not be given a guilt trip by the optometrist because I would rather spend less than half of what they would charge me for glasses somewhere else. Why would I pay $10 for a gallon of milk at one store if I can get it for $5 at another? I wouldn't. read more

I've been going here for about 6 years so comparably of my review is a little low. But I have to say their selection of eye wear had been beautiful. Marc Jacobs , DY , Calvin , and sport effective wear. They have it. I like their doctors also all of them are amazing and funny. Nice location , new shop also . of course check with your insurance and if you don't may have to go cheaper location .the service is great for everything except one area, phone calls, and telling you your glasses are ready. 6/years not once have I got a call before I had to call and also I've been placed on hold way to long 25 minutes before the phone just disconnected , phone game is low. With Eye Care Professionals I see a real added value above and beyond just getting my prescription filled. I have seen both Dr. Heidi and Dr. Joe. I had the greatest experience! Polite, professional, knowledgeable and the MOST thorough exam I have EVER had. Danielle, my tech (or whatever they're called:) was quick, easy to deal with, explained everything and FUN! Dr. Reitano was amazing. Truly. He was interested in my history to make any connection with my current issues, explained how these issues come about, wanted to know exactly the evolution of my issue (I wear a prism), and explained it from all angles. I don't know how common or uncommon what I have is, so I was stressed out (after all, it's my EYES!!), and he could not have been more kind and warm! Dr. Reitano is the BEST optometrist I have ever had and I have been wearing glasses for many years so I have seen more than a few. He is so caring and so thorough and never makes you feel rushed, it is very obvious that he loves what he does and cares about his patients. I have had so many other optometrists who try to rush through the tedious process of choosing which lens is clearer but Dr. Reitano took all the time I needed so that I got the perfect prescription the first time. It is not surprising that he sometimes can run a little late because he is so very thorough and takes all the time you need so that you get the perfect prescription and get all of your questions and concerns addressed. I have been coming here for 6 years and would not go anywhere alse despite the fact I now have a 45 minute drive to get here, he is absolutely worth it! I had a great experience here! The front desk staff was extremely sweet and helpful, as was the assistant administering all my tests. The doctor was caring and kind and very thorough! I have RA so I have to get special tests done every year because of the medications I'm taking. He explained things to me that no other eye doctor ever had before! They also have state of the art equipment and were able to perform all the tests right there on site, which also I'd never encountered before.
