We will never go to insight eyewear again. Customer service is so horrible it's unreal. Went into an appointment March 25th and received all but one pair of sunglasses 2 weeks later. Called multiple times for the staff to tell me that they take longer to be made. Come to find out after the 3rd call that they needed to be remade since they didn't pass inspection.I get a text that they will be shipping on or before the 29th and that they will follow up with me as soon as they get updates. It is May 11th so I call back to see where they are at since I was told they would be expedited. Guess what the sunglasses were there for over a week and the front desk staff told me I opted out of text, which is a lie. If you want over priced glasses and them to take forever to get to you plus horrible customer service this is the place for you! read more

Great experience with Insight! They are great keeping a list if a cancellation occurs. This morning, I got a text to grab an appointment from someone who cancelled, and saw Dr. Ulrich. He was absolutely awesome! He is knowledgeable, patient and explains everything! Then, Raphael was my guy who literally walked all around the store looking for glasses that would be perfect for me! He was so detailed and thorough, and also very personable through the whole experience. I should also mention that the three ladies behind the desk when I arrived were also so friendly, as was the technician who tested my eyes - she was great! Insight Eyecare and Eyewear has an amazing staff. They don't treat the patient as a burden who they need to take through a process. Instead, they treat their patients with respect and cheerfulness. Dr. Ulrich is wonderful. My husband I have been going to him for some years now and he's always efficient, caring, listens with attention to our needs, and offers what he thinks is best for our vision. I'm surprised that I've not previously reviewed Insight. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Heetland for a number of years and have been very pleased with our experiences. The office staff is also great! Everyone is personable and focused on your eye health and comfort. My husband is a creature of habit so gets the same frames every year where I need to look and try on nearly every pair to see what my next look will be. Neither of us is made to feel bad or awkward for that - they are understanding and there to support. The Insight people are very nice and quite helpful, especially with respect to the exam. I've never had quite this clarity with my glasses as a result of other eye exams. I was running late and I called to make sure they would still see me, the girl on the phone said yes and gave me a time frame that I was able to still be seen, which I appreciated. I have had nothing but the best customer service and frame options at this facility. They're always willing to help when my puppy destroys my glasses and when I need help selecting new frames. The repair lady is a magician basically. She's fixed so many of my glasses that were bent up beyond repair and their overall front desk is always so kind. I come from several generations of optometrists, so I do have some basis of comparison when reviewing Insight Eyecare & Eyewear. My relatives would be blown away by the professionalism of all the staff members, from the front desk to the optician to Dr Heetland, and by the technology employed in the exam itself. I personally dislike having my eyes dilated and found the Opti-Scan option of great benefit. I also like how the image of the scan allows the doctor to compare one exam to another in subsequent years, without relying on subjective memories of what he observed during the dilated exam. I was having trouble with my near vision and found the exam to employ fine tuning aspects I have never encountered before. The showroom of frames itself is a thing of beauty--so many styles to choose from should you order glasses after your exam! The only drawback was the length of time it took to receive my glasses--a couple days shy of a month! For me, this was unacceptable as I'd already been having problems seeing close up. In fairness, Dr. Heetland did compensate me for the inconvenience. However, I am accustomed to receiving glasses from an optometrist within a week to 10 days max. I found this practice via Yelp reviews for "Best Optometrist." In them, others had criticized the length of time for receiving their glasses, but I was assured those cases were anomalies. Given my recent experience, I'm not sure they were. I do hope Insight is able to resolve this particular issue. It's the only thing that keeps me from rating the practice five stars. read more

Overall I had a great experience. The doctor was patient with me and really went out of his way to make sure that my vision was as good as it could be. After an exaustive exam, I ended up with 2 perscriptions; 1 for distance, 1 for close up. I work on a computer all day (and most nights), so the doctor thought a bifocal solution was not the best for me at this time. Out front, the optician up front was very nice and extremely knowledgeable, making sure that I got the best lenses for the purpose they would be used for. Unfortuneately, the lenses order where the wrong prescription (I wanted to get my 'indoor' perscription filled first) and I hope to get it corrected soon. read more

I am revising this review, as Dr. Heetland and his staff have resolved all of the issues I brought up. That is good business!! Thank you Dr. Heetland and office staff!! We are staying here because of Dr. Heetland's expertise and because he takes care of his patients. Not sure what's going on with this place, maybe a new office manager? In the last month or two, they have 1) given us inconsistent information about our dates for using our eye insurances, 2) sent out multiple emails & texts about our children needing eye appointments, with completely incorrect dates, 3) did not update our address in their system and sent our children's contact orders (hundreds of dollars worth) to a previous address, and 4) also charged us $35 for a "missed" appointment which we had canceled via a voice mail left on a day when they were closed. I'm ready to move doctors, even though we really like Dr. Heetland. read more

Dr. Heetland and his tech staff employ the latest techniques to ensure critical review of eye health and precise dioptic corrections. The optomap digital imaging scan provides a non dilation alternative to eye health assessment and Dr. Heetland is very thorough explaining what the images reveal. The eyewear collection covers a broad range of boutique frame styles. If it's not in store, the staff will get a pair for you to evaluate. Their state of the art progressive pin point fitting helps ensure focus points are as expected. Overall, my experience was richly rewarding. Would gladly come here again and recommend this office to anyone else. From the moment I walked in, was greeted by a friendly staff offering me something to drink or just a water. Nice change from other places I've been in the past. Dr Heetland was excellent. Very knowledgeable and explained everything; not only in a manner easy to understand, but what would be the best for me for what I was hoping to accomplish. Went through pros and cons of various lenses before offering his recommendations. The other aspect that I absolutely enjoyed was upon finishing his exam he had the eye glass consultant greet me in the room. Love it even more!! I went in for a routine eye exam and the Dr. found some filaments on my eyes. Over the course of two months he had me come back three times to check on my eyes before letting me back into contacts. What awesome care!! He didn't say, oh well this should get better soon. I'm a patient who recently reordered my contacts prescription, and the people at Insight (I believe the person helping me was Karina?) made it super easy and helpful. We ran into some hiccups with my order because of some issues with the delivery, but that was not their problem at all - they offered to retry the delivery and were incredibly communicative! Lenny and I (wife) have been going to Insight Eyecare for four or five years. Dr. Heetland and all the staff take exceptional care of both of us. Ernesto was great but is now gone. The last year or so we have been seeing Mirna while ordering glasses, fitment, adjustments etc. She is a sweetheart and a shining light for any business. Do everything you can to keep her Dr. Heetland. Insight's selection of glasses is above average and one of the reasons we switched from a competitor further up the street. I noted another review that mentioned long wait times to get glasses. I believe these are cases that are not the fault of Insight and the responsibility of the folks that produce the lenses. Lenny took his Tom Fords back within the warrantee period with scratches in the right lense. They were sent off to have new lenses made (under warrantee). This took three weeks, which he thought was longer than usual, the reason----the lense maker put a nick in the frame and Mirna sent them back as being unacceptable. He got new lenses and frames!! Thank you Mirna!!! Want quick turnaround for glasses? Get Maui Jim glasses, they are "in house" and grind their lenses, I got mine in four days. New patient forms can be filled out online and submitted electronically , which I loved! The doctor is patient and knowledgeable. The staff is friendly and doesn't push any unnecessary tests or supplies. I have been to many eye doctors in the area and this is the best practice by far. The facility is very modern, clean, & nice. Dr. Heetland was very courteous and made sure all my questions about my eye health were answered. The only downfall is the follow up process for my glasses. I understand that it takes abt 7 to 10 business days for the glasses to complete. I called in on the 8th day at around 4pm just to get a status update as i am so eager to get a hold of my new eyewear and i was told by the woman who answered the phone (i will not name any individual) she was going to call me back shortly after she calls the lab. However, i never got a call back from her or anyone from the office. I called back the following day past 4:30pm to check on the status once again. This time another individual called the lab while she put me on hold which i didn't mind just so i can get an answer or status update. I was told that the glasses should be in on Monday 10/13 (i'm hopeful). I think their follow up process with customers leaves a lot to be desired. Not so much with Dr. Heetland, but with the front staff's customer service may need greater improvement. Thank you 10/13/14 review update: My glasses arrived today and was able to pick them up. I had gone here for a few years and then moved further away, so I changed eye care facilities. After going to the other eye care facility for about 2 years, arguing with them on how my vision just wasn't quite right (my vision after Lasik surgery was mono vision) and going through contacts that continued to rip, I decided to go back to Insight Eye. I am so happy that I did. The contacts that the other facility had me wear, weren't helping my astigmatism, which was why my vision just wasn't as sharp as it could have been. The doctor worked with me and we tried numerous contacts (brands, fits, strengths), until we found what worked for me. According to Yelp, Insight may be pricey, but I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for. I feel I wasted the past few years just 'getting by' and convincing myself that my vision was as good as it was going to be. I'm glad to be back. Thank you! read more
