I wish I could give 1 million stars! I have been contending with bouts of inflammatory keratitis…read moresince 2019 and have been under Dr. Cervantes' care since the start. I had been doing well for over a year with no flare-ups, but this weekend, I developed a pretty severe case. Of course, the symptoms didn't manifest until Saturday morning, and I had an event on Sunday that I really did not want to miss. Fortunately, Dr. Cervantes was on call for the practice. I called the answering service and immediately received a callback. Dr. Cervantes could have easily told me to go to the ER and follow up with him on Monday. But he didn't. He met me at the office on both Saturday and Sunday and treated me in person. I was able to attend and enjoy my event on Sunday. Dr. Cervantes is a truly caring doctor. The office staff is equally as wonderful and got me in again on Monday to make sure we were headed in the right direction. I am truly grateful for the wonderful care I have received from Dr. Cervantes and his staff, and I cannot recommend Connecticut Eye Specialists highly enough!

His explanation of the process for cataract surgery eliminated any fears I had and actually made me excited to start the process for both eyes. Since I also have astigmatism and have worn contacts for 50 years I was apprehensive about my vision post-surgery. I was delighted with both the process and the results. He is a truly awesome eye surgeon! His staff is competent, efficient and caring as well. I am thrilled with the results and my vision has never been so perfect!

The first one was an authorization to keep a card on file so they can charge any balances automatically up to $1500. I told the receptionist that I would not be doing this since I have been a victim of identity theft. The tablet will not let you decline without logging out so she spoke to a supervisor and they said they would not see me without the authorization to keep a card on file, so I left. When I asked her why my husband didn't need to authorize automatic charges to a card when he had an appointment six days ago, I was told the policy went into effect two days ago. I called two other local eye doctor offices and neither of them keep patient's cards on file so I made an appointment with one of them instead.

Four (4) hours and $20.00 in Gasoline wasted they wanted to waste even more of my time for one of their Optometrists to examine my eyes and tell me how bad they are, ....... which I already know. Can you say Gratuitous? What a complete wast of my time and their time, as well. I told them that I was not going to make another appointment for a month or for several months out. Been there, done that, ....... Too many times. Now, I either go blind, crack up me and my 2023 new Ford truck when I'm driving and a bucket of white paint is suddenly thrown across my windshield and I am "whited out" which no one seems to care about me dying because I have had a bunch of inept, incompetent Physicians where ever and when ever I go to any of them. Or, I can spend the remainder of my natural life searching throughout the country for a competent, real Opthomologist so that I am able to have this much needed surgery on my right eye. Good luck. In the interests of full disclosure, I've had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Paul Botelho personally,…read moreso when it came time for cataract surgery last year, he was the natural choice. Lest you think it's only due to personal relationship, Paul is also an instructor at Brown. Who better to perform eye surgery? That said, the overall experience was very positive, from scheduling to the exam process, then surgery, then billing question follow up. The actual surgery is done in batches, almost assembly-line styler. That may sound negative, but the staff was very attentive to all patients' personal needs and kept the process extremely organized so my mind was at ease knowing I was in good hands. Kudos to all the staff for a job well done! This office is highly recommended.

I used to see one of the founding doctors years ago when I was young, as I've had eye issues all of my life. It was easy to schedule my appointment as I was still in their system after what had to be 8 or 12 years! They went over my insurance with me and explained what I'd be expected to pay at my first visit. I was able to get an appointment scheduled about two weeks out, but that was partly because my own work schedule is busy! I arrived about 10 minutes early and completed some simple paperwork. I was the only one in the waiting room and right on time was greeted by Dr. Michaud, an OD at the practice. My exam was thorough but quick, which was really great as I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was able to get a pair of contacts in my new prescription to wear home and ordered a few months worth to be delivered to my house - super convenient. Check out was simple and easy. They do have an optical shop on premises which is convenient, but I chose to keep my old frames and they do charge a fee on top of the lense replacement charge if you aren't purchasing new ones through them. I elected to shop around for prices, so I didn't spend too much time in the shop. The doctor and staff were friendly and helpful and the practice was very clean. I had a great experience and will continue to visit them in the future.
