You don't buy an souvenir here. Rather, you are given a chance to sit before a trained artist who will cut your profile into thin strips of paper in approximately 90 seconds. It's really impressive to see how fast and accurate the artist can make a picture with nothing but a pair of scissors and some pieces of paper! Your resulting keepsake will be one of a kind! The shop itself is pretty small and easy to miss, located along Main Street near other shops, but that adds to its charm. Because of its size, it can get a little crowded at times, especially when people are waiting for their turn. During both events Joseph was open to whatever photos we wanted to take (I was able to squeeze in a cheesy prom looking photo with the wedding party) but he made it extremely easy to take beautiful pictures with his guidance and eye for detail. He was our wedding photographer and we couldn't have wished for anything better. He was completely helpful and accommodating during the entire process; from booking, to planning, to the day of the event and even after our wedding was over. First of all the initial meeting with him was great. He had a lot of information examples and work to show us which we liked. He was very nice and has a great sense of humor which made planning our wedding that much easier. He explained everything to us in a very easy way and was more than willing to answer all of our questions. In our first meeting it was very obvious that he has tons of experience and great advice to give. The day of the event was even better. My bride and I both have large, loud, active Hispanic families. Lol. So we were a bit worried that trying to get everyone organized and attentive enough to get the pictures done was going to be hard. Furthermore our church only gave us 20 minutes after the ceremony to get all the pictures done. Joseph said, "leave it up to me and we will get all the pictures you want" He was right!! He was not shy around our 2 crazy families and was able to handle them like he was one of us. He was bold and assertive and that was exactly what we needed. We asked him if we could add a third location of picture taking at my brides house and he said, "sure not a problem". Like I said - super accommodating. He swung by and took a set of pictures that my wife really wanted to have with no problem or hiccups. The rest of the pictures were done at a park by the water in Long Beach. Joseph did a great job of incorporating our surroundings. My bride and I both love the sea and he made sure that all of our pictures had that feeling of being by the water. He had great picture ideas and concepts which made our pictures so much better that we expected. The rest of the wedding went without a hitch. He got every single shot we had hoped and planned to get with him. He told us that being able to tell a complete story of the day was the most important thing in shooting our wedding. He went about and beyond in doing so. He even stayed later that we had planned just to make sure he got all the shots he needed. Also, let's not forget all the cheesy jokes he told our wedding party... we laughed at him but he got what he wanted - which was our attention. He is still young and trying to get started in this profession, but he still seemed very talented for such a young guy. We did an engagement session with him even though we had already done ours and I am so glad we did. They were so beautiful and it allowed us to get to know him better. The day of the wedding it was so helpful to have the 3 of them there capturing all our moments. We had a Catholic ceremony so you really need a lot of photographers to get everything since they are so stingy about where your people are allowed to stand. The only bummer of the day was that it rained which slowed us down a bit, so we weren't able to get all of the pictures that we wanted to take. Vincent and the girls weren't prepared for the weather either, but luckily the service manager at the venue jumped in to save the day and found them so umbrellas to use so that we could still take pictures out on the golf course. I would say that although they are very talented, I think they need a bit more experience doing full blown weddings. The rain kind of screwed things up for us, but I feel like once they get more experience they will become more organized in dealing with wedding photography. Most of their pictures on instagram are of family portraits and what not, so they have mastered the small scale setting. Our engagement shoot went very smooth and Vincent seemed very in the zone in that setting. I love the pictures he took of our wedding, but I think he still has some work to do. Recently my US passport needed to be renewed so this photo studio was one of the few places that…read morestill open on Sundays after 4 PM. The photo studio is located inside AR Galleria (the main galleria entrance was locked on Sunday afternoon so I had to enter through the side door via Cafe Lowell). [Parking]: Easy and free parking in the large plaza. [Reservation]: I was able to call and book a same-day reservation on Sunday. Visitors can also make an online reservation via the studio's website. Upon arrival, I scanned a QR code and signed a waiver before the owner started my 5-minute photo session. [Price]: $27 for 4 physical copies and digital copies to download via email (must be downloaded within 7 days). I did not initially receive an email, but I emailed the owner the next day about the download link and he sent a follow-up email with the link within a few hours (the email was hidden in my spam folder). The email included all the pictures taken during the session. The shop also makes photo keychains ($4+ each). The studio also offers 15-minute and 30-minute self-portrait sessions. [Studio]: While I was here for a passport photo, the studio mainly operates as a self-portrait studio where customers take photos of themselves. This small studio has all the props and camera setup needed to make it happen. [Process]: The owner had me sit on a chair and took 7 pictures. Out of the 7 pictures taken, I was able to choose one for him to print while the rest of pictures can be downloaded via a link in an email. It was more important to receive a digital copy because the US passport renewal process requires applicants to upload a digital photo rather than submit a physical copy. I was able to use one of the digital copies and now that same picture will be on my passport for the next 10 years before the next renewal timeline. [Conclusion]: Overall it was an efficient process and I was able to walk in and out within 15 minutes. However, it would be helpful for the studio to provide additional entry instructions on the website when the main galleria entrance is locked.
