This place is awesome! Staff is friendly polite and helpful and honest about frames you're trying on. I was helped to find the right fit for me and my nose that we're comfortable. I purchased lenses and was able to pick up the same day. Not only did I get help with the purchase, optometrist was able to repair a pair of broken glasses and sunglasses I had. The staff here is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My whole family has been coming here for about 3 years now, and I highly recommend them. My good friend who lives in Pasadena even comes here only after my recommendation last year. The facility is clean and very organized. I came in along with my 2 year old, and they were quick to even make her comfortable by giving her crayons and paper to color while she waits. I love how their instruments for eye examinations are modern- no more of that air puff in the eye machine (I've always hate that). They also make it easier to communicate by allowing appointments to be booked online, and they can also send text messages as reminders. Professional staff and first-rate equipment! I needed new contacts after moving to the area. I was very impressed by the quality of the vision checking equipment. It must be top of the line and brand new. I've always had previous eye doctors use manual devices, but everything is automated at Eye Q. The best part is they don't use the machine that blows air into your eye (I hate that!); they check for glaucoma with newer technology that doesn't require the air puff! I have now worn my new contacts for a week, and they fit perfectly! Dr. Banzuela-Yap recommended more modern contacts than what I've been wearing for 10 years -- and the new ones breathe so much easier. I highly recommend this clinic if you want access to the latest technology and recommendations for the most comfortable contacts/glasses. read more

I am very picky when seeking medical care and do a great amount of research before going to a particular place. I have worn glasses pretty much my whole life and Eye Q Optometry was my favorite. I loved Dr. Yap he is super knowledgable about his craft and explained each step. He made a point to really help me understand each test he was doing and the purpose for it, which is something I have not experienced with anyone else. All the staff are extremely sweet and helpful. It was a very easy experience and they have a nice selection of glasses. They explained my benefits well and even gave me some pointers on how I should proceed in future years to reap my benefits. I dread going to the eye doctors. Long wait, stuffy, those drops.... This place, however, was nothing like it. Bright, clean, friendly, no wait! I made an appointment online and gave them 3 recommended dates to come see them, they were able to accommodate the earliest date. I came in, was seated and did all the usual new patient paperwork. Afterwards, was sent to an exam room and met with the Doc who was super friendly and welcoming. We did the exam, and man, I had not realized how blurry my world was. Then came to look at my eyeballs. Usually, they put the drops in to dilate your eyes. No, they gave me the option to shine a light through it with a machine instead of those dreaded drops that will leave you blind. The machine was quick and easy. The Doc then showed me what was behind my eyes to see if there were any abnormalities - there weren't. After that, I worked with the nice lady to help pick out my frames. That was Monday. I picked up my frames on Thursday. She cleaned them, added a glass cleaning solution, a cleaning cloth, and a Ferrero Rocher into my bag and I was well on my way. I highly recommend this place. I came because it was close to where I'm currently at. I live all the way on the west side and will drive here (through that dreaded DTLA traffic) to come here for any further eye exams. read more

I am thoroughly impressed with this optometrist! I went in for lenses with frames I purchased online. The prices are the most reasonable that I have ever seen in all my life that I have been wearing glasses. They also take vision insurance which made it more reasonable! I had one pair of transition lenses with the thinner lenses, sunglasses lenses (thin lenses), and eyeglasses lenses (thin lenses). All this for $323(with $100 being paid by my VSP insurance)!!! That's cheaper than Costco! They offer a 1 year warranty on their lenses. If they scratch, they'll replace them one time. If you need a new optometrist, go to Eye Q! read more

This place is great, its easy to find, abundant parking space, they work well with a plethora of insurances, the md as well as the ladies in the front are friendly and accomodating. I went and got my eyes checked at this place for $66.00, I paid $375.00 for the frames another $20.00 refraction, $125.00 Transitions, $120.00 Anti-Reflective Premium, $35.00 Polycarbonate, $27.50 Single vision lens, another $27.50 Charge Single vision lens, they gave me a discount of $100.50 and my total was $695.50. I purchased these glasses on 05/ 19/ 2014, after a month the screws starting getting loose so I took it in they tightened it for me. Another couple of months later same PROBLEM, went again they tightened it again. 11/07/2014 went in again the person who helped me Dr. Maureen Banzulela says first we have to mail it to the manufacturer you need to pay $20.00 and then says wait after grabbing my money she says we can do it know. I forgot the part when she says the screws are from the inside and its probably from that that it's getting loose. She thinks everyone is stupid. Long story short they supposedly replaced the frames gave me banged up frames that look exactly the same as mine....I don"t think they replaced it!!!! I will go see my LAWYER and see if I can take these crooks to court.....I DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE!!!! The nerves on this lady it wasn't enough she charged $695.50 she still wanted another $20.00 for a problem that shouldn't have been happening in the first place.......Well over $20.00 this lady got what she deserved on YELP!! I still don't know why she charged me $20.00 shipping what?!? I say stay away from GREDDY people like this type of business's. KARMA will catch up!! read more
