Myself (the mother) had the expected short vision problems, but Dr Grygier was able to prescribe me gradual lenses that allow me to see so much better close by, middle distance and long distance (I happen to have some astigmatism and also work as an artist, so "mid distance" good sight is important in my job)

Yesterday, I saw her for my annual check up. Her pervious patient was a child being fitted for contact lenses which must have been difficult for the girl. As a result, Dr. Manion was naturally concerned that this young patient was made as comfortable as possible, and thus the start of my consultation was slightly delayed. During Covid19 Dr. Manion had a wild influx of New Yorkers fleeing the city, in need of consultations, and as such she and her team had their work cut out for them in order to see as many patients as possible in a day. Naturally this inconvenienced other 'regular' patients, but with a little kindness and thoughtfulness, Westport Eyecare patients were all accommodated. Dr. Manion's care and attention to detail quite possibly saved my eyesight and restored my vision. I cannot recommend her more highly! In my experience most doctors run late because they care for the patients they are tending, as do car mechanics and plumbers!

She didn't even know the answers to simple questions about eye exams and had to put me on hold for over 10 min so she could check with her supervisor. Then she didn't know the price of the contact lens fitting exam. Then, when I asked if they accept my insurance it was impossible to get a straightforward answer it was clear she had no clue what she was saying. Later, I called their other location to doublecheck and got completely different answers. It was also an ordeal. Again, the person I spoke with was rude and abrupt. They are so vague about insurances they accept, or about the final cost you can expect to pay. Then they e-mail forms to sign requiring you to pay upfront for things that are routinely covered by insurance. Everything there is so chaotic and disorganized. And don't even dare ask another question because you will be snapped at. I can only imagine when one gets a bill from them. Most likely you will be overcharged and nobody in their office will cooperate with you to resolve any billing issues.....or even understand what you are calling about. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, to say the very least. Stay away from this practice!!!!!!

Worse I had no confidence in his prescription because his refractor had smudged lenses. So after checking her reviews I decided to update my contact lenses and have Dr Gross double check the other's work. She fitted me with the latest and greatest daily wear contacts very professionally and without a hitch. That night, with my Parkinson's Disease reducing my fine motor control, I couldn't remove the lenses. The next morning,​ I reached out to Dr Gross and she made arrangements to meet me at a local YMCA convenient to my job and removed the contract lenses. She was gracious, without a word of complaint. Poor communication. Ordered new lenses, told to text to pick them up, texted on Tuesday, tried to…read morepick up on Wednesday. On Thursday, they finally got back to me, let me know they were closed on Wednesday. The next time I had a break in my schedule on Friday, texted at 9:30, suggested 12:30 to pick up new lenses, at 11:30 they texted me 12:30 was taken, how about 1:30. Tried calling no answer. I texted back at 11:45 and said OK for 1:30. They responded that they gave that time to someone else. When I finally got an answer they said to just come by and knock on door. When I did knock, the woman signaled to me that I should call-they would not come to the door. When I finally talked to the Father, (it really is "Family" ) he said he was sorry I was upset, but never apologized for poor service. His son gave me the exam, the Mom checked the son's work, and the Father fitted the frames. I was happy until they kept letting the phone go to voice mail, and started with the texting.
