From the moment we arrived, Dr. Truong treated my mother with the utmost respect, patience, and genuine care. She took the time to make sure my mother felt comfortable throughout the appointment and never rushed the process. It meant a lot to see a physician show that level of compassion and professionalism. Dr. Truong was also extremely thorough during the eye examination. She carefully evaluated my mother's vision and eye health and took the time to explain everything in a clear and helpful way. She provided a lot of valuable information that helped us better understand my mother's eye health and what to look out for moving forward. I'm usually here around November or December. The staff have a pumpkin design contest where they ask the clients/patients, to pick their favorite. The pumpkins were so nicely designed. I'm curious to see who wins. My first few minutes in the office was actually pretty fun. I think I might even make sure to come back in October next year. When I first walked in, I was immediately and happily greeted by, Johnathan. I instantly felt at home with him. Sarah, was the front desk/tech who worked with me to get my insurance card uploaded and then she took me back to do all the usual initial testing. The way these were set up in the room was very convenient. I literally rolled my chair from station to station. The equipment was clean and in good shape, not ancient. As soon as I was done with these, Sarah, took me to the exam room to wait for Dr. Walsh. Dr. Walsh, walked in and instantly said hello with a big smile on her face. I LOVE seeing her here in the office. She is so easy to talk to and is so personable. I feel like she really listens to me, to my concerns and my preference. It is always a pleasure to receive care from, Dr. Walsh. After my visit with, Dr. Walsh, I went right back to Johnathan. He came fully prepared with my insurance plan coverage. He explained everything clearly to me. He was animated, never boring, very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions based on what I could afford as well as other options should I decide for something else. He even showed me the different types of transitions including the more advanced lenses available. He was quick without rushing me. He patiently answered my questions about insurance when I didn't understand what was going on. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with MVOC. However, the experience with the front desk/optometric technician has been consistently uncomfortable. I have visited three times, and each time I was made to feel "stupid" for asking basic questions. Rather than being helpful, the technician would give me a stare like I was a burden, which made me feel extremely unwelcome. Beyond the attitude, the technical service was disappointing. After waiting over a month for my Metas, they arrived and rested right on my cheeks (which the sample pair didn't do). When I raised this concern, the technician dismissively told me they are "universal frames" and offered no help. It feels like the measurements taken by the optician didn't matter. Now I have to buy my own nose bridge inserts to prevent the glasses from causing acne and skin irritations. I want to continue seeing Dr. Grichine, but the lack of kindness and technical support from the staff makes it very difficult to return.
