The office is clean and tasteful, and the new LoDo office is beautiful. Prior to coming here, I had only ever seen opthamologists, and admittedly, I was not sure if I would have the same level of comfort & confidence in an optometrist...Dr. Kasper has been phenomenal! She is incredibly thorough (even more so than prior MDs I have seen) and explains everything in plain English, which I appreciate as a patient. My last visit, Dr. Kasper covered the costs associated with getting pictures taken of my optic nerve, explaining that pandemic-induced mask-wearing leads to fogging and imperfect views when trying to view the nerve via dilation through a foggy microscope lens. Knowing she cared enough to make sure she was getting the best view possible of my optic nerve was awesome. She even showed me the pictures and walked me through everything on the screen.... so cool! The opticians can be slightly pushy about purchasing contact lenses and/or glasses through them following an appointment, but in my experience, they have left me alone once I made it clear I was not there to shop that day :) I have not gotten any contacts or glasses through Optique yet, but they seem to have a pretty extensive selection (pricier end).

They are located in a shopping center with a very busy parking lot and have 2 reserved parking spots in front of their office that they recommend parking in to avoid being towed. We both thought our visits were fine, and the eye doctor was professional and thorough. and the only thing we weren't crazy about were the fact that we felt like they tried to up-sell us on a few things. I totally get that everyone is trying to make a buck, but we just didn't love it from a medical provider.

So just hope that the new ones don't give you issues because you won't be able to revert back to the original ones. However... I've started joking with myself that I should pack a snack and a novel for my visits. I actually asked the receptionists if I had time to run home for a little bit after I checked in- and I did!! I waited an hour and twenty minute before seeing the doctor at my past visit, and total visits consistently stretch past two hours. I don't write this lightly. I have gone here for years and love the place. I've given it several years hoping the timing would improve, but unfortunately it hasn't. I'm genuinely sad to leave, but I need a practice that respects appointment times a bit more closely. When I went in for the appointment, I wasn't in the system. I was told by the receptionist that the online scheduling wasn't that good. 2) Re-scheduled an appointment. I know, I know - after my online experience, I should have realized that my appointment the next day was going to be like a funhouse of distorted mirrors. How you may ask? Glad to explain. a) Day of appointment I was in the receptionist's system; however, the eye-tech couldn't find me in her system in her office. I was told that I needed to go to the reception area to wait. I balked. Finally, the receptionist came in, and they realized that the eye-tech was looking for me under the wrong doctor. This took some time . b) I got my eyes dilated. While my eyes were dilating, I was put in another office. After a really long time, I stepped out and asked one of the techs how long I'd have to wait. She told me I needed to go back in because my eyes were dilating. c) After more time, the optometrist came bursting in and told me he had LOST me. Apparently, I had been placed in a normally unused office. d) Finally, I left Arvada Vision & Eye Clinic after an hour and a half. BUT WAIT: 3) Like a marching band of floating instruments following me home, even though I paid in full (the receptionist insisted), I received a bill saying I still owed them more money.

On top of that, the front desk woman, Barbara, was rude and dismissive when I questioned it. It's a shame because the doctor truly was great, but the poor communication and bad attitude at checkout ruined an otherwise good visit. Make sure you double-check all costs before going in.

DO NOT ever buy glasses from this place. It's a total scam. They tell you that you have 30 days to…read morereturn a pair of glasses but it's not true. You don't get the really test them out on whether you like them are not and when you try to make a return the excuse they use is "it's custom made," which just applies to the lenses. I told them I would even be willing to eat the cost of the lenses but I want a refund for the frames. I' was also open to getting a credit to buy contact lenses and it was a no. They are unwilling to work with you in anyway. I gave them another alternative to switch out to another pair of glasses and she initially indicated that could be an option and then said "-actually no." Mind you that this is not a $100 pair of glasses, it's actually over $500. I should have trusted my gut when they were trying to sell so hard on the glasses they offered. I bought one pair and when I came to get them and get them adjusted, I was pushed to buy another cheap pair. This is not an honest business. I had told her that if there's not resolution to this I am going to write an honest and truthful review so others know and her response was "sure go ahead." And of course that would be what she responded with, they already took $600+ from me.
