My family has been coming here for several years for our annual eye exams. The clinic is modern, clean and professional. You are always greeted by their receptionists right away. The doctors here are excellent optometrists. Just be aware that they will always try to sell you on getting retinal imaging which is not covered by vision insurance. I happen to have medical reasons to get this done, but no one ever spends the effort to ask if I would like to use my medical insurance to cover it. If you want to save another doctors' appointment, it might be worth $59, but you may have to demand they submit to you should check your insurance coverages. I decided to save this type of exam for an ophthalmologist for their scope of practice. The lobby has many brand names of eye frames to choose from. Every year I ask if they have "asian fit" options or brands and they have yet to add to their selection. I was told they have some of those brands at the "other" office. When I asked about ordering from the catalog (I happen to know exactly what brand and style would work), they were kindly able to order it for me. However, when I inquired about the cost, it is clear there is a significant uncharge for their "broker" fees. You might consider just ordering the same frame cheaper from many options available online for the exact same thing. You are basically paying extra so you can try it on in person. It is coincidental that it will also be just above what your vision insurance covers. Overall, the eye care that is delivered by the optometrists here is great. I have always received excellent care from them. The extra services and add-ons should be carefully considered for the value if you so choose. Also, this medical complex has becoming increasingly busy and it is often much harder to find parking each year. You might need to allow a few extra minutes to circle around to find a spot so you are not late to your appointment. read more

we came here last year, had a good experience. But just recently visited for a yearly check up, they upped their prices on everything. They were so persitant about wanting for me to pay for eye exam out of pocket almost forced. When I said I wasn't gonna pay for it out of pocket because it was yearly check up and insurance would cover it they said they would double the price. Leaving me with a couple dollars for frames, I would still have to throw a couple hundred dollars on just frames. Definitely not budget friendly. Also zero customer service, ladies up front need to work with being friendly. Won't be coming back and won't recommend to anyone. read more

The front desk staff is so great navigating my insurance coverage and what it covers so I can better pick out my new frames and lense options. I've always had great care at The Eye Shop until recently. The office staff is not helpful selecting frames. I was told I was looking through my bifocals incorrectly by the same staff. I was not notified my glasses were ready. After a month, I called them and was told they were having trouble with their message system, which is why I didn't get notified. What, they couldn't pickup the phone and dial out? I haven't been able to see properly for a month. All that being said, Dr Ausdahl is great. read more

I had a discussion with a store employee regarding what type of glasses I should get based on my particular situation, and purchased bifocal glasses as recommended. When I received the glasses there was virtually no improvement in my overall vision and the bifocals seemed like a waste of time when compared with just continuing to use reading glasses. The bifocals just hindered vision through the part of the lenses that were not the bifocal part of the lenses. I understand the bifocals are something you have to try and get used to but what is the point of subjecting yourself to that if bifocals are no better than reading glasses that don't require you to shift your glasses to try and look through the half of the lens that is the bifocal? The real problem though is being given recommendations and information before getting the glasses that then changes completely after you have purchased and received the glasses. After pointing out that I really couldn't tell any difference in my vision with the glasses the store representative started making statements that completely contradicted what they told me before I purchased the glasses. If I had been given that information BEFORE I bought the glasses I would never have made the decision to get glasses that cost several hundred dollars. Making matters even worse, the representative suggested that maybe the prescription from my highly rated ophthalmologist was the problem! I should also mention that when I first went to the Eye Shop a representative told me they didn't except my insurance. I told them that was puzzling since I went to great lengths to make sure that they did accept my insurance before going there. As I was leaving the store a different representative called me back and told me that they did accept my insurance. Sadly, as it turns out, it would have been better if I had left before they discovered this fact. I strongly recommend going somewhere else for your glasses, and wherever you go you might want to record what you are told before your purchase of glasses so that you can confront them with it if you discover they are telling you something completely different after your purchase. read more

We just moved here from out of state my daughter needed contacts for the sport she plays. I called around and no one had same day appointments they were weeks out. Luckily I decided to call the Eye Shop they had a cancellation and I was able to get in that morning. We saw Dr V he was so kind and caring he got us fitted with contacts that day. I had such a great experience that I made my other daughter who wears glasses an appt. Overall that staff was wonderful. Over the phone they helped me get my insurance verified and also in person. VisionWorks accepts VSP now!! Sorry for this long one but needs to be shared. It's disappointing that I have to write this review as I and my family had been going to this optometrist for a few years now and have always had a pleasant experience. However today was different, I went in to discuss my last pair of glasses that appeared to have some peeling going on with the lenses. When I got there the receptionist, Christy or something like that attempted to assist me explaining that there wasn't any coating on my lens and she wasn't sure what was going on. I asked could it be an issue with the transitions, after some back and forth she stated that my glasses were out of warranty and she couldn't help me. And at which point she threw my glasses back at me. At this point I asked her if my records can be transferred to VisionWorks as I wouldn't be coming back there. At which point she deems it necessary to tell me that VisionWorks doesn't accept VSP insurance. Which I informed her that yes they do because I was there yesterday and bought two pairs of glasses. Then in her attempt to throw shade she then says ouch did you pay a lot out of pocket because they're not in network. Which once again she was misinformed. At this point I asked her name and said just transfer my info. Then she said why do you need my name. And I explained to her that when I call your doctor I can tell him who cost him a customer and plus I needed it for this review. At which point she went to get him. Long story short when he came out our interaction was not confrontational. But I couldn't believe how rude his reception staff was. Totally unprofessional won't be going back. read more

Even though I don't see their eye doctor, I continue to go back just for their selection of beautiful glasses and customer service. They give you all the information you need to understand what your insurance does and does not cover. No hassle and no issues. I appreciate that they give you the information and let you browse without hovering. The office is beautiful, spacious and clean. There is always plenty of staff to help more than one customer at a time, they have a quick turn around time with filling prescriptions, and their glasses are high quality!! Love them! Yesterday my daughter had an eye injury during a basketball game and her primary care recommended she see her eye doctor ASAP. I called to get her in, an established patient, and they cannot see her for 3 days and recommended I take her to another eye dr or an Urgent Care. Unacceptable! I am so pumped to have my first pair of progressive glasses. I am 46 years old and do full time videography for a living. I was absolutely sick of swapping readers on when I needed to view the back of my camera but didn't need glasses when I had to look at my subject. These progressives will save me so much headache. My wife went in today and I was waiting in the car but she texted me and said Dr V would like to see you. What?! I don't have an appointment but he was concerned about my eye health as my wife had explained I had a recent problem and I went in and met him What a warm and gracious doctor only to be complemented by a trio of front office staff that were polite friendly kind, knowledgeable andm helpful. The eye shop is also absolutely immaculately clean and I felt as though I was in someone's home.
