I've been going there for four years. The eye exam is very thorough, the selection is great and most importantly they get the prescription perfectly placed. This is the most important thing. If you've ever had it done wrong you would know. Can't see properly and you feel like you're on a boat in high seas. 5 Stars for extremely helpful professionals with a great eye for design! My partner was looking for new glasses as well as to start contacts for the first time. The folks at Eyes & Optics came recommended by a friend, plus their reviews are really great on here. He's had a few appointments to help him get used to putting his contacts in as well as to find the right prescription (his is pretty tricky). In the meantime, we went in together to help him find a new pair of glasses. There are tons of great options here and we were a bit overwhelmed. There's a super nice guy (didn't catch his name, but he has long hair) who offered us assistance. Chris recognized him from when he went in a year ago with Warby Parker glasses (that he didn't buy there) and asked if they could help fit it to his face. At the time, Chris was open to paying for the work, since the glasses weren't purchased from this shop, but this same man helped him and fixed the fit issue at no cost. Anyway, this gentleman helped us narrow down some options and then grabbed a pair from the back that he thought would work well with his face shape. And wouldn't you know it- that was the pair that looked the best! Turns out they know what they're doing! They have a great variety of styles, colors, and options. They carry lots of designer brands that most optical places refuse to carry. This is why I come to eyes and optics for my frames. Customer service sucks. Like really sucks. I've purchased three sets of frames from them over the past three years each time. No help is ever offered on picking the frames or giving any information on the frames or the prices. 1 has to ask. Then once you pick your frames, they literally just bill your insurance and charge you. There's no discussion on exactly what lenses they're putting in or what exactly is that you want. I bought progressives from them just recently and they never even marked where my pupils are. The only reason I know this is because two days later I went with my fiancé and he bought his glasses down the street and they took extremely good care of us, and they marked the lenses where his pupils are and took care of everything for us, including answering questions and offering options. read more

I first came in on a weekday to look at frames and was the only person in the entire store/ practice and wasn't helped whatsoever until I went to the counter and was ready to purchase a $700 pair of Tom Ford glasses. They never asked me if they could help me find anything or assist in any way. Instead spoke of their upcoming PTO while I roamed the store. Even when it came time to check out the girl at the desk asked me to wait because the other was on a personal call in the back. I came today to pick up my glasses and I started to browse as I was interested in purchasing a sun pair. The man at the desk quickly handed me my optical pair and then the transaction was over. Never asked if he could further assist me or anything. Spend your money elsewhere. Frame options are beautiful but it's self service until you're ready to check out. read more

If you're looking for great doctors, a great staff, and Designer Eyewear, then look no further. This is definately the place to go. Even if you are not looking for the Designer Label, this is still the place to go! From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles. Lou was immediately at my side ready to help and I have never been given such great service when searching for the perfect pair of eyeglasses. That is really saying something because I have been wearing glasses since I was 18 months old. Being a material girl, I was definately looking for the Chanel, Prada, etc. When purchasing frames in the past, I've always had to walk around myself and try on frames with little to no help. This was absolutely not the case at Eyes and Optics! Lou had my Husband and me take a seat, brought out bottled water and started showing me Chanel frames which were perfect for the shape of my face. He was also an expert on all the frames and gave me excellent info as to why certain frames had been designed a certain way. He was very attentive, friendly, and did not rush me at all in making my decision as I tried on several frames multiple times. He was very honest with the way the frames looked on me both in shape, color, and design. Also, like many people trying to sell you something, they are going to try to sell you the most expensive and tell you how wonderful it looks. This was not the case at all. I actually ended up choosing a pair of Chanel frames in the mid-range price. I may as well be blind without my glasses on or my contacts in, so I had to completely rely on my Husband and Lou's opinion. Lou could have easily told me one of the highest priced frames looked the best and I would have bought them; but, as I said, he was honest and didn't force me in that direction. He was very concerned with what looked the best on me and what best suited my needs. I can't wait to pick up my new eyeglasses next week and I can't wait until January when I will return again to purchase a pair of prescription Chanel sunglasses. I already have those picked out too; but, Lou assured me if they were no longer being made, he would have something just as perfect, if not better in stock. In my review, I put $$$$ for Ultra High-end in the price range because they do carry the most costly Designer frames; however, you could also easily find a pair of inexpensive frames at Eyes and Optics in the $ price range; and I'm confident you will still receive the same excellent quality of customer service. In the future, I do not ever see myself going anywhere else other than Eyes and Optics for my prescription eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, or contacts. I go to Dr. Lisa Gibbons here. She is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and pretty much the only eye doctor I will go to now. Any kind of eye issues, she will sort you out. The store itself is nicely presented, with all top-of-the-line eye wear. I have picked up Prada, Tom Ford in the past, and my current glasses - IC Berlin. They will also hook you up with contact lenses if you desire. Everybody working on the floor is very helpful. There's this really interesting machine that I believe tests your visual field - a "perimetry machine"? - can't quite recall, but you press a button when you see the "squiggly" lines that show up around your field of view. It's like playing a video game. You see, dear reader? Going to the eye doctor is fun! Finally, if you get your eyes dilated with the drops, you won't be able to see much for awhile. Just wander around Park Avenue for a half hour, stumbling into things. Trust me, the pedestrians and restaurant patrons love it! read more

Nice and friendly staff and it's located on park ave in the main drag of Winter Park. They took my insurance with no problem and were very helpful to help me find glasses and even order contacts. I saw Dr. Lisa Gibbons (I think that's how you spell it) and she was wonderful. They have a large selection of high end glasses and they have a ton of trendy options that don't look like everyone else's glasses but they don't specialize in cost efficiency. A cool spot to check out new frames and get a quality exam if you're not on a budget. Oh! And the staff has been very stable there. We went for a number of years and the staff was basically the same so that's nice to see the same faces year to year. You really develop a relationship with them. read more

First, I would like to say Dr. Lisa Gibbons was the optometrist who took care of my exam, and she was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this particular optometrist. She is kind and extremely knowledgeable-- just over all very positive experience with the exam portion. Honestly, she is the only reason I did not leave this at 1 star. The staff was a bit disappointing. It felt as though I did not "belong" in that store. I did not have a very welcoming experience. I truly believe that because I use a certain vernacular and did not have the time to look exceptional that they did not make an attempt to assist me with finding a new pair of glasses or simply making eye contact with me. It had been four years since my last eye exam for glasses and contacts, and my previous optometrist of 15 years had decided to relax and enjoy life (good for her!), so it was time to find a new doctor. My neighbor had been going to Eyes & Optics for some time and suggested that I try them out. I'm SO glad that I did as I enjoy the location, the store is very modern, and most of all, my visit with Dr. Lisa Gibbons was outstanding. My previous optometrist set the bar very high, and I miss her dearly, but Dr. Gibbons filled that void quickly. Dr. Gibbons is amiable and knowledgable, and my new prescription for both glasses and contacts are fantastic! I couldn't ask for a better optometrist, and I hope she doesn't decide to start her retirement soon *smile*. Afterward, my help with choosing the right pair of frames was a delight as well. The gentleman that assisted was very patient and attentive with all my requests and concerns. He was especially helpful once my new glasses arrived as I got overly worried about the quality of the lenses as something didn't feel right. The crew in the store put up with all my questions and fears in a stellar manner, and I can't thank them enough for relaying all the changes between my old glasses and new (I'm so sorry for being a poop!). They were exactly right, and after wearing them for just a couple of days, I love them! I wish they could be my doctor for everything!!! This is a beautiful modern store and doctor's office right on Park Ave., run by the friendliest staff with a quality selection of eye wear. I had been to their office several years ago with my boyfriend who was a patient of theirs and had also stopped in during a wine walk and knew I liked them then! I have never worn glasses in my life but noticed my vision was changing lately so I called on a Tuesday and was able to schedule an apt. for that Thursday. The doctor saw me right away, took her time with vision testing and let me ask all the questions I needed about my new prescription. They also had a fancy high tech machine that tests your peripheral vision. Then there is a man up front whose job is to help you choose your glasses and he also took his time helping me try on lots of different pairs and discussing the price I was looking for. They have ray bans, cartier, ic!berlin, prada, tom fords and a lot of others; I ended up with a pair of Oliver and People's and then they gave an option of the type of lens and coatings I wanted to get. They told me they would be in within a week but they were ready to be picked up the following Monday afternoon! read more

There are not very many people I'd trust to get this close to my eyes but Lisa is just fabulous. I don't "need" glasses for vision per se but I do sometimes use them for mitigating the glare from my computer screen and everyone at Eyes & Optics was super helpful in making sure I got the right eyewear. The team at Eye and Optics are incredibly nice. We found them through Winter Park's "Sip, Shop, and Stroll" event and I decided to give them a try. Dr. Gibbons was extremely helpful in seeing me and getting me a prescription for new contacts. Even more, my eye insurance kicked in a few days after the appointment but they were willing to go the extra mile and post-date it at my next appointment to help me more manageably pay. Maybe they are better now but when I first went there to order contact lenses many years ago, my eyes got infected from the lenses.

This is a great place for glasses. I couldn't find glasses to fit my tiny nose anywhere but this place hit the nail on the head. I worked with Juan and although there was a delay with my glasses, he kept me updated and called me as soon as they came in.
