I've been coming to this place for about 4yrs. This past year they have been terrible!! My glasses took over a month and a half to receive them because the lab kept messing up. I spent $700 on two pairs, reading and regular. I've had the crappiest service from everyone there. Most recently I had to get my second pair redone, but not until fighting with Cindy for a day all due to Adrien's (manager) error. Apparently I had two pairs of regular glasses since March!! I wouldn't recommend this place. Had I not gone in to replace my glasses nothing would have been done. read more

Going to keep it short and sweet. I switch optometrists every year because every single one I meet is just a frame salesman. Kelvin Nguyen is the exact opposite of every one of these upsellers. He was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond what he needed to do for a simple 'once a year' vision appointment. He even gave me a secondary exam with a high powered camera, which he normally charges for, just because he was concerned about the health of my eyes. The place is a little hard to find, but I am told they will be moving very soon to a better location. That was good news to hear, because a gem like this should not be hidden. read more

I saw Dr. Nguyen 15 days ago and was extremely pleased with the care I received. I would recommend this office for a thorough exam; however, I ordered a pair of glasses that same day. It is now 15 days later and when I called this morning, I was told I would be called back in an hour. It is now 4 hours later and no call to determine if my glasses are ready. In addition, the computer system needs help...I was charged twice for the glasses. I reported this and was told it might take up to a month to get the refund. My suggestion is to have your eye exam here, but have your glasses made somewhere else and save yourself the frustration. read more

First of all, they have two new doctors at this office. The husband and wife team (for whatever reason) have moved on. My appointment was for 10:30 AM. At 11:00, I asked how much longer (they had originally said 10 minutes when I arrived). She said, "Oh not much longer, maybe 10-15 minutes." I am glad they think of my time as invaluable. I do not. I will start by saying that Dr Coleman was wonderful. The exam & consult with her was great. My time in the front not so much. My daughter and I both had appts scheduled for 2 and 2:30PM. We did our exam / consult pretty quickly then went up front to get glasses and contacts ordered. Our insurance has them in network but they told me they couldn't use our primary insurance because they didn't know how to bill it. I ended up purchasing glasses for my daughter using our secondary insurance then went to check out as instructed. I paid the remainder of my copay asking for an itemized bill since I need to submit it for our healthcare spending account. While that was printing, I mentioned that I needed to schedule a follow up for my contacts w/Dr Coleman. I was abruptly told that I will need to sign back in then wait because she needed to check in other clients. We had already been there for 2 hours & spent $300 but she didn't have time to schedule the follow up the Dr asked me to schedule. I guess my time is less valuable then the clients that just walked in. I was thoroughly disappointed and insulted that it was fine to make me wait but others couldn't. I don't even want to go back to pick up my daughters glasses or follow up on how the temporary contact lenses are working. The customer service was horrible. My husband started his new job and our vision finally kicked in! I had been holding off on getting a new pair of glasses for a while now. I only wear my glasses at home at the end of the day so I figured I could hold off on them for a while. I looked around at several different places and saw many great reviews on Yelp for EyeLux so decided this was the one. Filled an appt request online. Someone called me back within the same day; she was really friendly in helping me to set my appt. Told her I needed a new pair of glasses, she said no problem. Came in for my appt a couple days later. The place was very nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly. They checked me in and had me fill out some ppw. I waited 10 minutes until one of the tech called me back. She asked if I had was wearing my contacts, told her no. We then proceeded with my eye exam; she took photos, measured my eyes, blew some air in my eyes, etc. I was then taken to another room to wait for Dr. Chou. it didn't take very long before Dr Chou came in. He introduced himself, ask me some general questions and we proceeded with further exams. Dr Chou was very friendly, professional and thorough with his exam. I didn't feel rushed, and he explained everything very well. I was out of his office in no time. Finally moved on to the fun part, picking out my new frames! There were many selections of great frames to chose from, it did not take me long before I found my perfect pair. Now wondering why the 3 star? Well, I came in for glasses and not contacts, I did not need contacts. I was never informed that I would be given both an eye exam for glasses and contacts. The tech who took me back didn't ask me any questions on what I came for. On the l application I filled it asks if I wore both glasses and contacts, so of course I check yes on both. She must have assumed I needed both and gave my eye exams for both. I did not realize what had happened until the person who helped me with the frames said I was being charged $79 for the contact exam. Initially I was confused, told her I only came in for glasses so why was I charged for the extra exam. She said oh maybe they thought that I wanted it since I checked that I wore both contacts and glasses. She told me the next time I came in, I wouldn't have to get them exam. I don't think there will be a next time. I was very disappointed on how she had handled the situation. It would have been better if she had informed mgmt of the situation. Although she was very friendly it did not change the fact that I had to pay for the additional exam. I know what happened was probably just a mistake. I wish the situation was handled better. My out of pocket after insurance was $127 Additional I paid for service I did not come in for $79, almost as much as my glasses. My suggestion to the business: It was be very beneficial to both to clarify what the patient is there for. This will help avoid unnecessary fees incurred to your patients. Found this place through Internet search. After reading all the reviews I concluded this was the place to go to. My Keratoconus had been getting worse and I was in desperate need of help. Dr. Choo is god sent. He is very knowledgeable in the matter. His team is professional and courteous. I have found my new optometrist! Within a couple of weeks from my first appointment I was set up with my new ClearKone lens. I couldn't of asked for a better experience. I've been to many eye doctors in my 14 years of wearing glasses. This place is so far the best place I've been to. I was able to get a next day appointment when I called. Staff was nice and helpful. Doctor Chou was amazingly patient in explaining every exam and really took time with the exam. The tech that helped me picked out of my glasses was super nice and even help me fit my current glasses. They did not try to up sell things that I don't need. My insurance covered everything with 10 dollar co-pay. I couldn't be happier. Nice office with decent eyewear selection. I was mistakenly diagnosed with keratoconus, so I drove down to see Dr. Chou as he was highly recommend by the National Keratoconus Foundation and the LA specialists were way too expensive and had mixed reviews. Dr. Chou knows his stuff, I just wish he were a little sweeter. I asked lots of questions because I like to be informed and not follow the herd like most. I would highly recommend RB Eyes. Overall, they are thorough, knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional. I used to go to the optometrist inside of Costco to get my eyes checked and get a new set of contacts/glasses when/if my prescription changed. The exam price was reasonable and the cost of contacts and glasses couldn't be beat. It was a no frills, in&out kind of operation - which is ok if you don't really care for an extra bit of special attention. However, it wasn't until I visited RB Eyes that I realized how clueless and uninformed I had been all these years about my eyes and vision. I met with Dr. Jacquelin Le who really took her time with me to understand my lifestyle and explain how it affects the health and vision of my eyes. She seemed genuinely concerned about my eyes and I could tell how passionate she was about her profession and my satisfaction. My time with Dr. Le was extremely thorough and not rushed as I had grown accustomed to over the years. She recommended several brands of contacts with different price points to meet my needs. After selecting one she gave me a pair to try out and scheduled a follow up appointment with me to see how they were working out for me and to make sure I was happy with them before ordering a whole set. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Monica helped me out post-exam and already had a couple of frames picked out for me. I usually have a hard time finding glasses that suit my face and fit me well, but each pair she picked out was a good fit and I had a hard time choosing one. I didn't end up purchasing a pair since I mostly wear contacts, but I am stoked to know that there are a few frames there that I like should I decide to get them in the future. Monica even made notes about the frames I like so she could refer to them when I come back. Oh yeah, one more very cool factoid: they use a relatively new technology called Optomap which allows the doctor to thoroughly examine the inside of your eyes without dilating them! This is huge since I used to have to opt out of dilation due to the ensuing blurred vision and not being able to drive myself home thereby preventing me from getting a comprehensive examination. Dr Chou is great. He is the only doctor who has made the glasses process pleasant. I always feel strangely pressured during the "one or two?" test, but not with Dr Chou. Plus, he really knows his craft. The office is run smoothly and I have had no problems with insurance. They got me replacement frames for free one time - super helpful. I met with Dr. Chou.The front office staff was cordial I was instantly at ease with his mild-manner and calm approach. Dealing with eye disease is never an easy task. I was given many tests that in my 20+ years I had never been asked to do. . He really wanted to get the best information for my eyes. He explained everything. I was having problems with my contacts before I went to these guys. The Dr. Worked with me and let me try many different contact lenses and even gave me samples to test drive for the week. I have eye insurance and have gone to Costco the last 4 years. That might tell you about my last eye doctor (Costco doesn't take insurance) I was advised to go to Eyelux for a lasik consultation to ensure I was a candidate. I went in and the assistants were very friendly and professional and ran me through a bunch of tests. Had my eyes scanned and puffed and everything else. Dr. Chou was very professional and talked me through everything and advised me of options, concerns, etc. If you are in need of a prescription for whatever or just want your eyes checked I would highly recommend Eyelux. read more

I decided to take advantage of my VSP insurance through work and get my first eye exam in several years. I was able to get an appointment within a few days of when I called at a time that worked well for me. When I showed up, I was impressed with the layout of the front office. It felt spacious, yet not overly empty, and the entire office had an upscale, clean feeling to it. The new patient paperwork was short and straightforward, and I was taken to the back quicker than I expected. My exam with Dr. Michel was quick, yet comprehensive. She walked me through explanations of what she was looking for during the tests, and why she drew the conclusions she did. At the end of my exam she explained to me my options going forward and some of the benefits to each of my options. Additionally, she informed me of some of the potential optical-related side effects of some medication that I have been taking, which wasn't something I had known about. 5 stars for the office and Dr. Michel - I plan to return for my next annual exam! read more
