I was very unhappy with my experience at the Florence Eyemart Express. I had the prescription and the frames - just needed new lenses. I thought I could get them filled in an hour, but no. That's only available for basic lenses, which then I was advised I would not be able to see out of. What? When I asked for them anyway, I was refused. Add to that the price. I had two frames. My order for one of the frames had already been written up, and I was shocked at the price. I decided to take my second frames to Costco, and the price was HALF. I NEVER leave reviews anywhere because quite frankly I don't feel like taking the time to but I can't help myself this time!! Samantha Horton (General Manager / Optician) provided me with OUTSTANDING service a few weeks ago when I went to go pick out new frames. I had been having SUCH a challenging time finding glasses that were comfortable for me. I had no idea that buying glasses could be so complicated! (I had been a contact lens wearer for decades up until recently when my eyes became very dry). Samantha knew exactly what frames were and were not an appropriate fit for me. I requested an appointment two weeks ago. It was confirmed as received and I called today only to find out the office manager opted to DENY my appointment WITHOUT telling me. I've never been there before. No reason given. Is it because I don't have insurance? What a bizarre practice. NEVER will go there. read more

I received very good service here after my first visit. The first time you go, you should probably know there is a sign in sheet off to the right. I was only one of two people in the store when I walked in so it wasn't a problem, but some of the people who came in after me knew about the sign in sheet and others did not. Just a heads up. I can't remember the last time I left a review for any business - but I was so impressed with Coleen at this location that I made a note to myself to do just that, and I'm following up on that. Here's the shortened version (I was two paragraphs in and only half way to my conclusion, so I'm re-writing this). I went in on a VERY busy afternoon, and although I had to wait for about 25 minutes to be seen, I appreciated the sign-in list so people were still taken in order. It was Coleen who helped me and I was so impressed, particularly under the busy circumstances, that she was so chipper, collected, professional and bend-over-backwards customer service oriented. As I was in for my wife, without fully understanding at the time that my wife needed to be there for specific eye measurements (although I had her prescription in hand), Coleen gave me specific instructions, spent probably ten minutes looking through every shelf and drawer in the place for the frames my wife had selected a few days prior, and gave me clear instructions on what my wife could do to get same-day glasses later that night. To be clear, especially later in the afternoon, they can't always get you same-day glasses, but my wife had started a new job and was having a very hard time wearing contacts to work, so she was looking forward to getting her glasses as soon as possible. She returned later that evening and met with Coleen as I had. Coleen had her frames ready to go and my wife had brand new glasses about 15 minutes later. Now that's fantastic service. The sales girl was so nice and welcoming, but then the tech working on my lens and talked to me about why getting those frames was a bad idea with about as much tact as a board to the face. He literally talked me out of a guaranteed sale for no reason - my current glasses already had thick lenses so why would I care about that? read more

Where is the "Express"? They advertise speed but it has been over 2 weeks since my wife and I ordered glasses and they are not ready yet. Anything but plain lenses have to be sent out. This morning they told me on the phone that they had over 50 pairs to have done but only now they tell me. Plus they were significantly slower and more expensive than Walmart. If they are not significantly BETTER than Walmart next time I will go back to Walmart. read more

Because I have an inner ear / balance disorder buying glasses that actually work for me is a major ordeal. Other eyeglass stores I've used have had to remake the glasses 3-4 times before I could even use them, and they still were not right. The store was packed when my wife and I got there. We signed in and waited. The two "gentlemen" working acted busy instead of taking the next name on the list. It became obvious that they were waiting for the little blonde teenager's name to be next. Work is NOT the place to pick up "chicks". Anyway, before her name was called we were called by Erica. I explained that I have an inner ear / balance disorder and getting glasses is a hassle. She listened and said she was going to go "old school" for my measuring. She worked her magic and the order was placed. We received a text stating our glasses were ready for pickup. I was expecting the same old routine, no, they don't work, they need to be remade etc. I was MORE than pleasantly surprise to put the glasses on and actually see perfectly. No adjustments, no fishbowl effect... nothing but clear vision. I couldn't have been happier. Erica is a wonderful employee and should be valued as such. She took the time needed to gain information and didn't treat us as though we were at a drive thru window. She nailed my glasses the very first time, a feat that has not happened ever before. And yes, I've tried two of the "Big" eyeglass companies. When we need to update our prescriptions I would NOT hesitate to go to Eyemart Express again, as long as Erica waits on us. read more

My mother and I waited for an hour and a half to get served. Normally this would not be a problem because they were busy so a wait is understandable. However, the problem occurred when they were unorganized and unprepared for this rush. They served not one, not two, but three people that came in after us before sitting down with my mother and I. By the third person it had been roughly an hour and a half so we just left. I recommend they make a queue or some sort of list to know exactly who was there first. Because of this unpreparedness My mother and I will not be going here again unless they fix this problem. read more

I have shopped here for glasses before. I got my first pair here and would buy maybe 5 more throughout the years. Recently, however, I've been purchasing my glasses from Warby Parker because I like the frame options more. I received my pair of WP glasses for Christmas and needed to get them adjusted (because you order them online). I go into the store and the woman helping me began by asking if they were Eyemart glasses. Once I had told her they were not she asked me if they were bought online. When I told her they were she tried to ridicule me for buying the frames. She said things like: -"That's why I don't like ordering glasses online. You don't get to talk someone about them." You see, every time I have bought glasses in store, I DREAD talking awkwardly to a sales rep. it's pointless and embarrassing. At this point, I didn't think much of her snarky comments but she continued on. -"I mean, I get that glasses *are cheaper online* but..." I literally had to stop and stare at her. How was she going to assume I couldn't afford Eyemart glasses? Maybe she thought I was cheap? Either way, it was SO unprofessional and SNARKY. After the comment about cheapness, I told her I haven't found any frames I've liked in store for years. She looked at me with a b*tch face and said, "....We have over a thousand pairs." Yes, you have plenty of pairs but don't offer any of my style. Maybe this sales rep should have kept her mouth shut. It was unnecessary for her to be so unprofessional as to be rude to me! I know it may seem like I am overreacting but she was being snarky and almost standoff-ish. I will not take attitude from employees. Disrespectfulness and attitude towards customers is unacceptable. read more

If I had the ability to rate something with zero stars, I would. Absolutely an awful experience. I would have GLADLY spent the extra money through my regular eye doctor. My family and I entered the store (5) of us, with the anticipation of buying glasses for two people. There were 3 adults, and 2 teenagers. The waiting area was small. The entire store was open, and very cold. In total, there were 6 other people in the store. First off, there is a TINY little sign that says "sign in here please" on the front desk. They get peeved when you do not sign in. The store was busy, but not what I would consider overwhelming. The gentleman behind the desk was very loud and yelled "MAKE SURE EVERYBODY SSSSIGNS IN!" Really, it was too loud. Very, very loud. There were two people working, both behind the desk. After about 10 minutes, he yells the name and we approach. We told him we were there to buy glasses, and he just looked frazzled. He asked us to hold on, while he answered the phone and EVERYONE in the store heard the conversation, YES, this gentleman was WAY TOO LOUD. He took 5 phone calls when we were there. Keep in mind while trying to "help" other customers. We waited once again, and picked out 2 sets of frames. He very quickly and very loudly was helping other people, and we waited by the desk with our frames we had picked out. The gentleman that helped us in the first place was running around the store like a chicken with his head cut off. We waited at the desk, thinking he would see us waiting, as he had just helped us. NOPE. Didn't stop calling people's names. Just kept helping everyone else. After 45 minutes of this we walked out. You better have a lot of time, a lot of patience, and a good set of headphones if you plan on purchasing glasses in this place. read more

I needed a eye exam and forgot to make an appointment, I went in to see if I could do a walk in and was 1. Not greeted 2. They were rude and VERY unhelpful. I ended up walking out because of how rude the people at the desk were. You lost a customer! Instead I went up the street to a different eye place and spent my money there. Unlike the previous Yelper, I had a pretty good experience. I was seen for my exam as a walk in and didn't even wait 15 mins. The doctor and her staff were friendly, professional and made solid recommendations for my frames/lenses. They did have a large selection of frames but the pricing is a little confusing (just like EVERY other optical shop) so it was a little pricier than I'd wanted. I still walked out with 3 pairs of glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses for less than $300. All four pairs were ready in just over an hour which was pretty impressive given the number of customers and the fact that they were troubleshooting a piece of equipment at the time. All in all, I'll go back. They're not super-stars by any means but they were friendly, professional and reasonably priced. read more

"0' - Star's not one ! OMG ! stay away from this place! I too had an absolutely awful experience! On 1/13/14 I drove the 35 miles to the Florence Eyemart store; I walked in the door just after 9am when the employee's got there. I signed in and waited, and waited. When called to the desk, I told them I need to have my eyes checked for new glasses. I was told I needed to go next door for the exam, so I go next door, and wait again. They did all the normal tests and I'm told by the Doc. that my eyes look good from the picture she took and she sees no cataracts, they look healthy. I go back next door again, and sign back in again and wait, and wait and wait. Finally I get to just give them the paper and the frames I picked out, I'm told I'll get a text message when they are done. So I go shopping and walking around some local stores as I wait. A hour and forty five minutes pass and no text as yet. So I go back to Eyemart and sign in again, and wait. When I'm called to the desk I ask if my glasses are done as yet. I'm told that they had broke one of the Len's and it would be another hour. So back to the Mall and walking around it for over another hour plus. Then two hours have passed and no text from them. So back to Eyemart I go ... sign in and WAIT again, and wait and wait. Called to the desk, I'm told again, that they have broken the Len's yet a 2nd time and it would now be yet another hour. It is now 2:30 pm I wait until 3:30 and no text. Yup back to Eyemart I go. Sign in and wait! I'm called to the desk again; I'm told they are 'almost' done with them. So I wait, and wait and wait, and wait and wait. It is now 4:40 pm. I go up to the desk and after trying to get someone's attention (with no luck) I interrupt one of the clerks and ask if she could check on my glasses for me. I'm asked instead if I signed in! Now I' getting pissed to say the least, but for me I stay pretty calm. I told her "yes I've signed in about five fucking times now!" "Are my glass's ready or not!? Now another employee over hears this conversation and comes over. I never notice her name but she is a manager. She go's in the lab to check on my glasses. She comes out and tells me the story of how my Len's were broken not once but three times, and how sorry she is about it. She tells me they'll be right out in just a few minutes. They were as she said done in just a couple of minutes. She brings them out and I try them on. OMG! I'm seeing double, two of everything. I'm about to freak out now. She takes them in to the Doctors office next door. Comes back and tells me the Doctor wants to see me again. But this time it is a different Doctor. (the other got off work 8 hrs have now passed) This Doc. Tells me because my right eye is so bad the lens is thicker and that's why they are probably breaking the lens in its making. She then tells me that looking at the picture the first Doc. Took that I have very bad cataracts, and that if I don't do something about them I'll probably be blind by the time I'm 65 (I'm 61 now) ... I keep my mouth shut and say nothing what the first Doc had told me. She gives me a new prescription that takes down the right eye a little because my brain can't handle the major change in the right lens so she'll cut it in half to see if it's any better. The manager and I go back to the store (thank God I didn't have to sign in again!) She says it won't be until the next day that I'll get my glasses. So I drive the 35 miles back home. The next day we get a major snow storm and I have to wait until late afternoon to try and get back up there. But I get there and, will now I'm the only customer in the place. I don't need to sign in, how about that. I ask for my glasses a young man go's to find them, I put them on and they seem 'somewhat' better, at least I'm not seeing two of everything, but everything sure looks blurrier than it should, certainly not clear at all. I tell her this, and I'm told it'll take me some time to get used to new prescription. She then offers me a 'free' pair of glasses for my troubles, but to wait a week and come back to see if these work out or not. It has now been two weeks with these new glasses, I can't see shit and they give me headaches. But I keep them on and keep trying to get used to them. Sure as hell can't read small print at all! Guess I'm stuck with them, why go back and go through another whole day of that crap. Just for a 'free' 2nd pair of glasses that I can't see out of. read more

My husband recently got his eyes examined at another location and went to Eyemart for the lenses and frames. Found out the prescription was wrong and went to the Eyemart Express eye doctor for the correct prescription. However, that was just the beginning. My husband needed no-line transitions, so after waiting two months Eyemart could never get the no-lines bifocal correct. They even told my husband they would call him each time (this happened four times) the eye glasses were ready to be picked-up and never did. They would never admit that they were in the wrong doing when it came to his prescription. My husband finally went to another business and the first time they made his lenses it was absolutely perfect. One more thing to add, we were not the only customers who had ordered the no-line bifocal with transitions and got bad lenses. Not to mention, they never have glasses ready in about an hour. Very disappointed in this place, I know I will not go back to them. Erika is nice, but not worth the headache (husband got them from wrong prescription in lenses) this place brings with bad lenses. read more

After being recommended, I made an appointment with the optometrist. We were 5 minutes early for our appointment which was completely unnecessary as we then waited 45 minutes while the walk ins were taken ahead of us. we were then seen by what appeared to be a couple of high school kids and waited some more to see the Dr. Finally saw the Dr. for almost 5 minutes for exam. She told me she was making a slight adjustment to my prescription and a large adjustment on my husbands. Our 1 hour glasses, 2 pair for $98(no line bi-focals) became 1 1/2 hour, $220.40. No adjustment on pick-up. Also grinding marks still on lens, Spots on lens. Unusable. My husband took them back and they got the grinding marks off and told him to bring them in with me for adjustment. Went back got adjustment and are now usableonly in emergency. As there was in reality, no discernable change in the prescription, I am wearing my old glasses. My husband had to have his glasses ordered as he can only wear glass lenses. Again, drove in when got the call they were in to be picked up. Again was unable to see through the new glasses. Everything was blurred and he nearly fell down when trying to see at distance. At this point he threw a fit in the crowded store when told he "has to make an appointment and see the Dr. again" Store clerk eventually agreed to a refund on his single pair at $263.53 but said since we paid with check we would have to wait for corporate to mail us a check. Save your money. Nearly $500 glasses and $120 exams none of which were effective. You can beat ANYWHERE! I also have to make another trip to return my glasses so we're out $120 exam and total 360 miles driving for NOTHING! read more

Just returned from Eyemart Express in Florence, Ky. Excellent experience!!!! Received a good, quick, comphrenensive eye exam, and two pairs of glasses for $270.00. The entire process took less than 3 hours. The staff in the optometrist's office as well as the opticians were very professional. And the facility is located in a great location. Plenty of places to eat, shop, etc., while they make your glasses. No unnecessary waiting around doing nothing!!!! Strongly recommend this place!!!!! read more

Very expensive, unprofessional not at all like the T.V. Add. The ten dollar frames were a joke. Two frames with line bifocal. One transition lens and one sunglasses @ the next higher price frame above ten dollars is fifty nine dollars each, out the door was one hundred fifty eight dollars. You can for get the ready in about an hour. They were to busy to get done that day they told me they would be done at one p.m. The next day. So I called at one p.m. And was told it would be about an other hour. Well, it's been two hours and still waiting. For get the add. Two pair no line bifocal lenses in a bout an hour. I had an eye exam and purchased no line bifocals from EyeMart Express . The doctor's staff was very pleasant and the eye exam was thorough, Dr. Arnett reviewed my photos of the back of my eye and was able to send my family doctor a diabetes report. The office is modern and has lots of technology. I took my prescription next door to EyeMart Express. Pam was very helpful. They were able to make my glasses in 70 minutes and sent me a text when they were done. The glasses look great and I see great out of them. I will definitely be back next year! read more
