This is the only eye place with an on-sight lab that would help us from Chico to Redding. My husband had a warranty for his prescription glasses frames. We could not get the lenses into the new frames, even another glasses place tried to fit them and could not get one side in. We called probably 10 different places trying to find an in-house lab and no one would help us or they no longer had a lab! We finally got the number for eyemart express from Lens Crafters. When we called Roland answered with his big personality and when we described what we needed he said well, just come on down. I explained we lived an hour from them and I would need more of a definitive answer if they would attempt to help us. He said well, I'm with a client and then I need to talk to his lab guy who'd been there for like 30 years & he called me back. I wasn't holding my breath and then about 20 min later he called and said well can do it, I said we are on our way! When we got there he welcomed us in and said have a seat. They grabbed the frames and lenses and within 5 min they were in. Hugo in the lab was simply amazing. Roland shook our hand and said, have a wonderful day. He found the exact same kind, popped out and replaced the lenses, and I was done it two minutes. I was prepared to run other errands for an hour, but it seriously took two minutes. I would really like to speak to the district manager for this place! it was unbelievable how a staff member had not even had a lunch or break at 4pm and instead of the store manager relieving her he ignored the room and left for the day! that is not how a manager should support their staff!! then I would like to talk to the district manager regarding an incident I experienced with a staff member there are some amazing people that work there that are NOT supported by leadership and others that have really bad behavior without consequence! Outstanding!!!!! Stopped last minute after vacation... needed my RayBan daily glasses (favorite frames) updated with progressive, auto tint lenses..... purchased their best. Was given two weeks till complete. They were completed within1.5 weeks! Picked up today. Previous purchases elsewhere usually had major adjustments and often lenses have had to be remade. Not this time! Seriously thrilled! Put them on and all three areas of progressives were clear as clear can be! Visually excellent with updated script! Schedule online does not match when they are open, I called on a Saturday and was scheduled for a Thursday, both days said they were closed on the website. I called on a Saturday to make an appointment for the following week, they only had Thursday open, so I made the appointments. I got a call Monday afternoon asking if I could change to Wednesday, I could not, my husband had already requested the day off and re-worked his weeks schedule for the appointment. They said OK, then immediately called me back and cancelled my appointment. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. So unprofessional!!! read more

My glasses and my wife's glasses both needed parts from almost a year ago and Micah repaired both sets of glasses that we can use as backup's just in case we loose the new pair we plan the buy. She is always very helpful and courteous and eager to help you with your choices and selections she makes buying glasses and frames a breeze. Never pushy or giving you the hard sell. We had glasses made there for 12 year old nephew with autism and I can't begin to express how patient and thoughtful and accommodating the staff was. Micah is amazing. She radiates positivity, incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and she goes above and beyond to ensure her customers leave satisfied. My girl Micah is an absolute Angel and miracle worker! My glasses for nine years broke so that I had no temple on the right side. She gave me such an honest opinion between frames I selected in store and another pair I was considering from Denmark. Anyhow I was thinking to get the 2 pair back up for $40 special but the lenses without anti reflective glare was not something I wanted. So instead... drum roll please Micah says she may be able to fix my broken glasses temporarily till I get the pair I really want. She jokingly says they may be Frankenstein frames when she's done but I just wanted something functional till I got new frames. N just like that she goes to work and puts this clear temple on to match my white frames best she can and I Love them absolutely! They feel more durable than before! I did my Happy Dance on the way out !! So incredibly thankful for Micah how she went the extra mile to help me restore my glasses! My husband and I have been going to Eyemart Express for several years now and have never had any problems. Love that you can get your new glasses in less than an hour most times. Dr. Jonathan Hill's bedside manner is informative and he takes as much time as need be to make sure you understand 100% about your eye health. On top of all that, the prices are far different (less) from when we use to buy our glasses from the optometrist's office that we use to go to. 5/24/2023 - ZERO STARS! INTIMIDATION, LIES AND UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES! My experience at the Redding CA Eyemart Express has been very deceiving and misleading with staff lying about insurance reimbursements to get you to purchase glasses under the false pretense that insurance will cover them. I was told by staff during my purchase that everyone gets a near full refund when they turn in their receipts to their insurance company instead of Eyemart Express billing directly in their office. This first lie caused me to purchase the glasses out of pocket at nearly $350 dollars under the guise that I would be reimbursed. I received only $70 from my insurance company after I filed. I contacted the manager at the Redding CA Eyemart Express who blamed me for not doing my research on what my insurance covers. After trying to work with her to refund the glasses, I was lied to again with her adamantly telling me it would be considered insurance fraud for me to return them! After contacting my insurance company, they were appalled at the blatant lie and concerned that her tactic was to intimidate and bully me into feeling as though I was committing fraud by asking for a standard refund. I called the manager back and acknowledged the insurance company and my concerns with being clearly lied to. The manager said it's normal practice to say 'some' customers get reimbursed, but there's always that chance you may not. I had asked to speak to her direct supervisor and she refused, saying she was the only one I was allowed to have contact with for this issue. Being a single mom, I was unable to get groceries for over a week and reminded her that this was a very deceiving practice to customers who could have simply gone online and purchased better quality glasses for less than $30. She snidely advised that I go to a food bank for assistance, still refusing my reimbursement. That was the only resolution she would provide. On April 19, 2023 I went into the store and brought in my glasses the same manager was very hostile and proceeded to argue with me on how they never issue refunds, instead of apologizing for lying and intimidating me to begin with. She then proceeded to partially reimburse me, NOT in full, stating the warranty was not reimbursable eventho the glasses were barely worn. After requesting my money in full AGAIN, she became more hostile and told me I was never welcome back to Eyemart Express ever again. When I checked my banking account, to verify the reimbursement, my account showed she had charged my debit card without my authorization instead of reimbursing, resulting in my account being overdrawn. I became concerned of her motives in the store when she started laughing at me when I acknowledged that I should be reimbursed the full amount not partial. This felt intentional, resulting in a fraudulent debit being removed from my bank account by the manager. As of 5/25/23 the unauthorized charge has been removed, however they still did not refund me in full. I am concerned for anyone who lives paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford to be taken advantage of based on misleading claims of reimbursement and lying to intimidate customers into back down from requesting a refund. I would NEVER recommend this company especially the Redding California branch. read more

Dr. Hill was my eye dr years ago when he was in Costco. I wasn't aware that he was still in town, I just knew Costco had decent prices and changed drs quite often. I was in need of a contact renewal and I called different offices that were quoting me $250 for an exam and a contact prescription which seemed outrageous to me when I paid around $100 without insurance in the past for the same thing when Dr. Hill was at Costco. It was actually a Costco employee who told me Dr. Hill was still in town and just had a different location at Eyemart. I called and was quoted roughly the same price I was use to paying previously, which was terrific! The pricing was a wonderful find, but knowing I would be seeing a great dr again was, without a doubt, the most important aspect for me. I have been to two other optometrists the last couple of years since seeing Dr Hill, and none have compared. Today I had my appointment with Dr. Hill and he was so gracious and thorough, as he always has been. He actually listened to my needs and adjusted my prescription appropriately. I left smiling because my sight was so much better than when I arrived! The last dr I had seen somehow missed that I needed my prescription adjusted. Not only did Dr. Hill help me today, he helped my brother also who was in need of glasses. My brother hasn't been to an optometrist in quite some time, and he requires glasses for driving. His glasses had broken and he tried taping them together to get by until he could find a reasonable dr to update his prescription and get some new glasses. When I mentioned my brother's situation to Dr Hill and his assistant, they got him in this afternoon right away. My brother sent me a photo of his new glasses with a big smile, which made me smile again. I will be back! Thank you so much Dr. Hill for helping me and my brother out and being so kind and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing an excellent and appropriately priced optometrist. read more

Second visit, first time was amazing! Girl was super joce, helpful, great customer service! Second time was this evening, raced to get there after work so I got there 40 minutes to close, woman ahead of me was helped for good 20 minutes with no attitude. My turn and I'm told they can't do anything because they close in 20 minutes. Ok so I giver her my items, she throws tablet on table obviously irritated so I ask should I come back? I get response with eye roll of she doesn't care they can't do anything anyway because they're closing. Already noted and totally ok and stated that and apologized for being late but, but the attitude and repeated point of when they close I put stuff back and left. I understand the closing, I raced to get out of work myself! I get it! But to be so nice and take time with others and so rude to me I just can't understand. I dealt with the manager jacob he was awesome and up front with me. Got prescription sunglasses and regular prescription glasses made . They didnt have the anti glare in stock for my standard glasses and Jacob recommended I wait because the glare could bother me later . I opted to get them without it so they could finish them today. Needless to say it took 88 minutes until I got my text saying they were all done. $325 for two pair , cant go wrong. VERY PLEASED. 5/5 all around read more

She made everything possible that my glasses were perfect, along with the help of the General Manager. My glasses were made GREAT but my eyes did not like the prescription. After much irritation i decided to go back and get my eyes reexamen. This time by Dr. Hill (the doctor associated with EyeMart) and had to new and better prescription.
