Absolutely awful service. The eye doctor is never there. They screwed me out of my warranty and getting a new exam in time. Never go here!!

Just left there after meeting Roland. I was just about to purchase nose pads, when he stopped me. Took my glasses, re-adjusted, cleaned them and made sure they were fitting properly. Best they have fit ever. I will definitely come here, or the closest one to my house, when I need a new pair. Highly recommend. It's nice to meet people who actually like their job. Roland,you rock. Great customer service!!! I took my eyeglass prescription in today to order a pair of glasses. I was greeted by Roland as I entered the vision center "would you like your glasses cleaned for free by a professional?" Well of course I would. I then was greeted by Crystal and she proceeded to assist me in finding a good looking pair of frames and continued by examining me for a proper fitting of bi-focals. What I was really impressed with is that Crystal assisted me and then invited Roland back to go over the order and make sure everything was done properly. Quite the team of professionals. I can hardly wait to get my new glasses. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Tuesday 7/25/2023 6pm, Sandy claims she is the manager but she shouldn't even be employed here with the way she speaks and treats customers. Tried to order my girlfriends contacts over the phone and they required payment at order not on pickup so had to go in to pay with cash. Total was $117.00 and gave the lady two $100.00 bills and was told they couldn't break it and I would have to go into the store to purchase something to get smaller bills. Told her if they are going to charge more than a hundred dollars they should be able to give change for a hundred dollars and Sandy responded with "I just work here." I told her I'd pay $100 cash and the rest on a card and she started to turn towards the computer and continued making snarky comments and being upset that I tried to pay using two hundreds. When telling her then she shouldn't get an attitude she told me that I could leave and she wouldn't let us order the contacts at all. Requested a managers name and was told she was the manager which is funny because I thought she just worked there? Requested a copy of the prescription so we can get them filled elsewhere and she couldn't provide it. Girlfriend stated this lady has been rude to her every single time she has had to deal with her and I believe it. I would be ashamed to know Sandy is representing my company in the way she did this evening. read more

Great experience with the Walmart Vision Center! I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and was able to get one for this morning. The receptionist was very helpful in answering my questions and finding a time that worked for me. When I arrived today, I was promptly greeted and shown where to check in by one of the staff. There was a little wait, but no more than 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dr. Juliet took his time to make sure I found the right contacts. I tried on about 4 different pairs to ensure the proper fit. I was able to order the contacts I needed and have them shipped to my home. I also saw the staff working with a disgruntled customer who had to wait longer than expected. They were very patient and kind even though dealing with a challenging situation. read more

Roland was awesome. Everybody there was very nice and helpful, I had never had glasses before and they helped me out. Roland really stood out though, he was up and happy to help and didnt pressure me to pick anything too expensive, and was trying to help me find a pair of glasses that I liked, and when I took a while he was patient and tried helping me out with any savings or way to save money. The very worst bottom of the barrel care. If you like being treated like cattle in a revolving door of massive amounts of appointments scheduled way too close together, a social services atmosphere with the look and feel of a McDonalds waiting room, grungy looking assistants and a cavalier doctor who really couldn't care less, then you've found your Mecca. This service was the best I've ever had.. Roland approached me asking me what can I help you with... I took off my sunglasses and asked if he could match a frame just like these. In less than 2 minutes he took me to the pair that almost perfectly matched...Bam done deal! But then he investigated my insurance provider and calculated a price for the very best quality lense ... I chose wallmart vision center over my primary network provider and the deal lens crafters had for me too... Roland is a down to earth but mor than that he had me laughing alot... his partner Sandy who worked with him was the best tag team player and was funny in her own right.. If there was a negative star they would get it ! Worst place ever ! My insurance company Anthem Blue Cross are as crooked as the banking industry ! Four months after I got contacts they sent ME a bill WTF !!!! I was charged originally for an eye exam which should have been included; which I wasn't told about until AFTER my exam. So to date I've now paid as much as the contacts were !! Don't get F@#cked by this or ANY Wal-Mart Vision Center. You've been warned. read more

I had previously paid for "two" eyeglass exams at the same time. One for me and one for my wife. That's quite a bit of money. On my prescription I asked for long distance and computer distance. I ordered both of these from an online service. The long distance was perfect. But the short distance was totally off. wasting the money on that pair. I simply asked the woman optometrist to verify the short distance part of the exam. She instead told me I needed to have ANOTHER EXAM! for her to do so! The difference between the long and short is a matter of adding a "power" value from the known good prescription. As they are perfectly fine. I told her I dont want another exam because my long distance is perfect. So it wouldn't have mattered what the exam said,. I didn't want a "different" prescription regardless. Only to set the power value on the short distance. She was very snotty and rude with me. Telling me my prescription is old! Even though I DONT want my prescription CHANGED! And she isn't going to even look at it, even though the place was empty with everybody just standing around! I told her she has lost me for life, and I am going to Costco for prescriptions from now on. And she (the optometrist )said GREAT do so. So since she has recommended Costco as "Great" and want's to chase customers out of her department. Then I suggest everybody just go over to Costco from now on.... I have a tip for anybody who wants to use the optometrist department at Costco but is not a member. You do not need to be a member to use them. Just walk in, and tell the guy at the door your going to the optimist, and he will let you right in. The prices are comparable. AND another tip. You can simply get a prescription and walk out the door and order a pair from one of several online eyeglass providers. I have been doing this for years. It will be around 35 bucks frame and lens if you catch the right deal. read more

I have been wearing glasses for 43 years and my latest pair (2 pair, actually) are very likely the best I have ever gotten! Drs. Juliet and McDonald did a great job getting me into the right progressive lenses (clear/transitions and sunglasses) for my very-vision-sensitive work environment. Look. I'll go on record for HATING Walmart probably more than anyone. I do NOT shop there. My family does not shop there. But I had gotten glasses from Dr. juliet there in the past and they were great. A couple of years ago when I swore off shopping at Walmart, I went to another optometrist in town. That was a disaster! This time I capitulated and went back to Drs. Juliet and McDonald at the Walmart Vision Center and could NOT be more pleased with the result. The staff handled my insurance and the fitting well. I have been to others here in Redding in the past but have not been more pleased than I am with this lastest experience. If you are like me and detest the whole Walmart experience, just put on a disguise, ignore the Walmartians as best you can for an hour and get your eyes done there. It's worth it. read more

Sadly, I have never taken the time to write a review for any of the other good experiences I regularly receive when out and about but this one was special..... I went into the Walmart at the Redding location on DANA Drive, looking for an OTC eye drops and ended up loyal customers of their First Site Vision services. My husband had rubbed his eye swollen shut from an unknown foreign object when he was away on a business trip. This was a Monday. Could of been a metal fragment since he works in the automotive industry, who knows. All I know is that his eye was blood red, very painful, swollen and was catching everyones concerned attention. He asked if I could call around for a quote and make an appt for when he returns 4 days later. We recently moved from SF so I do not know the area well and we do not have vision insurance with our work health package. I called 4 places, all other eye Dr's wanted to charge us for an emergency visit which started at the $275.00 start price. Or $130 as a new patient, then charged separate for the exam, separate for any medication prescription ect PLUS next appt wasn't available for 2-3 weeks out...... Day 4 passes, he returns from his business trip, its now Thursday night. He's in excruciating pain, the pressure is intense, his eye has a large bubble in the eye so we decide to go to in as an ER visit first thing in the morning....... It's now 7am on Friday morning, while he slept in a bit. I left for WalMart before we go into ANY eye dr office as a walk-in ER visit..... I was shopping for more OTC counter eyes drops when I caught the staff from Walmart First Site Vision Center smiling at me. I had my doubts but I went in for a chat or even a suggestion. I was blown away!! The offer an eye Dr exam for $58 !!! I explained how my husband needs an eye exam badly and may need medicated prescription beyond the prescription for new eye wear...he is 49 yrs and needing new glasses. Knowing this, they could of quoted us an ER visit. I was able to make an appointment the same day! He was able to see them by 11am, receive a full eye exam, apparently a foreign object may have scratched the cornea but naturally was healing on its own but ever so slowly. He said the DR was very nice with genuine concerned for his eye and not if he can make more money off of our ER visit. By noon he had a steroidal prescription to start the healing process WHICH WAS FILLED On SITE at the WALMART Pharmacy. Its day 6, his eye is returning to normal. $58.00 included the prescription and exam....amazing. He will return when his eye returns to completely normal to get his glasses. I am a teacher, he is a mechanic, we do not make much of money- so kind,low cost, professional experiences like this makes a huge impression on us. I am very grateful to this office and will return myself to get new glasses. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!I would give more stars if I could.
