At no point did I feel they were trying to upsell me on anything. All the frames I tried on were top-quality, and again there was no upsell during either the frame-picking or the lens-picking phase; just an informative review of the different options and whether they seemed to fit my needs. There was an adjustment that needed to be made to the replacement lenses at first, and they did this for free in a timely way. The store has a special Zeiss machine that measures angles for glasses faster and more accurately than most machines. The store also has, in addition to high-quality traditional frames from brands like Lindberg or Masunaga, AI glasses that support prescription lenses. In each visit, the staff offered me complimentary cleaning supplies. On some visits, they also offered champagne, coffee, and even cake! By far the best hospitality and quality of any optical store I've ever visited. I'll be a customer for as long as I live in NYC.

They do superb, careful work and stand by it, and I believe their prices are fair and in line with what you would pay elsewhere (except for those online places, if you feel like gambling with your eye health and vision). Also they've had very little turnover of staff in the decade I've been getting my glasses there, so everyone who works there is an experienced professional. And they still have a wonderfully curated selection of frames to pick from, including lots of adventurous, bold styles as well as all the solid basics you would expect. I always find a pair I love.

First and foremost, SEE lenses see the worst I've ever had in my life. They wore down to the point…read morewhere they were could after just too years. But also, recently brought in a pair of frames I had purchased from SEE because they were starting to fade a little. The worker there at the time, took out an alcohol pad and began cleaning the frames. Not a day later, the frames were 50% worst than the day before. I looked online to find that you should never clean frames with alcohol, as it wears down and fades the plastic. When I finally got in touch with the manager - Jason after a few calls, he simply told me to bring the frames in and that I would have to pay to have them polished. When I told him I lived in NJ and that it was too much for me to pay a toll, congestion fee, and parking to do bring them in and that I found a place in Nj, he simply said "Good". He never apologized for or even acknowledged what was done to the frames with the alcohol swabs. Can't make this up. I'd say if you can get cheap frames from them on sale, do this, but don't get lenses from them and don't expect good customer service.

This lady took one look at them, adjusted them exactly once, and they were instantly perfect. Then I looked around the shop and saw that, even though the selection was small, there were quite a number of pairs I wanted to try on - whoever picked the selection of frames here has amazing taste. High-end and middle-high-end, some really funky and cute selections. Now I'm wondering if I can afford to buy a second pair of glasses this year even though my insurance won't cover it. Anyhow, this is a nice shop and deserves your support!
