I have been a patient/customer of EyeOptics for about 15 years (back to the old building). I have a complex prescription and continue coming to EyeOptics because Dr. Yurko understands and is careful to be sure the new glasses are correct. My only criticism is that the quality of opticians varies greatly, some get the insurance, some are great at frame help, some understand why certain prescriptions need to go in certain types of frames, but nobody (since Mr. Bill) seems to be able to do it all. read more

They are an ok optometry center. The service you get there is on par with the level of service everywhere else. I also really like Costco, they have a great selection. Eye optics has an okay selection, most of their frames are designer, but that is their demographic. I do think it is worth mentioning though, since some insurance plans might not cover the entire cost of some of their frames due to the fact that they are mostly designer brands. I also had a minor issue where they ordered my frames in the incorrect color. The sales person showed me a style and asked me if I wanted silver or gold. I preferred the gold ones so we took that pair and started filling out paperwork. I distinctly remember sitting at the desk with the gold ones, however at some point I guess the silver was what was ordered. When I came in to pick them up, I mentioned that they were supposed to be gold, and the person helping me referenced the order form and said that I had ordered silver. I guess it must have gotten written down wrong, but I know I was sitting with the gold display pair at the end of the transaction. So, I don't really know what happened, they didn't offer to fix the mistake, they kind of just justified the mistake by saying that I had "ordered silver." I really needed frames as mine were cracked and breaking more and more each day, so I just left with the silver. At the end of the day it is no big deal! I can see and am happy with the frames, but I just thought it was worth mentioning to others who may be considering shopping here! read more

I had a really enjoyable experience and can't say enough great things about EyeOptics. I thought the staff was exceptionally nice, the business was impeccably clean and the technology was first rate. I thought the selection of glasses was just enough not to be overwhelming. Luckily, I have great insurance so my out pocket costs were next to nothing but if I had been paying out of pocket, the prices would have been too rich for my blood. I got my new glasses in just a few days and LOVE them. I trusted the doctor's advice to get progressive bifocals (which I had been putting off for years) and am really glad I did. I just switched from another optometrist. I like Eye Optics because the staff is very professional and friendly, the Equipment is brand new their technology is much more Advanced. Their frame selection includes every designer brand I can think of. I got a pair of Oakley frames. The biggest difference I noticed was that they do not require using dilation drops which numb my eyes. They use new equipment that tests eyes without the drops. I really like this. read more

I've been coming to eyeoptics for almost 17 years. In the most recent years, their quality of work and customer service has decreased substantially. I use to never have any issues but I noticed their fall in quality two years ago. I did an eye exam with Dr. Yurko and she prescribed trial contact lenses to me. After a week or so, a receptionist called me to schedule my follow up exam to test my trial contacts with Dr. Yurko. I told the receptionist that the contacts were a bad fit and they made me dizzy so I didn't want to continue wearing this particular pair of contacts around even if it's just to the test exam. I was also explaining my concern since I didn't like my prescription, I was worried about the prescription being sent out to make my glasses that I picked out at my initial eye exam. The receptionist responded by scolding me in an unprofessional manner and said that the only way to move forward in the process was to come back and tweak the power of the contacts; she said the glasses and contacts are different in nature so what I was saying wouldn't matter with the glasses. Since I've been coming to this place for so long and always had a good experiences in the past, I reluctantly scheduled the follow-up appointment with the rude receptionist. Dr. Yurko tried to work with me to correct the bad contacts and we ended up with decent results after multiple sessions of trial and error. I want to emphasize that I kept expressing my concern about getting my prescription right for both my contacts and my glasses to Dr. Yurko throughout these sessions. However, after several weeks and about a thousand dollars later, I was extremely unsatisfied with the glasses that were ordered for me. When I wear my glasses around, I feel extremely dizzy from the power of the prescription. Of course my glasses were a final sale item and had already been paid for weeks ago when it was ordered. To make matters worse, my family and I were presented with a large bill after choosing glasses (which we paid for) BUT a few weeks later we were harassed with a phone call to tell us that some costs were accidentally over looked initially and we still owed them MORE money. Just recently, I tried getting my eyes checked at this place again (I guess for shits and giggles at this point). I was assigned to Dr. Ly this time and I'm told that my old prescription for my contacts and glasses are way too strong for my eyes. After complaining for so long, I'm glad that Dr. Ly had finally heard me out. While walking out, I pay for what I'm told is my co-pay and that my insurance was picking up the rest of the fees. I confirmed with the receptionist several times, "This is all I pay right?" To which I'm told, "YUP." A week later someone calls me from this place and demands that I give them my card information over the phone because I was "incorrectly charged the last time" I was there. Apparently there was $50+ owed on my account but I refused to give out my info. My family and I will NOT be coming back here. We've spent thousands of dollars here and have received mediocre (if not terrible) service. This place is charging as if they are a high end optometry but makes COSTLY mistakes. They are not worth the money. Take your hard earned paycheck and expensive insurance elsewhere, please!!! read more

My optician, Johtell.... was on point with everything. I recommend calling her and setting an appointment to work with her exclusively. She is worth the wait. Today was my first visit at EyeOptics and I was blown away with the amazing customer service I recieved upon my arrival and during my visit. My appointment was at 8:50 and I was seen exactly at my scheduled time which never has happened at other optomytrist. The assistants were very calm and patient with me. Many times we kept having to do the same thing over and over again because my eyelashes were too long and in the way of my eyes. They were willling to work with me and my lashes to get the perfect picture of my eyeballs. Dr. Ly then went ahead and began on my exam and gave me a lot of useful information about my eyes that I had not heard before. He was thural and patient as well. Great guy. I'd also like to mention Issa, who made my visit 1000x better. Issa helped me find the perfect frames for me. I intially only found one pair that I liked but could not commit to. She asked what kind of styles I like and she came back with a whole bunch of frames to choose from! We narrowed down to our top three. She also rated them for me and how they looked on. It was nice getting an honest opinion. The whole procces of picking my frames took about an hour. Issa was exremely patient and did not make me feel rushed to pick a pair. But the older lady that helped us made the experience here not good she's seemed mad, not very friendly, not very helpful every time me an wife wife would pick out frame for my oldest she's would say no to it like if they needed her approval last time I checked me an my wife were the parents not her. Tried to give the place another chance requested to deal with someone other then her an she gets on the phone which really did it for me right there forget what the customer requests an give them the opposite not good. I recently got my eyes checked and fitted for contact lenses at Kaiser and decided to come here for contact lenses. I have done this twice in the past, but this time I was told that in order to get contacts from this place I'd have to get fitted for lenses there. Um, why? I've already been fitted. You're not going to find anything different than the fitting I received last week. If they are having you do this they are ripping you off. Also, their website says that outside prescriptions are welcome. Guess not. I'd recommend finding a place that isn't blatantly trying to scam you. read more

I've only been there twice and it was recommended to me by my friend. Everything was ok last year when I got my exam, frames and lenses. This year I went in for a exam and then brought my frames in to replace my lenses on a different day. When I brought my lenses in I told them that I didn't want to pay as much as last year cause I only found myself using my glasses a handful of times a month. The optician that helped me proceeded to tell me that I had a C coat last year and that they don't recommend it cause its not as scratch resistant as their 89.00 D coat. I said politely no thanks cause I don't use them enough to pay that much for a lens I'm replacing in a year. I asked about the lower levels of coating like A and B. She then lied and told me that they no longer make them because they flake off. I knew that was a lie cause I worked as a optician for years and have dealt with the VSP lab. Then after telling me that the C coat and lower is no longer made she offered it to me knowing I won't pay more. I just settled and paid for the same thing I got last year which was the C coat and left. I called VSP see if they still use the A and. B coat. They said that they so. After confirming I was furious that she flat out lied to me without stuttering. I called and talked to the manager and told her about it. I explained that I had a great experience last year and even recommended my friends. I am not sure that I want to return next year. That is no way to do business by lying to people and pushing them in the corner to up sell. I won't be referring my friends there in the future. read more

I just found out that this place has been ripping me off for the past few years! They have been charging me an eye fitting annually to prescribe me the same contact brands lens! Kaiser just told me that u only need one fitting. The only time you need a new fitting is if you switch brands! Just keep your old box and take it to any store with your new glass prescription to buy your contacts. read more

A solid 3-stars for this place. Been coming here a long time wayyy before they moved to this location. Always have been seen by Dr. Yurko and received a very thorough exam. So happy with that aspect. Staff at front desk and in frames area are hit and miss like anywhere, but majority of the time very unfriendly. Sure wish they had more luxury lines like Chanel and Versace. Gucci line is extremely limited as well as Dior. Prices for luxury frames like Tiffany, Gucci, etc are quite high...higher than other places like LensCrafters. I opted not to buy frames here as I thought the prices were just too unreasonable. I went out of network with insurance and purchased at LensCrafters for my Tiffany & Co glasses and while insurance didn't cover it all especially being out of network, it was STILL cheaper than EyeOptics. read more

Our family and I have been coming to this office for 11 years . It was convenient and they are a VSP provider . The Dr seems fine . The customer service has always lacked and the prices have always seemed high . After going to LensCrafters this weekend, I feel I've been screwed all these years . LensCrafters of Roseville has a better Dr. (Nguyen) and they will give a discount for VSP patients that will off set the out of service provider . They also have a much better price and selection of glasses . Totally worth the drive if you are coming from EG. In two hours we had 5 pairs of glasses for the family. It usually takes 1 hour but they were under staffed. Connie was so much help at Roseville LensCrafters. I would also like to mention that my last customer service rep. for Eye optics was chewing on a toothpick . Yeah , professional and classy ! read more

Staff is alright they didn't really have a caring attitude more like snobby and the Dr with a asian last name also was snappy and somewhat rude to me. They told me office visit is about 170 I can't recall and check up was about another 100 or so with glasses the were barely 130. My wife and her mother went to Eye Optics to purchase two sets of Frames/Lenses. An overzealous salesperson sold them on every possible unnecessary add-on. Each pair of glasses came out to over $800/pair! And one pair was a very simple single vision prescription. Even with insurance, out of pocket payments for each pair was over $400. This seemed incredibly excessive to me. Especially when I saw the glasses and realized that they were nothing special, pretty much just standard frames. Upon venturing back to Eye Optics the next day and returning the glasses, we spoke with the manager who (belatedly) offered to find us a more affordable solution. At that point,it was too late. Their sleazy sales techniques, taking advantage of those who don't know better, assured that we take all our future business elsewhere. We politely declined her suggestion and went to Costco. At Costco, we were able to find high quality frames/lenses (which to me seemed nicer than the $800 Eye Optics product) at a cost of around $200/pair. Insurance halved that, so the high quality Costco classes ended up costing only $200 out of pocket for two pair vs. the outrageous $800 out of pocket for two pair that Eye Optics oversold us. Places like Costo, Walmart, and others can provide you the same quality at a much more reasonable price. Don't be fooled by Eye Optics gleaming new showroom (they have relocated). Their sales people are sharks who sill suck you (and your insurance) dry given half a chance. read more

I was a few minutes late for my appointment and they were not accommodating and basically brushed me off. I only give one star because the store presentation is nice. I've worn glasses since I was kindergarten and I've always generally had a positive experience with my eye doctors. I came in to this shop because I was in dire need of a new pair of glasses since my previous pair had snapped in half. They charged me for a contact appointment even though, I never asked for it. The people attempted to sell me expensive designer glasses when I clearly asked for something different. I'm pretty nearsighted so I can't really see without glasses, and they wouldn't even give me an opinion on whether the glasses fit my face or not. It's been a couple of months and I've been getting tension headaches, so I paid out of pocket to get my eyes looked at by my original optometrist in the Bay Area. My trusted Bay Area optometrist said my eyesight hadn't changed at all. However this place gave me a prescription that was too low. So now I have to buy another goddamn pair of glasses. I hate this place. Recommend you go elsewhere read more

I've been part of EyeOptics for nearly 8 years. Their remodel has revamped their space dramatically and the team has put even more quality in care & services. Dr. Sharon Yurko is one of the best optometrists I've seen there and my recent experience gives them all 5 stars. Every person in that office handles their patients with care and treat people like it's their own business or home should I say. I love Eye Optics. I have been going here for about two years. I take my family there as well. My daughter is 6 years old and needed glasses the consultant was so nice and attentive and helped her pick out the cutest pair of glasses. They gave her a couple of cases and made the whole experience wonderful. They did recently relocate to a bigger, more spacious office, making the environment much roomier and more comfortable. Everyone was so nice and answered all of our questions. There was no wait and the doctor saw my husband and myself in less than one hour. They were helpful figuring out my insurance and what I could order and how to get the most out of my benefits. I highly recommend this place. read more

The optometrist and staff were professional, the prescription and new frame and lens order went well. Upon getting my glasses the optician had me sit at a fitting desk. She handed me the new glasses without sitting and asked, 'is this your first set of glasses?', as I took off the pair of glasses I wore in. I put on the new glasses as she stood there. I mentioned that they didn't seem to fit. She did not check to see if I could read or check their fit. I mentioned that they were slipping down my nose. She said that the frames were big on my face, then left the room to tighten the frame. After five minutes she handed the glasses to me and proceeded to hand me the case and cleaner. I will go back and get them fitted by someone who knows how. read more

The doctor was so patient with me we seriously went through a few contact lenses to find the right one and I was so happy to leave seeing clearly. The doctor was knowledgeable and was able to figure out my vision problem that the last eye doctor I saw couldn't. When it came time to choose a new optometrist, I had no idea what I'd be getting myself in to. This is hands down the only place I will go for all of my eye care needs. I started off with only having glasses and was getting tired of them. I decided to change over to contacts. Let's just say, I have some very abnormal eyes. After 6+ months of extreme patience from Dr. Yurko, with almost weekly visits, we went through trials of every hard and soft contacts on the market. She was the absolute best and never gave up on me. Her final suggestion before I was willing to give up, was to try Duett contact lenses. Something she was not specialized in, but convinced me Dr. Curtis was the answer. And she was! Dr. Curtis got me fitted with a "hybrid" contact (hard inner, soft outer). I was skeptical at first but these are the best things since sliced bread. I also can't forget to mention Kristin and Lucina. Kristin has been just as patient and accommodating. She is extremely knowledgeable and explained my benefits in detail while keeping my best interest in mind and most of all, not confusing me. Lucina was an excellent trainer helping me with putting in and taking out all 3 different types of contacts. I get frustrated and give up easily, and Lucina kept my confidence up and kept me positive. An all around great facility that I will go to for years to come. I tell people about them almost daily! I don't know why others have posted about the "snobby" service. I showed up the first day in sweats, flip-flops, and no makeup.... and received nothing but excellent service. I liked the attention I received starting from the receptionists, to the optometrist, to the optician. The optician was NOT high pressure, when I declined a few of the options, she simply scratched them off the list. She was pleasant and help me select a pair of beautiful prescription sunglasses. I liked the service so much that I made appointments for both of my kids & had my husband bring his Kaiser prescription here to select new glasses. Christy was super friendly and professional. This was the first time I decided to try contacts, and Rachel spent over an hour helping me put them in for the first time. Took the advice of a friend and decided to try a new eye doctor since I need new glasses. What. A. Mistake. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! I have never experienced such a disregard for customer service in my life. As countless others have posted, they quote random "office policies" but can't back them up because they aren't posted--anywhere! It's like they make them up on the fly. Very RUDE! After being caught behind an accident on the freeway, I battled traffic for over an hour and could see I was going to be a few minutes late. I even called out of courtesy to let them know. I arrived 12 minutes after my appointment time and was told my appointment was canceled (due to their unposted "10 minute late policy") and that the doctors were already gone. Riiiiiight. Doctors already gone. So I guess the rudeness starts at the top and trickles down. From the other negative reviews here, it's obvious that they don't care about their reputation...SO, I will happily take my $$$$ for my premium frame and lens order to your competition! Update: The "Office Manager" replied to my review and stated that their 10-minute "policy" is posted behind the counter...well, your "front end manager", as she referred to herself, was completely unaware and said she didn't know if it was posted anywhere, actually. And, since my appointment was at the end of the day, my appointment cancellation was not at all about "efficient office operations" but more about staff not wanting to, I don't know, serve clients because it was the end of the day? Neither here nor there, but no, I have no desire to discuss the situation further, because there is no way Eye Optics will ever earn my business (representing thousands of $$$, considering the vision care needs of my entire family). Stopped by for my yearly eye exam. Was surprisingly slow when I went in last week. Quick and easy. Staff was friendly and quick was in and out within 30 mins. Didn't grab the gals name that checked me in but she was very quite. Steven called me back for my exam he was great and to the point. He was the one that walked me to glasses area after I was done with tests. Where Jason helped me. Once I told him I was just looking he was kind of quick. Only talked to me again as he was walking me to the front. Domonique checked me out. She was very helpful and extremely friendly. Explained I needed a receipt to send to my insurance at the end of the year. She offered to email that and all my families receipts for the year to me so I can have a digital copy. Overall the office is nice , they offered coffee/tea when you walk in, staff is friendly, Dr. Lee is great! Only down fall is glasses take up to three weeks to get. Will go back. read more
