Took the advice of a friend and decided to try a new eye doctor since I need new glasses. What. A. Mistake. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! I have never experienced such a disregard for customer service in my life. As countless others have posted, they quote random "office policies" but can't back them up because they aren't posted--anywhere! It's like they make them up on the fly. Very RUDE! After being caught behind an accident on the freeway, I battled traffic for over an hour and could see I was going to be a few minutes late. I even called out of courtesy to let them know. I arrived 12 minutes after my appointment time and was told my appointment was canceled (due to their unposted "10 minute late policy") and that the doctors were already gone. Riiiiiight. Doctors already gone. So I guess the rudeness starts at the top and trickles down. From the other negative reviews here, it's obvious that they don't care about their reputation...SO, I will happily take my $$$$ for my premium frame and lens order to your competition! Update: The "Office Manager" replied to my review and stated that their 10-minute "policy" is posted behind the counter...well, your "front end manager", as she referred to herself, was completely unaware and said she didn't know if it was posted anywhere, actually. And, since my appointment was at the end of the day, my appointment cancellation was not at all about "efficient office operations" but more about staff not wanting to, I don't know, serve clients because it was the end of the day? Neither here nor there, but no, I have no desire to discuss the situation further, because there is no way Eye Optics will ever earn my business (representing thousands of $$$, considering the vision care needs of my entire family). Where do I start? Professional Team, I won't say staff because I don't think that is enough justice. They are truly a team. I needed my glasses rushed due to an unexpected event. They called me several times to update me on the status of my glasses. Great service and follow up. Will refer people to them. Stopped by for my yearly eye exam. Was surprisingly slow when I went in last week. Quick and easy. Staff was friendly and quick was in and out within 30 mins. Didn't grab the gals name that checked me in but she was very quite. Steven called me back for my exam he was great and to the point. He was the one that walked me to glasses area after I was done with tests. Where Jason helped me. Once I told him I was just looking he was kind of quick. Only talked to me again as he was walking me to the front. Domonique checked me out. She was very helpful and extremely friendly. Explained I needed a receipt to send to my insurance at the end of the year. She offered to email that and all my families receipts for the year to me so I can have a digital copy. Overall the office is nice , they offered coffee/tea when you walk in, staff is friendly, Dr. Lee is great! Only down fall is glasses take up to three weeks to get. Will go back. read more

Have been going there for years--in fact the entire family goes. The docs and nurses are professional, courteous and knowledgable. I wear contacts, so don't pay attention to the eyeglass side of things that much but they have a huge selection (maybe too many) and prices seem about average for high-end frames. When you get your eye exam, they give you a card with your prescription, so you can shop for frames, etc elsewhere. read more

My family and I all love EyeOptics. We have been going there for years. Making an appointment is easy, even with all our differing schedules. And they accommodate multiple appointments at once so we can go together if wanted. The staff are polite and friendly. Dr. Curtis is professional and explains everything clearly. She is wonderful, she provides outstanding service and helpful information . Before I leave the office, I am handed my prescription - no need to even ask. It is business card sized, and laminated, which is super helpful. I am happy with the selection of glasses, and there is great service if you want help selecting your frames. Nobody is pushy, though. Awful customer service on behalf of Dr. Sharon Yurko. Quite a shame, and I would have expected much better from the woman who started this establishment. My contact appointment was extremely rushed and not thorough at all. As a result, I left the office with contacts that have a prescription that is too weak in one eye. Basically: I had asked to wear the two week contacts way ahead of time, but she assumed I wanted dailies without ever confirming with me. So, we went through the process of planning the payment and fitting etc etc for the dailies. But I was not aware of this. As I requested the two week ones, I assumed those were what we were talking about all along. Eventually, she let the word dailies slip and I questioned her, reminding her that I wanted two week lenses. She sighed heavily and rolled her eyes and responded irritably. So we redid the process, quickly and carelessly, resulting in one of my lenses being too weak in one eye. I was basically ushered out of the office before I was ready, and I was made to feel like a burden. Every appointment I have with Dr. Yurko, I dislike, for her eye examinations are very superficial. On the other hand, I gave two stars because of Dr. So. She is amazing at making you feel comfortable, and has a great attitude! read more

I took my son there to get an eyeglasses prescription and we really loved the place. Dr. Ly was so helpful, he answered my questions, explained lots of details and didn't rush us. The assistant lady who took picture of my son's eyes was so helpful. The eyeglasses collection was HUGE and the gentleman and the lady there was so patient with my son for maybe an hour until he made up his mind and settled on a pair. There is a play area for kids that my daughter stayed in and enjoyed her time during my son's visit. Overall me, my son, my husband and my daughter were super satisfied. An update after checking other reviews, I was 5 minutes late for the appointment and they still allowed me to the appointment without mentioning it, and yes there is a gate to the eyeglasses shop but to me it was fine as it is to ensure that the eyeglasses stay in, although I needed to get out and in few times but they were totally fine with that making it smooth for me. read more

After 30 years, my eye sight was getting blurry. One day, me and my wife was having lunch @ the Mikey'd next to Eye Optics. I decided I'll go and have my eye exam since I got insurance thru my work. I've walk in Eye Optics without any knowledge or knowing anything. The front lady greet me and help me in getting an eye exam. They were very nice and professional. Done with all my paperwork and they scheduled me an appointment on the following week to have my eye exam since the OD already went home. Came back for my appointment and did all the test and found out I needed glasses. They had me wait and look at their show floor. They even ask me to pick which frame I like while I was waiting. I've always a fan of Ray Bans and Oakley, so I pick out the Oakley frame which was a couple of hundred, I was concern about the price so I pick a second pair which is cheaper so I can to do a price comparison. When I was next, the lady ask me to pick any frames, so I brought over the two that I was looking at. Walked to her table and she told me that all frame are 40% off. So forget about the cheaper frame, so I pick the Oakley frame in a heartbeat. I paid for my glasses and in a couple of days, my glasses are ready for pickup.Service are very fast. If Yelp have a 1000 stars, I'll give Eye Optics 1000 stars. I like all the ladies works there. They are very nice and pretty and their customer service are not gold rated but Platinum rated. Terrible experience. My prescription went fine and the ophthalmologist seemed to be fine, her name was Sharon, but when ordering glasses, the sales guy tried to convince me I needed the smearing anti-reflecting spray on the lenses. I explained I would not like that, but after 3 times of him jamming it down my throat, I said, "fine just do the anti-reflective spray." I drove home and decided to call back and cancel the anti-reflective part of the order, they said it would knock off 60 dollars. Then after 10 minutes they called me back and said there was a mistake with the original order and it would cost 120 dollars more w/o the anti-reflective spray. I had them cancel the whole order. Screw that place, bad business, they even wrote me an apology letter later, but they messed up man. I can't believe it, you can order frames online in this day and age for much less. I went through frames direct dot com and had a fantastic deal. read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous. The doctors are super sweet and efficient! Although their staff, needs work. When attempting to look around at the frame selection, i was a little disappointed with their customer service. Although the doctors there saved them from losing my business, but not enough to return. I received the glasses and they were completely wrong and when attempting to speak to a manager. He apparently was always gone. I do not understand how I could be given a time frame to call, I call during that time frame and still lack response. I've been going to Dr. Yurko for about 6 years. She is an awesome doctor. Always friendly, seems to remember me when I go in there, willing to answer my questions and my prescriptions are always perfect. The staff was usually pretty nice they were always very helpful when picking out frames but my last experience was horrible. No one helped me find frames she just told me to look around and when I found something to come and get her... quiet the opposite from what I was used to. She put in the order said it would be about a week for them to come in. A week comes and goes and I ended up calling to see if they were there and sure enough they were, no one called me when they got in. I take my glasses home and notice that there was a blurry spot in the lens. I figure no big deal imperfections happen sometimes, I take them back down and get the same unfriendly person who doesn't sympathize with the situation doesn't apologize for the inconvience just takes my glasses and says it will now be 2 weeks before they come back. A week later they call me I go get my glasses again, but thoroughly check them before I leave the office. Sure enough the spot is still there. I ask if there is any way to at least put a rush on them considering this is the second time they will be sent back. She says no, again no "sorry" no "let me see if there's something I do". Another week goes by and I get another call that my glasses are ready. This time I ask the him to look at the glasses to see if they are really fixed this time. You guessed it, still not fixed. At this point I have run out of patience. At least he was sympathetic and assured me he work with his manager to get this resolved. Another week goes by I get another call from the same man telling me my glasses are in and they are fine. I go the office on my lunch break for them to tell me I have to wait for someone to give me my glasses. I insist I have waited 3 times for broken glasses I just want to see them and go. They look fine and I leave. Guess what now there is a blurry spot in BOTH lenses!!!!!!!!!!! They told me I would have to wait for someone to give me my money back and go over "options" to have this taken off my insurance. I was on my lunch break and didn't have time. I asked if I could at least make an appointment for the following day, and she said no we don't make appointments for this. Are you kidding me??!?! I ordered glasses a MONTH ago and they have been sent back 3 TIMES... for the same thing! All I was asking for is that I can be in and out to get my money back. Dr. Yurko is great. I would recommend her to anyone. But considering the office staff sucks, and where ever they get the lenses made isn't much better... don't order glasses there! read more

I purchased a pair of glasses at Eye Optics approximately 1 and 1/2 years ago, they were high end designer frames with all the extra's on the lenses $500. I took them in for a simple slight frame adjustment. The optician bent and tweaked to the point they were imbearable to wear. I promptly took them back two hours later letting him know that I could not wear them. The following day a second optician bent and tweaked made them a bit better, but still not right. Day three- back again the original destroyer of my glasses attempted yet again to fix the problem and was very rude. Day four- after work suffering all day with glasses that were causing pain on my nose and ears I went back again and was told that glasses are only ment to last two years, after I explained that I had brought in my glasses for a simple adjustment. I was so angry I bolted from the facility in anger. Beware of Eye Optic's they are out to make a BIG BUCK with rude and untrained staff. I will ultimately being going elsewhere to have my glasses adjusted properly and paying out of pocket. I have been wearing glasses for many years this is the worst experience I have ever had!!! I will not be returning or referring anyone here!! It was my first time here, I was referred by a friend since the hours of operation were convenient for me. Dr Wong was great and very professional. I picked out my frames and then was advised what I was due for my out of pocket costs. They are a bit pricier then what I'm used to. They wanted money up front before the order can be placed. I wasn't prepared for that so I told them I would come back to pay in full and place my order. When I came Back to pay their system did not except my transaction but the receptionist could not tell me why and told me to call the company of the card and find out why. Poor customer service and they don't know how to make decisions for them selves she had to call a supervisor on the phone to make a common sense decision. Moral of the story is nothing was wrong with my card she was not trained on how to provide excellent customer service and do her job I decided to take my business elsewhere and never placed the order because she could not figure out how to process a transaction. This review is strictly regarding the shop and not the optometrist. All of the staff on the exams side are friendly and provided great service. My doctor, Dr Curtis is wonderful! Very personable. I had a huge problem with the optometrist shop. First, about a week prior to my appointment they sent me a text with a link to browse frames to "save time" at my appointment. Excited about this new feature and at the prospect of getting through the process a bit quicker, I chose about 5-6 frames that I really liked. After my eye appointment I was ushered to the other side where I eagerly awaited seeing and trying the frames I chose. When I sat down, the person working with me informed me that they only had 2 of the pairs I chose because the others were sold out! Excuse me?? she stated that the link included what was in inventory on the day they sent the link. (There was nothing in the link that said frames were subject to availability and no apology was offered.) On top of that, she told me she could order the frames I liked for a $25 fee AND if I didn't chose them, I would have to pay a RESTOCKING FEE!!!!!! So basically, I'm financing their inventory? I don't think so! How the heck are you going to send me a link, not have the items then charge me for your not having them?? Ridiculous! After she tried to sell me a few pairs of very nice, but extremely expensive Bvulgary glasses ($600) (At this point she acted like I was wasting her time.) I asked about simply having some other glasses re-lensed with the new prescription with progressive lenses. My insurance covers basic progressive lenses at no charge, which I proceeded to inform her. She stated, "We would not honor that because we only do top of the line progressive lenses which are $120 ." Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have the high end progressive lenses, however, I want the coverage and benefits I pay VSP each month for. Needless to say, I left, very upset and disappointed, and I still have no glasses. Like I said, I like Dr. Curtis, I will not deal with the sales side again. read more

We have been going to EyeOptics for many years. My family drives over 2 hours so that we can continue our eye care with EyeOptics. All of the staff is great! We have had our eyes examined by Dr's Yurko, Curtis and Ly and have been impressed with all of them. Most recently, all 3 of us had our examinations with Dr. Ly and he is so calm, friendly and informative. We have learned a lot about eyes and vision over the past 2 years from him. When we went to pick up our glasses, we were assisted by Chris, who was friendly and very professional and scored a 10 out of 10 when he learned that it was my granddaughter's birthday that day and promptly presented her with a gift card from his wallet!! His kindness and generosity made her day! It is because of staff like Chris and the great doctors that we drive the distance we do for our eye care and glasses. We also love the availability of the Optomap Retinal exam .....no more awful dilation drops for us!! read more

I was in there for the first time yesterday and Dr. Yorko was very pleasant. However, the staff wasn't so pleasant to deal with, the girl upfront was very busy and didn't really pay attention to who needed help or whoever had questions. They have a large selection of frames for girls however they have very little choices for guys. I ended up taking my prescription to eyedesigns in Arden because I couldn't find a frame that I liked. The girl who was supposed to help me choose frames wasn't too interested in helping me and she left me wondering around the office. read more

Came in last Saturday for my first eye appointment in over 10 years! I've worked with computers the last 3 years and have felt my eyes get fuzzy recently. I came in really nervous and not sure what to expect but the staff are so sweet and friendly I immediately felt comfortable! My eye exam was barely 20 minutes and I was already on my way picking out frames! They were very gentle and caring during the exam, it was very comforting. The selection of frames is pretty great if I might add too! I got my frames ordered and I was told about 2 weeks they would be ready! I received a text 8 days later that was glasses were ready! I was so excited. I came in after work today and I was in and out in 10 minutes! Could not be happier with my experience here with Eye Optics! I was so afraid of the eye exam and the thought of having glasses for the first time but they totally took care of me and I've been excited ever since. read more

I went to this place and was helped by a grey, short bob-cut saleslady. I ended up ordering some Calvin Klein glasses. When I went to pick them up, I was waited on by a younger gentleman. He sat me down in the chair and I tried on the glasses. I immediately noted that these glasses were not right. I had ordered bi-focals. The bottom part, which is designed for close-up reading, was much too high, too extensive. When I looked straight ahead, everything below the level of my pupils was out of focus. So half my world of view was out of focus. It was rediculous. So the gentleman started marking the glasses with a sharpie, so that they could be redone. Then the same grey haired lady came over and abruptly took over from the gentleman, as if he couldn't do it, and that she would be better. I should have spoken up, because I didn't want her at all. She was the same person that screwed up the order the first time. I admit it was my fault. So I wanted an additional couple of weeks to get the new glasses. I tried them on, and found that the level line was now lower, at the proper spot. However, after I got home, and turned on my computer, I found that the the computer screen, books, papers, anything at all, was focused at the wrong distance! I cannot see clearly unless the screen or print is 11" away from the glasses' lens. I know. I measured. This means I cannot put my laptop on my lap to use it. I cannot put it on my desk, unless I get my face within 11" of the screen, and my elbows are pointed very far out to the right and left of the keyboard. I'm a pilot. These glasses cannot be used in the cockpit, as the small planes I fly the instrument panel is rather close to me. At about the same distance as my laptop. So the instruments are not clear to me whether I am looking through the top of the bottom of my glasses. They are not in focus no matter what I do. Going to this place was a wast of both time and alot of money. read more

They have broken 2 pairs of ray ban frames and not warranty .They overcharge almost $600.00 even if it is insurance paying for my glasses ! Been going here for years but never again. Its a shame the Doctor end of it is very nice and professional but the eye glass end is the opposite .Just left there because they told me my broken frames and new lenses would be back yesterday now they tell me tomorrow . Just so typical of this place. Save yourself some money and grief go somewhere else. read more

I've been going to this optometry center for a few years and I have had a good experience from the time I walk in to the time I walk out. From my experience, I have encountered a good and friendly professional team. They are prompt and when I get my contacts, I usually get a rebate if I purchase the annual contact lenses. I forget which certain brand. I don't go into the retail section (only to purchase the contact lenses I've used for a couple of years now) because I've seen the prices and at my salary I cannot afford them. I just usually purchase the contact lenses. There is always the option to buy them elsewhere but I feel like I get a good deal with rebate from purchasing the contact lenses. Also, when I call to make an appointment, they are friendly. I like them. I don't live in Elk Grove, but I will drive out from Sacramento to visit this place. I would recommend them to my friends. Nice atmosphere, friendly employees, nice doctor (Dr. Yurko), ample parking, and situated to other places if you want to stop or get a bite to eat off of Laguna Blvd. read more

This place is terrible. The girls at the front are so rude and do not want to help you. When I went in there to have a screw fixed on my glasses, they acted like I was totally inconveniencing them. Or when I called to have my prescription faxed over to me, she told me she wasn't allowed to and that I had to come in and pick it up myself. When I went in and expressed my frustration I found out she was just being lazy and she could have faxed me the prescription. I love the new technology they have and the flow of the office. I met with Katie there as she helped me with my glasses and contact lens purchase. Joe was phenomenal in helping my hubby and I pick out our eyewear. This place is fast and friendly and the choices of frames are new and fabulous. The place is clean and nice, everyone is very professional. I recommend this place to everyone. My family and I will continue to go there. I always leave that place happy. We drove all the way from Roseville to Elk Grove for nothing. We did'nt call them back to confirm our appointment because a few days before, we received a call from them confirming our appointment. I have been going to EyeOptics for years until they hired new staff. I love the doctors they are excellent at what they do. This was the only reason I would continue to go back. However the staff is horrible. Not professional and very accusatory when the product is not acceptable by the customer.
