My husband & I had our first appointment with Dr Siu yesterday and we were both really pleased. I had to find a new optometrist since our last one retired. That practice was sold to a corporation and didn't have a doctor in office, it was all done remotely. Everyone at Eyewish was very friendly and super helpful. I felt very comfortable with Dr Siu, he is knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. The eye exam was thorough and I like that they don't dilate your eyes, they have a machine that looks at your retina. My husband needed new glasses and the girls in that department were great! I am disappointed in EyeWish Optometry in Novato. After spending over $2600 in the last 6 months with them for 3 pairs of glasses and an extra set of lenses, they try to nickel and dime me with a $15 fee to mail my glasses. Keep in mind, I did not use insurance or got discounts for their high-priced glasses. I gave them an opportunity to reconsider this and they refused. Nice glasses, poor business decision. I've been a patient here for a number of years and although it's a bit of a drive, I go back because of the amazing service and professionalism I get here has been a 10/10 every time! The best example of how they go above and beyond in care taking of their patients is when I was on vacation and not near a hospital I had a major injury to my eye. Shortly after calling the office, Dr. Mantua called me back and spent time understanding the issue then advising on next steps that included going to her office and then being referred to the best specialist to help with my injury. Easy peasy. Hubby needed first set of reading classes. We had eye exam at Kaiser and searched for a lens provider in network from work and found EyeWish. Parking was easy and the selection is wide without being overwhelming. Great personal service front the front office. When items arrived there was a scratch on the lens. Mixed feelings - doctors were great (from years ago) but support staff messed up my glasses so that it caused strain and I had to go back to have it adjusted. I wish I knew who the support staff was because I would likely decide based on that. Also their frame selection was expensive, nothing was covered by VSP completely I think the least expensive one was the only one that was close but I may have had to pay a few bucks out of pocket. Not everyone is interested in the fashion, some of us just want to see clearly. So I'm shopping around since my prescription has expired anyway. I would say pleae pay attention to the quality of your staff to the doctors/managers. read more

I went in for a routine exam and ordered a new pair of glasses. They upcharged me for everything. I had to ask for written treatment plan that included extras on my glasses i never asked for. When i called to say i didnt want those extras and they were never explained to me, Dr. Mantua said she believer her staff and not me. Wow, I will never go her to again! read more

2.5 stars. This review is for services from a few years ago, I was on the fence about going back just out of convenience of hours and location (in which case I would have posted an update after this one) but I think I am going to try a new practice, this is why: The bad experience I had was a VERY simple prescription being messed up, the lenses were misaligned and one of the staff at the time acted like they didn't believe me and also didn't seem to know how to fix it, they had to get it redone. I've worn glasses for 25 years, again simple - nearsighteness. And I think I know if the distortion is not normal. It's not rocket science and even Costco didn't screw it up when I went there, blaming the customer/patient for something incredibly simple, and that I should just get used to it which any thinking person should understand the patient would accurately recognize is not normal is a really bad idea. I was getting a little bit of a headache from it and I DON'T EVER get headaches. The second and related reason is even NOW, they do not have a bio for their staff on the About page of the website, just some photos. (I wonder if those people are even still employed there) Granted their website might just be out of date, which is far less of an issue but it makes me wonder how much turnover there is, and it doesn't present the entire practice but just the doctors. The issue like I had clearly indicates the staff DOES matter, and I believe this is reflected in how they choose to set up the website and sort of whether the staff is considered part of the team or just sort of people that work there - which would be more likely the case if they have enough turnover so as not to feature them on the site. Given how many reviews this practice has on Yelp and all of the above information, I think this practice may do a lot of business but it is likely that the quality will suffer perhaps due to the doctors being out of touch with their staff and/or include them as a part of the team. I think when they called to try to schedule an exam I even said I'm going somewhere else, and clearly they didn't care and certainly didn't inquire as to why and just moved on. Perhaps with volume me staying with them doesn't really matter to them, at least to the person that called. Again, this is after years but it made an impression on me and this brief interaction suggests it may not have changed. One of the deciding factors is another practice in the area that is covered by my vision plan features their entire staff on the website, clearly delineates their job title and it seems they have been a part of the practice for a long time. I guess if the staff has a relatively high turnover the patients will as well, and if the business model focuses on volume rather than service and loyalty then it is not the place for me. This is my guess and it may not be totally accurate, I'm just offering it for people who actually read the reviews with details rather than just look at how many stars rating on average. read more

Every member of the staff I interacted with was pleasant and courteous, and Dr. Siu was very friendly and competent. I felt at ease right away and throughout my visit. I appreciate the hygiene measures taken to keep patients safe. The selection of frames is not large, but it's excellent. I was able to find several things I liked. **This is an update to my first post.** I looked up on line the device Icare tonometer. From the youtube videos it is a different option to drops and air puff in the eye that is done. As well the videos informs the Icare tonometer offers less discomfort to patients for that reason it is considered a better way to do this. Better is a good thing in my book. This office still received 5 stars as they are very nice here. Despite my understanding of modern this office offers good service. On a side note I post reviews to places I and my family go to. Even though some are not my first hand experience. They are important to me as it is word of mouth from my family. I take there experience into account when I need a similar service. read more

I was vastly overdue for a dilation but hesitant to do it as, let's get real who enjoys them? A friend recommend Eyewish to me as the dr is great and they have a retinal imaging technology that they use so that they don't need to dilate you unless they see something that needs further investigating. Small office that stays open until 6 pm. They offer free cleaner when glasses purchase. I'm impressed by their friendly staff and availability to see clients. I found the office equipment not to be as clean as I would like. I believe the office sees a lot of people and the office takes most insurances. The staff was more than willing to fit me into their schedule. I appreciated their hospitality and happy smiles. I found the staff to be professional and friendly. The service was very good and the Dr. seemed to know what she was doing. I would recommend this office to anyone who needs an eye doctor. The selection of glasses was interesting. The styles were modern and up to date. I've been to eye doctors who try to sell out of date frames, but not at this location. The office stocks a wide variety of prices and styles. I liked the expensive Italian frames and would even think about some of the very inexpensive frames. read more
