I'm new to the area and was concerned I would have trouble finding an optometrist I trust. I'm very happy to have found EyeWish, and Dr. Siu. Every member of the staff I interacted with was pleasant and courteous, and Dr. Siu was very friendly and competent. I felt at ease right away and throughout my visit. I appreciate the hygiene measures taken to keep patients safe. The selection of frames is not large, but it's excellent. I was able to find several things I liked. **This is an update to my first post.** I looked up on line the device Icare tonometer. From the youtube videos it is a different option to drops and air puff in the eye that is done. As well the videos informs the Icare tonometer offers less discomfort to patients for that reason it is considered a better way to do this. Better is a good thing in my book. This office still received 5 stars as they are very nice here. Despite my understanding of modern this office offers good service. On a side note I post reviews to places I and my family go to. Even though some are not my first hand experience. They are important to me as it is word of mouth from my family. I take there experience into account when I need a similar service. read more

I was vastly overdue for a dilation but hesitant to do it as, let's get real who enjoys them? A friend recommend Eyewish to me as the dr is great and they have a retinal imaging technology that they use so that they don't need to dilate you unless they see something that needs further investigating. I have come to this office since before I could drive! I have always found the staff to be very knowledgable and helpful especially in the challenging frame selection process. There is something about getting an education in frame selection that has really paid off over the years! My friends have appreciated the help too! Also, now my little girl comes here since she was 4 years old. They offer specials too on the retinal test and have strong marketing which has allowed us to keep our costs low by taking advantage of the discounted months - note...SCHEDULE EARLY! Also, they can manage insurance like no other and I have walked out with two pairs of new prescription designer glasses for less than 180 dollars which included all options imaginable. I know it isn't the brand that matters but if you worry about boutique or costs as it relates to eye frame costs just know they blow the others away in town and are less expensive than 20/20 but still carry a wonderful selection. I have been going to Kaiser for a number of years. Someting told me to get a second opinion. The Kaiser OP doctor told me I could not wear contacts after lasic eye surgery. I was disappointed because i hate wearing glasses. My progressive lens were a problem too. My intuition was correct! Eyewish had new equipment i had not seen before. After my exam I was told 1. my progressive lens my not have been measured right? 2. i was also told it would not be as easy to fit contacts as it was prior to the lasic but it was possible. I have been going to Dr.Pond prior to getting a another doctor in her practice. Prior to having Kaiser coverage. I have continued to go to her office for lens in new frames and to purchase frames. This office has been so accommodating and just tremendously helpful. I was in a bind with having only a temporary contact lens prescription that I was running low on and ironically my glasses broke at the same time. At risk of not having any form of vision correction, I went to the office and they provided me temporary contacts and a temporary glasses fix until Dr. Mantua returned from vacation. My insurance no longer covered my previous optometrist which I really loved. Last year I was forced to go to another provider and I've struggled the entire year with my eyesight, glasses, headaches, etc. This week I went to Eyewish for two reasons - they were covered by my insurance, and had great yelp reviews. I was not disappointed and it was worth the drive to Novato. The front staff are great, but the Optometrist (Dr. Mantua) was amazing!!! I loved her explanations and she was very thorough in listening as well as checking to make sure she was prescribing the proper glasses (given that my previous provider had not!). This is the first time I have been to an optometrist. I was a bit concerned as it seemed scheduling was going to be an issue. I was so pleased they reached out right away when a cancellation opened a more convenient time. Lisa, the staff member that helped me, was friendly, efficient and made me feel at ease. Dr. Pond was excellent, thorough and engaged, as well as a pleasure to look at. She seemed happy to indulge my nerdy, medical questions, which made me happy. Eyes are so interesting and this was the first time I got a deep look into mine. It's a miracle! I finally found an amazing optometry practice and a fabulous optometrist in Dr. Mantua (bonus: we like the same dog breed!) It's also a miracle because I am writing this review without "readers" as I'm wearing my new multi-focal contacts! YAY! I finally got my eye Rx right due to Dr. Mantua and her comprehensive exam. (My contact and glasses prescriptions were WAY off, no wonder I couldn't see very well!) The office staff and techs are great, friendly and professional, take their time with you, no rushing through the process. Docs are great but support team has no idea how to fit frames. Overheated and bent one pair that could never be worn again and last pair fit so poorly when I commented that they were crooked I was told, well they are straighter than they were. Time to find new provider. read more

I've been visiting Eye Wish for over 5 years. Both Dr. Mantual and Dr. Pond and very nice, responsive, considerate, thorough, and do care about my well-being. The staff is is also very helpful and patient with me. I ordered 3 pairs of Flexon frames over the years. They are very comfortable, but somehow the bridges between the lenses all broke within 3 months of each other. The staff were able to find reach the manufacturer and had the frames repaired at reasonable cost. Well, one of the pairs had just exceeded the warranty time, but the staff were able to convince the manufacturer to fix it for free. They solved my problems and addressed my concerns. Price is expected as if it were any other optometrist office. Highly recommended. read more

I've had a variety of eye exams in my life, but none as thorough as the one I had at EyeWish. Dr. Cheung was stellar - she spent time diving into every possible angle that concerned me in a kind and patient way. She even caught something no one had ever diagnosed before and gave me new insight into chronic issues. I felt genuinely looked after by an expert and, frankly, wish I had doctors comparable to Dr. Cheung for every other medical specialty. The staff is likewise courteous and warm. Listen, you can get a slightly cheaper eye exam just three minutes away at Costco. I have - and I got the wrong prescription with none of the advanced options, tests, and care available at EyeWish. The approach here is light years beyond, "read these letters with your left eye. How about this? Read these letters with your right eye. How about this? Ok, here's your prescription; get out."
