He showed me all the different options and their functions, including the awesome demo station where he was able to show me the pressure and functions in person which I thought was great! That's really nice that they have that in the showroom. Ozzy is very knowledgeable and he provided great customer service! Some of the pieces are not cheap but they offer a lifetime warranty which we really love. There were so many beautiful items to see and choose from. Although hidden behind several businesses along Pico Blvd. and wedged between a back road (south Wellesley Ave.) and the Santa Monica freeway, House of Hardwood endures and am glad that they remain in the same community. House of Hardwood is a fine place to get quality lumber with one-on-one service that is lacking at big-box businesses. The sales people are not only helpful, but knowledgeable too, they know wood. I initially went to the scrap bin looking for a large slab of maple, but could not find a suitable slab, so I asked a salesman for some help. Out of the available options, it was suggested that I opt for cherry. Because they sell lumber by board/linear feet, I had to buy more lumber than I needed, but this is where some improvement in the options and service, is suggested. Option 1) To buy the minimum length of lumber to get the project done, but if a customer only needs 9.25 feet of lumber, they would need to pay for 10 feet, but have the employee cut 9.25 feet of the required lumber, so the customer gets what they need, even though they paid for more; this prevents waste. This option may be illegal, because the business would be providing the customer with less product (lumber) than they paid for, but the customer should be able to sign a waiver indicating that they are willingly accepting less product than they paid for. Option 2) To buy the minimum length of lumber to get the project done, but to initially cut 10 feet of lumber, then make a second cut to remove nine inches and give both pieces of lumber to the customer (what should have happened in my case). Option 3) To buy the minimum length of lumber to get the project done, but to initially cut 10 feet of lumber, then make a second cut to remove nine inches and offer to buy the excess lumber from the customer to re-sell in the scrap bin. When I paid for the lumber with cash, the salesman offered to accept the actual price of the lumber without (or including) sales tax, which in Los Angeles is 9.75%, amounting to a significant and much appreciated savings (I would pay in cash whenever I could, perhaps for purchases under $500)! Overall, I am pleased with the product and service, but the dialog (and options) between customers and salespeople needs to improve.

We felt like we were guests in his house, not customers in an appliance shop. Before even doing anything, he took a huge amount of time to get to know us and understand our needs. He showed us all the different models and spent literally hours explaining all of the ins and outs and made a recommendation based on what we like to cook, not just based on what looks nicest. And it happened not even to be the very most expensive model! During the process of figuring out what we want and ordering, we truly became friends with Jacques. He's hands down the kindest, most professional person not only in this business but in ANY business. He matched it to a wonderful professional hood at a great price and recommended a fantastic installer. Once it was time to deliver and install the Wolf, Jacques has his expert team do the work. They were efficient, professional and did a great job despite it being a very challenging fit! Even after delivery, Jacques patiently answered my questions. I was equally impressed but more so by my conversation with Moe who listened carefully to our criteria, looked at my "before" pictures then suggested we schedule a free, in home consultation. During that consult he took measurements, made suggestions to create more counter and cabinet space in our 57-square foot kitchen plus budget friendly improvements to the existing bath with just a new vanity and toilet. We returned to Our Kitchen And Bath to select cabinetry, sinks, and faucets. Moe showed us various countertops but advised to make a final decision once the cabinets were installed. Less than a week later he returned a quote meeting our budget requirements and a scheduled start date for first week of February. We had already sourced paint, appliances and lighting, although Moe would have done this for us. We signed the contract and made a deposit with the knowledge that additional charges might arise and they did. We had planned on another company to do the flooring but when we realized appliances would have to be moved twice, it just made sense to let Our Kitchen And Bath do the work. On schedule, demolition/construction began. Thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail, the amount of daily progress, how at the end of the day the crew cleaned up and we always knew what would be done and what time work would begin the following day. Our remodel was completed within one month. We LOVE it! Weird but we're going to miss the construction dust, the minor inconveniences because the entire process, the transformation was actually fun all due to Moe's designer eye, methodical approach, upbeat attitude (nothing was ever a problem) and his highly skilled sub contractor crews.

From my research, it seems pretty easy to find a contractor to do a $20,000+ kitchen renovation…read more However, when I had less than $10,000 to replace kitchen counters, the choices got really slim. I even had a contractor agree to a price, but then backed out of the deal. Moe was the only contractor that suggested keeping our tile back splash, and assured us that his demolition people could preserve it. Everyone else told us that they had to demolish the back splash, as well as the counters. Keeping the back splash saved us at least a couple thousand. Moe had other cost-saving suggestions, and suggestions on how to make the job look better. He has an incredible knowledge of the business and materials, as well as an artful eye. He listens carefully to our thoughts and preferences, before formulating options. Even though we couldn't afford to do the bathroom counters, this year, he was willing to give us his advice, and some ballpark figures. He can supply the sink and fixtures, but lets us supply our own, if we can find what we want at a better price. He removed our old tile countertops, had a seamless Caesarstone counter fabricated and installed, installed a new sink, disposal, fixtures, range hood, and range back splash. Everything except the range back splash was done within 5 days, and we were up and running normally by the end of the week. The finished work is beautiful. The subcontractors that he uses are very skillful, and fast. He arranged for some floor work, and the floor guy did an excellent job, as well. He follows up to make sure that we are satisfied. We will most likely hire him to do our bathrooms, next year.
