This has been the worst experience of my life using this company I am 62 years old and I have never seen a company like this I have been ripped off my things have been broke in some things were not even taken I had to go back the next day and get them myself this is a company from Hell they work for the Devil I got ripped off and I'm sharing my experience so you won't get ripped all no matter how desperate you are to not use this company they are Thugs and Crooks They should not be in business I did not read the reviews beforehand I was in a hurry it cost me money What should have been a happy time turned into a very hectic terrible time They are cold blooded I would not wish them on my enemy they are from the devil run run run do not walk To get away from them

We used this company twice for two local moves in chicago without an issue. When we used them for a long distance move to Michigan, we had a terrible experience. Aside from terrible customer service, poor communication and lazy contracted movers, they created $1,500 worth of damage and offered us $147. What a joke. Stay away!

Terrible company that others should avoid. Their services may come at a cheaper rate, but there's a good reason why their prices are low. Your furniture will be torn/scratched/soiled and your boxes will be damaged. You will not be reimbursed for damages. They tell you that price estimates are based per item and sq footage and that they will readjust the actual price based on inventory the day of pickup. They will try to up sell you on the phone since they say there will be an extra premium on day if pickup if the actual inventory exceeds the estimate. Even if you email them or call them about changes they will tell you to wait until day of pickup. In reality on the day of pickup they will not adjust anything. Their customer service representatives consistently lie, never respond by email or are difficult to reach by phone (Maryam, Brian). They will give you a 72hr window for pickup and 7-10 day window for drop off. When you call them to ask them about pickup or delivery date they never know the answer. When the drivers show up it's a hit or miss. We had a disgruntled driver (Miles) show up who made it very apparent he didn't care about anything. He told us that it wasn't his job to do any quote readjustments or inventory. Him and his partner struggled moving the bed boxspring and were jamming it down the staircase and nearly knocked off the ceiling light fixtures before I had to intervene and pull the bulbs and glass off of the fixtures. I'm sure this is when they ripped the boxspring fabric. They then stood there bickering with each other because one jammed and cut the other one's hand. Then they had the guts to ask for a tip. Customer service was not available at that time and there was nobody to call. Furniture came damaged. Boxes came looking manhandled.

DO NO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY I had a long distance move schedule for pick up on 7/28... was not told prior to reservation that there is a 10 day spread for delivery... didn't find this out until signing paperwork. at this point it was too late to find someone else. the foreman DID NOT provide me with a "delivery request form" which is required to make delivery. I had no idea this was necessary...here it is 8/8 and I still don't have anything and have no updates on when my things will be delivered. Brian and Steven are superior ingrates and did nothing to help the situation. I emailed Brian on 8/6 and NEVER received a response. He blatantly hung up in my face and refused to give me a delivery date. They also charge you obscene amounts for tape and packaging. pack EVERYTHING you have BEFORE they come to pick up anything. I would NEVER recommend this company. you're better off renting a uhaul and getting friends to help you move. at least that way you won't be stuck half way across the country without your entire apartment. I will definitely be contacting the Better Business Bureau. this company is a complete joke! ***be sure to read the filtered reviews... there you'll see all the negative reviews. wonder why they're filtered.... ****update: delivery day after waiting 16 DAYS for my delivery... it finally comes everything SEEMED to be in order... one thing to note... you must pay by cash, money order, or cashier's check PRIOR to the unloading of any of your goods they unloaded everything and before I could even inspect the truck and ensure everything was loaded into my storage unit, the lead guy kept haggling me about a tip! they loaded my storage unit very messily and I ended up unloading and reloading my unit and ended up with much more space left over but now....I've discovered my camera is missing... smh I don't want anything else to do with this sorry company. any other correspondence will be through the BBB and my credit card company.

Stay clear away from this company , they will quote you one price ,,,,,and when the drivers come to your house they increased the price had my furniture in storage EZ Movers , well let's just say the way that they packed it up was not the way that it was delivered my China cabinet was scratched and nicks ....the glass for my cocktail table was missing and my buffet table had mold growing on it from water damage. extremely poor customer service and to put insult to injury they scratched up my newly varnish wooden floors I wouldn't recommend EZ movers to my worst enemy Photos attached

I would like to start out by saying I rarely write reviews. I do not believe in bad mouthing anyone unless their actions are grossly negligent, disgusting, and disrespectful to the customer. I hired EZ because their pricing was very competitive and they were able to accommodate my move date and time. On the morning of they showed up to our first of three locations. The transaction started off friendly, and I was happy. About an hour into the move one of the movers grabbed a 5x7 rug which was rolled and wrapped in a plastic bag through it over his shoulder and on the way out the door uncaringly hit a multi-tier shelving unit. This shelving unit housed antiques and sculptures. Several items fell crashing to the floor, two of which were antique Chinese plates that my grandmother bought in the 60's at the Miami trade show. These plates were over 100 years old and now shattered. The plates were displayed on two thick glass blocks, and as they hit the floor, the plates and stands damaged the floors. My mother was in tears about the plates and the negligence of the movers. The movers and I documented the incident, and we had no choice but to continue. The driver came to me about 45 min later saying they were done, and their dispatch is requiring full payment before leaving the first location.(keep in mind we had two other stops) In business people/business get paid AFTER the job is done not before or during. You wouldn't pay a plumber before he finished the work would you? Anyways I refused and it took an hour to get a manager on the phone, we spoke for all of 60 seconds (if that). "if you don't pay they are not leaving" the manager said, I said; "Ok tell them to unload the truck and please leave" They were afraid because of the damaged caused by their movers I wouldn't pay. The move was on a Sunday, and their office wasn't open, so we had to wait until Monday to file a report. I called once a day for three days and never got a call back (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). Finally, a gentleman answered on Wednesday, and boy was he rude!!! The gentleman was screaming and yelling, telling me I was a piece of this and that... I didn't give them a chance reach out etc.. I finally submitted the report and called back once a week to check the progress from EZ end. Each week I would hear; "we are still working on it and will have an answer next week." After week three we explained there was no reason this should take so long, and we felt they were dodging us and not going to live up to their responsibility. I explained our attorney would be handling things going forward and I am sorry it came to this... OH BOY did the owner, not like this response; I called back to ask for their attorney info, and he answered. In that thick Israeli(I am israeli and my sister is in the IDF) accent started screaming and calling me names. This was three weeks ago and now they have decided to tell my attorney we should sue them instead of making good and fixing the problem. Is this someone you really want to do business with? I have pictures and if there was a way for me to post them for you to see the horrible damage they created I would! I urge you think twice before getting into bed with EZ Movers.

One of the worst experience with EZMOVERS in chicago.... 1. Very rude and unprofessional pick up/ dropped off guys... 2. Brian - tops the list of unprofessionals above who himself is a manager 3. They charged me extra $400 (yes..! You heard it right) just because of the following reasons - - firstly, they said, movers truck can't fit into my parking lot hence they had to charge extra $400 just because it's more than 75 feet (but less than 90 feet) - After a brief argument with great manager brian... because of his rudeness I had to give up myself on him and agreed to pay $400 - I sent him these photos showing him that.. truck can fit easily without any issues... - Brian calls this tine saying... truck could fit but they cannot park out since it's blocking someone else's exit.. which was again another big lie... - I gave up by this time just focusing more on my movement.. Never ever take these guys... better for you.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS I fell victim to E-Z Movers' fraud scheme last week. I am angry with myself for allowing this to happen. Had I read yelp before using E-Z, I would have seen its systemic pattern of fraud and deceit. Long story short, the moving crew arrived at my apartment and informed me before moving any furniture that the job was going to cost approximately DOUBLE what I was quoted on the phone. The basis for the higher cost, the foreman told me, was that the crew was going to need to use $170 of "packaging materials" to wrap my furniture and the move was was going to take 4 hours instead of the 2.5 I was quoted due to the extra time needed to wrap my furniture and because of "Friday afternoon traffic." The "packaging materials" charge was particularly disturbing because I was never told that my furniture needed to be wrapped, let alone that I would be charged an astronomical amount if I failed to wrap it. The labor estimate was also disturbing because the employee responsible for the initial quote knew that I was moving on a Friday afternoon and should have reflected any "traffic concerns" in the quote. I immediately called E-Z's management after the crew foreman told me his updated estimate. I offered to make a compromise between the initial quote and the foreman's outrageous updated quote. The E-Z employees I spoke with were unwilling to negotiate any kind of agreement. Essentially, I was told to take it or leave it. That was hardly surprising considering E-Z knew damn well that I needed to be out of my apartment that night in order to comply with the terms of my expiring lease. Thus, I had no choice but to submit to its fraud. Please don't let yourself become E-Z's next victim. There are dozens of moving companies in Chicago. Take 15 minutes out of your day to review yelp for a company that doesn't take its customers hostage. read more

6/30/2011, Chicago: movers showed up three hours late to move and my apartment charged me $100 for going over my elevator time. Movers were aware I had my elevator only from 1-3, but movers showed up at 2 (quoted move time was 2.5 hours). Movers also got lost on the way to the new place and did not even know the address of where they were dropping off the stuff. I found them sitting on the side of the wrong street 20 minutes after they left the old apartment (the drive is 6 blocks and should have taken 5 minutes). I was still charged for this time. They used unnecessary materials that cost an additional $120. Awful, unreliable service. If I could give 5 negative stars, I would. STAY FAR AWAY! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are scam artists. Watch out for their long haul fee, as the driver will ensure he parks more than 75 ft away to make you pay. I was told i owed an extra $300 upon delivery and called the office to explain the situation. I was asked my name and address and then told the fee would be waived. However, the driver was not happy about this agreement, as i'm sure he gets to pocket the cash. I was called back by a very rude girl named Amanda who said the last person i talked to got me confused with another customer. I call BS. Oh and not to mention when i got my email confirming the name of my driver and called him, he had NO IDEA who i was or what I was talking about. I had to repeatedly call back to track down my own things. I've made long distance moves in the past and really wish I had yelped this company before moving with them. read more

I used these movers and they arrived early which was great, but when it was all said and done they had damaged a bookshelf and my bike was never delivered. I called immediatly (5mins) after I noticed my bike was not where they told me it was and no one called me. I had to call multiple times in a 3 hour time period for anyone to even address the situation. Then when I tried to file a claim, that person called me back 5 days later after I had left multiple messages. Needless to say, they did not pay for the bike or damaged furniture. All in all they did not handle themselves professionaly and were not all about customer service. I would not recommend these movers to anyone!!! read more

I used EZ Movers due to being quoted the lowest rate out if all of the moving companies I solicited out to for my move which we just finished. I dont even know where to begin. I absolutely hate this company and their services! Their moving crew was absolutely rude to my husband on the day of pickup and they were rude on the day of delivery. They rushed us to sign off on the final move because they were ready to leave. They left all of their trash in our garage because they told us their pay would be docked if they haul it away. Some of our items were missing. (I'm filing the claim tomorrow). Items that could have fitted in a box were counted as a single item. This increased my overall item count. The final cost of my move was increased by more than $500 which completely eliminated any "discounts" I was given. They lost precious items my husband and I received when we were married more than 10 years ago. I hate this company and their practices. DO NOT USE THEM!!! They have no empathy for us as a customer. I could go on but it just upsets me more. I would not recommend them EVER! I called and left a message with the claims person and did not receive a call back. Instead I got an email and was advised conversation from now on has to be done in writing. I am utterly appauled at the level of service I received. I was told by Voltaire he would be my single point of contact and that he would take care of everything. I wish I would have read these reviews first. I cannot advise how disappointed I am in this company. I will be reporting them to the BBB and I will go on ever website I can and advise everyone NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY AND NOT BE FOOLED BY THE DISCOUNTS BECAUSE THERE REALLY ISNT ANY! 4/15 - Update - Just because their company representative responds to every complaint to justify what happened doesnt mean anything. Their customer serivce is rude. When I called this morning even the manager was rude! I left a message with someone named Kelly and she never responded. After I spoke to Nathalia, we went through the rest of our items and noticed more things were missing. Yes we found the remote but it doesnt forgive your company for leaving things behind. Your driver did not do any type of walk through because he was in a hurry to leave! He told my husband to sign so they could leave because THEY WERE IN A HURRY. My husband told me he had every cabinet open. Funny thing is, our toiletries which were in the same cabinet as the towels yhou mentioned above made it to our home but the towels didnt? If you are "supposedly" a professional moving crew, how did you manage to pack some items and leave o thers and they were in the same location? If I am PAYING YOU to be the professional, why should I have to or would even want to double check your work to ensure you did your job correctly. This just speaks to my earlier point of the lack of professionalism and empathy! As I stated before. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IT IS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE! read more

I feel bad for those who had a negative experience with E-Z Movers but I had the opposite! We originally booked a different moving company two weeks prior to or move and had what we thought was a valid assessment of what was to be moved included on our quote, they showed and had nothing but negative attitude about how much stuff we had to move. They complained about every room and then said they would not move us because they couldn't do it in the quoted 4-5 hours. In addition they said they didn't have enough to wrap our furniture as we thought was included in our bound quote...long story short, it became very heated once they told us three times that they were NOT going to move us, that I had to actually kick them out of my house. Once outside, they said they would give me a refund of my deposit (that they had in the truck) but they actually got in the truck and drove off!! I immediately called EZ Movers; they were there in 2 hours and moved us with a great attitude in less than 5 hours! Pleasant, friendly, respectful and NO DAMAGED goods! They knew their job and did it very well! Thank you EZ Movers for saving the day for us! PS: they charged exactly what was quoted weeks prior! read more

Please do not use them! They broke my TV, uncharged me for everything, and were rude. Just don't. Trust me trust me trust me. Oh and they took forever. Literally slept on an air mattress for 3 weeks while pregnant on the floor, had to uber to IKEA to get basic things just to survive, bc I had no pots, pans, etc. DO NOT GO WITH THEM!!! read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I hired this unprofessional company for my cross country move. The "owner", Steve, is very unprofessional and rude. Once they have your money and they have your furniture you are at their mercy. I hired them to pack and move me across the country. The packers were good but the driver refused to deliver my furniture even after I confirmed I had wire transferred the balance to the company. The "owner" Steve did not care at all that I had arranged for someone to accept delivery and now the driver was going to be late. read more

This was my first time using a moving company and despite what some of these reviews are saying- I had the best experience with EZ movers. I called them about 2 weeks before I needed them to show up for a long distance move from Chicago to Arizona. Not only did they get me a quote the same day but they were by far the lowest out of all the companies I inquired with. Their agent called and we got everything set up. The day before they were supposed to pick up everything someone in the office called just to re-confirm and make sure I didnt have any questions/additional needs. My pickup window was at 9am on a Thursday and at 8:50 I got a call that the truck was there. The guys loaded everything in 90 minutes (from a 3rd floor walk up), wrapped my furniture, filled out the paper and were off. I also should also add that both of them were super polite. A week and a half later Uzi called to say he'd be at my new house between 12-2 the next day. He got there early at 11am- no complaints on my end. I gave him my balance, him and his guys unloaded everything, were unbelievably nice to me, and they were out within an hour. Everything arrived that should have and nothing was damaged. I would definitely recommend them if you havent used a moving company before- they really made this a low stress process for me!!! read more
I used EZ Movers for a local move, mainly because they were fast with the quote and then kept contacting me. Our crew arrived a few minutes early and went through the procedure with us. Like others have said on here, once they arrived we were quoted more time and costs both for the extra labor and packing costs which we were not notified of ahead of time. We ended up foregoing many of these and moved certain items on our own which ended up being better in the long run. I think they could tell we were put off it was going to take longer than expected so I was very impressed with how fast they worked to stay within the time we were quoted. Since they stayed under the time, one of them told us we could give them a good tip. Overall I got what I expected from them and would recommend to someone for a local move. read more

DO NOT USE E-Z Movers, Inc. I had the worst experience. There were hidden charges I wasn't notified of until they showed up late at my apartment. They took 11 days to deliver my items even though they estimated it would take 3-5 days. The moves spilled a large nalgene of coke all over my couch and then wrapped it in plastic without cleaning it up. When they delivered my stuff they came two hours early without warning so I wasn't home. Then they realized that they delivered in the wrong order and couldn't get to my stuff on the truck because it was in the back. They left and came back over 6 hours later at 8pm without any explanation or apology even though they had promised they would be there much earlier. There were also hidden fees for the distance from the truck to my front door on delivery even though it was a one level house and they will walk up three flights of stairs to move someone without fees. In addition, their "binding estimate" was hugely underestimated and I was forced to pay the full amount. There customer service was awful and when I called to make sure they still going to deliver even though it was 8pm, they told me they had no idea where the truck was, who the driver was, and if they were still going to delivery my things. Please save yourself money and hassle and go somewhere else. read more

I'm not a reviewing type of person but I felt very jaded from my experience and have nowhere else to turn so here I am. Recently I had a cross country move to plan so I did a lot of research before settling on a moving company that was affordable and had decent reviews. I came across EZ movers and I don't want to completely bash the guys because its more of a company policy I am unhappy with and not necessarily their employees. -Scheduling was easy -Movers showed up early which was great. They don't tell you about all the "extras" you'll be paying for but again, it was such a last minute move I was ok way it. And by extras I mean the packing tape they use, blankets, etc. -They give you a 21 day window when your stuff was going to arrive, I always plan for the worst and good thing because it took around 24 or 25 I believe. Again, not a big deal, was assuming this would be the case moving across the country. -I had to continually call to get updates on the 22nd day and they kept having me call the driver which I thought was strange. Why not get an update and let me know, not track down the driver. -The driver finally arrived towards the end of the day and it was apparent I was his last delivery. He had me help check items off on the sheet as he removed them from the truck as he was in a hurry. -They had me help remove blankets that were wrapped around my furniture and hurried me along to sign all the spots I needed to sign as they were in a hurry. -They leave, I begin unpacking and noticed my coffee table had large dents/scratches all over it, and the bottom rack for magazines was busted. Next, I notice one of the legs on my tv stand is snapped in half. I think , oh well, they broke it, I'll just file something and get reimbursed for the estimated value assuming depreciation. -I file what they ask me to file and they respond saying, we will give you $0 for the coffee table that I would be embarrassed to have in my home and $24 for the broke entertainment center which cannot support a TV. They say that they use some ridiculous weight to dollar insurance policy that is standard in the industry unless I opted to pay more for insurance. I didn't know that I had to pay a company an extra amount of money on top of their rates to make sure my stuff gets here in one piece. This seems like a policy that if applied to most industries, companies would fail. -Next, I contact the governing body who oversees claims to see what else I can do. They now have sent me paperwork to begin arbitration but the value of stuff needs to be greater than X amount to even make it worth while. Otherwise Im paying more in fees to get a payment less than what I would be paying, does make financial sense. So here I am, cannot do anything else but vent. Please make sure you keep the drop off guy there to witness you unpack ever item or else you'll be screwed if something is broke. Your move EZ Movers. Chad J moved from Chicago. read more

This is probably the worst moving company in the world. If they offered free service I would not let them near my place. We called them in for a estimate and they came out for the estimate and gave us a price. The price was reasonable so we decided to go with them. On the day of the move they came in with a contract with the price being double of what they had quoted me. Then when I asked them that the price is too high they told me too bad and thats the price. Then they walked out! I was left with a house full of boxes and had to move out that day. I ended up calling up a different company to come in and do a same day service with cost me more. I would not trust them at all. They will try to screw you any which why they can. read more

I had these guys for a local move and couldn't be happier with every part of the experience. Leo(I think that was the foreman's name) and crew, seriously were fantastic. It was one of the hottest days of the year and they moved me into a 4th floor walk up and didnt complain a bit about it. They showed up exactly on time, worked their asses off, all my stuff was in perfect condition when I got it into my new place. Moving is always such a stressful time, and really this whole process couldnt have gone any smoother and I couldn't be happier I chose them as my moving company. read more

These guys saved the day after a very terrible experience with another moving company that left me high & dry on short notice for a cross-country move. E-Z swooped in, picked up my things on short notice, & provided very professional courteous service. Only minus 1 star since it took a little longer to get my things than originally planned, but that is also due to the fact that it took me longer to report a deliver to address than intended. I enjoyed my experience with E-Z Movers & would use them again indeed. read more

I really enjoyed working with E-Z Movers! What first attracted me to them was the amazing, affordable price. The experience improved even more when I was working with the customer service department to get everything settled, and I worked with Brian! In addition, I had to store my items for 3 months, and they allowed me to have 3.5 months free storage!!! The movers were very prompt, super fast and extremely friendly. The one thing that was slightly difficult, was I moved long distance (Chicago to Ohio) and there was a 10-day window for drop-off that made it hard to coordinate, but they did work with me. I would definitely recommend E-Z Movers. read more

Just wanted to give a big shout out to this moving company. I moved in early March and called them in mid February. Everything in regards to my relocation was moving by quickly, and I needed to find a moving company STAT. I shopped around and was quoted so much higher from other companies than the figure EZ movers quoted me. They had already come my way through a recommendation, so I decided to give them a try. Not only did they accommodate my last minute request, but also were so quick, professional and friendly. They were so fast, I completely forgot to pack up my food in the fridge before they were ready to go! My move ended up to be cheaper than they had originally quoted and they were done in a few hours. Everything was taken care of, nothing was damaged. Great local movers! Would definitely recommend and use them again! read more

I used EZ movers for short distance moves on 2 occasions. The first time went fine so I think this speaks more to the individual sales associates involved with scheduling/customer service. I scheduled a move a month prior with a sales associate named Brian, and didn't need to pay a deposit right away. I needed to reschedule and/or cancel the move and tried calling multiple times (general company number) with no one answering phone calls/inability to leave a voicemail. A few days prior to the move I went into the office and cancelled with the owner without a fine which was really nice. Right after canceling I realized I was able to make the move/moved things around my schedule to make it work. 15 min after I cancelled, I walked back into the office building and instead of speaking to the owner I was director to Brian, the individual I originally booked the move with. Brian checked with whoever in the back office and said he was able to book the original move again (15 min after canceling). Great, everything's fine right? The night before, I sent Brian an email confirming the move and he confirms. The day of the move comes and no one shows at the scheduled time. I call Brian who doesn't know what's going on. After an hour of going back and forth Brian realizes he or the owner re-scheduled me for the wrong date and offered to reschedule at a different time during the day. It was inconvenient as I had a meeting that day, and if I rescheduled for a different day I would have pay that day's rate (which is way higher). I asked why I would have to pay a higher rate/penalty for his mistake and he kept repeating, "that's the rate for the day" and "are you sure you didn't ask the owner about that day?". How rude! He was clearly trying to pass some blame onto me instead of taking responsibility. I had no documentation/proof of the meeting with the owner or the interaction I had when I rescheduled with Brian which he knew. After going back and forth with Brian and calling work to reschedule the meeting, I agreed to a move later in the day. Only issue was the drive time was going to double as the rescheduled time that day was during prime time traffic so I asked the extra drive time to be rebated. Brian refused stating "we just start the time when the move starts and stop it when it stops" so i asked to speak to his manager - Steve. This guys even more disrespectful. They offered no compensation for the additional time/didn't offer a price match to reschedule to another day for their mistake. I agreed begrudgingly as it was too late to schedule with another company, and Steve says "we have the right to decline our services if we see fit". I was dumbfounded. The customer service of Brian and Steve was terrible. He's human and made a mistake, fine, but why would they penalize me for their mistake? They offer no compensation whatsoever for their mistake and I literally lost money that day. As a consumer in the Skokie/Chicago area I will not be using their services again. Though they offer comparable pricing, the customer service is void, and they may end up costing you more. I'm also still waiting (4 days later) for the money they said would be returned if I didn't use the full amount of time scheduled... The movers themselves, Jerry and Mark, were very friendly and the move itself went fine but there's plenty other companies in the area who may be more organized and respectful. read more

Overall I would recommend E-Z Movers - They seem like they have a process for everything. I didn't have to do any work and they provided me with the materials I otherwise would have had to buy (boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc...) --- These Chicago movers are professional in every way. Thanks guys! read more
Awful. Don't do it! First of all, Brian was very nice when we first spoke to him. We booked our move like more than a month in advance. When we spoke, he told us if our stuff is being picked up on August 27th, that we should get there by August 1st just in case our stuff arrived. Even though this was before the 7-10 day policy, I listened to him because I didn't want my stuff to be put into storage if we weren't there when they got there with our stuff. So, we got there on August 1st. Our stuff didn't arrive until August 7th. Ok, this is within their 7-10 day policy, but Brian should have NEVER told us to get there earlier than that. We were sleeping on air mattresses for about a week. How miserable. Not to mention how unprofessional the movers were when they were picking up our stuff in Chicago. We got a call the day before telling us they would be at our house by 8am. They got there at 7am, insisting they come in the house. By all means, this would have been great if we were up and ready to go! We had to tell them to wait. Then, the price they gave us in the end was $700 more than the estimated quote. This included a truck fee of $175?? I didn't know about that before they actually got there. This was ridiculous. But they were there and how else were we going to move our stuff?? Towards the end of the move, they told us that not all of our stuff was going to fit but they would ignore the extra $200 for the extra square footage if we gave them a big tip. Ok, so we gave them a big tip. They still convinced us that our two dressers would not fit. So we said ok, and they said they would help us bring them down. They did help us bring them down, but put them right into their truck!! Like they were keeping them or something? We surely didn't get them when our stuff arrived. The truck driver was responsive and very nice. He got everything moved in very quickly along with the mover with him. All of our boxes were bent in and a lot of our glasses were broken. We had a couple pieces of furniture that broke in the process also. All in all, DONT USE EZ MOVERS. You are better off getting your own truck and driving it yourself!!!! read more

I'll preface this by saying that I did not hire EZ Movers for our moving needs. I however did request a quote from the company. Be warned that once you request a quote from the company, they will call you every day, non stop, to follow up with you. I was obtaining estimates from several companies, so I did not follow up with one single company immediately. However, being harassed by this company every single day while making my decision, made me think twice about using them. Part of me appreciates that they appreciate my business. But at some point it needs to stop. read more

In 2008, I made a cross-country move from Iowa City to Seattle. The movers on the Iowa City side were quick and efficient. The price was reasonable and I thought I was going to have a great experience. I even gave the movers a substantial tip so that they'd have no reason to 'misplace' any of my stuff. Two weeks later, when my stuff got to Seattle, they unpacked and rushed me to sign off. I looked around and everything seemed to be in order: foolishly naive on my part. They lost/took an xbox 360, several controllers, various games, and various adapter upgrades. In addition, they broke a shelf. I filed a complaint, and they refused to compensate me for anything, given that they had convinced me to sign off before I inventoried everything. Lesson learned. They offered a nominal settlement check to cover the damaged shelf, and I begrudgingly signed off to put the matter behind me. 8 months later and they didn't even have the decency to send the check. I'm sure that they Recognize that the arbitration clause would require me to file a claim in Chicago, while I now live in Seattle, so they're just going to completely screw me over. I've written numerous letters asking what happened, and they just ignore me. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THESE GUYS! Even though their rates seem low, you really do get what you pay for. If I were to do it all over again, I would go with anyone else, even if E-Z movers offered to do it for free. read more

I should've believed the reviews on this company. I received a quote from them that was well priced and seemed to be perfect. Given that I was moving into a high rise building, I had to reserve an elevator from 1pm-3pm, which is not flexible at all. I told the delivery company this, and they confirmed they would be at my old place at 11am to pack and load my furniture, and make it in time at 1pm at the new place. They showed up at 12:30pm instead and tried to rush through everything. Because they were running late, they packed everything poorly and didn't care about the furniture. One of them broke a leg on my dresser, the other one forgot to remove the shelves on my media towers and they got banged up pretty bad during the move. We finally arrived at my new place at 2:45pm, and the condo wouldn't let me move in since we missed our time window. There was another person using the elevator from 3pm-5pm, and the movers understood that they had to make this right, so they volunteered to help those people, if in return they allowed me to use the elevator as well. I thought that was great news, except they only did it because they expected to get a tip from those people. One of them got so upset after they didn't get tipped that he kept telling me "We take care of you if you take care of us", literally asking me for tips. He said this to me like three times while unloading my stuff. I mentioned something to the effect that I don't carry cash on me, and he said that he saw an ATM downstairs. I was literally intimidated into tipping them even though they were late and broke a lot of my stuff. Finally, one of them unwrapped my mirror and literally celebrated the fact that it didn't break, as if that's something to celebrate! At the end, they mentioned they would send a repairman to fix my dresser within the week. It's been over two weeks now and I still haven't heard from them. The insurance I would get for my broken items was 6 cents. You read that right, 6 cents! And the best part is that they charged me for the two hours they went over their time frame, bringing my total from the original $600 quote to almost $1,100! So I basically paid for them to move someone else into their unit. When I called the company, they wouldn't change their charges and said that it's my responsibility. My advice would be for people to believe the reviews. This is the worst delivery company you will ever deal with. Nothing EZ about it. read more

I'm not even sure where to begin...maybe with that the movers are still moving my things out of my apartment but I feel so compelled to write something now. I had many conversations with my sales rep., Denise. I gave her exact inventory, told her sizes of things etc. I was quoted $1,100 for my move from Boston to Chicago. It seemed really reasonable and I was even prepared to have some extra fees come with that on the day of the move and I would still be OK with it. What am I NOT OK with? MY FINAL PRICE OF $1800. I kid you not. My quote jumped nearly double. The guy who was in charge was completely rude and told me he's adding money because I am on the fourth floor. THERE ARE NOT EVEN FOUR FLOORS IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX. Convenient, because at floor 4 is when the moving company increases the price. He then "estimated" that I had about an additional 100 cubic feet than what my inventory quote stated. So i'm supposed to assume that because he's been moving for a while he can just eyeball my cubic feet and tack on 106 additional CF? Then he charged me for $50 of materials, you know, that shrink wrap gets you every time, for FIFTY DOLLARS. He then proceeded to tell me that some of my furniture was too fragile and antique and that he basically couldn't guarantee it would even be remotely safe. He then told me that my sofa was three sections.... IT IS NOT. It is exactly two pieces. So he added more costs. All in all, AVOID this company at all costs, they're rude, not customer-service-oriented, and will quote you low so you agree to their services and then the day of when it's too late, will increase your price read more

If you have a choice don't use this company. I moved long distance just before the holidays and had to make arrangements quickly. I didn't have time to research and just called two companies that Google search returned. One of them was booked (holidays was the main reason) and EZ Movers were available. The arrangement was quick and the quote seemed reasonable. However, I was surprised by extra $2500 I had to pay for narrowing the delivery window from 10 to 2 days (a third of the total cost). It was OK, though, I really wanted to sleep in my own bed so I decided to go for it. The main problem was with the delivery crew. They were reckless with moving furniture leaving significant marks on the staircase walls; loading and unloading. Some of them were not really physically fit to do the job and they struggled, which contributed to the problem. They constantly complained. Either about the weight of my boxes or the amount of work they had to do - the unloading crew had two deliveries on the same day and were unhappy to work more than 8 hours on the same day. A lot of stuff has been damaged. This included things that they had packed, like a large desk or bikes. They explained that the other load shifted in the truck and heavily hit my things. The customer service is not very responsive; perhaps because they are very busy with all the complaints they are getting. read more

I used E-Z Movers twice in the last couple of years. I had a decent experience with the first move in 2012, but my last move in 2014 was completely unacceptable. The move involved moving me from my condo to their facility one day, then moving me from their facility to my new place the next day, so it was 2 moves. Now, this is a slightly more complicated move, but there were some clear missteps on their part that warrant a "how is this company still in business?" thought. Couple of items I want to warn potential movers of with this company, just so that you can be an informed consumer: - The people at the office are very nice and will give you a very nice quote. Now multiply it by 2, and hope it ends up only being 1.5 times more. That's closer to the true cost. - Vigilantly watch over the people moving you. I don't care if they need to smoke or rest, as they often did during my move, but you're paying by the hour - do that on your own time or factor in a break that I don't have to pay for. Also, they're filling out the inventory list, which you have no way of verifying unless you literally follow around the guy and watch him do the work. It's unfortunate, but you have to do that or you might end up with missing items with no recourse (more below on that). If something seems wrong on the form, do not sign it. - When you ask how much longer, it will always be "a half hour", and you will stop believing them 2 hours after they first said it. - They have to manually fill out every form they have you sign, and you're paying hourly - so you are paying $2.45 per minute (on a $147/hour job) while one of the movers writes in your address and move information on each form. I am guessing E-Z Movers didn't want to splurge and have that technology at their office where they could pre-print these forms. Added an extra 15 minutes to each of my moves. - It takes the office people in Skokie days to respond to anything (including Yelp reviews, apparently - looking forward to your reply Ehmil B about how I, like all of your customers, are clearly in the wrong!). I called to complain about the people that moved me out of my condo; I get a response 4 days later. I called about a missing item; I get a call and email over a week later. - The moving crews don't bring their own water apparently, so be prepared to offer that. My move in crew wasn't very pleased when I explained all my cups were packed (odd, I know! It's like I'm moving) so I couldn't offer them water. - Moving crews also do not come equipped with things that might seem necessary for a mover, like a ladder. They asked to borrow my neighbor's ladder at the condo I was moving from because they needed to stack the boxes in their truck. What company owns a truck but doesn't have the proper equipment inside that truck to properly pack it and requires a consumer to supply the proper tools for a crew to do their job? Seriously, Ehmil B, I would LOVE to know the answer to that. Cost too prohibitive to properly equip your trucks for E-Z Movers? - I did end up losing part of a couch - the legs, which were removed (as they are in any move). My move involved 195 items or so, and apparently i missed that they never delivered the legs to the sofa (back to my earlier point - follow the movers around the ENTIRE TIME if you want all your stuff). I call the office to make a claim roughly 2 weeks after the move - I wanted to ensure they weren't packed elsewhere, and I missed it. I get a call and a follow up email from Natalia stating that I need to submit a claim form. I fill out the claim form and resubmit. I follow up a week later since I haven't heard a response, and I finally get a response stating that my letter via "postal mail". I received the letter today, which outright denies my claim. Now, this is pretty common - most companies outright deny claims because many people won't take this further. It's a business move, I get it. The denial states, in short, "we say there was nothing wrong, so there's nothing wrong." Again, FOLLOW THE MOVERS AROUND AND ENSURE YOU ARE ACCOUNTING FOR ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Of course, there is a way to make a complaint about this if I'm not satisfied with the outcome - you can file a claim with the American Moving and Storage Association. Awesome, right? No, it isn't - there's a $650 administrative fee charged for all claims under $10,000, of which the consumer is responsible for $300. Any person with basic math skills will tell you that unless the claim is for a very expensive article, you won't be filing a claim. Hmm, I wonder if E-Z Movers realizes this and just denies all claims? If you're looking for a stress free move, consider doing it yourself before going with E-Z Movers. Wish I had! read more

THEY'll STEAL YOUR STUFF - Don't use them I contracted E-Z Movers to move my household items across country. I was lured by the inexpensive quotes but really should have read all the reviews first. Two guys showed up and moved all my items, which I had packed myself and set in the garage for them to load directly into the truck. They were there for less than two hours including signing the paperwork. When everything was done being packed, the main mover, Vincent, asked me for a tip. He said 10% was customary, which is not true. I was unwilling to give him that large of a tip because 5% is customary and because I was the one who packed all the boxes and moved them to the garage where they were very easily loaded on to the truck. Vincent became rude and aggressive in his movements. After a few minutes, he decided to change the paperwork by recalculating the total space of my items so he could write himself a bigger tip. Months later my items arrived on the other end of the move. I was around for the delivery and watched as all my boxes were taken off the truck. The boxes had lots of external damage and looked as if they had been left outside. One of the delivery guys picked a plastic box full of photo negatives up and thousands of negatives spilled out onto the street because the bottom of the box had been split open in transit. All that I would have excused. However, when I started to unpack my items, I noticed that some of my power tools were missing. I had packed them in a large construction bag with a tool manufacturer logo on the outside. The bag contained a few power tools as well as a few other clamps and bulkier items. The bag was secured with a zip tie on the zippers. When the bag arrived, the zip tie was missing along with the power tools. Someone had opened the bag, taken out some of the tools and sent the bag on with the rest of the lesser expensive items still in there. These people are loser dirtbags, crooks and liars. When they first came to my house I was surprised by how greasy they were and how quickly the hair on the back of my neck stood up in their presence - especialIy the guy named Vincent who seemed like a total dirtbag. I would never recommend this business to anyone. I have contacted the local police department here, the PD in the business' hometown and filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

Sadly, this is the last time that I will ignore Yelp reviews before selecting a moving company. The move started out fantastically. I was faced with the challenge of having to be out of my apartment on 6/30 and I couldn't get in to my new apartment until 7/1 so I hired E-Z Movers because they offered free overnight storage, and their quote came in the lowest. Unfortunately, it all ended up being a mistake. To begin with, the movers were supposed to have arrived between 3pm and 5pm. I received a call at 3 informing me that they would be arriving towards the end of the window...not a problem. At 5pm, I had not heard from anyone so I called the dispatcher who informed me it would be closer to 5:45. The team did not show up until 6:15 p.m. After that, things went smoothly for about 30 minutes. The crew worked fast and had me out in no time. However, they managed to rip a fairly large chunk of drywall out of the corner of an archway when they shoved the couch through instead of navigating it around the corner. When I pointed out the damage, one worker said "Aw s***" and the foreman informed me to call customer service so they could "cut a deal." Then when it became time to settle up (they had been at my place for only one hour), I was told that I would be billed for three hours instead of the two hour minimum. The reason was that they "did not know where my stuff would go once it arrived at the storage facility and it would take them time to figure that out." So I am supposed to believe that it will take them two more hours to drive 20 minutes to the storage facility, identify an available unit and unload a truck that took only one hour to load (including elevator trips). Customer Service the next day was apologetic, but not helpful. I was asked to fill out a claim form and send them pictures of the damage. However, the form indicated that once it was signed, you were indicating that the move was completed, so I could not fill out the form until the items had been delivered. Next, even though I was entitled to one month free storage, I found out on Sunday night that my card had been charged for $120. I called on 7/2 to complain about it, and they said "they don't see it yet, but will let me know when they do so they can refund it." On the morning of 7/2 my items were delivered. No major damage so I was assuming that the worst was over. Sadly, we discovered that a box was missing. When I called customer service, they said they would look for it. This left three items outstanding: 1) The damage to the apartment 2) The missing box 3) The erroneous charge The charge was credited back to my account by the bank on 7/6. I assume that they were correct in saying that it had been reversed, but it took time to show on the account. Regardless, it should never have been offered. Several days after receiving the form, they offered to send their contractor to my old apartment (which I no longer have access to) on 7/17 to repair the damage. The damage had already been repaired. Because my previous leasing company could not believe how frustrating E-Z Movers was being, they decided to be generous and eat the cost of the repairs so that I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of fighting E-Z Movers for a reimbursement. Lastly, the missing box was never found. Their response was simply that because the item was not "scanned in" it was not their responsibility. So because the item was not properly checked in by the staff (even though the staff removed it from my apartment), they were not responsible for it. The box contained approximately $900 worth of text books for my graduate school program. Overall, none of these items is big enough to merit a one-star rating. By themselves, they could honestly be described as accidents. However, the combination of all of these incidents combined with the general lack of urgency that the administrative staff displayed in resolving issues, was inexcusable. I will not recommend using them again and sincerely hope you don't either. UPDATE: I appreciate Ehmil's responses. Here are a couple of things to note: 1) I was assured by the foreman that my card would not be charged, but it was. Ehmil clearly indicates that is standard procedure. That should have been clarified. 2) I first informed Natalia that the damage had been repaired but the company would bill me $75 which was what they quoted me. She never responded except to say a repairman would be dispatched. I asked the management company how to proceed, they decided it would not be worth it to continue. I informed Natalia of this 12 days after the damage, not immediately as Ehmil indicates. 3) No one knows where the box is. I only know it was in my apartment, then it was taken out, and it was never returned. My assumption is that it had something to do with this company, however, since I didn't catalogue everything item, I understand that I am out the money. read more

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER. - The movers arrived over 45 minutes late, with a small rented truck (not a company van) - Based on a handwritten list of items they had (which did NOT match the list we discussed on the phone), they immediately told me they were doubling my moving cost to more than $1000; because I needed to move that day, I had no choice but to sign the new contract - I called customer service at this point to discuss my extreme dissatisfaction and the rep HUNG UP ON ME, radioed the movers while i was standing with them, CANCELED MY MOVE, and made the movers unpack my stuff from the truck - I was so astounded and panicked that I called her back, apologizing profusely for expressing any anger previously ... I even offered to pay the inflated price in cash up front - anything to continue with the move that my fiance, sister and friends had all taken the day off of work to accomplish What I have finally figured out is that this is in no way unusual. They will do anything to get your business on the phone, and anything to screw you over on the day of the move. They are under new management (see their boilerplate response to many complaints on this site), and this is their new business model. They bring a truck that is too small so they can charge you for additional trips or more time AND they drastically inflate your moving cost at a time when you basically have no way to say no. I ended up calling Two Men & A Truck, and I can't say enough amazing things about them. They were fast, courteous, efficient and moved everything in less than 4 hours for $575. read more

I'm still in the middle of a mess with E-Z so if you're looking to use them, I recommend you save yourself the pain. My girlfriend used them before and was very happy with their prices and service. So I agreed to use them for our move. At first, everything seemed fine. 4 guys showed up at my girlfriends house to pick up her stuff. Everything seemed to go smoothly. But then when they came to my place, there were only 3 guys. One disappeared until about 2 hrs later when we were pretty much finished with my stuff. (I will say, the 3 other workers were good though) Then when unloading at our new place, we had a glass night stand broken beyone repair. A desk, which we just got back almost a month later with glue all over the obvious spots they repaired it at. (I'd also like to add that they promised delivery of the desk a few days earlier on a specified date and time. We waited and waited during that time. No delivery. We called them to see if they were still coming. No answer. Left a message. No call back. They damaged our headboard to the bed. We had to throw out my DVD tower after they took it outside after it was turned upside down, losing all the pegs and parts that held the shelves in. I wasn't about to search the lawn for all the parts they lost. They also demolished my blu ray player which cost me about $150 when I bought it. They offer $ .30 per pound. I'd say my player was about 5lbs. So do the math. That's about $1.50. They honestly offered it too. When I refused that, they claimed there was a possibility for a refurbished unit. Which I would take, but they can't confirm this is something they can do still. But the worst part is the lack of customer service. If you go through my review and still want to chance it, just pray no damages occur because their customer service is horrible. We've been promised multiple call backs with no delivery on those. We have to call 2-3 times a day to leave voicemails that never get a response. So this weekend will mark the 1 month timeframe and we still can't get an idea of how much we are going to be reimbursed for all the damages they caused. So an update is very possible. But I'm doubting they'll offer us anything close to what would make up for the hellish experience we've had with them. There are so many moving companies in the Chicagoland area. Take my advise, and use someone else. ************ Additional Comments to Ehmil with E-Z****************** Ehmil, Since I can only message you directly and can't respond to your comments in a public manner, I've edited my review to respond. I appreciate your quick response to my review. I only wish your Customer Service was on the same level of speed and communication. I am completely understanding of the fact that you need time to process claims. That is not the issue here. The issue is the promise of communication. We were told probably a total of ten times that we would receive calls back to keep us posted on the status of our furniture you had on your possesion. Your company failed and failed to do this. And the promise of a refurbished blu ray player was put in writing only today(At first it was going to be a DVD player, not the same thing) So we had to correct that. I agree that your customer service department might have been working "diligently" on these things. But how would we know? When we call and leave messages with no response, what choice does that give us but to voice our opinion publicly? It's called Customer Service. Communication is key. When you leave us with little response, what choice does that give us as your customer?? Even though the issues are resolved on your end, $ .30 per pound is not fair when you're destroying people's expensive furniture. Especially when it's electronic equipment that gets broken. I'm just glad we saw it hidden away on a shelf before your movers left. I stand behind my review, which I'm entitled to, and would go elsewhere if moving in the future. Thank you for your interest. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would!!!!! I didn't even use them because when the mover got there and said it would be $150 to bubble wrap my cocktail/end tables and sofa I said no way! Then he said the estimate was WAY OFF, and wanted to add another $400 to the estimate saying that it would take more than 4 hours (with 4 movers) . So I called All Seasons instead, got the job done in 4 hours (with 3 movers) and paid $400 - now I'm trying to get my $100 deposit back, still waiting. read more

These guys are horrible. First off, it took them 3 weeks to arrive (they quoted much less time). The drivers and laborers are awful. They damaged my furniture and didn't bother to respond to my claim. Also, held my furniture hostage until I gave them an extra $250 b/c the distance was more than 20 ft between the drop off point and my apt - this is in the VERY small fine print, but was never disclosed upfront. The quote is cheap until you factor in all the issues. USE SOMEONE MORE REPUTABLE, EVEN IF IT COSTS SLIGHTLY MORE. read more

Warning - Do not get these guys! I explained every item in my household in detail. The cost they presented, once packed up, was hundreds over the estimate. They arrived late. They gave me a delivery window that was not met. When I called them (the second time) they told me delivery was for "tomorrow". Nice heads-up. "Tomorrow" was very difficult for me and they told me if I didn't take it then, it would cost an additional $1000. They were rude beyond belief! They held me hostage with me stuff. I did make "tomorrow" work (like I had a choice). Drivers dropped off stuff and when turning around the truck in the neighborhood took out a transformer and power lines which left 1/2 the hood without power for hours. The accident in the hood was incidental and I probably wouldn't even mention however, their customer service is so poor and this is such a bad company that it is justified to mention. RUN, RUN FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!! read more

I used E-Z Movers recently in a move from Chicago to Las Vegas. They seemed very friendly and helpful up front. They want there money up front which is fine. As far as doing things right an on time? Letleft the 's just say they are in no rush. The guys that showed up to pack the stuff up were great. They are not the problem at all. But when they want to charge for bubble wrap and packing material, that changes things. When I put in for the estimate, they knew that I had a TV. There was nothing saying I would be charged extra money to put this in a box and wrap it up. Same with the dresser and other small items. Everything was already boxed and ready to go. So they add $99.50 on the morning of. What could I do though? I was moving out in 2 days. I had to just agree. They promise a 15 business day window, but they say oh, it never takes that long. Well, it did. They messaged me on the 11th day saying my stuff had left Skokie and was on it's way. I began making changes to my work schedule so I could be home that Friday or Saturday. They message me on Wednesday saying my stuff DID NOT leave and they claimed the driver was sick... So they didn't know this on Monday when they said that the stuff had left? Interesting. In the end, the 15th business day came and went. My stuff showed up on the 22nd day (they had 21 full days) later at night. I called the office a few times and it took forever to finally get to a manager that just gave me attitude. I asked how they could promise by a certain date and then not do it. He offered me $15 dollars (per the contract....which is only listed on 1 of the 15 pages I signed and it is not even filled out correctly) as a penalty to them for being late. 15 DOLLARS!!!!!!! The guy continued with his attitude because there was really nothing I could do at this point but write a bad review. I told him to go fuck himself and that I would not accept the $15. Honestly, I would never use these guys again. If I ever heard of anyone interested in using them, I would strongly discourage. They hold you hostage. They make you pay up front and then they take your stuff. They can do whatever they want. There is nothing you can do to defend yourself against them. Really terrible company to work with. read more

TERRIBLE HELL EXPERIENCE!!!!! Start with customer service--was, at best, OK. The estimate I was give was off by $1800 for a 2 BR move! I ended up paying close to 3 grand. The guys who came and did the packing spoke little English--communication was awful! I had to be at work so I left my daughter to supervise. My mattresses were not unwrapped (one guy distracted my daughter while the other hauled them away). At the receiving end, the guys were late. I had to wait three weeks to get my stuff. Customer service was awful. My unwrapped mattresses were damaged. The guys, knowing their fault, had my son sign for the goods the minute they showed up at the door (since again I was at work) before we found out (at the end) that the matttresses were damaged. When I arrived, close to the end--and saw the damage...they uttered in poor English . . . ."call office, call office...: Well, I called the office (claims) and no one answered the phone or returned my call for days. Finally, I managed to touch base with a Ms. S (who acted rather arrogantly and heartlessly). She did not seem to care at all. I sent her pictures too. I filed a claim for my damaged mattresses, and I told Ms. S that this matter was not about money but about "doing the right thing." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They purposely overcharge, perform poor service, and when they do wrong--they shift blame and NEVER admit their mistakes. I looked them up at the BBB, and their rating is an F!!! You need to be really, really careful if considering using this company for a long distance move. Actually, you need to be insane to pick this company! First, you do your own estimate. They charge by cubic foot, so once the packing/loading crew arrives, they may inform at that time that you underestimated. And the price goes up quickly, especially their crazy charges for packing tape and boxes. Everything is based on cubic footage, so you may end paying $700-1,000+ for a couple of hundred dollars worth of tape and boxes. Second, you need to pay 25% upon booking; 50% upon pickup and 25% upon delivery. And remember, you won't have exact figures until the complete the loading, so you will not be able to get a cashier's check or money order in advance. I admit we underestimated our cubic footage and ended up paying about $1,000 more than expected for the space and the packing material mark-up For pick up, they give you a 3 day window. They called the night before and arrived right on time. The packing and load crew were nice guys, but very unskilled in moving and spoke little English. Took them about 12 hours to load a small house. Very disorganized and they very obviously expected a large tip in cash which we did not give them (by the way, if you expect us to give them a tip, tell us BEFORE the move instead of giving me a form to sign AFTER pack/load to say they are expecting a 10-15% tip. Just did not have that much cash on me at midnight!!) You get a stack of paperwork that you have to sign. The crew does not speak English so they cannot help you, and no one in the office will answer the phone, so you have to wing it. Also, we were not allowed to verify the inventory. I was required to sign it after it was done, but I could not read my copy. We were told by the sales rep, Greg, to indicate on the paperwork the earliest date they could deliver to our new address. They promise deliver within 10 days and we were told several times to not put in a date before we would be at our new place. However, in reading the paperwork, they have 10 business days to deliver AFTER that "earliest" date. After we got to our new place, it took us several days and multiple calls/e-mails until we got confirmation of our delivery date. Amanda O. was very helpful in getting us a confirmation on 7/12 of a 7/14 delivery date. The delivery crew showed up on time. Again, they spoke little English and the first order of business was to get my check for the balance and to sign the inventory forms as complete BEFORE they took anything off the truck. Once again,no inventory control. In EVERY other move I have made, the movers have us check off each box/item as it is brought in. We tried to do that, but we could not find the items on our copy of the inventory and the crew would not slow down enough for us to track the stuff. Oh,wait, I forgot - they already made me sign that it was all there! It began very obvious that the packing crew either had no clue what they were doing or did a bad shop on purpose. While the furniture made it okay (minus several broken lamps), most of our household goods were dumped into wardrobe boxes. Including all of our hanging clothes (dresses, suites, dress shirts). All of which are wrinkled and dirty. It is going to take at least a week to unpack and assess damages and it was heartbreaking to see our personal items treated like trash. I have been assured by Amanda and Caroline that our damage claim will be processed in due course and per our contract, which probably means I will get $20 after months of paperwork and phone calls. Of course, they have no local rep to assess the damages, so it will be our word against theirs, and we will lose. Actually, we lost the moment we signed up with this company, and the hits keep coming. As a final insult, the crew refused to set up our entertainment center (gee, they took it apart!) or to pack out any of their trash. "Not in your contract" was the one English phrase they were very good at. So, we made a bad choice with this group. Amanda O tries hard, but what can she do when the crews break and/or trash your stuff? She must have the worst job in the world - professional apologist for the world's worst moving company. Save your stuff, your money, and your sanity - use ANYONE but E-Z Movers. Face it, moving is tough enough without the insane stress that they add to the process. read more

I agree with all the negative comments before and especially the one that says I WUD RATE THEM NO STARS OR NEGATIVE STARS IF YELP ALLOWED THAT. I PAID THIS GANG OF THIEVES (AND THUGS) MORE THAN 200% OF THE ORIGINAL QUOTE THEY GAVE ME. And I feel cheated, humiliated..... Worst experience of my life. THESE BUGGERS DESERVE TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS. To put things in perspective, here is how my experience was - BEFORE placing the order - This is a binding estimate. We will not charge you a dime more than this. And they will list down everything that you tell them as inventory. Then you pay the ADVANCE. BIG MISTAKE. AFTER placing the order - Then the NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING THUG from this company that shows up on your door with a contract that does not have half the things that you told the marketing guy who gave you the quote. This THUG then tells you, it will cost you 200% more. He then tells you, IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT, YOU CANCEL THE ORDER. YOU FORFEIT YOUR DEPOSIT. I WILL GO. Basically - they make you feel every step of the way after placing the order that ONCE YOU PAY THE ADVANCE, THEY HAVE YOU BY YOUR BALLS. BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy tells you that if you pack your stuff, we just move it. NO EXTRA CHARGES. AFTER placing the order - Then the NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING THUG from this company that shows up on your door tells you that the unpacked large toys are unacceptable. AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY 15 DOLLARS PER ITEM FOR THEM TO PACK THOSE. BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy tells you that the movers will call 1 day in advance before showing up. AFTER placing the order - The THUGS from this company call you 1 hour in advance and you have to drop everything that you are doing so that you can be there. NO PRICES FOR GUESSING WHY...... BECAUSE THEY HAVE YOUR DEPOSIT (READ BALLS) AND EVERYTIME THERE IS A THREAT - "IF YOU ARE NOT THERE, I GO BACK....YOU LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT OR YOU PAY 500 DOLLARS EXTRA IN CASE ITS DELIVERY" BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy will tell you that coast to coast you will have your stuff within 10 days as HE HAS TRUCKS WAITING TO MOVE YOUR STUFF. When you see the contract and ask him why the contract says 3 weeks, HE WILL TELL YOU THAT THE CONTRACT HAS TO HAVE ADDITIONAL TIME FOR CONTINGENCIES. Reasonable.... you wud think. AFTER placing the order - ONCE THE DEPOSIT IS OUT OF YOUR POCKET AND INSIDE EZMOVERS VAULTS, PLUS THE ADDITIONAL 80% OF THE BALANCE THAT THE THUG PICKING UP YOUR STUFF EXTORTS FROM YOU, you are left with NO MONEY AND NO STUFF. They have both. Then they take their own sweet time to deliver. MY STUFF WAS PICKED UP ON 2ND MARCH AND I RECEIVED IT ON 22ND MARCH..... couple of days before the contract expired. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT IT TAKES 3 WEEKS TO GET YOUR STUFF, I WOULD HAVE NEVER AGREED TO SUCH ARRANGEMENTS. Imagine living in an empty house with two toddlers and having to manage your kitchen without bare minimum essentials for 3 weeks. You can't live on pizza for ever no matter how much you like it. BESIDES EVERYTHING ELSE, THIS ONE IS TOO PERSONAL TO LET GO as I WAS CHEATED AND LED TO SIGN A CONTRACT THAT I WAS REMINDED OF EVERY SINGLE MINUTE AFTER SIGNING. NOT WORTH IT. BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy will chase you by making calls after calls. Extremely courteous. AFTER placing the order - The same guy will avoid you as if YOU HAVE SWINE FLU.He will STOP TAKING YOUR CALLS OR RESPONDING TO YOUR EMAILS. The THUGS that show up on the door are so rude, they were not just RUDE with me but also with my neighbors at the new place where I have moved. Not sure what my new neighbors think of me. read more

WARNING! Do NOT use EZ Movers. We used them once before and had no problem. Went back to them a second time and were scammed and stolen from. 1. They double the estimate AFTER they had already packed everything in their truck and there was nothing we could do. Basically holding our stuff for hostage. Management refused our calls when we immediately contacted the main office to dispute the charges. Please note: we had just used them a couple of months prior and had exactly the same amount of furniture and items to move. What had changed was how much they were charging us in extra fees, padding their travel time excessively etc... (They had initially quoted us free travel time, otherwise we would have gone with a local company.) 2. We had a two part move, so had to send things to storage. They quoted us free storage, yet charged us double when it came bill time. 3. They arrived two hours late at our final destination, claiming they were lost. The CHARGED us for those two missing hours and DEMANDED CASH upfront before they would haul our belongings into the house. They refused credit card payment, knowing we could dispute the bill. This amounts to extortion. 4. We had several items broken, computer stolen, tools stolen, bike stolen- they refused to answer our phone calls. After several letters and legal claim forms sent, they offered us $45 compensation with no apology or acknowledgement of the distress they had caused us through the whole ordeal. We had purchased the additional insurance recommended, but because EZ Movers would not cooperate with the claim, we could not file with the other insurance company. EZ Movers made a comment on a post below that their $0.30/lb disclaimer is on the contract and so we should know that going in. However, this "disclaimer" and their attitude towards clients who are stolen from is basically giving their employees permission to steal anything they'd like. There is absolutely no accountability. 5. We ended up paying more than twice the original estimate: charging us for travel time (which was quoted in writing as FREE), charging us for storage (which was quoted in writing as FREE) charging us for two hours they were "lost", charging us for surchares/additional fees/materials we didn't use etc... Through the entire move, we repeatedly called to speak to the person who initially quoted us and tried to speak to someone in management. We NEVER got through to anyone- instead being bounced around from voicemail to voicemail, or put on hold indefinitely. This was the most shocking experience we have ever encountered from any company. I cannot believe they are still in business. We have filed with the Better Business Bureau and successfully disputed against them with our credit card for partial refund of the initial payment. Unfortunately, there is little that law enforcement can do in these situations we found and no real course of action other than dragging the mess through court. So. Here we are YELP! As an end note- Our experience with them was night/day between the first and second move that we used them for. Reviewers with higher ratings perhaps had an okay experience, but may not get so lucky if they choose to use them again. A test of a company's true integrity comes when things may have gone wrong, and how they choose to respond. As is clearly evident from the majority of ratings here- EZ Movers fails to meet basic professional standards. read more

NO STARS! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! PLEASE BEWARE! The worst move ever! I don't even know where to begin. I moved from Missouri to Georgia. The window for pick-up was 1-3 business days, the driver called four hours before he pulled up on the third day and said he was on the way (so much for a 24 hour notice "as promised"). Then I was SUPPOSE to receive my belongings in 7-10 business days, well, I got them 14 days LATER. Yep, 4 additional days. Then guess what? The guy pulls up with the truck (Naji, he was great by the way, he just works for a HORRIBLE company) and he says well if the side of my truck is more than 75 feet I'll have to charge you extra, I wondered to myself "How would he determine that?" Well I'll be damned if he didn't pull out a long ass ruler and measured it at 85 feet from my front door to the truck. Well, that EXTRA costed me $750.00 for TEN FEET, after I called the company and raised hell they took off $250.00. Still unacceptable. I'm not cheap BUT I had already paid $484.00 down payment, $1,095.00 when he picked up my belongings in Missouri, then $1,415.00 when he brought my things to Georgia and I REPEAT he asked for an additional $750.00 OR all of my stuff goes back to storage. No question. I wouldn't hire this poor excuse for a company to move my damn dog house 2 feet. Nick (the guy who picked up the furniture) came in a small budget truck after KNOWING what was on my list, that damn Maryam at the office is just a LIAR, I told her what I had, her job is to help rip off customers. This could be racial, aimed at blacks and non-whites with the pricing. They say one thing on the phone then when they get there, everything is extra. They even charged $160.00 for bubble wrap, that of which I DID NOT need because I packed everything and BUBBLE WRAPPED it. The furniture was still nicked after their "padding".The guy that answered the phone about the extra feet was rude as hell. I'm going to report this company to the BBB. This business will shut down because it's horrible and shady. YOU CANNOT PROSPER ripping off customers. I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Less is not more, hell, I was better off using Two Men and a Truck, at least they don't squeeze the life out of your pockets. I know the spring/summer is coming up and people want to move but PLEASE people avoid this ruthless ass good for nothing company. Do your research, shop around! A neighbor was moving in as well and she told me, all of her furniture was fairly BANGED up and damn near ruined. We coincidentally moved in the same complex with the same lousy ass company, the same day and she complained as well. They may be getting business now but it's going to shut down eventually because what goes around comes around. I'm just not sure how they are in business. You reap what you sow. STAY AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN! PEOPLE ARE NOT LYING ON THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE! read more

Please take our advice and DO NOT use E-Z Movers. E-Z Movers had the lowest quote we received on our move from MN to NC. However, when they arrived the low quote was completely negated when we were charged SIGNIFICANTLY MORE for "long carry" charges. These "long carry charges" were the fault of the driver because he did not pull up close enough to the building when a car that was parked near our front door pulled away 30 minutes into the move. These charges were significant and the total overall cost of the move was nearly double our original quote as a result. The head mover we worked with was a jerk and very unpleasant to work with. He told us he was originally from Bulgaria and inadvertently shared that he makes $200,000 a year, which explains the extra fees that we assume go directly to him. The movers spent four hours loading our items and the truck was left running the entire time -- a fuel cost that I'm sure was passed on to us as the customers. When we signed the contract we were told it would take 7-14 days for our items to arrive in NC, however once in our new location we were told it was 7-14 BUSINESS DAYS. Also, we were told we would get 24 hours advance notice when our shipment was to arrive, but we only received a few hours notice. It was never explained that the remaining balance would need to be paid IN CASH. There was damage to a significant number of items, which E-Z Movers refused to pay for because without our knowledge the mover had identified nearly all our furniture items as "SC" when loading, a designation we did not notice when signing the papers. The "SC" stood for "scratched," indicating that these items were damaged prior to moving. However we had recently purchased most of our furniture items and many were brand new. They have never mentioned to us what the SC stands for and just gave us the papers and said: "ok, sign here". You could argue that we agreed and signed without reading the fine print, but who would read them in such hectic moments. The mover identified our items as "scratched" in order to protect the company should our items get damaged, which they did. We had rips in our new leather couch, scratches on a new dining room chair, and a scratch on a new leather bench. They were completely DISHONEST and UNETHICAL and that's how they make their money. We called an arbitration company to discuss filing a complaint, and when we mentioned the name "E-Z Movers" the person on the other line let out an audible sigh, as indication that we were not the first people to taken by this company. According to our research, E-Z Movers has changed their name at least once in their history, and we will be watching to see if they do so again. We should have listened to other reviewers who had complaints, but we took a risk and have been paying for it ever since. read more

Do NOT use this company!!! They are criminals and do not care about their customers. The company's way of quoting is completely a load of bull. I was quoted $1132 but then as soon as the movers got there the driver was like we are going to have to charge you more. It went from $1132 to $2209. I was charged $300 for a long carry pickup (which is NOT in the contract they send you). Basically they are stating that they had to walk more than 75 from the door of my storage unit to the back of truck which was the biggest load of crap. The driver then pulls me aside and says if you don't give me a $100 cash I am going to charge you $435 more than what I told you. I was all alone except for my son at a storage unit so no one was around so I was scared so I gave him the $100. He said I couldn't tell head quarters or his partner. My son witnessed everything as well as I had my sister on the phone that heard the entire conversation but the driver didn't know she could hear him. They already had loaded all of my items in the truck and I was scared to not give him the $100. I called Maryam at home office immediately after this but she was gone so I had to call back the next day. When I spoke to her about the incident she said she would have to call me back and talk to her boss first. So I get this paperwork to fill out for a claim and that all correspondence from them on out had to be in writing. So after a week of waiting I called only to have her transfer me to her boss that was probably the rudest man I have ever in my life spoken to and I am also 50 so that is saying a lot. He basically told me that if one of his drivers did rip me off that it wasn't hurting me only him. He would speak to that drivers supervisor and let him decide what he wanted to do about the driver. So I said you are telling me that is doesn't bother you that you have a driver threatening customers and that it is costing you business but you haven't even fired him over this situation. He said lady you don't even matter to me. I was never so applaud in my life. I also spoke to him about this long carry pickup of $300. He said that the driver sent him pictures of the distance from the truck to my storage unit and it was more than 185 feet. I said you can tell that by looking at a picture and he said yes. I said can you please send me those pictures because I was standing there the entire time with the driver and he never took any pictures. He said no I won't send you the pictures which tells me that he was lying and had no pictures. So it must be a requirement to be a criminal to work for this company! It is just very plain and simple DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are HORRIBLE!!! read more

REPOSTING THIS REVIEW ON THIS PAGE - LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE MULTIPLE PAGES FOR THE SAME COMPANY. I very rarely write reviews, and generally give companies the benefit of the doubt to right their wrongs. However this experience was (and continues to be) so terrible I feel the need to warn as many people as I can against using their service. This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company (I have moved many times for work, living in all continental U.S. timezones). I hired them in November 2017 to move a studio worth of furniture from San Francisco, CA to Denver, CO. Not only did 3 of the items show up irreparably damaged, but 3 additional items (listed on the inventory) were missing altogether. The company locally outsources it's movers, and while the freelance guys who packed up and delivered my stuff were nice, they were clueless and unprofessional. When the delivery driver acknowledged that things were missing, he told me flat out I would have a hard time getting the missing items delivered or compensated for. He said "oh they (the company) are going to hate you. They hate anyone that has their **** together." Great...so this company would prey on someone who may not have noticed one box wasn't delivered?! In my case it wasn't just one box: it was a bookcase, a coffee table, and my TV. Ridiculous. My sales person's name was Maryam, and she became non-responsive when I began to start following up on my issues...which I have had to do every week for the past month and a half and still am nowhere with regards to being reimbursed for damaged items or more frustratingly in regards to my missing items. I filed a BBB complaint and this was the company's response: "Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay in delivering the remainder of your shipment. 2 of the 3 undelivered items have been recovered, and we should have answer on the 3rd item within a week or so. Once the 3rd item has been confirmed to be in our possession, we will schedule delivery. In the unfortunate case that the 3rd item is not recovered, we will schedule delivery for the 2 items we have and will make a monetary compensation offer on the third item, along with the claimed damaged items. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this matter." Terrible customer service. Terrible follow through. If this isn't enough to deter you from working with EZ Movers, I don't know what would be. At this point I would rather have trucked my stuff across the country on foot than deal with this pathetic excuse for a customer focused moving company. read more

For those of you considering using EZmovers, I have one word...don't. We hired them to move a few pieces of furniture from Kansas to Washington state for my son who is in the army there. After being told the cost, time frame, etc, very little went as planned or promised. The furniture was picked up on March 30. On April 12th we received an email stating our furniture was on a truck and on its way. They included the driver's name and phone number encouraging my son to call for updates. The following week my son called the driver and left three messages for him to call. He never did. I called Greg Jones, our representative. He apologized and said someone would call me that day. No one did. I had to call again and was assured someone would call my son and no one did. The next time I called Greg Jones, it was a Friday afternoon and I was told he had left for the day but would be in on Sunday. I called on Sunday and they were closed. Things got worse. By Friday, April 24th I was called to say the driver would deliver either Saturday or Sunday, April 25 or 26. The driver called my son and said he would deliver on Monday, April 27th. He said my son owed $200 more than the paperwork stated. I called Greg Jones and could not reach him. Of course he did not call back. I was assured that my son would not have to pay the extra $200. On Monday the driver's truck broke down so delivery was pushed to Tuesday. On Tuesday my son had to be at work. The furniture was delivered with my son's wife at home to receive it. She is Brazilian and speaks broken English. The headboard to their bed was missing, the glass top to the desk was broken and an oak desk chair which had been in my family for at least 60 years was broken. They did not attach the mirror to the dresser and the driver was rude. I called Greg Jones four times over two days before I got him on the phone. He never called me back like I requested. He knew I was upset so he proceeded to be sarcastic with me, would not listen to me and yelled at me. He quickly put me on hold for several minutes before a manager got on the phone. I did not get much further with him. He said he would email me a claim form. He did not. My husband called the next day and was told the same. After reading other reviews, I realize what a lying, scalliwag company this is. We will file a claim if we get the form. I am so disappointed and frustrated. They don't care about customer service, just getting paid. Don't ever use this moving company. We will be filing a complaint with the state of Illinois. read more

I would describe my moving experience as nothing short of miserable. When the movers first arrived at my home they told me they couldn't fit their 18-wheeler down my street so I was going to have to pay $500+ to have a smaller truck brought. Whatever, to some extent I understood even though the pricing was extreme. When the movers packed my things, they left 20-30 empty roll of tape laying around my house, on my porch, and in the road. After cleaning up after them, I was just happy to have my stuff headed to my new destination. They provided me with the 10-day window of delivery. Shocking news, I received an email that my shipment was going to be late. So, 14 days later I finally get a call that my stuff was going to be delivered. I meet the movers at the storage unit where I was going to keep my stuff. They break out a measuring tape and measure every single inch of how far the storage unit is from the back of the truck. I'm told I'll have to pay ~$400 extra for them to move my stuff into my storage unit because it's too far from the back of the truck. At this point I wasn't willing to give this company another penny so I told them to take my things as far as they could and I would move them from that point into my storage unit (literally around the corner and about 10 steps away but they wouldn't assist). They brought my stuff as far as they could, and just sat it there. Didn't bother to take all of their tape (EXCESSIVE amounts of tape) and padding/saran wrap off of my items. So there I am, a single 110-lb 25 year old girl, by myself, with my keys trying to rip this tape and packing off of my items so I can break my back attempting to move everything into my storage unit. To make everything better, when unpacking my items I was finding a lot of damages. My $250 dog feeding cabinet was completely falling apart to the point where screws were all over the place and it was like about 10 pieces. Plastic containers clearly marked with "FRAGILE" had cracked lids to the point that they were falling off of the boxes (I haven't yet gained the courage to look at the items inside the boxes). One of my dining room chairs ($150) was broken. While I was in the middle of sweating my a$$ off moving my things, the mover stopped me in the middle of moving something to get me to sign the papers so they could leave. I honestly have nothing good to say about my moving experience with E-Z Movers and would warn others to look into ANY other option, even if it costs more. Wish me luck on submitting all of my claims!!!!! read more

Ehmil must be getting tired of having to respond to all these negative complaints. You know it would be a lot easier if you just ran your company correctly in the first place. You could avoid the countless negative reviews that you receive. So where do I start? This company has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Any one I've talked to on the phone has been short with me and condescending. Ehmil, the Professional Yelp Responder for this company (because it's a full time job apparently), is very pompous in his responses, insinuating in his feedback that you are making up your claim of a lost or broken item (I had both). Just read all the reviews and see for yourself. So here's the biggest fault with the move. THEY LOST MY COUCH. And now they claim they never took it, so they won't refund me. Funny thing is, the couch is listed on the itemized estimate AND on the post-inventory lists signed by the mover who picked up my couch. I have photos of both lists with the couch listed. I will email it to you if you'd like to see for yourself (couprim@gmail.com). They also broke my $100 floor lamp. They admitted to breaking it, then offered me $12 for it. I have a picture of the letter that says this. I will email it to you along with photos of the broken lamp (couprim@gmail.com). Also, as if that wasn't enough, they sent NON-EZ Movers employees to do the move. I have both the driver and mover telling me ON VIDEO that they do not work for EZ Movers. They say on the video that the actual driver got sick, so he asked them to do it. These guys did not have EZ Movers clothing or even an EZ Movers truck. They were subcontracted to do the move because the actual mover got sick. However, the replacements were not even certified movers. They were just some random guys. Also, the driver did not help with the move, so there was only 1 guy to move my entire apartment. It took over 6 hours and I had to help the whole time because the 1 guy couldn't do it all by himself, especially not the big furniture. So you can see why I will now be getting a lawyer. Please email me at couprim@gmail.com and I will send you all of the photos and videos mentioned in this post. You will see the evidence for yourself. I'm also posting these photos and videos on facebook. And I encourage you to do the same. Spread the word. Let people know that EZ Movers is a scam and they should never be trusted. Have fun with that one, Ehmil.

BECAUSE THEY HAVE YOUR DEPOSIT (READ BALLS) AND EVERYTIME THERE IS A THREAT - "IF YOU ARE NOT THERE, I GO BACK....YOU LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT OR YOU PAY 500 DOLLARS EXTRA IN CASE ITS DELIVERY" BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy will chase you by making calls after calls. Not sure what my new neighbors think of me. read more

My experience with booking with E- Z movers came a long way. If you have a moment to take please read this review because I was witness to it and now understand it. I contacted E-Z movers a few months back and my job was just recently completed. 1.I was first given a call and was told to fill out an inventory. I sent that in after talking to my rep. she wanted to go over it again because it was a long distance move. I didn't see the point but said no thats ok. I moved onto the next moving company. After going around and around with other companies she called again to follow up and see how things were going with my moving arrangements. I listened to what she said and man was i happy that i did. 2. Stacy explained to me about how you have to try to be very detailed as possible with the long distance moves so that there is no surprise charges at the pick up. And we went over this list for weeks. We got it together and she was in contact with me the whole time. Whenever I needed something she was there. 3.E-Z movers has a great staff when you need to check on something they all are willing to help out. I feel everyone is upset about the fact that you forgot to tell the Rep everything that you have. Take the time to work with the Rep tell them what you want and let them work with you. I did have to learn to be a little flexible not realizing that a semi isnt going to get to me in a day or two it takes some time. The movers called the day before they called when they were delivering my items and they also were just great guys to work with. It was a great experience for me to learn and I felt comfortable with my Rep and she told it like it was not like every other company i know telling me what i wanted to hear. Great Staff, great workers, great movers!!!! So thank you E-Z Movers I will use you again in a few months to move my sister and mom out to me. Thank you again so much. read more

DO NOT USE THIS E-Z MOVERS. THEY ARE THE WORST MOVERS. They will give you one quote and when they get to your house, they will tell you they have another charge. They charge you for loading, taking the furniture out of your house to the truck, the driving and also for taking the furniture off the truck and brining it into your new place. Oh yea, they measure the distance from your door to the Semi. If it is pass 70 feet, they charge you a LONG DISTANCE CARRY FEE OF $350. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. They will say that the service is in the quote but it is not. They charge you to shrink wrap and bubble wrap the furniture and appliances. Even though you already did it. Most of the drivers do not speak English. Its like a Russian Mob. Then, they dont bring your furniture on time. They give you excuses. Stick to the American Movers. FOR GODS SAKE...DO NOT USE EASY MOVERS. 06/06/2013: Ok, got a message from someone name Ehmil. Wow, Got nerve to say I only had a quote. My stuff came broken, destroyed and missing. APPROXIMATELY $1,200 IN DAMAGES. PEOPLE, FOR GODS SAKE...DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND NOT USE THIS COMPANY... WITH THE DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE TO OUR FURNITURE, THE DRIVER HAD THE NERVE TO ASK TO USE OUR REST ROOM... HELL TO THE NO!!!!! AGAIN, JUST PURE B.S. AND EXCUSES. MY ADVICE...DO THE MOVE YOURSELF AND SAVE THE HASSLE. They don't even deserve a Star. This place is crap. I will definitely let my Military Superiors know about this. 06/18/2013: now they told my spouse that our box is lost for good and they will not repair or replace the damge furniture. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE; STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE OF POOP. THE PEOPLE ARE LOWER THAN WHALE CRAP AND THATS PROBABLY AS LOW AS YOU CAN GO. AND THATS PUTTING IT LIGHTLY. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I read Michael's review of EZ Movers, and i've got to say that my experience with them was utterly different from his. When the drivers arrived (on time), they got to work immediately. Although one of them was not American-born, they both spoke excellent English and we had no trouble understanding one another. (One kind of funny thing about that... i think that the guy who wrote my inventory was Russian-born, and on one of the inventory lines he wrote "Miks". This created some confusion on the other end when that item # didn't come in at first. When they found it on the truck, it turned out to be several items bundled together... a "mix".) They loaded the truck very quickly, joking and talking with me the whole time. They loaded me up on May 13th, and the driver told me that i had to put June 14th as the earliest possible delivery date. I told him that i wouldn't have the money to pay for the delivery (which was dead on to what they quoted me, by the way) until the fifteenth at the earliest. He said no problem, it wouldn't leave Chicago until the 14th, then it had to travel all the way to New Haven, CT. Because of this, it came as kind of a shock when i received an e-mail from them on the 11th stating that my stuff had left Chicago that day, and it wound up arriving on the 14th. So, although i had to borrow money to pay for the remainder of my move, which i wasn't happy about, they unloaded it quickly and carefully, having me check off each item on the inventory as they came in. All in all, i am very pleased with my experience and would recommend them to anyone. It also says in their paperwork that gratuities are suggested for their drivers, which frankly never occurred to me, so i didn't budget it. I will say, though, if you use them, budget a tip. They work hard and they deserve it. Randal read more

I should have checked yelp before booking EZ Movers. My husband did, but only after I signed a contract and he didn't want to say anything to me about these awful reviews to further stress me out with the move. I too was referred to them by a friend that had a mediocre experience with them a few years back. I made sure to ask all the necessary questions and asked several times if the quote was accurate and if any other charges would be incurred. I was told repeatedly that my quote was accurate and that tape, just tape, would be additional. The itemized list I submitted to the company with what we needed to be moved was extremely accurate, down to moving the ironing board. The day before the move they called and said they we're overbooked and asked if they could come later in the afternoon rather than 9am. I booked them several weeks prior and setup to have my loading dock available. I told them no so they asked to come a 8am. I agreed. But then they showed up at 9:30am. Not a big deal, but things got worse. The movers started reviewing my apartment, pacing back and forth with their calculator. The price they gave me was 3 X'S WHAT I WAS CHARGED OVER THE PHONE! I felt like I had been scammed! It was apparent to me that this company backs you into a corner knowing that all of your stuff is packed and ready to go. It's not like you can tell them to leave and find someone else to move you the same day. Needless to say my husband and I were livid. Luckily the movers were nice and we were able to negotiate leaving some of the more valuable and fragile items behind for my husband and I to move, which drastically brought the quote down to where it originally was. Beware! I would not recommend this company to anyone! Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this company's BS. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company. DO not use. Do not use. Do not use. I have been going back and forth with this awful company for 26 days now. They damaged my leather couches during my move earlier this month and are refusing to pay for them. But instead of just saying that from teh beginning they've wasted hours of my time running in circles around me. Enough is enough. I've filed a BBB claim but want others to know that there are plenty of other moving companies out there that act in good faith - THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. For our own sanity, do not go with this company. They've insulted me, wasted my time and are now telling me their "Taking back their offer" to fix damage that THEY HAVE CAUSED. Disgusting. Email from Kelly Reed at EZ Movers who i've had more than 54 email exchanges with and at least three phone conversations and she still has done NOTHING to resolve my claim. Why are you wasting my time, Kelly? ANd now are threatning me? PLease note that the damage they ahve cuased is $1,200. THey are offering me $12.l Ms. Depaola, I went above and beyond for you and got a huge repair amount approved. According to our contract, we owe you $12.00 and that is our offer to you at this point. Since nothing we do is acceptable, we are going back to our original offer. I attached the original conclusion that was offered by Natalia in our claims department here. I am sorry to that you feel the way you do and if you would like to dispute this, please find AMSA's information below: AMSA1611 Duke St., Alexandria, VA 22314-3482http://www.promover.org/content.asp?contentid=982 read more

DO NOT SHIP WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! I shipped items for a long distance move back in June and I have had several problems already including the fact that my furniture has yet to arrive. 1) when booking the move, I asked several of the employees approximately how long from the earliest delivery date are items usually delivered. I selected my earliest delivery date based on the information I received (I was moving from Illinois to California but was going to in New York for one week in between), expecting to receive my items no more than a week from the earliest delivery date especially considering that I was shipping a small amount of items and that there was about a 1 week gap between the pickup date and the earliest delivery date. My items did not leave Chicago until nearly a month later. 2) when the movers came to pick up my items, the inventory list they had did not match the one I submitted and received confirmation on (items were missing from their inventory list). I also had less items than I initially booked for. However, I was still charged an additional $300 for items that should have already been included and despite me having fewer items than initially planned or else they would not take my items. 3) My items have finally shipped, over a month after they were picked up, and the driver is now telling me the earliest my items will be delivered is Friday July 27th. Based on the 15 business day guarantee, my items will be very late and based on the information I initially received, my items are several weeks late. read more

I really thankful that one of my friends recommended me E-Z Movers for my local move to Chicago. E-Z Movers did an exceptional job even though some of the circumstances were not helping. For example, the movers could not park their truck because of the parking regulations in the neighborhood I moved to. Also, it was a rainy day. So in addition to what movers usually need to take care of, my movers needed to make sure that my stuff did not get wet. I should say that they did a really good job! You should see how carefully and professionally they packed furniture, glass, and other items! At first, I was going to pack my stuff by myself. But the movers said that the chances that some of the items might get damaged are pretty high. So I decided to listen to their advice and get my stuff packed professionally. It was a smart decision since everything was delivered in a perfect condition. I should also say that sales and customer service representatives are really nice at E-Z Movers. I called them up a couple of times to specify some details regarding my move, and they returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. I appreciate the fact that they asked about my requirements first, and only then tried to sell me services that would fit my requirements best. I would definitely recommend E-Z Movers to people looking for reliable movers for local moves. You will like the quality of their services as well as rates. By the way, the estimate they gave me was pretty close to the price I actually paid. read more

So not only did I have a horrible experience with EZ Movers, one of my friends did as well. I normally never post reviews on Yelp (in fact this is my first one), but I felt that this was necessary after my experience. So, first off they didn't send enough movers for my move. Only 1 guy showed up and it took him 5 hours to move a small apartment. Next, upon delivery I noticed my flat screen TV was cracked. I couldn't believe it. It was a brand new Samsung, and after weeks of filling out paper work and complaining, they only offered me $35 for it - which is a number based on the WEIGHT of the item (as if the weight of a TV quantifies the actual value of it). Besides that, the customer service was rude and short with me. They took a long time to respond, and I never felt that they were taking me seriously or addressing my issues in a timely manner. Finally, and this is by far the worst, they lost my $900 recliner. Yep, they are claiming they don't have it and never took it. And they are not reimbursing me for it. I was shocked and appalled that they would just claim I was making this story up. The item is listed on the inventory, but it was listed as a "Chair" instead of a recliner, so they are only willing to reimburse me for a standard kitchen table chair which costs about $30 in their estimate. Unbelievable. I'm beyond frustrated. NEVER use this company. read more
