This has been the worst experience of my life using this company I am 62 years old and I have never seen a company like this I have been ripped off my things have been broke in some things were not even taken I had to go back the next day and get them myself this is a company from Hell they work for the Devil I got ripped off and I'm sharing my experience so you won't get ripped all no matter how desperate you are to not use this company they are Thugs and Crooks They should not be in business I did not read the reviews beforehand I was in a hurry it cost me money What should have been a happy time turned into a very hectic terrible time They are cold blooded I would not wish them on my enemy they are from the devil run run run do not walk To get away from them

We used this company twice for two local moves in chicago without an issue. When we used them for a long distance move to Michigan, we had a terrible experience. Aside from terrible customer service, poor communication and lazy contracted movers, they created $1,500 worth of damage and offered us $147. What a joke. Stay away!

Terrible company that others should avoid. Their services may come at a cheaper rate, but there's a good reason why their prices are low. Your furniture will be torn/scratched/soiled and your boxes will be damaged. You will not be reimbursed for damages. They tell you that price estimates are based per item and sq footage and that they will readjust the actual price based on inventory the day of pickup. They will try to up sell you on the phone since they say there will be an extra premium on day if pickup if the actual inventory exceeds the estimate. Even if you email them or call them about changes they will tell you to wait until day of pickup. In reality on the day of pickup they will not adjust anything. Their customer service representatives consistently lie, never respond by email or are difficult to reach by phone (Maryam, Brian). They will give you a 72hr window for pickup and 7-10 day window for drop off. When you call them to ask them about pickup or delivery date they never know the answer. When the drivers show up it's a hit or miss. We had a disgruntled driver (Miles) show up who made it very apparent he didn't care about anything. He told us that it wasn't his job to do any quote readjustments or inventory. Him and his partner struggled moving the bed boxspring and were jamming it down the staircase and nearly knocked off the ceiling light fixtures before I had to intervene and pull the bulbs and glass off of the fixtures. I'm sure this is when they ripped the boxspring fabric. They then stood there bickering with each other because one jammed and cut the other one's hand. Then they had the guts to ask for a tip. Customer service was not available at that time and there was nobody to call. Furniture came damaged. Boxes came looking manhandled.

DO NO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY I had a long distance move schedule for pick up on 7/28... was not told prior to reservation that there is a 10 day spread for delivery... didn't find this out until signing paperwork. at this point it was too late to find someone else. the foreman DID NOT provide me with a "delivery request form" which is required to make delivery. I had no idea this was necessary...here it is 8/8 and I still don't have anything and have no updates on when my things will be delivered. Brian and Steven are superior ingrates and did nothing to help the situation. I emailed Brian on 8/6 and NEVER received a response. He blatantly hung up in my face and refused to give me a delivery date. They also charge you obscene amounts for tape and packaging. pack EVERYTHING you have BEFORE they come to pick up anything. I would NEVER recommend this company. you're better off renting a uhaul and getting friends to help you move. at least that way you won't be stuck half way across the country without your entire apartment. I will definitely be contacting the Better Business Bureau. this company is a complete joke! ***be sure to read the filtered reviews... there you'll see all the negative reviews. wonder why they're filtered.... ****update: delivery day after waiting 16 DAYS for my delivery... it finally comes everything SEEMED to be in order... one thing to note... you must pay by cash, money order, or cashier's check PRIOR to the unloading of any of your goods they unloaded everything and before I could even inspect the truck and ensure everything was loaded into my storage unit, the lead guy kept haggling me about a tip! they loaded my storage unit very messily and I ended up unloading and reloading my unit and ended up with much more space left over but now....I've discovered my camera is missing... smh I don't want anything else to do with this sorry company. any other correspondence will be through the BBB and my credit card company.

Stay clear away from this company , they will quote you one price ,,,,,and when the drivers come to your house they increased the price had my furniture in storage EZ Movers , well let's just say the way that they packed it up was not the way that it was delivered my China cabinet was scratched and nicks ....the glass for my cocktail table was missing and my buffet table had mold growing on it from water damage. extremely poor customer service and to put insult to injury they scratched up my newly varnish wooden floors I wouldn't recommend EZ movers to my worst enemy Photos attached

I would like to start out by saying I rarely write reviews. I do not believe in bad mouthing anyone unless their actions are grossly negligent, disgusting, and disrespectful to the customer. I hired EZ because their pricing was very competitive and they were able to accommodate my move date and time. On the morning of they showed up to our first of three locations. The transaction started off friendly, and I was happy. About an hour into the move one of the movers grabbed a 5x7 rug which was rolled and wrapped in a plastic bag through it over his shoulder and on the way out the door uncaringly hit a multi-tier shelving unit. This shelving unit housed antiques and sculptures. Several items fell crashing to the floor, two of which were antique Chinese plates that my grandmother bought in the 60's at the Miami trade show. These plates were over 100 years old and now shattered. The plates were displayed on two thick glass blocks, and as they hit the floor, the plates and stands damaged the floors. My mother was in tears about the plates and the negligence of the movers. The movers and I documented the incident, and we had no choice but to continue. The driver came to me about 45 min later saying they were done, and their dispatch is requiring full payment before leaving the first location.(keep in mind we had two other stops) In business people/business get paid AFTER the job is done not before or during. You wouldn't pay a plumber before he finished the work would you? Anyways I refused and it took an hour to get a manager on the phone, we spoke for all of 60 seconds (if that). "if you don't pay they are not leaving" the manager said, I said; "Ok tell them to unload the truck and please leave" They were afraid because of the damaged caused by their movers I wouldn't pay. The move was on a Sunday, and their office wasn't open, so we had to wait until Monday to file a report. I called once a day for three days and never got a call back (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). Finally, a gentleman answered on Wednesday, and boy was he rude!!! The gentleman was screaming and yelling, telling me I was a piece of this and that... I didn't give them a chance reach out etc.. I finally submitted the report and called back once a week to check the progress from EZ end. Each week I would hear; "we are still working on it and will have an answer next week." After week three we explained there was no reason this should take so long, and we felt they were dodging us and not going to live up to their responsibility. I explained our attorney would be handling things going forward and I am sorry it came to this... OH BOY did the owner, not like this response; I called back to ask for their attorney info, and he answered. In that thick Israeli(I am israeli and my sister is in the IDF) accent started screaming and calling me names. This was three weeks ago and now they have decided to tell my attorney we should sue them instead of making good and fixing the problem. Is this someone you really want to do business with? I have pictures and if there was a way for me to post them for you to see the horrible damage they created I would! I urge you think twice before getting into bed with EZ Movers.

One of the worst experience with EZMOVERS in chicago.... 1. Very rude and unprofessional pick up/ dropped off guys... 2. Brian - tops the list of unprofessionals above who himself is a manager 3. They charged me extra $400 (yes..! You heard it right) just because of the following reasons - - firstly, they said, movers truck can't fit into my parking lot hence they had to charge extra $400 just because it's more than 75 feet (but less than 90 feet) - After a brief argument with great manager brian... because of his rudeness I had to give up myself on him and agreed to pay $400 - I sent him these photos showing him that.. truck can fit easily without any issues... - Brian calls this tine saying... truck could fit but they cannot park out since it's blocking someone else's exit.. which was again another big lie... - I gave up by this time just focusing more on my movement.. Never ever take these guys... better for you.

This is the first time I have ever used movers and it will be the last. At first my interactions with EZ Movers were good, Daniel Zaia worked with me, he was quick to reply to my questions, gave me estimates and told me how I could reduce my costs. I had to be scheduled for what Daniel called an overnight in/overnight out move because I had to be out of my old apartment on the 30th and couldn't get in to my new place until the 1st. Daniel explained to me that I'd pay one time once the move was over for the full time of my move and that this type of move would save me money because my things wouldn't be removed from the truck during the night (which movees get charged for). Come move out day: my movers themselves were rockstars, got my stuff padded and loaded within an hour, confirmed my job was an overnight in/overnight out and my things would not be unloaded from the truck that evening. THEN the discrepancies started. I had to pay that night for two hours of service when it only took one hour, and I was under the impression given to me by Daniel that I would not be paying until the next morning after my job was complete. I had to pay $69.50 for the travel fees, which had previously been quoted to me as only being $50. The next morning the movers were to be at my new residence by no later than 8:30 am, but were late by almost 20 minutes and then it took them until 9 AM to get going on unloading my things. The mover in charge of having me sign paperwork told me that my start time on my job was 7:30 AM because they'd had to unload my belongings and reload them onto another truck, the exact thing I was told WOULD NOT happen. I had to pay for 2 hours of work up front before they would unload my things from their truck. The guys downstairs unloading had the least sense of urgency ever until I went downstairs and starting unloading my things off the truck myself and told them they'd better hurry up because they were off the clock at 9:30 AM (the end of the two hours I'd had to pay for). Everything was unloaded into the hall of my apartment building and then my friends and I had to finish moving everything into my aparment. I hadn't even gotten a full 45 minutes of work out of these guys but had to pay for two hours that morning. When I called on Monday morning to file my complaint, I was told by a James that he agreed with me, I had been charged incorrectly but that complaints were not handled over the phone, only by e-mail and a complaint form. As of now, I have filled out and faxed my form four times, to which the reply from their customer relations woman, Sundae Robinson is "Sorry, I didn't receive all the pages of you fax" despite the fact that I have three fax confirmations stating that all pages were sent successfully. After being overcharged by over $250 and blown off and lied to left and right, I am not pleased at all with EZ Movers and would highly recommend to anyone needing movers to NOT use this company. read more

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS--THEY ARE CARELESS AND IRRESPONSIBLE. I actually don't think they deserve one star--more like no stars. I wish I had looked on yelp before using them. I have moved a lot in my life, including two international moves. Never have I EVER had a problem like this. I only had one precious item with the entire move--my grandmothers antique dressing table. Their movers were extremely careless when packing it up--they actually left one wheel out of eight on the table. I didn't notice as he wrapped the entire thing up. Imagine if a table has one leg much longer (due to a wheel left on). The table chipped and came apart at the side. When the movers unpacked it in my apartment, a chip of wood fell right out of the packaging. When I submitted a claim for this, E-Z Movers had the gall to say that my table was PRE-DAMAGED. I have pictures of the table with the one wheel, as well as of the chip and everything. This table was in perfect condition before the move. In addition to the table breaking, the mirror was also shattered. This is an antique mirror, which is a particular shape. I would need to get a glass company to cut a mirror to fit it. I've had the work quoted to me at $600. E-Z movers has offered $18. Can you imagine? $18? I can't even buy a non-antique square mirror at Walmart for $18. And they think an antique specially cut mirror will cost that? In addition I had people from their company offering me all sorts of bribes to lower the prices. So incredibly shady. I am now working with arbitration--fingers crossed this awful company will eventually pay up. read more

If I could give a negative review I would. This is the worst company ever. We did a cross country move from Michigan to Nevada and the truck that had everything I own caught fire. These were the most inconsiderate people ever. Settling our claim to forever and they only paid us a small fraction of what our stuff was worth. The staff and owners were very rude throughout the process. read more

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS!! The customer relations department is abysmal and they don't follow their own contracts. I was never told when my stuff would be delivered and had to call over a dozen times to figure out where my stuff was, and got the run around from multiple people and across multiple days. A week after my possessions were picked up, I still don't have them, and wont be getting them for another 2-4 days. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, STAY AWAY FROM THEM. The customer service representative and manager started refusing my phone calls and told me that they couldn't guarantee a refund portion of my bill. I wouldn't refer this company to my worst enemy. read more

This is the worst moving company I have ever used by a long shot. I have never in my life dealt with someone as aggressive and unprofessional as George, who was the foreman of the move. My estimate ended up going 2 1/2 hours OVER what I was told and then a payment was demanded before they unloaded my stuff. George "guessed" it would take 45 minutes and said if it was less time I would still get charged. On the phone they seemed to take pride in the fact they don't round up per hour, but instead charge extra in 15 minute increments. Clearly wasn't the case! Nothing added up or made sense. I had TWO damaged pieces, and only in total had 16 things that were moved. Keep in mind these things were a few kitchen chairs, a small kitchen table, coffee table, love seats etc. NOTHING was complex or difficult for them to move. They purposely underestimate how long it will take and then slap you with a giant bill mid-move. The customer service when dealing with a complaint of a man screaming in my face (witnessed by other mover) is pathetic. I wanted him to explain to me where these "extra" charges came from. After about 20 minutes of back and forth with him I surrendered. He was aggressive, mean and overall made me feel threatened. After writing a written complaint, no one seems to really care. They will contact me in 30 days via a written letter? I was lied to about an estimate and should have known this place was a scam. Shame on me for not checking yelp reviews. Also not very professional when people keep mentioning you should give them a tip. Listen to the other reviews and do yourself a BIG FAVOR- do NOT book e-z movers unless you want to get lied to, threatened and scammed. I don't know how they are still in business. Also wish I could give "0" stars. One last thing- it took the movers 30 minutes to try and figure out where to park after I had showed them and told them multiple times. At $125/hour really is brutal to pay them for getting lost. Instead of apologizing I was told it was my fault. read more

I can't begin to tell you how horrible this company is. Please don't waste your money. The worst part is, by the time you figure out how bad they are, it's already too late and you have no choice but to deal with terrible service. I can sincerely say that they flat out lie. Awful. I'd give them no stars if I could. They should go out of business. read more

I used EZ movers before and everything was fine. However the second time I used them, things went very wrong. They were late to pick up my things and then in the middle of moving, they said they needed to leave right away to deliver something else. Half of my things were put back into my apartment. When I asked when they would be back they said, an hour, maybe. They did return three hours later, without a real explanation. This kind of behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. Then to top it all off, I had to wait three weeks for them to deliver my things to my new place. I will no longer use EZ movers for any other move, nor will my family or friends. read more

NEVER EVER USE THESE MOVERS. Worst experience ever and by the end of the day we had to move OURSELVES!!! Had email and phone call CONFIRMING an 8:00 start time. By 8:15, no one showed so I called their office only to receive a message stating their office hours are 8:00am-7:00pm and that office is currently CLOSED. made no sense. After calling for an hour and continued to get the same message, I finally put in an extension and got a person who told me my move was scheduled for 3:00pm -8:00am. This wasn't doable because our tenants were moving in that afternoon and we also had cleaners coming. I'll spare you the details, but they strung me along ALL DAY promising they would take care of it and send movers earlier, as well as make it up to me (I had to ASK for that). The manager Steve lied to me all day, avoided my phone calls (as confirmed by one of the receptionists I befriended). They kept telling me every hour that someone would be there but no one showed and the dispatcher later confirmed she had never even been told to send a truck earlier. In the meantime we sat around all day waiting, the cleaners arrived and were only able to clean the bathrooms, and the new people moving in were pissed the least. I had also paid a sitter for the whole day, and had taken the day off work. Movers finally showed at 3:30. They wouldn't start until I signed papers that I would pay in full. Of course I wouldn't so I called the office and was AGAIN strung along by the manager Steve who had initally promised they would give me a discount. We ended up cancelling rather then give them the business. Then Steve had the nerve to tell me, after what they did to me all day, that he wouldn't refund my deposit. I was in shock. I called the credit card company and got my money back. read more

I thought other reviewers were just being nit-picky, maybe, or that they have lots more stuff or much nicer stuff and were being a bit more demanding than I would be. After all, it seems that every long-distance moving company on Yelp has pretty negative reviews so I should just pick one. All of that may be so, but please don't pick this one. The five guys who did the move out were really nice and super efficient. The price seemed good. I thought we were doing so well. They quibbled over the definitions of some of the furniture (e.g., insisting that the sectional couch, because I had unlatched it into two pieces to get it out of the house, must be charged as two couches at a higher rate). But beyond those relatively minor points, I was happy. But then the stuff didn't come. Weeks went by and I called and emailed to find out if it had even been put on a truck to send out and couldn't get anyone to pick up the phone or respond to email. Suffice it to say that they missed the window they had given in the contract completely. This was rather nervewracking, as you can imagine - sitting on the floor for almost three weeks wondering whether everything I owned was missing and not able to get a response from the company. Finally, a sympathetic woman responded and did her best to be helpful but it was clear she had no authority to make them send or do anything. But at least she could tell me that my stuff wasn't lost. It just hadn't been sent out for delivery. They put it on a truck the day before it was due and - surprise - it did not arrive the next day. When it did arrive, they decided the driveway was too far away and parked in the street. (They seemed the same distance to me, but whatever.) When police told them to move, they left the remaining furniture that the first crew had disassembled sitting there in pieces on the floor. They could have reparked the truck legally and finished the assembly, as they were no longer carrying anything so it shouldn't matter how far away the truck was. But instead, they left everything unassembled and handed me several big piles of screws to do it myself. Nor did they bother to do simple things like put the TV on the stand for me, so I had manhandle the bulky furniture myself. Oh, and the TV's box had an enormous hole the size of my head chewed through the center. There were little bite marks, so this was not like someone tore it or punched through. Definitely not human damage. I was afraid something would come out of the box at me, but fortunately whatever had done that was still in the warehouse or in the back of truck with someone else's things. Whether you want that to be your stuff is up to you. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE!! Liar's about long distance pick up. They would not move their truck closer to my house...simply to charge a long distance move charge of $200. Crew spoke little to no English. They dropped stuff and were complete jerks. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. IT IS A SCAM. read more

I had to urgently find an interstate moving company to help me relocate from Chicago, IL to Arlington, VA. After reviewing (and quickly rejecting) several estimates, I called up EZ Movers and was pleasantly surprised by their quote (more than 50% lower than their competition). I was also impressed by their dedication to corporate social responsibility (fight against breast cancer). My timeline for delivery was very aggressive; I ideally wanted all of my things within seven days of them picking it up from Chicago. Someone in sales told me that wouldn't be a problem. However, wasn't the case. EZ Movers have between 3-10 BUSINESS days to deliver the shipment from the TIME YOU PICK IT UP AT YOUR DESTINATION. This should have been communicated up front during the point of sale, however I was informed of the spread a few days before the move. I didn't think it was a big deal, but living in an empty apartment for six days isn't too fun. They actually forecasted a delivery date well within their spread and came a day early. I am sorry to hear that so many Yelp reviewers had a bad experience with EZ Movers. This definitely WAS NOT the case for me. Everyone was extremely, patient, courteous and professional with me, from the sales team, customer service (Amanda is awesome), dispatcher, movers, etc.. Amanda helped me allay my worries about living in an empty apartment by giving me some advice on "transitional living". Overall, it was an excellent experience and I highly recommend them for local/interstate moves. I paid $250 more than the estimate and that was only for packing/wrapping/boxing of my furniture, TV, mirrors. When you get the estimate, know that you will HAVE to pay extra for specialized packing for your bigger items. They can't tell you this cost over the phone. Also, be very well-researched about your move so you don't get unexpected long carry or shuttling charges. I actually measured the distance between my place and the elevator and the elevator and back of truck. The medium duty truck easily fit into the loading dock. So, I got lucky there, but understand the issues in regards to truck loading dock access and distance between the back of box/trailer to your destination. If it means visiting your new place to do estimates or having someone locally do it for you, go for it. If it's inconvenient for them to move you in, you will pay for it. Thanks EZ Movers for a job very well done! read more

Good service. Lowest quote compared to other movers I was very apprehensive about using them after reading all the reviews against them, however they turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The movers were half an hour before time at pick up, which was good because that gave them time to wrap all the furniture in their own padding, which was another thing I really liked. They made sure all the glass tables, items etc, were well wrapped and carried. They did charge me 50$ more for it, but it was worth it in the end, since they packed everything so much more carefully and efficiently than I did. The pick up staff was courteous and efficient. Daniel, the representative who booked my move, was also very accommodating, and assured me that there would be no extra charges if I sent a couple of more boxes than what was mentioned, and they kept their word and did not charge me. I received continuous updates from them regarding the position of my shipment, and they also provided me with information regarding the driver, so I could personally contact him. They were 2 days earlier than I expected, and the drop off staff was very courteous, efficient and friendly as well. I took 1 star off because I ended up paying ~100$ more in packing charges and tips, and because my entertainment centre was slightly scratched. It is the kind of moving hit I would expect even if I personally moved it, so it's not too bad. All in all, great staff, efficient work. read more

Do not use!!! The movers arrived around 8am and it took them all the way until 11:15am to get everything on the truck and arrive to the destination when it was only a 2 bedroom apartment. I gave a very accurate account of all the things needed to be moved. I also told them they had the elevator at the new place reserved from 9am-1pm only. I was told I was being charged extra for the "oversized" couch which is a basic 3 seater couch. The 2 seater couch was already on the list of things included in the original quote. After telling the movers the company who delivered it was able to get it in using the stairs, the men insisted on putting it over the balcony. After finally arriving at the new destination, one mover swore and continued to complain about how far he had to walk to get to the elevator. This was very unprofessional and made the experience much more stressful. I was told I was being charged extra for a "longer walk." The movers told us they were going to have to go over time. After explaining that we only had till 1pm to use the elevator, they told us they would still need almost 2 hours more. I explained this would not be possible. They wanted our help in moving everything. My roommate's father was asked to drive up boxes to the elevator. The movers loaded his truck and had him unload and carry boxes. Then, my roommate's mother was inside the truck unloaded about 80% for the movers. I also carried items from the truck up to the apartment. Before we got involved, items were left unattended near the elevator on multiple occasions and the elevator was not even completely filled. Our living room furniture was nicked and damaged in many spots. I signed a receipt to be charged $614 and was charged $642 on my bank account. Our building manager was there to see everything and has informed me he will no longer allow EZ movers to be used by his tenants. read more

My roomate and I hired them twice within one week. Once would be to move unecessary furniture and boxes to our storage facility and the second time to move us into an apartment. The first time went without any huge problems, although there was one mover who seemed lost and confused and stood around while the other smaller guys did all the work. He also smelled like body odor. Eeek. Some of our stuff got tossed around but not enough to make us concerned about the next move. The second move went terribly. I don't think a move could go as badly as this one did. When you're moving you're very stressed out about a lot of things. It's costly, tiring and you're worried something is going to break or get lost. You're worried it's going to rain or the movers will track mud into your place or any of the number of things that can happen. We weren't prepared for the movers tracking dog poo all over our apartment. Since we were planning on going back to our old place to clean we hadn't even brought paper towels or a sponge. We didn't have anything to clean it with and the movers seemed oblivious. After we stopped them (one stepped in it and rubbed his shoe on the stoop and then the others all stepped on the stoop) and told them they just shrugged. It was a huge, disgusting mess. It couldn't have been worse. The customer service we were given after the fact was bad, too. Whenever I would call they would tell me that the person who handles claims isn't in and they will call me back. This went on for quite awhile until I just gave up. We ended up having to hire a steamer service to come over and clean the carpets. Since there was carpeting in only two rooms we ended up not having to pay too much. But we did have to scrub our floors, steps and hallway ourselves which was not what we wanted to do that day. I would not recommend them based on my bad experience. read more

This company refused to do an in person quote even when I specifically requested it. Then, refused to take any responsibility when the final bill was 56% over the estimated quote. From reading the previous reviews I see this is a normal tactic for them. I only wish I'd have know about their deceptive trade practices before I used them! Believe what everyone is saying. We used EZ Movers on 12/1/11. They were punctual (7am), efficient, and pleasant to work with. We and they were organized so the move from our Skokie home and a storage locker in Niles to Riverside (@22 miles) went smoothly and quickly. Since the move was finished 30 minutes early we were given a $50 discount off the original estimated bill. Everything went well. Shortly after submitting my furniture list on their easy on-line site there was a quick follow-up call. Within days I signed a contract. The move was scheduled for a day within the week. Getting 15 free boxes was a time saver and big bargain. The 3 man crew was all business yet personable. All of our items were bundled and handled with care. I can't understand, yet do not doubt ,some people have complaints with this company. To prevent a miserable moving day, I recommend organizing your boxes/furniture , doing some research, asking detailed questions, and keeping your eyes open and involved on moving day. Any person contacting a moving companies needs to understand they all add an extra fee ($75-$90) for use of the truck. EZ Mover's fee for this was lower than most. read more

I hate moving. The last time I moved, I told my husband that I would burn everything before I moved again. BUT E-Z Movers made my recent move a real dream. Recently, When I was looking for movers I came upon E-Z Movers. They not only had great rates, but the service manager offered me a variety of moving configurations to help me save money on the move. In addition his assistant told me what materials to purchase so that i wouldn't have to pay extra for shrink wrap or bubble wrap, etc. and where to get the stuff. Come moving day the crew arrived 1/2 hour early and asked if they could start then. The team lead went over the estimate, explained charges and verified which items were being moved. The team worked well and found ways to cut time creatively. In the end, the estimated move time was adjusted downward to the actual and everything was delivered in very good condition. The team was very solicitous of me. They brought up a chair to the new location first so that I could sit down while they brought up the boxes and furniture. They moved each item to the rooms designated and rearranged the furniture, put together my bed and even took my clothes from the wardrobe boxes and hung them in the closets. The men were all very polite and pleasant. An extra tip, E-Z Movers will actually store your items for free for up to three months or provide free wardrobe boxes and 12 extra boxes for free. I hope I won't ever have to move again, but it I do, my movers are E-Z Movers the company with the PINK (Support for Breast Cancer)Trucks. read more

We moved last year and just now are unpacking ALL the boxes that EZ left in our garage. We did all the packing, they only moved the boxes. We are finding lots of broken/damaged stuff in the boxes. Ceramic pieces that were wrapped in bubble paper, then wrapped in newspaper, then put into small boxes lined with newspaper and more bubble wrap-shattered. These aren't thin, delicate pieces-more like a quarter inch thick. Same thing for lots of framed photos. The only way these things could've been broken is if the boxes were slammed or dropped on the ground instead of simply put down. All boxes were labeled 'glass' and 'fragile.' I would never hire these people again. Loads of one star reviews here for this sleazy operation. read more

FRAUD ALERT! BEWARE! BE FOREWARNED AND AVOID THESE DECEITFUL SCAM ARTISTS AT ALL COSTS! My girlfriend recently moved from Malibu East condominiums (an upscale large condo on the lake, north of Lake Shore Drive) a few blocks away to my home in Edgewater. We had seen their big pink trucks around the neighborhood, and decided to try them. There was about two or three rooms to move. A girl at the office went over the specifics, and arrived at a figure of $390.00, with a $100.00 deposit. That was estimated for 3 and a quarter hours. Move was set for 9AM. Since this was a huge building my GF was moving out of, she had to reserve the freight elevator in advance, reserve space at the loading dock, and pay a substantial move-out fee. I was at the new place getting ready, when she called letting me know that they were 45 min late, and there were more problems. Upon arrival, the "foreman" (Uvi) insisted that before they would begin, she had to sign a rather serious looking contract. In the contract, they had written in an amount DOUBLE the original estimate. They were also demanding $200.00 for "packing materials" on top of the increase in price. She (rightfully) refused to sign, and an argument ensued. She called and asked me to come over to help. Upon arrival, one of the guys was yelling into his phone in Polish, and the other two were standing around. My understanding of the problem (at that point) was that the movers claimed that there was more to be moved than the estimate. They were counting individual items, including things that were not part of the move. The foreman was saying at this point that they were going to leave unless she agreed to their contract. With the additions, that would have brought the total to over $900.00. I got on the phone with the supervisor (Steve) and attempted to work out a compromise. Steve was obstinate, and stated that they would simply keep the deposit and move on to the next job if we didn't like their pricing. Now keep in mind, that this was the end of the month, and most people that are moving are bound to tight time schedules, with very little, or no, room to move dates around, and I believe that these folks KNOW this, and prey upon people in this situation. I got off the phone, and attempted to talk to the foreman. After discussion, we settled on a compromise: They would only move the furniture, and the larger boxes, and leave the rest for us to deal with later. They said that I had to get "Steve" to approve this. I called Steve back, and was put on hold. I waited five minutes, and then hung up and called back. I was told "Sure, just a minute" and was put on hold again, and I waited... and waited... No answer. I hung up and was going to call a third time, and I noticed that the crew was gone. They had walked off the job and left us with no movers, an empty loading dock, and a reserved freight elevator. After a few frantic calls, we were put in touch with a crew that works a lot in Malibu Condos, and were well liked (Low-Cost Movers). They were able to fit us in that afternoon, and quoted us $350.00 with no up-charges. (See my review here for Low Cost Movers). After going down to the dock, and talking with the nice lady that minds the shipping receiving dock at Malibu East, I learned more about these cretins. Everyone that parks in the dock must surrender a drivers license while in the building. This is a standard and usual practice in large condo buildings. Well, not only had these movers refused to give a drivers license, they also REFUSED to leave their names, or sign the sign-in log. When the lady told them that it was just building policy, they SWORE at her! I am convinced that this company preys upon people that are stuck, and in no position to argue with them. Their practice is to demand charges far in excess of what was agreed to, pad the costs, and price gouge their victims. Another note: When my GF was in their office initially, she asked to use the ladies room, and went to the back of the shop where she observed the following: Banks of phone cubicles, like a telemarketers shop, and quite a few of them were involved in what appeared to be heated, loud, and hostile arguments with clients on the phone. We called the credit card company and disputed the $100.00 deposit, we'll see what happens. We have also filed a dispute on Yelp. This is my second posting about this business on Telp. The first one was removed with no explanation. I believe that it is important for people to be warned about this company. My advice to everyone here on Yelp is to avoid EZ MOVERS, inc, like the plague. read more

Would give them a 0 if I could. My $300 move ended up costing $600 because they were 3 hours later than the agreed-upon time slot, so ended up being delayed by rush hour (which according to them, was my fault). Broke my lamp and damaged a brand new $550 table. Upon filing a claim, I was offered $25. I was yelled at on the phone when I called to talk about being overcharged, and then when I went to the Better Business Bureau, was accused of slander and libel. Will NEVER use E-Z Movers again, and am sure to tell everyone in my Real Estate industry the same. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere!!! read more

I am currently in the process of trying to obtain a refund for a move I cancelled. I was told the refund would take 1-30 days to post to my credit card. I am now at day 38 with NO refund yet!!!! Multiple emails have been ignored and one phone call supposedly got a guy to leave a message with the accounting department. I don't wrote many Yelp reviews, but this experience has me feeling exceptionally frustrated. Be careful with this company. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, for the love of God, DO NOT USE EZ MOVERS!!! They are the worst, most disorganized company I have ever had to deal with. I have had the absolute worst experience using them and I am so grateful I can at least Yelp about them in hopes that no one else will have to suffer like I did....I will try to make this story as short as possible, although it may be difficult. Please Read My Story Below, you'll be happy you did: The reason I chose them to begin with was because they were the lowest price among the 4 other companies I had bidding my move from Chicago to LA. I was quoted a good $2500 less than any other company for the same services. Their salesman Greg Davis is a very smooth talker and will tell you everything you want to hear. He made verbal promises included pricing which never were true. The quote mentioned above included a full service pack inclusive of all shipping materials and packing services. I happily agreed and paid the deposit they requested, which I thought was a little strange. MOVING DAY The crew showed up 3 hours late with only one of them knowing how to speak English. Once the English speaking person walked in my house he immediately whipped out his calculator and started to add things up. He told me the move will cost an additional $1100 and if I wanted them to move me I would have to pay the additional cost before they lifted a box. I became furious and called the smooth talking Greg Davis, whom happened to be out to lunch at the time. I spoke to another manager at the office and after and hour of bickering they agreed to only charge me an additional $600. Wow! What Nice guys. I had to pay because I was on a tight move schedule and it was now too late for me to chose another company. EZ Movers knows this and uses it against you. TRANSPORTATION Among the many promises Greg Davis made was the delivery date. I was moving all my belongings across country and it was extremely important that my furniture get delivered when promised. The delivery came 3 weeks later than promised. My wife and I had to buy army cot mattresses and sleep on the floor with the hopes that our furniture would arrive any day. It was a shock for us to find out that our furniture hadn't even left Chicago yet because the driver they chose for our delivery wasn't finished celebrating his Jewish Holiday (Sukkot). DELIVERY DAY! Well we finally made it to the day the driver said he would deliver our furniture. As usual they were many hours late, no big surprise there. When the truck finally arrived the driver was instructed by our building manager to move in through the rear door. Many tenants before us have moved in and out of the building using this rear door. Our unit is in the rear of the building on the first floor, which would have made the move a very easy and painless ordeal. The driver wasn't happy with leaving his rig in the alley. Instead he decided to park his truck at the end of the alley and walk our furniture down the alley and into the back door. Since this placed his truck 75ft away from the door the driver tried to charge me an extra $900. After flipping out on the driver he was quick to whip out the contract that I signed almost 4 weeks earlier stating that I initialed where it stated there would be extra charges for the 75ft distance. I once again tried to call the now infamous Greg Davis. Wouldn't you know it, he was out to lunch again. I spoke with another manager and this time I was livid. She told me that if I didn't pay the driver the extra $900 in cash, they would ship my furniture back to Chicago. Calling out her bluff, I told her to take the furniture back to Chicago as I wasn't paying the additional money and hung up the phone. The driver was listening to the entire conversation and quickly started to negotiate a price with me. We agreed on $400 and made me sign a hand written agreement that said I wouldn't sue them over the discrepancy. THE MOVE-IN The move in went decent. It took a few short hours for the crew to move us in our apartment. When they were finished, we were left with a pile of unopened boxes which I was suppose to then sign a paper that stated everything was delivered unharmed. Again reluctant but happy to get rid of the movers, I signed the document. I began to unpack immediately and realized that there were some pretty big missing items like my flat screen TV and my mattress. I called the driver immediately and he reluctantly took a look in his truck only to realize that there was an extra mattress and TV sitting there, Hmmmmmm. He told me that someone will be by later to drop the missing items off. The next day I began to open the boxes and realized the one box that had huge "Fragile" stamps had been destroyed. Yup!, you guessed it, all our dishware and glassware had been shattered and one of our night stands had been broken. THE DAMAGE CLAIM Short Version:They offered me $39 to settle the claim.WOW! read more

Worst moving company ever. Recently we moved from Chicago to Los Angeles. When we recieved our delivery the driver stated that the moving truck will not fit on my neighborhood street. That is qhen I knew he wanted to make extra mo ey by charging me. There was plenty of room on that street foe the truck just because a few months ago we had a same size truck from United Van Lines that came right to the front door. So the driver refuses and tells me that I have to give him $200 cash. I had to give it to him so that I could get my stuff. They moved everything in and the boxes looked like they were slightly crushed. However we didn't realize till after the fact that everything had water damage and it was already dried on the outside. Inside of the boxes there was a lot of moisture. I filed a claim and they refuse to pay stating that at time of delivery everything was good. However I could not tell anything at time of delivery cause the outside was dry. I was hesitant using 5his company after seeing all the bad reviews and now I confirmed it. There pricing is attractive but don't fall in the trap unless you want to loose alot of your personal belongings. Total damage was about $2200. read more

When my items where first packed up and on the truck, I tipped the driver what I thought was a reasonable amount($60 for a 45 min job). He counted it right in front of me and told me it was not enough. I was very embarrassed and taken aback by his rudeness. I was originally told when I booked that the truck would show up 3-5 business days to my move in date, 4/7. The truck finally came on 4/21. Unacceptable. However these guys where nice and did not question my $90 tip. BUT I am missing items and some of my favorite glass pieces are shattered beyond repair and some boxes where absolutely crushed. read more

I just have to add that it is odd that the majority of this companies 5 star reviews came basically on the same day by people who have not reviewd anything but them. E-Z Movers. Pros: Moved fast, worked hard and were affordable. Cons: Hidden fee's, condescending customer service, they don't take all your belongings, they damage your belongings, and worker's that become irate when politely questioned (and no, I'm not a crazy customer who's idea of polite is being passive aggressive or out-rightly aggressive. I grew up waiting tables and know first-hand what being nice to someone in the service industry is all about.) The Specifics... I was given an estimate that they knew they would over-shoot as they admitted later in a letter they sent and I quote, "Total cost may vary based on actual volume and services required." I was charged for a mattress bag (I supplied by own). Mirror packing (I told them I was moving a mirror, why didn't they add that to the estimate?), and 9 rolls of tape (again, they didn't think they were going to use tape, but then used 9 rolls, why not add that to the estimate?) So they admit it may vary based on "services required," they know the services will be required, but don't add them to the quote. Almost sounds intentional.... In the letter they sent me regarding items left behind they sent me information saying that they will not be held liable for items broken or injured except in cases of negligence of the Mover. Um.... so it's ok for you to leave behind my stuff because that way you won't be held liable for it. Last time I checked, I'm not saying you broke it, I'm saying you didn't move it. You are movers hired to move things, not leave them behind! They damaged an item and said it was because I wouldn't pay for additional item padding. Yet in their literature they say, "The hourly rate will include loading, unloading, padding, .... " Need I quote further, they damaged an item because I wouldn't pay extra to pad it. And they quote that they will pad it. Ridiculous. Oh yeah, and when I questioned why the item wasn't padded, the mover instantly raised his voice saying that he told me to pad it, he wanted to pad it, but I wouldn't pay extra! Um.... sir.... that service is included. Go elsewhere, there are too many companies to fall into E-Z Movers incapable hands. You are just asking to get burned. read more

I have never written a review before but I wanted to make sure that no one else worked with these liars and crooks. I had a small move and was quoted $513.00. The movers show up and immediately TRIPLE the cost. I figured all along that the move would be more than the quote but that was more than expected. Wait, it gets much worse! When they got to my new place they held my furniture hostage by making me pay in full before they unloaded anything! Then I find out they broke my new $800 chair. And a smaller dresser. The mover ensured me they would fix it and have it back to me in a week. Two weeks later, after 10 calls and NO return calls they deliver my chair. Still completely broken. I called Steven, the manager, and he told me "too bad". He was not going to fix it and It was my fault the chair was broken! He told me he was done with me. I STILL have not received my dresser. Please do NOT use the company. If ANYTHING goes wrong you will be screwed. Steven, Kevin and Natalia are horrible people and thieves! Be warned! read more

I don't typically write a lot of reviews, but I do normally use reviews to help shape my buying decisions. I hope for your sake you read through mine and the others on this list, because there are a TON of similarities. My process started with this company on June 5th, and has not yet been resolved to my satisfaction. Here's the main points: I called on June 5th asking if June 15th could work for a move, because I scheduled my time off around the timing of what I thought would be the pickup and drop off. (This was the main reason why I decided to book with EZ-movers in the first place.) I received a window of Sunday June 14 - Tuesday June 16th. They could not complete the job within my window, so they showed up Wednesday morning. When I called Brian on Tuesday I explained my concern with how this could impact my plans for my week and he checked in with his dispatchers to make sure I would be good for drop-off either Saturday or Sunday. I thought that sounded great. When I called on Saturday, confused because I hadn't heard anything yet, they hadn't heard anything about ME and didn't have any appointments scheduled. So I had to take MORE time off from work, and the soonest they could be there is Tuesday. There were multiple items that were broken, and things stacked poorly on each other, boxes and totes that were damaged. I bought a wine box, wrapped each glass in bubblewrap and newspaper and every glass was smashed. I mentioned this to the head mover. He said "well did we pack it for you? Because if not there's nothing we can do for you". So basically, you don't have a responsibility to take care of my items????!!! I took care to make sure these items were protected and marked as fraglile. Then the next box of glasses and mugs comes in, and there's literally a HOLE in the box from where something (who knows what) went through it. Right above the "fragile" sign. He informed me that "these items are handled 5 times, from my house to the truck, truck to the warehouse, warehouse back on the truck and back into my house, so anyone could have broken them". I'm sure you can understand how disconcerting his nonchalant attitude is. They damaged my $200 console table in moving - it came back a little wobbly like some screws were loose. The mover asked me if he wanted them to take it back to try to fix it, because there is someone at their warehouse that can do this for us. *BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER* They told me I would get this table returned in 7-10 business days, either fixed or not. I was fine with that. EZ-MOVERS have had this table since June 23rd. I followed up over and over and over after giving them 30 days to give me back my table. I was told by Steven the supervisor on August I told them I didn't even want it fixed. I've followed up 11 times with Natalia and Steven her supervisor, on 7/17, 7/29, 7/30, 8/3, 8/5, 8/10, 8/19, 8/25, 9/4, 9/5 and 9/11. All in trying to "find" or get them to return my table. Well finally they make the TREK to the warehouse to "find" my table, and Natalia said through email and I quote "The only one I came across that might belong to you is damaged beyond repairs. The wood is completely torn in half with no repairs to be done to it. I can speak with management to increase the compensation offer if you would like." OF COURSE I WANTED THAT. So they added $25 to the other damage claim from other items that were broken, and the entire total they wanted to give after having my table for MONTHS is $75. Natalia and Brian both said that there is no one else to speak to, and that the owner and General Manager will not take phone calls or emails. So my console table is UNIDENTIFIABLE, they don't even know for sure that it's mine because the only thing back there is basically smashed to little wooden pieces. And they think that after wasting HOURS of my time in unreturned phone calls and emails, that an offer of $75 is enough. That's an insult, and a terrible way to run your business. They then gave me some website to follow up with (not theirs, clearly) if I was dissatisfied. I gave YOU my money, so they should be fixing my issues and taking my concerns. FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO HAVE THEM MOVE YOUR ITEMS: They did not hold up one part of their contract. Not the date of pickup, not the date of delivery, not taking care of my items, not returning them after breaking them, not communicating with me to let me know where my items are, and at the end of all of this, I'm out MONTHS of time and still don't have my table, and will not get it back because they've smashed it to pieces on the second round of them taking it back. I don't even WANT their $75. Pathetic. If you want a MISERABLE moving experience, with people who do not value your business once they book your moving appointment and take your money, choose EZ-movers. read more

Worst moving company ever. Please do not even consider using EZ movers for your move. If I could give them 0 stars, then I would. EZ movers will overcharge you, they will yell at you over the phone, and they will be late for their pickup and dropoff. They were 5 days late for my dropoff and only offered me $15 a day reimbursement after I spent over $1,000 on the move. Do not let your first interaction with Brian fool you. You will be schemed by this company! If you are interested in finding movers, look for other companies. We had a great experience with E-Z Movers, Inc. The three man crew showed up early on moving day. They worked quickly and effectively. Weeks prior to the move, we had packed and moved everything that was able to fit into a car. All that was left was heavy furniture. All the furniture was properly protected, glass was wrapped in bubble wrap, boxed, etc. When all the furniture had been removed, they did a final sweep and picked up any empty rolls that had been left behind. We moved from the 14th floor of a Chicago condo to a storage facility in Des Plaines, IL. The crew worked really hard, they were very professional and polite. The final bill was very close to the estimate we had been given. There was no damage to any of the furniture. We are very happy customers and would use E-Z Movers again in a heartbeat! read more

I have a couple of regrets about my recent move experience. First, I regret not reading any reviews before booking E-Z Movers; that would have raised red flags right away and sent me looking elsewhere for help moving. My second regret is not firing them after they failed to show up to our initial appointment. I contacted E-Z Movers for a move on September 27. This was the last week before busy season started at work, so I decided to take both Thursday and Friday off to pack, and I would move on Friday so I could have the weekend to unpack and get settled before the office got too crazy the following week. We scheduled a 3 to 5 window, the only one available for the day. Before the day of the move, I explained to E-Z Movers that the place I was moving from had elevator policies set by the condo association. They said they understood and would make their best effort to arrive closer to the 3 o'clock part of the window. However, when Friday rolled around, I received several calls interspersed through the day, each one pushing the arrival time back. First, it was 3:30, then 4:00. Fine, that was within the window, but it was cutting it pretty close. I had just finished packing my last box when I got a call saying that it would be closer to 4:30. At this point I was getting pretty worried, so I figured that I had better talk to the manager of my building to make sure that they'd actually let the movers in since it was cutting it so close to the end of moving hours. Needless to say, they were not happy - keeping the elevator locked for movers would require a staff member to be present after 5 - but they agreed to give me until 6. At 4:45 - literally 5 minutes after I finally persuaded management to give me extra time - I received a phone call informing me that something had come up and that the movers wouldn't be at my place until 6:30 or 7, a full 2 hours after the window. At this point, I realized they were not coming at a reasonable time, so I cancelled and rescheduled. Unfortunately, the only time I could move next was Monday due to scheduling conflicts. This of course was far from ideal; in addition to having to unpack a bunch of boxes over the weekend, I had to make a Friday night call to my boss asking him to let me take Monday off. Luckily for me, he's a great guy, but it was still embarrassing as hell. I rescheduled, but let them know how unhappy I was to have my plans for a move so seriously compromised. Instead of hearing any apologies or ways they would make this right, though, the operator emailed me a complaint form and then quickly got off the phone. Clearly, they had unhappy customers before. After a weekend of living out of boxes and repacking everything, Monday finally rolled around. Now, I have nothing bad to say about the movers who showed up. They did a good job after they actually arrived. I was happy with the work they did. Customer service after the fact, though, was a different story. As soon as I had a few spare minutes the day after the move, I filled out the complaint form. I called a few times to actually speak with a human about my problems with their service, and I finally received a call back right before 5. The person I spoke to was friendly enough, but she stopped short of apologizing or assuring any compensation for stress and wasted time. I received an email the next day informing me that they politely declined to provide any form of discount. I did not even receive an apology, only a boilerplate "sorry for the inconvenience", a blatant dodge of responsibility on their part. Further, instead of accepting responsibility, they said they had to reschedule because of the elevator policy, not because they failed to show up when promised, as if the staff and I were supposed to wait around for them to show up In addition to that, she noted in her email that I cancelled "within the window," and offered that as an additional excuse. Keep in mind, though, that by "within the window" she means at 4:45, right after they told me they would be arriving 2 hours *after* the window closed. As you can probably understand, I was not happy and did not accept this answer. I sent them another polite yet firmly worded email, reiterating my request for recompense. The response I received stated that my complaint had been reviewed by all levels of management and that their position was final. Don't let my mistake be yours. Listen to my review and those others have posted if you want to get an understanding of E-Z Movers's idea of customer service. For myself, I learned that the company's idea of service involves blame-shifting when things go wrong, and care for a job well done stops once the check clears. read more

This company sucks, probably worst experience I've had. They broke half of my furniture and didn't do anything about it. They charged me extra on the day of the pickup saying my furniture weighted more than expected. So why tell me all of it was worth $3,000 but charge me $4,000? How am I supposed to back up and say I can't pay that much on my last day. The customer service is horrible. I had to call so many times to reach them. They are rude and they don't respect their customers. They damaged my dining table that cost me about $1,100 and they only offered me $48 for it. How am I supposed to fix the table with that much money. They think this is a joke. I don't recommend this company, don't make my mistake. You won't be happy. read more

The driver said to bad I called the company and the guy started swearing at me from the F word to screaming get off my phone bitch. TERRIBLE HELL EXPERIENCE!!!!! Start with customer service--was, at best, OK. The estimate I was give was off by $1800 for a 2 BR move! I ended up paying close to 3 grand. The guys who came and did the packing spoke little English--communication was awful! I had to be at work so I left my daughter to supervise. My mattresses were not unwrapped (one guy distracted my daughter while the other hauled them away). At the receiving end, the guys were late. I had to wait three weeks to get my stuff. Customer service was awful. My unwrapped mattresses were damaged. The guys, knowing their fault, had my son sign for the goods the minute they showed up at the door (since again I was at work) before we found out (at the end) that the matttresses were damaged. When I arrived, close to the end--and saw the damage...they uttered in poor English . . . ."call office, call office...: Well, I called the office (claims) and no one answered the phone or returned my call for days. Finally, I managed to touch base with a Ms. S (who acted rather arrogantly and heartlessly). She did not seem to care at all. I sent her pictures too. I filed a claim for my damaged mattresses, and I told Ms. S that this matter was not about money but about "doing the right thing." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They purposely overcharge, perform poor service, and when they do wrong--they shift blame and NEVER admit their mistakes. I looked them up at the BBB, and their rating is an F!!! Here is a clip of the BBB print of this lousy company: Customer Complaint History for E-Z Movers, Inc. If your office responded favorably as fast as you can write to quell the dirt...maybe your feeble attempts could get another victim giving you thousands of dollars for performing substandard work. oh, btw, $60 partial renumeration for a $1200 mattress is noble indeed! You need to be really, really careful if considering using this company for a long distance move. Actually, you need to be insane to pick this company! First, you do your own estimate. They charge by cubic foot, so once the packing/loading crew arrives, they may inform at that time that you underestimated. And the price goes up quickly, especially their crazy charges for packing tape and boxes. Everything is based on cubic footage, so you may end paying $700-1,000+ for a couple of hundred dollars worth of tape and boxes. Second, you need to pay 25% upon booking; 50% upon pickup and 25% upon delivery. And remember, you won't have exact figures until the complete the loading, so you will not be able to get a cashier's check or money order in advance. I admit we underestimated our cubic footage and ended up paying about $1,000 more than expected for the space and the packing material mark-up For pick up, they give you a 3 day window. They called the night before and arrived right on time. The packing and load crew were nice guys, but very unskilled in moving and spoke little English. Took them about 12 hours to load a small house. Very disorganized and they very obviously expected a large tip in cash which we did not give them (by the way, if you expect us to give them a tip, tell us BEFORE the move instead of giving me a form to sign AFTER pack/load to say they are expecting a 10-15% tip. Just did not have that much cash on me at midnight!!) You get a stack of paperwork that you have to sign. The crew does not speak English so they cannot help you, and no one in the office will answer the phone, so you have to wing it. Also, we were not allowed to verify the inventory. I was required to sign it after it was done, but I could not read my copy. We were told by the sales rep, Greg, to indicate on the paperwork the earliest date they could deliver to our new address. They promise deliver within 10 days and we were told several times to not put in a date before we would be at our new place. However, in reading the paperwork, they have 10 business days to deliver AFTER that "earliest" date. After we got to our new place, it took us several days and multiple calls/e-mails until we got confirmation of our delivery date. Amanda O. was very helpful in getting us a confirmation on 7/12 of a 7/14 delivery date. The delivery crew showed up on time. Again, they spoke little English and the first order of business was to get my check for the balance and to sign the inventory forms as complete BEFORE they took anything off the truck. Once again,no inventory control. In EVERY other move I have made, the movers have us check off each box/item as it is brought in. We tried to do that, but we could not find the items on our copy of the inventory and the crew would not slow down enough for us to track the stuff. Oh,wait, I forgot - they already made me sign that it was all there! It began very obvious that the packing crew either had no clue what they were doing or did a bad shop on purpose. While the furniture made it okay (minus several broken lamps), most of our household goods were dumped into wardrobe boxes. Including all of our hanging clothes (dresses, suites, dress shirts). All of which are wrinkled and dirty. It is going to take at least a week to unpack and assess damages and it was heartbreaking to see our personal items treated like trash. I have been assured by Amanda and Caroline that our damage claim will be processed in due course and per our contract, which probably means I will get $20 after months of paperwork and phone calls. Of course, they have no local rep to assess the damages, so it will be our word against theirs, and we will lose. Actually, we lost the moment we signed up with this company, and the hits keep coming. As a final insult, the crew refused to set up our entertainment center (gee, they took it apart!) or to pack out any of their trash. "Not in your contract" was the one English phrase they were very good at. So, we made a bad choice with this group. Amanda O tries hard, but what can she do when the crews break and/or trash your stuff? She must have the worst job in the world - professional apologist for the world's worst moving company. Save your stuff, your money, and your sanity - use ANYONE but E-Z Movers. Face it, moving is tough enough without the insane stress that they add to the process. read more

I agree with all the negative comments before and especially the one that says I WUD RATE THEM NO STARS OR NEGATIVE STARS IF YELP ALLOWED THAT. I PAID THIS GANG OF THIEVES (AND THUGS) MORE THAN 200% OF THE ORIGINAL QUOTE THEY GAVE ME. And I feel cheated, humiliated..... Worst experience of my life. THESE BUGGERS DESERVE TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS. To put things in perspective, here is how my experience was - BEFORE placing the order - This is a binding estimate. We will not charge you a dime more than this. And they will list down everything that you tell them as inventory. Then you pay the ADVANCE. BIG MISTAKE. AFTER placing the order - Then the NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING THUG from this company that shows up on your door with a contract that does not have half the things that you told the marketing guy who gave you the quote. This THUG then tells you, it will cost you 200% more. He then tells you, IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT, YOU CANCEL THE ORDER. YOU FORFEIT YOUR DEPOSIT. I WILL GO. Basically - they make you feel every step of the way after placing the order that ONCE YOU PAY THE ADVANCE, THEY HAVE YOU BY YOUR BALLS. BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy tells you that if you pack your stuff, we just move it. NO EXTRA CHARGES. AFTER placing the order - Then the NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING THUG from this company that shows up on your door tells you that the unpacked large toys are unacceptable. AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY 15 DOLLARS PER ITEM FOR THEM TO PACK THOSE. BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy tells you that the movers will call 1 day in advance before showing up. AFTER placing the order - The THUGS from this company call you 1 hour in advance and you have to drop everything that you are doing so that you can be there. NO PRICES FOR GUESSING WHY...... BECAUSE THEY HAVE YOUR DEPOSIT (READ BALLS) AND EVERYTIME THERE IS A THREAT - "IF YOU ARE NOT THERE, I GO BACK....YOU LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT OR YOU PAY 500 DOLLARS EXTRA IN CASE ITS DELIVERY" BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy will tell you that coast to coast you will have your stuff within 10 days as HE HAS TRUCKS WAITING TO MOVE YOUR STUFF. When you see the contract and ask him why the contract says 3 weeks, HE WILL TELL YOU THAT THE CONTRACT HAS TO HAVE ADDITIONAL TIME FOR CONTINGENCIES. Reasonable.... you wud think. AFTER placing the order - ONCE THE DEPOSIT IS OUT OF YOUR POCKET AND INSIDE EZMOVERS VAULTS, PLUS THE ADDITIONAL 80% OF THE BALANCE THAT THE THUG PICKING UP YOUR STUFF EXTORTS FROM YOU, you are left with NO MONEY AND NO STUFF. They have both. Then they take their own sweet time to deliver. MY STUFF WAS PICKED UP ON 2ND MARCH AND I RECEIVED IT ON 22ND MARCH..... couple of days before the contract expired. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT IT TAKES 3 WEEKS TO GET YOUR STUFF, I WOULD HAVE NEVER AGREED TO SUCH ARRANGEMENTS. Imagine living in an empty house with two toddlers and having to manage your kitchen without bare minimum essentials for 3 weeks. You can't live on pizza for ever no matter how much you like it. BESIDES EVERYTHING ELSE, THIS ONE IS TOO PERSONAL TO LET GO as I WAS CHEATED AND LED TO SIGN A CONTRACT THAT I WAS REMINDED OF EVERY SINGLE MINUTE AFTER SIGNING. NOT WORTH IT. BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy will chase you by making calls after calls. Extremely courteous. AFTER placing the order - The same guy will avoid you as if YOU HAVE SWINE FLU.He will STOP TAKING YOUR CALLS OR RESPONDING TO YOUR EMAILS. The THUGS that show up on the door are so rude, they were not just RUDE with me but also with my neighbors at the new place where I have moved. Not sure what my new neighbors think of me. read more

WARNING! Do NOT use EZ Movers. We used them once before and had no problem. Went back to them a second time and were scammed and stolen from. 1. They double the estimate AFTER they had already packed everything in their truck and there was nothing we could do. Basically holding our stuff for hostage. Management refused our calls when we immediately contacted the main office to dispute the charges. Please note: we had just used them a couple of months prior and had exactly the same amount of furniture and items to move. What had changed was how much they were charging us in extra fees, padding their travel time excessively etc... (They had initially quoted us free travel time, otherwise we would have gone with a local company.) 2. We had a two part move, so had to send things to storage. They quoted us free storage, yet charged us double when it came bill time. 3. They arrived two hours late at our final destination, claiming they were lost. The CHARGED us for those two missing hours and DEMANDED CASH upfront before they would haul our belongings into the house. They refused credit card payment, knowing we could dispute the bill. This amounts to extortion. 4. We had several items broken, computer stolen, tools stolen, bike stolen- they refused to answer our phone calls. After several letters and legal claim forms sent, they offered us $45 compensation with no apology or acknowledgement of the distress they had caused us through the whole ordeal. We had purchased the additional insurance recommended, but because EZ Movers would not cooperate with the claim, we could not file with the other insurance company. EZ Movers made a comment on a post below that their $0.30/lb disclaimer is on the contract and so we should know that going in. However, this "disclaimer" and their attitude towards clients who are stolen from is basically giving their employees permission to steal anything they'd like. There is absolutely no accountability. 5. We ended up paying more than twice the original estimate: charging us for travel time (which was quoted in writing as FREE), charging us for storage (which was quoted in writing as FREE) charging us for two hours they were "lost", charging us for surchares/additional fees/materials we didn't use etc... Through the entire move, we repeatedly called to speak to the person who initially quoted us and tried to speak to someone in management. We NEVER got through to anyone- instead being bounced around from voicemail to voicemail, or put on hold indefinitely. This was the most shocking experience we have ever encountered from any company. I cannot believe they are still in business. We have filed with the Better Business Bureau and successfully disputed against them with our credit card for partial refund of the initial payment. Unfortunately, there is little that law enforcement can do in these situations we found and no real course of action other than dragging the mess through court. So. Here we are YELP! As an end note- Our experience with them was night/day between the first and second move that we used them for. Reviewers with higher ratings perhaps had an okay experience, but may not get so lucky if they choose to use them again. A test of a company's true integrity comes when things may have gone wrong, and how they choose to respond. As is clearly evident from the majority of ratings here- EZ Movers fails to meet basic professional standards. read more

NO STARS! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! PLEASE BEWARE! The worst move ever! I don't even know where to begin. I moved from Missouri to Georgia. The window for pick-up was 1-3 business days, the driver called four hours before he pulled up on the third day and said he was on the way (so much for a 24 hour notice "as promised"). Then I was SUPPOSE to receive my belongings in 7-10 business days, well, I got them 14 days LATER. Yep, 4 additional days. Then guess what? The guy pulls up with the truck (Naji, he was great by the way, he just works for a HORRIBLE company) and he says well if the side of my truck is more than 75 feet I'll have to charge you extra, I wondered to myself "How would he determine that?" Well I'll be damned if he didn't pull out a long ass ruler and measured it at 85 feet from my front door to the truck. Well, that EXTRA costed me $750.00 for TEN FEET, after I called the company and raised hell they took off $250.00. Still unacceptable. I'm not cheap BUT I had already paid $484.00 down payment, $1,095.00 when he picked up my belongings in Missouri, then $1,415.00 when he brought my things to Georgia and I REPEAT he asked for an additional $750.00 OR all of my stuff goes back to storage. No question. I wouldn't hire this poor excuse for a company to move my damn dog house 2 feet. Nick (the guy who picked up the furniture) came in a small budget truck after KNOWING what was on my list, that damn Maryam at the office is just a LIAR, I told her what I had, her job is to help rip off customers. This could be racial, aimed at blacks and non-whites with the pricing. They say one thing on the phone then when they get there, everything is extra. They even charged $160.00 for bubble wrap, that of which I DID NOT need because I packed everything and BUBBLE WRAPPED it. The furniture was still nicked after their "padding".The guy that answered the phone about the extra feet was rude as hell. I'm going to report this company to the BBB. This business will shut down because it's horrible and shady. YOU CANNOT PROSPER ripping off customers. I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Less is not more, hell, I was better off using Two Men and a Truck, at least they don't squeeze the life out of your pockets. I know the spring/summer is coming up and people want to move but PLEASE people avoid this ruthless ass good for nothing company. Do your research, shop around! A neighbor was moving in as well and she told me, all of her furniture was fairly BANGED up and damn near ruined. We coincidentally moved in the same complex with the same lousy ass company, the same day and she complained as well. They may be getting business now but it's going to shut down eventually because what goes around comes around. I'm just not sure how they are in business. You reap what you sow. STAY AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN! PEOPLE ARE NOT LYING ON THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE! read more

Please take our advice and DO NOT use E-Z Movers. E-Z Movers had the lowest quote we received on our move from MN to NC. However, when they arrived the low quote was completely negated when we were charged SIGNIFICANTLY MORE for "long carry" charges. These "long carry charges" were the fault of the driver because he did not pull up close enough to the building when a car that was parked near our front door pulled away 30 minutes into the move. These charges were significant and the total overall cost of the move was nearly double our original quote as a result. The head mover we worked with was a jerk and very unpleasant to work with. He told us he was originally from Bulgaria and inadvertently shared that he makes $200,000 a year, which explains the extra fees that we assume go directly to him. The movers spent four hours loading our items and the truck was left running the entire time -- a fuel cost that I'm sure was passed on to us as the customers. When we signed the contract we were told it would take 7-14 days for our items to arrive in NC, however once in our new location we were told it was 7-14 BUSINESS DAYS. Also, we were told we would get 24 hours advance notice when our shipment was to arrive, but we only received a few hours notice. It was never explained that the remaining balance would need to be paid IN CASH. There was damage to a significant number of items, which E-Z Movers refused to pay for because without our knowledge the mover had identified nearly all our furniture items as "SC" when loading, a designation we did not notice when signing the papers. The "SC" stood for "scratched," indicating that these items were damaged prior to moving. However we had recently purchased most of our furniture items and many were brand new. They have never mentioned to us what the SC stands for and just gave us the papers and said: "ok, sign here". You could argue that we agreed and signed without reading the fine print, but who would read them in such hectic moments. The mover identified our items as "scratched" in order to protect the company should our items get damaged, which they did. We had rips in our new leather couch, scratches on a new dining room chair, and a scratch on a new leather bench. They were completely DISHONEST and UNETHICAL and that's how they make their money. We called an arbitration company to discuss filing a complaint, and when we mentioned the name "E-Z Movers" the person on the other line let out an audible sigh, as indication that we were not the first people to taken by this company. According to our research, E-Z Movers has changed their name at least once in their history, and we will be watching to see if they do so again. We should have listened to other reviewers who had complaints, but we took a risk and have been paying for it ever since. read more

Do NOT use this company!!! They are criminals and do not care about their customers. The company's way of quoting is completely a load of bull. I was quoted $1132 but then as soon as the movers got there the driver was like we are going to have to charge you more. It went from $1132 to $2209. I was charged $300 for a long carry pickup (which is NOT in the contract they send you). Basically they are stating that they had to walk more than 75 from the door of my storage unit to the back of truck which was the biggest load of crap. The driver then pulls me aside and says if you don't give me a $100 cash I am going to charge you $435 more than what I told you. I was all alone except for my son at a storage unit so no one was around so I was scared so I gave him the $100. He said I couldn't tell head quarters or his partner. My son witnessed everything as well as I had my sister on the phone that heard the entire conversation but the driver didn't know she could hear him. They already had loaded all of my items in the truck and I was scared to not give him the $100. I called Maryam at home office immediately after this but she was gone so I had to call back the next day. When I spoke to her about the incident she said she would have to call me back and talk to her boss first. So I get this paperwork to fill out for a claim and that all correspondence from them on out had to be in writing. So after a week of waiting I called only to have her transfer me to her boss that was probably the rudest man I have ever in my life spoken to and I am also 50 so that is saying a lot. He basically told me that if one of his drivers did rip me off that it wasn't hurting me only him. He would speak to that drivers supervisor and let him decide what he wanted to do about the driver. So I said you are telling me that is doesn't bother you that you have a driver threatening customers and that it is costing you business but you haven't even fired him over this situation. He said lady you don't even matter to me. I was never so applaud in my life. I also spoke to him about this long carry pickup of $300. He said that the driver sent him pictures of the distance from the truck to my storage unit and it was more than 185 feet. I said you can tell that by looking at a picture and he said yes. I said can you please send me those pictures because I was standing there the entire time with the driver and he never took any pictures. He said no I won't send you the pictures which tells me that he was lying and had no pictures. So it must be a requirement to be a criminal to work for this company! It is just very plain and simple DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are HORRIBLE!!! read more

REPOSTING THIS REVIEW ON THIS PAGE - LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE MULTIPLE PAGES FOR THE SAME COMPANY. I very rarely write reviews, and generally give companies the benefit of the doubt to right their wrongs. However this experience was (and continues to be) so terrible I feel the need to warn as many people as I can against using their service. This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company (I have moved many times for work, living in all continental U.S. timezones). I hired them in November 2017 to move a studio worth of furniture from San Francisco, CA to Denver, CO. Not only did 3 of the items show up irreparably damaged, but 3 additional items (listed on the inventory) were missing altogether. The company locally outsources it's movers, and while the freelance guys who packed up and delivered my stuff were nice, they were clueless and unprofessional. When the delivery driver acknowledged that things were missing, he told me flat out I would have a hard time getting the missing items delivered or compensated for. He said "oh they (the company) are going to hate you. They hate anyone that has their **** together." Great...so this company would prey on someone who may not have noticed one box wasn't delivered?! In my case it wasn't just one box: it was a bookcase, a coffee table, and my TV. Ridiculous. My sales person's name was Maryam, and she became non-responsive when I began to start following up on my issues...which I have had to do every week for the past month and a half and still am nowhere with regards to being reimbursed for damaged items or more frustratingly in regards to my missing items. I filed a BBB complaint and this was the company's response: "Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay in delivering the remainder of your shipment. 2 of the 3 undelivered items have been recovered, and we should have answer on the 3rd item within a week or so. Once the 3rd item has been confirmed to be in our possession, we will schedule delivery. In the unfortunate case that the 3rd item is not recovered, we will schedule delivery for the 2 items we have and will make a monetary compensation offer on the third item, along with the claimed damaged items. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this matter." Terrible customer service. Terrible follow through. If this isn't enough to deter you from working with EZ Movers, I don't know what would be. At this point I would rather have trucked my stuff across the country on foot than deal with this pathetic excuse for a customer focused moving company. read more

For those of you considering using EZmovers, I have one word...don't. We hired them to move a few pieces of furniture from Kansas to Washington state for my son who is in the army there. After being told the cost, time frame, etc, very little went as planned or promised. The furniture was picked up on March 30. On April 12th we received an email stating our furniture was on a truck and on its way. They included the driver's name and phone number encouraging my son to call for updates. The following week my son called the driver and left three messages for him to call. He never did. I called Greg Jones, our representative. He apologized and said someone would call me that day. No one did. I had to call again and was assured someone would call my son and no one did. The next time I called Greg Jones, it was a Friday afternoon and I was told he had left for the day but would be in on Sunday. I called on Sunday and they were closed. Things got worse. By Friday, April 24th I was called to say the driver would deliver either Saturday or Sunday, April 25 or 26. The driver called my son and said he would deliver on Monday, April 27th. He said my son owed $200 more than the paperwork stated. I called Greg Jones and could not reach him. Of course he did not call back. I was assured that my son would not have to pay the extra $200. On Monday the driver's truck broke down so delivery was pushed to Tuesday. On Tuesday my son had to be at work. The furniture was delivered with my son's wife at home to receive it. She is Brazilian and speaks broken English. The headboard to their bed was missing, the glass top to the desk was broken and an oak desk chair which had been in my family for at least 60 years was broken. They did not attach the mirror to the dresser and the driver was rude. I called Greg Jones four times over two days before I got him on the phone. He never called me back like I requested. He knew I was upset so he proceeded to be sarcastic with me, would not listen to me and yelled at me. He quickly put me on hold for several minutes before a manager got on the phone. I did not get much further with him. He said he would email me a claim form. He did not. My husband called the next day and was told the same. After reading other reviews, I realize what a lying, scalliwag company this is. We will file a claim if we get the form. I am so disappointed and frustrated. They don't care about customer service, just getting paid. Don't ever use this moving company. We will be filing a complaint with the state of Illinois. read more

I would describe my moving experience as nothing short of miserable. When the movers first arrived at my home they told me they couldn't fit their 18-wheeler down my street so I was going to have to pay $500+ to have a smaller truck brought. Whatever, to some extent I understood even though the pricing was extreme. When the movers packed my things, they left 20-30 empty roll of tape laying around my house, on my porch, and in the road. After cleaning up after them, I was just happy to have my stuff headed to my new destination. They provided me with the 10-day window of delivery. Shocking news, I received an email that my shipment was going to be late. So, 14 days later I finally get a call that my stuff was going to be delivered. I meet the movers at the storage unit where I was going to keep my stuff. They break out a measuring tape and measure every single inch of how far the storage unit is from the back of the truck. I'm told I'll have to pay ~$400 extra for them to move my stuff into my storage unit because it's too far from the back of the truck. At this point I wasn't willing to give this company another penny so I told them to take my things as far as they could and I would move them from that point into my storage unit (literally around the corner and about 10 steps away but they wouldn't assist). They brought my stuff as far as they could, and just sat it there. Didn't bother to take all of their tape (EXCESSIVE amounts of tape) and padding/saran wrap off of my items. So there I am, a single 110-lb 25 year old girl, by myself, with my keys trying to rip this tape and packing off of my items so I can break my back attempting to move everything into my storage unit. To make everything better, when unpacking my items I was finding a lot of damages. My $250 dog feeding cabinet was completely falling apart to the point where screws were all over the place and it was like about 10 pieces. Plastic containers clearly marked with "FRAGILE" had cracked lids to the point that they were falling off of the boxes (I haven't yet gained the courage to look at the items inside the boxes). One of my dining room chairs ($150) was broken. While I was in the middle of sweating my a$$ off moving my things, the mover stopped me in the middle of moving something to get me to sign the papers so they could leave. I honestly have nothing good to say about my moving experience with E-Z Movers and would warn others to look into ANY other option, even if it costs more. Wish me luck on submitting all of my claims!!!!! read more

Ehmil must be getting tired of having to respond to all these negative complaints. You know it would be a lot easier if you just ran your company correctly in the first place. You could avoid the countless negative reviews that you receive. So where do I start? This company has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Any one I've talked to on the phone has been short with me and condescending. Ehmil, the Professional Yelp Responder for this company (because it's a full time job apparently), is very pompous in his responses, insinuating in his feedback that you are making up your claim of a lost or broken item (I had both). Just read all the reviews and see for yourself. So here's the biggest fault with the move. THEY LOST MY COUCH. And now they claim they never took it, so they won't refund me. Funny thing is, the couch is listed on the itemized estimate AND on the post-inventory lists signed by the mover who picked up my couch. I have photos of both lists with the couch listed. I will email it to you if you'd like to see for yourself (couprim@gmail.com). They also broke my $100 floor lamp. They admitted to breaking it, then offered me $12 for it. I have a picture of the letter that says this. I will email it to you along with photos of the broken lamp (couprim@gmail.com). Also, as if that wasn't enough, they sent NON-EZ Movers employees to do the move. I have both the driver and mover telling me ON VIDEO that they do not work for EZ Movers. They say on the video that the actual driver got sick, so he asked them to do it. These guys did not have EZ Movers clothing or even an EZ Movers truck. They were subcontracted to do the move because the actual mover got sick. However, the replacements were not even certified movers. They were just some random guys. Also, the driver did not help with the move, so there was only 1 guy to move my entire apartment. It took over 6 hours and I had to help the whole time because the 1 guy couldn't do it all by himself, especially not the big furniture. So you can see why I will now be getting a lawyer. Please email me at couprim@gmail.com and I will send you all of the photos and videos mentioned in this post. You will see the evidence for yourself. I'm also posting these photos and videos on facebook. And I encourage you to do the same. Spread the word. Let people know that EZ Movers is a scam and they should never be trusted. Have fun with that one, Ehmil.

BECAUSE THEY HAVE YOUR DEPOSIT (READ BALLS) AND EVERYTIME THERE IS A THREAT - "IF YOU ARE NOT THERE, I GO BACK....YOU LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT OR YOU PAY 500 DOLLARS EXTRA IN CASE ITS DELIVERY" BEFORE placing the order - The marketing guy will chase you by making calls after calls. Not sure what my new neighbors think of me. read more

My experience with booking with E- Z movers came a long way. If you have a moment to take please read this review because I was witness to it and now understand it. I contacted E-Z movers a few months back and my job was just recently completed. 1.I was first given a call and was told to fill out an inventory. I sent that in after talking to my rep. she wanted to go over it again because it was a long distance move. I didn't see the point but said no thats ok. I moved onto the next moving company. After going around and around with other companies she called again to follow up and see how things were going with my moving arrangements. I listened to what she said and man was i happy that i did. 2. Stacy explained to me about how you have to try to be very detailed as possible with the long distance moves so that there is no surprise charges at the pick up. And we went over this list for weeks. We got it together and she was in contact with me the whole time. Whenever I needed something she was there. 3.E-Z movers has a great staff when you need to check on something they all are willing to help out. I feel everyone is upset about the fact that you forgot to tell the Rep everything that you have. Take the time to work with the Rep tell them what you want and let them work with you. I did have to learn to be a little flexible not realizing that a semi isnt going to get to me in a day or two it takes some time. The movers called the day before they called when they were delivering my items and they also were just great guys to work with. It was a great experience for me to learn and I felt comfortable with my Rep and she told it like it was not like every other company i know telling me what i wanted to hear. Great Staff, great workers, great movers!!!! So thank you E-Z Movers I will use you again in a few months to move my sister and mom out to me. Thank you again so much. read more

DO NOT USE THIS E-Z MOVERS. THEY ARE THE WORST MOVERS. They will give you one quote and when they get to your house, they will tell you they have another charge. They charge you for loading, taking the furniture out of your house to the truck, the driving and also for taking the furniture off the truck and brining it into your new place. Oh yea, they measure the distance from your door to the Semi. If it is pass 70 feet, they charge you a LONG DISTANCE CARRY FEE OF $350. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. They will say that the service is in the quote but it is not. They charge you to shrink wrap and bubble wrap the furniture and appliances. Even though you already did it. Most of the drivers do not speak English. Its like a Russian Mob. Then, they dont bring your furniture on time. They give you excuses. Stick to the American Movers. FOR GODS SAKE...DO NOT USE EASY MOVERS. 06/06/2013: Ok, got a message from someone name Ehmil. Wow, Got nerve to say I only had a quote. My stuff came broken, destroyed and missing. APPROXIMATELY $1,200 IN DAMAGES. PEOPLE, FOR GODS SAKE...DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND NOT USE THIS COMPANY... WITH THE DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE TO OUR FURNITURE, THE DRIVER HAD THE NERVE TO ASK TO USE OUR REST ROOM... HELL TO THE NO!!!!! AGAIN, JUST PURE B.S. AND EXCUSES. MY ADVICE...DO THE MOVE YOURSELF AND SAVE THE HASSLE. They don't even deserve a Star. This place is crap. I will definitely let my Military Superiors know about this. 06/18/2013: now they told my spouse that our box is lost for good and they will not repair or replace the damge furniture. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE; STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE OF POOP. THE PEOPLE ARE LOWER THAN WHALE CRAP AND THATS PROBABLY AS LOW AS YOU CAN GO. AND THATS PUTTING IT LIGHTLY. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I read Michael's review of EZ Movers, and i've got to say that my experience with them was utterly different from his. When the drivers arrived (on time), they got to work immediately. Although one of them was not American-born, they both spoke excellent English and we had no trouble understanding one another. (One kind of funny thing about that... i think that the guy who wrote my inventory was Russian-born, and on one of the inventory lines he wrote "Miks". This created some confusion on the other end when that item # didn't come in at first. When they found it on the truck, it turned out to be several items bundled together... a "mix".) They loaded the truck very quickly, joking and talking with me the whole time. They loaded me up on May 13th, and the driver told me that i had to put June 14th as the earliest possible delivery date. I told him that i wouldn't have the money to pay for the delivery (which was dead on to what they quoted me, by the way) until the fifteenth at the earliest. He said no problem, it wouldn't leave Chicago until the 14th, then it had to travel all the way to New Haven, CT. Because of this, it came as kind of a shock when i received an e-mail from them on the 11th stating that my stuff had left Chicago that day, and it wound up arriving on the 14th. So, although i had to borrow money to pay for the remainder of my move, which i wasn't happy about, they unloaded it quickly and carefully, having me check off each item on the inventory as they came in. All in all, i am very pleased with my experience and would recommend them to anyone. It also says in their paperwork that gratuities are suggested for their drivers, which frankly never occurred to me, so i didn't budget it. I will say, though, if you use them, budget a tip. They work hard and they deserve it. Randal read more

I should have checked yelp before booking EZ Movers. My husband did, but only after I signed a contract and he didn't want to say anything to me about these awful reviews to further stress me out with the move. I too was referred to them by a friend that had a mediocre experience with them a few years back. I made sure to ask all the necessary questions and asked several times if the quote was accurate and if any other charges would be incurred. I was told repeatedly that my quote was accurate and that tape, just tape, would be additional. The itemized list I submitted to the company with what we needed to be moved was extremely accurate, down to moving the ironing board. The day before the move they called and said they we're overbooked and asked if they could come later in the afternoon rather than 9am. I booked them several weeks prior and setup to have my loading dock available. I told them no so they asked to come a 8am. I agreed. But then they showed up at 9:30am. Not a big deal, but things got worse. The movers started reviewing my apartment, pacing back and forth with their calculator. The price they gave me was 3 X'S WHAT I WAS CHARGED OVER THE PHONE! I felt like I had been scammed! It was apparent to me that this company backs you into a corner knowing that all of your stuff is packed and ready to go. It's not like you can tell them to leave and find someone else to move you the same day. Needless to say my husband and I were livid. Luckily the movers were nice and we were able to negotiate leaving some of the more valuable and fragile items behind for my husband and I to move, which drastically brought the quote down to where it originally was. Beware! I would not recommend this company to anyone! Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this company's BS. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company. DO not use. Do not use. Do not use. I have been going back and forth with this awful company for 26 days now. They damaged my leather couches during my move earlier this month and are refusing to pay for them. But instead of just saying that from teh beginning they've wasted hours of my time running in circles around me. Enough is enough. I've filed a BBB claim but want others to know that there are plenty of other moving companies out there that act in good faith - THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. For our own sanity, do not go with this company. They've insulted me, wasted my time and are now telling me their "Taking back their offer" to fix damage that THEY HAVE CAUSED. Disgusting. Email from Kelly Reed at EZ Movers who i've had more than 54 email exchanges with and at least three phone conversations and she still has done NOTHING to resolve my claim. Why are you wasting my time, Kelly? ANd now are threatning me? PLease note that the damage they ahve cuased is $1,200. THey are offering me $12.l Ms. Depaola, I went above and beyond for you and got a huge repair amount approved. According to our contract, we owe you $12.00 and that is our offer to you at this point. Since nothing we do is acceptable, we are going back to our original offer. I attached the original conclusion that was offered by Natalia in our claims department here. I am sorry to that you feel the way you do and if you would like to dispute this, please find AMSA's information below: AMSA1611 Duke St., Alexandria, VA 22314-3482http://www.promover.org/content.asp?contentid=982 read more

DO NOT SHIP WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! I shipped items for a long distance move back in June and I have had several problems already including the fact that my furniture has yet to arrive. 1) when booking the move, I asked several of the employees approximately how long from the earliest delivery date are items usually delivered. I selected my earliest delivery date based on the information I received (I was moving from Illinois to California but was going to in New York for one week in between), expecting to receive my items no more than a week from the earliest delivery date especially considering that I was shipping a small amount of items and that there was about a 1 week gap between the pickup date and the earliest delivery date. My items did not leave Chicago until nearly a month later. 2) when the movers came to pick up my items, the inventory list they had did not match the one I submitted and received confirmation on (items were missing from their inventory list). I also had less items than I initially booked for. However, I was still charged an additional $300 for items that should have already been included and despite me having fewer items than initially planned or else they would not take my items. 3) My items have finally shipped, over a month after they were picked up, and the driver is now telling me the earliest my items will be delivered is Friday July 27th. Based on the 15 business day guarantee, my items will be very late and based on the information I initially received, my items are several weeks late. read more

I really thankful that one of my friends recommended me E-Z Movers for my local move to Chicago. E-Z Movers did an exceptional job even though some of the circumstances were not helping. For example, the movers could not park their truck because of the parking regulations in the neighborhood I moved to. Also, it was a rainy day. So in addition to what movers usually need to take care of, my movers needed to make sure that my stuff did not get wet. I should say that they did a really good job! You should see how carefully and professionally they packed furniture, glass, and other items! At first, I was going to pack my stuff by myself. But the movers said that the chances that some of the items might get damaged are pretty high. So I decided to listen to their advice and get my stuff packed professionally. It was a smart decision since everything was delivered in a perfect condition. I should also say that sales and customer service representatives are really nice at E-Z Movers. I called them up a couple of times to specify some details regarding my move, and they returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. I appreciate the fact that they asked about my requirements first, and only then tried to sell me services that would fit my requirements best. I would definitely recommend E-Z Movers to people looking for reliable movers for local moves. You will like the quality of their services as well as rates. By the way, the estimate they gave me was pretty close to the price I actually paid. read more

So not only did I have a horrible experience with EZ Movers, one of my friends did as well. I normally never post reviews on Yelp (in fact this is my first one), but I felt that this was necessary after my experience. So, first off they didn't send enough movers for my move. Only 1 guy showed up and it took him 5 hours to move a small apartment. Next, upon delivery I noticed my flat screen TV was cracked. I couldn't believe it. It was a brand new Samsung, and after weeks of filling out paper work and complaining, they only offered me $35 for it - which is a number based on the WEIGHT of the item (as if the weight of a TV quantifies the actual value of it). Besides that, the customer service was rude and short with me. They took a long time to respond, and I never felt that they were taking me seriously or addressing my issues in a timely manner. Finally, and this is by far the worst, they lost my $900 recliner. Yep, they are claiming they don't have it and never took it. And they are not reimbursing me for it. I was shocked and appalled that they would just claim I was making this story up. The item is listed on the inventory, but it was listed as a "Chair" instead of a recliner, so they are only willing to reimburse me for a standard kitchen table chair which costs about $30 in their estimate. Unbelievable. I'm beyond frustrated. NEVER use this company. read more
