It is easy to park and come into city hall. The area around the building is always clean and tidy. Inside the building is clean and the floors are shining. I hope more Portsmouth citizens take advantage of visiting their City Hall. I found that the workers love to interact with people in person and it helps me explain what I am here for with visual clues. People are better than clicks on a computer. My visit was short but I accomplished everything I came in to do.

Here's the service I was provided; Me- this property tax bill is incorrect because my vehicle hasn't been registered in Portsmouth for 2 months. Them- you need to go to the commissioner of revenue property tax line. I'm trying to pay you only the amount I owe & prorating that amount is beyond your ability so I have to go wait in ANOTHER line. I think I'll run some errands & circle back in an hour when aim less likely to get thrown out of City Hall.

Andrea and Wanda were angels. They pointed me in the right direction and sent me to the City Hall around the corner to get proof of my move. They were so patient, warm and friendly and at the end of the day they were able to fix the issue and help me finally get a toll pass to avoid any future mix ups. This location doesn't do IDs, but they do titles, registration, license plates at least. (Refer to pic) (Everyone that parked there that day got a ticket as I saw the parking ticket guy gladly giving every car parked a ticket. May be he need to learn to read his own sign first?) So be careful if you park anywhere downtown because they obviously don't know how to write clear signs nor will they accept their fault for doing so. Not to mention, there is absolutely nothing to see in the downtown area to begin with so don't bother visiting. This toll road is also unnecessary, you don't save enough time to justify the hassle.

Great way to grab some…read moreelevation during a walk, run or bike There's also a very nice park with restrooms a fishing pier with a bait shop and snack bar and a large boat launch check out the Facebook page and the City Page for different events they have there. Parking is free and plentiful the pathway is advertised to be open from sunrise to sunset but I've never been yelled at for being there early in the morning. Also worth noting the fishing pier does not require a fishing license if you want to use it.
