They don't tell you that they'll raise your rent to "market rate" when they gladly take your money when you first rent a unit. Extra space storage is a huge scam!!! Do not rent here at this facility... The facility recently renovated the property and put in new units in a majority of the parking spots. Slowly over the years they've gotten rid of 80% of the on-site parking. Management has also recently implemented new hours. There is no visiting your unit after 6 PM on weekdays and Saturdays or after 4 PM on Sundays and opens each day at 7 AM. Try visiting those hours if you have a job. They give you some nonsense about security for hours change. They recently have added a security guard from 6 AM to 12 PM daily. Why not move the security guard into the evening, when no one working in the office, so they can extend the hours at night? The management gave less than 24 hours' notice for the changing hours. I own an events company. The front staff, particularly the gentleman is incredibly rude and condescending. I had five boxes delivered for the first time in over four years. I had recently changed the lock to my door and failed to give them a new key.. front office manager called me 3 times and was incredibly rude.. he called me to inform me of a delivery and I asked them to hold the boxes for 72 hours as I was out of town, He informed me that they would reject all shipments in the future if I didn't give them a lock code and could not hold my boxes because of my contact and some audit. 10 years of faithful renting and they cannot hold five boxes for 72 hours in four years? I had to beg them to hold into the boxes. When I told him, he didn't have to worry about rejecting my further deliveries because I would be moving on the first. He said that is perfect. Perfect? I've spent over $75,000 in 10 years on storage rental and my moving is perfect for you.L? This place is a nightmare and I've been a member of this facility for 10 years and I'm moving across the street. Trash is a no-no as the facility is locked and you have to tell them exactly what you're placing in the trashcan to get access. The list is endless of nonsense rules. read more

Our storage unit was broken into on Thursday, December 8th around 5:30 am. My wife and I were not notified of the robbery until Saturday, December 10th, around 11 am. Several of our items were stolen, all sentimental pieces and they destroyed our unit as you can see in the photo. We were not the only unit broken into, as we know one person's unit was robbed of a wagon and several other units appeared to be pried open with a crowbar. From what we were told, there was only one thief. The manager was very helpful during our time there, but we wish staff would have informed us sooner of the incident. Over 48 hours is ridiculous. From our own person experience, we cannot recommend this facility and all who do have any items here, please leave or at least pull out your sentimental pieces. read more

The team here is always very friendly and I love how clean the facility is. I forgot my knife to cut open some boxes and the folks in the office are there to help. Entering and exiting is very simple too. Usually, some places make you enter a pin when entering and enter a pin when exiting. They'll charge you a fee if you don't enter a pin before exiting. I arrived at my storage unit with my movers, who soon after told me that they would not be able to get my furniture into the unit to be stored due to the way the unit door was oriented in the building/ with a water pipe above. Amaya was on site and immediately stepped up to help when I went to talk to him. Once the movers tried and confirmed the furniture wouldn't fit, Amaya talked over my options with me and very quickly assuaged my anxieties and found me a unit that was smaller but that the movers were able to fit the furniture into. I'm so thankful for Amaya's efficient help with this issue as it would have been a BIG problem if he hadn't been on site and knew what my options were. He helped answer all of my questions and get me in and out and on my way super quickly, easily crediting my account since I had moved into a smaller unit and helping me to update the paperwork. Very happy I went with Extra Space Storage on La Cienega. Also, I had never rented a unit before and with storing a furniture, I was concerned about heat. Back before covid it was at the facility and each unit was guaranteed sold in under a minute, now they put it up for 10+ days and always last minute it gets PAYED/CANCELED, also I don't even know if I'm bidding with another buyer or a bot, and how do I not know if a facility employe doesn't enter the unit and start digging ‍ no one sees them so I'm sure anyone would of thought about that, they should change there stupid ruls too once the unit goies to auction no lien or any other bs for a tenent to buy it back! if thats the case better not put it up on auction and waste our time!!!!! read more

By far the best storage facility. This is the third time I've been back and will only come here from now on. The location is very clean and secure. Had a very large space, corner unit, for about 6 months with this facility. Another mistake. Maybe not as bad as the one on Avery Street (Public Storage). But one would think if you travel far enough away from downtown LA, you will get away from the Skid Row factor and the shopping carts all over etc. In fact, It looked clean and perfect enough to do the job. The parking lot seemed big enough to maneuver a truck around in, so it seemed that it would be easy to get in/out. Of course, STUPIDLY, did not check to see what the hours of accessibility were so we moved our furniture in there, locked the door, with two locks and left. When we came back over the week or weekend to get to the stuff, once again, everything is locked up tight after 6pm so FORGETTABOUTIT. You want to get to your stuff after a regular work day, You mean, the work day that most people have to do which is 9am - 5pm and then YOU, Extra Space Storage, want US, the customer, to fuck up our own livelihood so that we can bend to YOUR hours...... while, you work a perfect 9:30am - 6pm day and none of this is especially important to you because you don't have to access your things after work like most people do.... or on the weekends and push and shove your way into a parking lot that is filled with a lot of other people trying to do the same thing. So stupid. SO..... after a few months of this nonsense. We moved everything out. And on top of this, the MOST disturbing thing was to find that we didn't get away from the "homeless living in their storage units", at all. In fact, one day, there was a plastic bag with feces that someone had thrown into the hallway and it landed very close to our unit so the entire facility smelled like human waste!!!! So, I discovered, that there WAS someone sleeping in their unit overnight, POOPED, and threw this contamination away from THEM and down the hall and closed the door. The manager apologized, but at that moment I had already made a decision. MOVE!!!! read more
