After many visits to Seattle we finally made it to an Ezell's. Got to this location on 7/6/2026, menu on the wall was a bit confusing for something so simple. We asked the girl what she recommends but I think there was a language barrier. We finally decided on what we wanted to try, I even asked the girl is the corn was whole corn on the cob, and she said yes it's "cornincob" she verified what I said twice. Sad to say when the order came-btw there's no dining area here, not sure if all locations is like this. We ate in the back of the rental SUV, and I got CORN IN THE CUP.... I guess if you say it fast with a Mexican accent (no racial) it does sound like corn in the cob, lmao. All in all, food was good, nice and fresh. read more

It's honestly hard to believe that EZELL'S Famous Chicken started in East Texas, because as a Southerner, I was really expecting a taste of home. Unfortunately, the food was completely flavorless--no salt on the fries good thing I keep some slap your mama seasoning in my home or this food would've found its way to the trash, the chicken barely tasted like chicken. The mashed potatoes were disgusting--like a hospital trying to make Southern food. And the desserts? Their peach cobbler was just as disappointing. The sweet potato pie wasn't the best I've had, but maybe it was the closest you can get. These PNW people just don't know what the South tastes like I was recommended this place from one. If you're from the South and expecting that comfort, don't come here. To help my southern people out give this place a try Emma's barbecue and for dessert baked from the hart!!! Using the mobile app to order was convenient. Counter staff was friendly. The chicken itself was underwhelming. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. It just didn't live up to the hype. Honestly, I would go to Jollibee next time or even KFC. I think the fact that they make a batch in anticipation of the rush when people get off work doesn't help. Seems like Jollibee makes their chicken as needed and it's always hot and fresh. This place used to be very good, but the service and quality have gone downhill drastically. the workers are extremely unprofessional and are so unhygienic with literal sweat rolling down their face, and acrylic nails. I have been a long time Ezells fan for over 18 years. I have been coming to the rainier ave location for over 10. The quality I experienced last time I was there was horrible. I paid 30$ for glorified high school cafeteria chicken. No crispy breading, chicken was dry and over cooked. Along side what appeared to be sysco frozen fries which were not the standard crinkle cut ones. I come to this place when I need a pick me up and was super disappointed when I got my food. Pretty good chicken. Pretty good sides. The chicken was moist, and in some instances, fell off the bone. The breading was crunchy crispy, and to my surprise, was still crunchy the next day for my one leftover piece. I wish there was just a bit more flavor to the breading, even a little more salt and pepper, perhaps. The potato salad was very good, as was the coleslaw. The dinner roll is awesome! The mash potatoes were OK, but not great. Just instant potatoes and just OK gravy. Even worse when cold. The BBQ baked beans were good and the mac and cheese was good. I didn't care for the peach cobbler, mostly because of the crust. One thing that surprised me was charging $4 for a 24 oz. bottle of Grape Crush! I passed on that one. Could go to the next door Walgreens and get a cold pop for half the price. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. I love Ezell's for what it provides: fast, reasonably affordable tasty food. I have refined my order to spicy chicken tenders (I think they are more seasoned than spicy), Mac and cheese and baked beans on the side and I always get the homemade fried okra. I absolutely love the Mac n cheese. Those are the best things on the menu IMO and it's always ready for pick up quickly. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in today for a 3 piece all white meat spicy dinner, and from the moment I walked in, the older woman putting orders in bags was incredibly rude to me. I asked for honey and hot sauce, she scolded me and said I had to pay extra. I was fine with that, but she wouldn't even put honey in my bag without telling me again that i needed to pay extra. Which i did. I made it home only to find that she didnt even give me the all white 3 piece spicy that i asked for while she was standing right there and heard me say it. She actually gave me a leg, thigh, and breast, and it wasnt even spicy. This will be my last visit to ezell's. They've been going downhill in quality and customer service for years now, which is really sad to see. I am born and rasied in Seattle, and been enjoying Ezell's chicken for 30 + years. This particular location was nothing out of the ordinary - the service was nice and they even provided us with extra utensils when we asked for it. There is a parking lot so it is easy to park and pick up food to-go. Even though this is Oprah's favored fried chicken - I would say it's nothing out of the ordinary. I definitely like Popeyes better. We had the mashed potatoes, fried chicken (spicy and non-spicy), and the rolls. The tenders themselves were a soggy mess and honestly you're better off getting chicken tenders from your local Albertsons or Safeway. This was the most overhyped and overrated chicken place I've ever been to. The mac and cheese side I got was awful and barely had any cheese at all. A toddler with no experience of the outside world, no understanding of mac and cheese aside knowing the name could do a better job making it. Went in, two youths in sight looking busy. The said nothing until I inquired about ordering. At this point, I was advised that they were closed .. lights on, signs lit, I guess it's a joke ... like the old Candid Camera show ... So why not wave me off, turn off the sign, or inform me immediately that they were closed for business. Been a while since I had Ezell's famous chicken, mainly because there is always a huge line at the location near my house. Today I happened to drive by this location near Rainier Ave, and boy was I surprised. This is a to go only location, so it was no line at all. Lady worked at the counter was friendly, quickly took my order and a short wait later, I walked out with 24 pieces of goodness. I got half and half so everyone can get their favorite flavors. Thanks Kimberly (?) for working for our continued business. We have missed items in every delivery order. Today I ordered only 2 3-piece meals & 1 lb of gizzards. Nothing special. But we received only one meal & the gizzards. I arranged for a credit with DoorDash. I was going to leave it at that but decided to call the restaurant. I spoke with the acting manager. She suggested I put the order back through and in the process said out loud that I would still have to pay an extra $5 in fees and taxes. She asked what I would like to compensate me for my inconvenience. I said peach cobbler. When my order came, we were more than compensated. We received a box of chicken, two cobblers, & a large order of fries. It sometimes pays to let a business know when you have a problem.
