Major Health Hazard: Served Raw, Bloody Chicken I am incredibly disappointed and concerned by our experience at the University Village Din Tai Fung location today. My mother and I both ordered the chicken soup. While eating, we discovered that the chicken wings served in the soup were completely uncooked and raw, with visible blood still inside the meat. Serving undercooked poultry is a severe health and safety violation that carries a high risk of foodborne illness. For a restaurant of this reputation and price point, failing to ensure that chicken is cooked through is absolutely unacceptable. We brought this to the attention of the staff, but a mistake of this caliber should never make it out of the kitchen in the first place. Management needs to immediately address their kitchen's temperature checks and food safety protocols before someone gets seriously ill. I expect a representative from management to reach out and address how this happened.

One of our family favorites! Consistent, quick, and popular. It's a place that once you sit and order on the form and pass it to the server, the food comes out quickly which we like. It can get a little noisy as the restaurant is usually packed. We got lucky and didn't have a wait on a Sunday mid afternoon around 2 at U Village. I do like to watch the window where the dumplings are being prepared. So quick! Din Tai Fung is known for the soup dumplings which are delicious .... But my favorite is the spicy won ton. The signature spicy sauce has a lot of great flavors in it. I like to use the sauce on the other dumplings as well. The most flavorful meat is the kurobuta pork in the various dumplings. :) Enjoy!

Did I come here after going to Dough Zone because I wanted dessert? Yes..., guilt as charged. We walked in on a Monday night and got a table for two near the bar really easily, which was great for drinks. We got a lychee martini, which is classic and of course, for dessert we got the chocolate XLB, the chocolate buns and the sea salt cream to go with it. Everything was delicious as usual and really good worth the extra trip.

I don't generally review big chains, but I am quite fond of Din Tai Fung. As a picky eater I have always feared venturing outside the box. I don't like veggies, and am a total food wimp. Even so, I am able to find a lot of "Erica safe" options at DTF. My favorites: Chicken Fried Noodles, Xiao Long Bao (Chicken), Chicken Spicy Wontons, Chicken Dumplings, and Kurobuta Pork Buns. My husband and mother ordered the pork chop fried rice the last time we went. The pork chop was delicious! (They loved the fried rice!) It all hits the spot every time! I am a huge fan of Din Tai Fung!

I love the food here at Din Tai Fung. It's always a battle choosing between xiao long bao, spicy wontons, Shanghai rice cakes, potstickers, or green beans... so we usually get it all. This particular experience, we had the worst service we have had at this establishment. We made a reservation at 5:45. Upon checking in, they asked if we were all here. We answered yes. We waited outside per their instructions for 5-10 more mins and got called back to the podium just for them to ask again if we were all here. Again, we said yes. We finally got seated around 5:55. We submitted our menu right away as we had filled it out during our wait. Our table ordered a beer, margarita, and sea salt jasmine green tea. The alcohol came out quickly but my jasmine tea took forever, it didn't come out until 3-4 dishes in. We also had to wait 5-10 minutes between our 2nd and 3rd dish. When we were done with our main items, we told our server we were ready for dessert. We had ordered chocolate and mochi xiao long bao with the initial order. Again, we had to wait around 15 min for our dessert. We were about to cancel it when it finally arrived, and the mochi part was underwhelming. It was pretty packed as the servers were running around, but there were also 4-5 staff at all times just standing around with their iPads. For an establishment that is considered higher end and us ordering 10 dishes ($200 worth of food!) between 3 people, service should be quicker and more attentive. At least the food is always consistent.

Oh my! What a wonderful culinary experience. A group of us descended upon Din Tai Fung after a film at the Pacific Place AMC tonight. We sampled a variety of delectables to enjoy family style. To begin, we were each served a tiny plate (palate cleanser) of pickled ginger. My faves? Xiao Long Bao (the renowned soup dumplings) and the String Beans with Garlic. Dessert? Yes, please! Try the amazing Chocolate and Mochi XLB and the Red Bean Buns. The service was attentive, helpful, and friendly. Tip: if you happen to be a bit hard of hearing, or value hearing your dining companions, request the semi-private dining area. I wish they'd lose the mega televisions up front, but that's a pipe dream.

Food is always delicious. Service can vary but always acceptable, sometimes exceptional. Definitely make a reservation so you don't have to wait long. Loud and noisy but that's just what happens when you have a popular place.

We were waiting two plus hours for our table but the host was able to get us in before we hit the 3 hour mark thankfully! The dumplings and noodles here were delicious. Highly recommend trying the spicy noodles and soup dumplings. The Shanghai rice cakes were good but needed more flavor. We also got the plum sake and it was nice and sweet. The spicy chicken wontons are tangy with a hint of spice. Tbh, the spice levels weren't super spicy. The service was quick and we got our food within 15 minutes. We'll definitely be back!!

Unless you've been living under a rock, Din Tai Fung is a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant staple known for their handmade soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao). My other favorite dishes are their Shrimp Fried Rice, Green String Beans with Garlic, and Spicy Wontons. I don't think I've ever been to a DTF that didn't have long lines and the dining rooms weren't packed with diners because the food really tastes that good, is reliable, and exceptional in quality. I'm not sure about all their locations, but I was able to make a reservation for my group of 3 people at their University Village restaurant in Seattle. A plus of this location is the ample parking in their adjacent parking structure and surrounding parking lots. Plus, you can do some shopping or window-shopping while you wait for them to call you when your table is ready. If you're craving Asian food and don't mind the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant, go to Din Tai Fung and see what all the hype and fuss is about for yourself!

I finally had the opportunity to try Din Tai Fung and it was delicious. I went with a large group of 15+ people and this location was able to accommodate us. This location is within walking distance of the Seattle Convention center. We shared so many tasty dishes, but my favorite were easily the soup dumplings and the chocolate dessert dumplings. you can't go wrong ordering here, everything was great!

Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 always delivers that perfect mix of fun, flavor, and comfort. The xiao long bao are delicate and juicy, the noodles are super satisfying, and everything comes out fresh and beautifully made. Service is smooth even when it's busy, and the whole experience feels polished but still cozy. A go‑to spot whenever you're craving something reliably delicious and a little bit special. Our server Daniel was always attentive too!

You always know what you're gunna get at DTF--good food, albeit at a fairly higher price (especially if you wanna get full lol). Got the typical things e.g. string beans, cucumber salad, soup dumplings, spicy wontons, Shanghai rice cakes, etc.. but this time we also tried their new mango shave ice dessert! Although we all liked their chocolate mochi better, we also all agreed the mango shave ice was pretty good + a great palette cleanser. Go chance it yall

We had a Friday dinner reservation at 5pm, and the place was already packed! Definitely recommend making a reservation especially if you're coming during the weekend or dinner times. We ordered the Cucumber Salad, Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and Pork Chop Fried Rice. The cucumber salad is one of favorites- so refreshing and delicious appetizer. Everything was pretty solid, but my favorites were definitely the Xiao Long Bao and the Pork Chop Fried Rice. The dumplings were delicate and juicy, and the pork chop was flavorful with great texture. Service was friendly and efficient even with the dinner rush, and the atmosphere was lively but still comfortable. Overall, a great experience! Delicious food, good portions, and solid service. It's a reliable spot and recommend if you're craving yummy dumplings and comfort food!

Can I check my reservation on line?

Hello Judy, You can check your reservation online through Yelp under the “Upcoming Reservations”… Read more

    Gift certificates-are they available?

They are, you can buy at the restaurant or online

How do I cancel my reservation?

You can easily cancel by calling the restaurant.

Is there a free parking at the restaurant?

There's plenty of parking at the mall. Free parking garages available.

    Is there a dress code?

Hi Richard, our restaurants do not have a dress code.

Can I bring a birthday cake?

Hi Rick! You are very welcome to bring a cake to our restaurant. If you need any plates for the cake, please notify your server during your visit. We hope to see you soon!

Does DTF accept any walk ins right now or is it 100% reservation?

Yes they do accept walk ins though the wait might be quiet long

Are dogs allowed for outdoor seating?

Dogs are allowed in the outdoor tent.

What's the current outdoor dining situation? Is it heated?!

It is not heated as of 11/25. However it is fully covered so you can eat if it is raining outside.

What is the average wait time to get a seat in the patio on Sunday lunch during covid times since indoor dining is closed?? Anyone know how big their patio is and how many tables they have?

Sunday lunch could be 30-1hr wait due to limited tables. Their patio is pretty big! Now they have 14tables with barriers in between tables. Btw they don't take reservations, walk-in only for outdoor seating

    Is the milk tea non-dairy?

Milk tea at any non vegan place is always real milk. That is unless you request soy milk. Most places will accommodate that because it is often requested. So always request soy if it is not clear on the menu.

Do they do anything special for birthdays?

They can put a candle on their rice cake for you.

Do they have Truffle pork XLB?

They do have them but we prefer the traditional pork only. Truffle didn't add a lot except price.

Do the servers come around pushing carts with food (so you can see what they are before choosing), or do you have to just mark the things you want on a piece of paper? We often don't know what something's called and would like to see the food first!

They do not, but there are pictures on the menu (you have a big picture menu and then mark off on the paper) and everyone is really helpful. They thing with dumplings though, is it's all on the inside, so they all look pretty much the same on the… Read more

Do they have things that are gluten free?

They have two soups that are, but none of the good stuff (dumplings / noodles). Probably some veggie items as well.

Do they serve shrimp shau mai or any dumplings that are only shrimp? Update: they do not?

No, Din Tai Fung DOES NOT have shrimp only dumplings. The only seafood dumpling without pork is fish dumplings.

    What is the price range?

I would say 25-35 dollars per person. Last time I went with one other person, I paid around 63 with drinks.

The restaurant was lively with a moderate noise level. A simple family restaurant that puts out authentic Chinese food. My companions both ordered the Black Mushroom with Chicken Rice in a stone clay pot. Their regular meal at the restaurant. I selected the Braised Beef Brisket with vegetables in a clay pot. The two rice dishes require 20 minutes to prepare hence my Braised brisket arrived first and bubbling hot. The flavors were rich and deeply satisfying. So good that my companions plan to order the Braised brisket next time. The Chicken Stone pot clay rice bowls arrived soon afterward. My friends enjoyed their dishes. Fresh tasting and delicious crispy rice. One ordered a Milk Tea and enjoyed it. Highly recommended for an authentic meal when you are in Seattle's International district!

A tiny place with big portion and authentic food…read more We came here on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was almost fully packed. I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.
