How hard is it to notice that I specified only DARK? And why not throw in some napkins? And ketchup? And freakin' UTENSILS?!? After a long week of a relative in the hospital near Ezell's I was excited to bring my out of town brother to try Ezell's after all the hype I've seen social and tv. DO NOT CHOOSE THE SPICY CHICkEN!! Normally the fried chicken is a fresh hot juicy not salty chicken which makes it perfect to dip into my favorite sauces (.60¢). They were sold out at 7:30 of the plain chicken and I had to get the spicy version as they told me it would be a 15 minute wait. I got it home and it was exactly opposite to fresh chicken. It was jerky dry at the edges, salty beyond edible, and the interior was dense, dry, and tepid, and just salty. I called to complain, never done that at Ezells. They should have quality checked the chicken and seen I was correct and sent me an offer or discount but instead they just wanted me to drive back to bring back the chicken. Wasted $25, what a shame for selling crap food and taking money. It's easy to check and not screw over customers. I threw it away and had a ramen with only half the soup powder with tuna for dinner. I was visiting friends and tried the chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, and a roll. The tenders really did not have much flavor and not very crispy. However, the mashed potatoes seemed like they may have been made from scratch, and the role was delicious. If I ever returned, it will just be to get the mashed potatoes in a roll. read more

Honestly I feel like this was a waste of money. The Cajun fries are just regular crinkled fries with very little Cajun seasoning on them. The regular chicken didn't have any taste to them and the spicy chicken tasted like it should've been the regular chicken because there wasn't any heat at all to the flavor. Disappointment is what we got. So pros: the food came fast and the order was 100% correct. The bottled Orange Crush was a delightful menu surprise. It was cold and perfect. The ok: the chicken - it was just ok. Cooked well but just not super flavorful. Dipping in ranch helped. The bad: all of the sides!! The mashed potatoes and gravy were what my husband was most looking forward to. He took one bite and said, Nope! It just wasn't very good. The Mac and cheese was so bland that I did the same thing - took one bite and said, Nope! The rolls looked like they would be great but they just weren't. The rolls weren't bad, I guess, but neither of us ate after two bites. The second bite was to confirm that we didn't like them. The texture of the skin was perfectly crispy - in fact, it might've been the most memorable we've ever had. Easy fix, but some thing we were a bit surprised at. The place is completely geared towards pieces of chicken, a bit of a departure from many spots that have trending towards a chicken sandwich. Regardless, it was very good. The place is very affordable. A three piece meal or something like eight dollars and came with a very delicious biscuit! Decent food at a reasonable price! I ran out of food and was really busy, so I decided to order in. As I was craving some Buffalo chicken, I gave Ezell's a go. I ordered the 1/2lb Buffalo chicken tenders with ranch, and opted for no celery. The tenders were pretty good! The chicken was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and it heated up in the microwave easily. The ranch went really well with the seasoning, and I had to make sure I didn't run out! The meal also came with rolls that were simply to die for - I honestly regret not getting a side of them as well. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the chicken was not very spicy or flavorful. It wasn't bad, but the whole point of Buffalo is that it's supposed to be spicy. We don't go there too often because of the price. QFC is way cheaper for 8 pieces. Even making your own sides and just buying chicken, you are out $25 or more. Not worth it anymore. Ezell's never disappoints. My husband and I always order for delivery on the weekends and the wait time till delivery is under an hour. I could eat their rolls all day. It's deliciously sweet and soft, pairs well with their chicken! Plenty of options for sides. I love their beans and cajun fries, and I also order fried okra whenever I can because it's so good to snack on. Hands down our go-to for fried chicken strips. It arrived hot, the biscuit was hot and soft. It stayed soft that way even after cooling off. The biscuit was damn near perfect. Not pictured were the seasoned crinkle fries. If the seasoning had been more uniform, they would have been perfect. As it was, some fries had much more seasoning than others. The cashier didn't do that here and made a face when we asked for a specific piece. Secondly, we ordered a bottle of water and they didn't give it to us and the person we asked for our water rolled her eyes as if we were lying about ordering water and then checked the receipt and finally gave us the water. Other than that Ezells is a good chain in Seattle for fried chicken. Just don't go to this specific shop and expect them to provide decent service or anything. read more

I've tried Ezell's twice. The first time was mediocre but I thought maybe that was just an off time so I wanted to give it another try. Unfortunately it was still a pretty bad experience the second time around. I'm sad because I really wanted to love this place :( I ordered the 8 piece meal with 4 bread rolls, cajun fries and mashed potatoes and gravy. Chicken- I ordered hot dark meat but I couldn't taste the hot part. Everything just tasted like a load of salt was dumped on it and there was no other distinctive flavor. Also the chicken tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. Fries- you could definitely tell these were not fresh, they tasted pretty stale Mashed potatoes and gravy- this was a big letdown. It just tasted very bland, KFC's is definitely way better. Bread- surprisingly this was the "best" item out of everything. It was fluffy and a little sweet. For the price I paid for the meal, I expected flavorful food, or at the very least, fresh food. I don't think I'll be ordering from here again. read more
