Even after I settled with EZ Pawn for their wrongful actions, the discrimination from specific managers has continued. After letting it all go, I was trying to pay on a loan and was shown prejudice once again. I was even asked to leave the store for no real reason other than they didn't want me there. The managers in this store are so biased against people; it's disgusting. For example, I've been ridiculed for helping the homeless and have heard discriminatory remarks about homeless, people of color, and transgender individuals. I was told, 'Why did you do that? I would have told them to get the hell out of here.' They've also used sirens on people, not just those standing by the building trying to get some shade but also those at the bus stop. This store doesn't have any real leadership; it's just a bunch of kids playing grown-ups, finishing their day so they can run home and play video games. The manager who discriminated against me in the video I took yesterday is the same one who was lashing out at me with profanity just because he was having a bad day. I'm not the only one he's treated inhumanely. He also made threats that you were going to be fired if you were on light duty, even though you were hurt at work and never compensated for it. Experiencing further discrimination in the store yesterday opened a whole new can of worms, unleashing the PTSD that I had suppressed from my time working there. This treatment is unacceptable, especially after the company had previously paid me a settlement for their wrongdoing. You would think a strong company would fix this weak point. But maybe the goal is to find the slimiest people to do their dirty work. Also, they have so much stolen merchandise being sold out of the store, and you should beware that the negative energy from it can carry over to you when you buy it. And don't waste your time taking your jewelry there; it's a total rip-off. For instance, they will pay you 10 to 30 cents a gram for your silver and resell it for three to four dollars a gram. The more desperate you are, the more you'll get ripped off. It's also worth noting that the store holds contests for employees to get the most reviews, offering discounts for good reviews, so you should take those reviews with a grain of salt, as they are bought and paid for. Came into the store with 9 very nice watches and 1 custom silver topaz bracelet worth $ 1,250.00.(have the receipt). Attached is a pic of the bracelet. The short, young guy I started speaking to told me he couldn't take the bracelet because it was too specific. Next, I showed him a watch and he said he couldn't accept it because the battery wasn't working. WHAT??? The battery, really? Are you a moron? if you had bothered to check the pin and push it in you would have seen that the watch is working. I pull the pins out when I'm not wearing a watch to save on the life of the battery. Anybody that wears a watch knows that. He didn't even bother to pick up the watch and look at it. WOW! Everyone that works here are losers! One of two things needs to happen. This is out of respect to the company and to the people that come here. 1st they need a fire literally every single person in here and get a whole new crew store manager in all even firing the store manager or 2nd permanently, closing down the store for good! On Aug 1st 2024 I came in to put a PS5 on layaway, I wanted to look at it but she wouldn't let me, I didn't thank of it at first until Aug 30th back to that in a minute, On Aug 28th we came in I came in for check the model number on the remote I waited in line for almost an hour with only 2 people in front on me with hardly anything. Came back that Friday and I waited almost an hour and a half in line with only 5 people in front of me just to pick up my ps5 to find that it was severely damaged then I realize that lady did not let me look at it because she knew it was damaged, so they let me choose another PS five and that one was damaged. I looked at two others before finding a good one and it had a really high price tag, but they did not charge me extra. Warning buy here at your own risk even worse come here at your own risk! P.S. This was my first experience making a purchase at a pawn shop. I was looking for a PS3 and this place said they had them for $200 and up and I really didn't want to pay more than that for a used game console. The place looks like a nightmare when you walk in. Do they all look like this?? Stuff is just everywhere. It looks like someone's greasy garage threw up all over the place. Customer service? What customer service? People were standing around waiting forever to get assistance. Again, is it like this at all pawn shops?? After standing around for a good 20 - 25 minutes we were finally assisted. I inquired about the product... a PS3. The guy said he had a 250g for $199. Score! I'll take it. When I got home I look into it and it's only a 160g. Ok, so now I'm a bit disappointed. I mean, it's still a descent deal since a new 160g is going to cost $250, but I want what I was told I was paying for. So, the next day I e-mail their customer service since there's no information on their site about a return policy. I get a response for an area manager who tells me, after finding out what store I made my purchase at, that he's not the manager for that area. He will have Steve, that area manager contact me. Two days later and I hear nothing. No phone call, no e-mail...nothing. Now mind you, the product is working fine, but if this is how a customer is treated at this location, I won't go back. I used to think of pawnshops as kind of sleazy places; thick with the aura of hard luck, and manned by vultures all too happy to lend 20 bucks in order to make 50. A few years ago, however, I needed to kill a little time downtown, so I wandered into a pawnshop and discovered their extensive selection of used DVDs at very bargain prices. I buy a lot of DVDs. I don't use Netflix because I like to keep my movies. Here were all sorts of good titles at around three dollars a pop. I was hooked, and began visiting pawnshops on a regular basis. Almost without fail, I found pawnshop employees to be extraordinarily friendly and helpful. This was true at nearly every shop I frequented, but especially at the Jumpin' Jack Cash at Sheridan and West Colfax. The staff was always genuinely pleasant, and professional, but never in-your-face. After returning from a year-and-a-half in California, I was surprised to find that most (or perhaps all) Jumpin' Jack Cash locations had been taken over by EZ Pawn. No huge deal, I thought, as I've always had good experiences with EZ Pawn, in particular their very nice location at 10th and Sheridan. What a difference a year-and-a-half makes. This EZ Pawn in the large Sheridan/Colfax location was now messy, and looked somewhat gutted. The selection was nowhere near enough to fill the store, and the DVD selection was a shadow of what it had been at JJC. Still, I found six titles I was looking for and excited about. I went to the counter, where I'd always been greeted with smiles and warm greetings. Something seemed different. Several customers commented that they didn't know where the line started, if it started, if there indeed was a line, of if anyone was planning to assist us. Four staffers were working, but none seemed concerned or interested in the increasing crowd at the counter. Two of the four employees were working on a troublesome CD player. Actually, one employee was working on it, the other was reading the liner notes from the CD she had inserted. Occasionally she took a second to look up from her reading and scuz the waiting customers. After standing around for ten minutes and seeing no customer service progress, or even an effort towards it, I put the DVDs back and left. This place is truly dreadful. All I wanted was $150 for it and after checking it out they agreed. I was happy. They were nice and friendly it seemed. Then came my next trip in when I needed some money. This store used to have decent employees that were thoughtful and friendly but they make it a point to get rid of them in order to make room for more careless and deceptive employees like the district managers and their supervisors. After five years of doing business with them, I learned the hard way they the employees are only out for theirselves. First they ripped me off by getting rid of my necklace without warning. When I put my bracelet on layaway to prevent this from happening again, they got rid of it THE SAME month I made my umpteenth payment on it. They admitted to having my phone number but NEVER bothered to contact me over a measly $3.00 they claim was due on it! Instead, they rushed to get rid of it and never botherd to tell me about it until I showed up this morning, Sept 11, 2012, to make a payment on it!!!! I also just learned that they ripped off a customer last Christmas when she bought a television from them. It didn't even work once she got it home and when she tried to return it to the store, they accused her of dropping it!!! The last two decent employees that were there who had empathy for customers (one was a store manager well liked by many) were fired! The level of unprofessionalism here is absolutely incredible. Dropped a guitar off to help a friend pay a medical bill. The guy who wrote me up was taking a personal call the whole time, said nothing except to point to the paper. Left without receipt and instantly called to see why. Fast forward. I am now getting double charged for "late penalties" and told I have to the end of the business day to get there (I live 2 hours away). Asked to speak to a manager, and when I explained my situation and told him I was going to go to the BBB he said "That's totally fine with me" and hung up. There are times that you just don't do certain things. You don't go into a restaurant 5 minutes before they close. You don't go the the post office in December or April. You don't go to the bar at 5 till 2. I guess going to a pawnshop on Sunday afternoon should be on that list. I like shopping at pawns usually. I find good deals on stuff I need. I am usually treated well as I am buying and not selling. Today, I decided I am not shopping at EZ Pawn anymore. I went in to buy a bike. My old one finally was just toast. This store was a jumping jack cash for a number of years and I found the staff very professional and helpful. Since it was sold to EZ Pawn Inc, the staff is now RUDE, unhelpful, and harried to the point of not caring at all. There was no order to the line, I was harassed for not understanding it was a free for all, and not first come first served. The truly CRETINOUS behavior of both the staff and the customers will absolutely dissuade me from using EZ Pawn systems again. The store used to be clean and organized, now it is dirty, shabby, and unkempt. On several occasions ( I went 3 times to make sure it wasn't just me being crabby, but it just got worse!) the staff were unable to answer simple questions about the items and seemed put out that I even asked. I like to shop at Pawn shops. I have, in the past collected some really awesome deals in the way of unusual tools.So pawnshops are familiar to me, and I end up in them often. The EZ Pawn on Sheridan and Colfax is far away the worst pawnshop I have ever been in. When first walking in the door, it looks full and you think there might be something cool in here. But as you walk around, you see that most of the items are broken or dirty, or both. Now, I understand that buying from a Pawn, you are buying used gear. But that doesn't mean you can't clean it up, and make it more desirable as a purchase, right? But the items on the shelves are crammed together, and intermixed in such a way as to keep you from seeing what is what. And those items locked in cases aren't arranged in such a way you can see the price tags. Normally,this wouldn't be too much of a problem, but since you cannot get an employee to open the case, this becomes a bigger problem. And the way they cram the stuff in, it seem like they specifically arrange it so you can't see model numbers or names, so you could decide if you even WANT to see the item. And the prices, SHEESH!! In every other pawn shop I have gone to, and the reason I go there, is the fact that prices are reasonable and negotiable. More than once I have bargained a price down to way less than what is listed, and walked away happy with my purchase. But at EZ Pawn, the prices are so high as to be laughable,and there is no flex, no bargain. I mean, come on, pricing a used and incomplete item at the same price as a brand new still in the box item at your local store, and then not flexing on your price, you would think they WANT to keep the crappy tools they pawned. And talking to another costumer inside, he told me they are one of the worst if you want to pawn to them, they give minimal cash and a hard time. Let me start off by saying, DON'T EVER BUY A VEHICLE AT A PAWN SHOP!!! Secondly, I just recently lost my grandma to cancer and received a small inheritance. Before she passed we talked about me getting a car since I'm a single mom and disabled which makes it hard for me to get around. So I looked for a transportation for 2 months. I came across a vehicle on 10/14/2014 at EZ Pawn that fit my budget so I bought it. BIG MISTAKE!!! When I was signing the papers they told me that if the check engine light came on, not to worry about it to much, but I only had 72 hours to get the emissions done on the vehicle. Found out later I have 60 days. When I left there I had to go buy a battery before I could turn the vehicle off cause the battery was bad. I knew that when I bought it, so that's not the problem. I go to leave my house on 10/14/2014 and the check engine light turns on. So I took it to O'Riley's auto parts and had them run a diagnostic on it. It showed 1 error code "P0171" "gas too lean". But they told me to try 91 octain gasoline and see if that might fix the problem first. So I did. On 10/16/2014 at 12:01pm I took it down to the emissions station at 2802 W. Mansfield Ave.,Sheridan, CO 80110. The emissions passed but the "check engine light command status: Communication Error. By this time the vehicle had started running poorly. At idle it would surge and when driving it would hessatate. Then On 11/08/2014 I was driving and hit a bump in the road and the car almost jumped in the other lane. On 11/09/2014 I got tires put on and that seemed to make the problem worse. I then took it back down to O'Riley's and that time it gave me 4 error codes "p0174 X2 and p0171 X2". So I took it to a mechanic shop on 11/10/2014 and had them do a full diagnostic just to see what was going on with the vehicle. This is the list of things that need to be fixed on it: Mass air flow sensor EGR Valve EGR Gasket Transmission Left and Right control arms Front Struts and tie rod ends Front Sway bar Links and Bushings It will cost me over $5000 to get it up and running again. The blue book is not even worth that much. Believe the other reviews... Awful. Terrible. Filthy. This pawn shop is all of the above. I go to lots of different pawn shops in the Denver area, because they tend to sell DVDs and video games cheap. This EZ (sleazy) PAWN location is the worst of the bunch. Terrible customer service and a ridiculous checkout line that seems hell bent on penalizing people who want to buy anything. They don't have a seperate line for people who are selling and so you can be stuck in line for 30 minutes waiting to buy one DVD. Then, when you actually do get to pay for your item, the clerk has to sneak off into a back room to get you your change and receipt. Im NOT joking. It's a bizarre and maddeningly inefficient way to do business. They also won't issue refunds or store credit on defective DVD/VIDEO GAME purchases, despite the fact that the return policy states that they do returns within 24 hours of purchase. It makes no mention of a clause for DVD/VIDEO GAMES. I learned that the hard way. And beware of the rude and incompetent staff. I'm not sure who does the hiring there, but that person must be totally clueless. The staff has no idea what is going on. I asked a guy there if they had any Casio G SHOCK watches and he pointed me towards some car amplifiers. The store and items are also dirty and old/broken/over priced. Don't buy any electronic equipment from this store in particular people! I've had multiple of counts of no-good stereo equipment AV Equipment TV equipment car stereo equipment they are not testing any of their equipment that they're taking in. their thinking in broken down equipment and selling it broken down also. junk in this store people that's what happens when you get a bunch of idiots taking in stuff they don't know about. And once again another high degree of laziness in the store people not wanting to do much but stay behind the counter and make sales without helping people on the floor. read more

I have been to this pain shop a few other times and always thought there service was bad.... But this time it was extremely BAD.... We were in line for about 15/20 minutes someone walked in as we were standing there and asked for assistance to bring something in... So I waited longer and the associate just went right over us and started help them.. I said we were in line before him and he turned and said if you don't like it you can go somewhere else... RUDE.. I have been visiting pawnshops for various needs/curiosity for over the past 15+ years and this location is by far one of the worst pawnshops experiences I have had to date. The place may looks newer from the outside, but after a couple trips I've found the staff to be unhelpful and rude (save some) and the place always full of filthy/dirty or broken items..truly living up to the worst of what people think of pawn shops, which is sad. The majority of staff doesn't care which is clear by the mess on the shelves. dirtiness of the store, and lack of assistance when seeking help to buy from them (and give them business). Price tags/details are hidden at times which makes me think they want to barter/steal me of my cash and be prejudice. I am open to buying used to save a little and don't expect much in terms of savings bc these are usually mom/pop stores. I usually find reasonable prices, and hope that some deals are better than others so my overall purchase isn't too bad - not at this place!! Their prices are outrageous and thinking that they wanted to bargain, I tried to engage by they were not only unwilling but rude as well!! On many of their items I could pay a little more and have it brand new w/ warranty/return policy, etc....BRAND NEW. Others I've talked to agree that this is by far one of the WORST out there - especially if you are trying to pawn. I don't plan on using them in future nor buying from them. read more

Worst shopping experience ever. I went in to find a fairly cheap car stereo amplifier. Found one that seemed decent and good price. So i buy it and pay for a six month warranty. Get it home and hook it up and doesn't work correctly. So i go to return it and they tell me even though i bought it and returned it the same day, with cash, i can't have my money back. Only store credit. Kind of fishy but what are you gonna do. So i take my store credit to a different location to see what they have and watch them give this guy his money back for a car stereo amplifier that he had purchased earlier in the day. So now I'm &$-+*# mad. I go back to the location were i returned the item and ask to speak to the manager. This idiot tells me its company policy that they don't do returns for money back. Then he proceeds to try to convince me that i hooked the amp up incorrectly, and shows me how it works fine. Well when i look further this moron has a car stereo amplifier hooked up to and dvd player and he is telling me it works fine. I had to walk out before i lost control. DONT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE IDIOTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. read more
