I usually don't commenting or writing yelp review very often bc its so waist time unless I super hate it or super recommand it. Recommanded by my friend, F and G has best hair stylists in bay area with the most reasonable price, for example, men hair cut only cost $20 but you can get the same hair style from highend barbershop which you might need to cost $80 from Japanese hair salon. The salon own by a couple, they both extreamly professional, they know what they are doing and very good at it, not to mention they are very friendly and easy to communicate with. I go there regularly for hair almost every month, they have not let me down once. More than regular hair salon, their services also included eye brow shaping and eye brow threading. Especially thanks to Mrs. Dan that give me such a beautiful eye brow. She is very dedicate to hair/beauty career, professional and considering about her customer. i really dont want let people know this place bc i dont want to wait in big line, but i feel even through they are awesome, their yelp review does not reflect how good they are, thus write this review to share their store with how i feel about F and G beauty salon. read more

Its almost one week I've got this hair style at this barber. I can't hold my opinion now I need to post this really bad. It's crazy how they don't know what a 3 7 split bang is. I even told the barber I wanted a 3 7 split with layers. She told me she know and at the beginning she was on the right track. But suddenly she used a comb on my left side where the 3 was. She literally cut a straight ****ing line and cut my 3 off. I have no words to say. Also the charge, it's not worth of $35 going to a random $15 barber shop is better than this one. Went here yesterday as a walk-in. I had been coming to this place for years, and actually didn't notice that the ownership had changed - it was a force-of-habit thing, I guess. So imagine my surprise when I walked in and the whole place was re-arranged! I asked if there was now new ownership, and got an affirmative from whom I guess was one of the new owners. And being that I've seen the ownership change a few times over the years, I thought, what the hell! I'll give it a try. The new owners have made a nice investment in the place. They've repainted the walls and added some nice, plush furniture in the waiting area. Overall the look of the "new" place is much, much better than what it was and how it has been for the last few years. Interestingly enough, for as long as I have been coming here, all the previous owners were Vietnamese, but the new owners are Chinese. It was actually pretty interesting to listen to the Chinese hip-hop that was playing on their sound system. I got a kick of it; Euro-beat with Chinese rap. It was not unpleasant. BTW, this is just an observation, and not meant to imply anything at all. As far as my haircut is concerned, while I waited for my turn, I was observing the young man who was doing a cut for a customer. The kid definitely knew what he was doing, so I was encouraged that my haircut would be just as good. When it came to my turn, I got the same lady who I think is one of the owners. She gave me a quick shampoo as I came here right after playing golf, then asked how I wanted my style. I told her that I wanted to clipper-cut the sides and back, but leave the top longer so I could comb it back and gel or spray my hair. Then she got to work... The deftness in which she handled the clipper and comb was amazing! She was able to eyeball her lines and got my cut perfect! In the end, I have to say that this was the best cut I've had in years. I love the cut she gave me! And after she was done cutting my hair, she gave me a quick shoulder massage to boot! How's that for treatment! All in all, I was very impressed with the job she did, and I will be coming back, and recommending this place to everyone! read more

I went to this place before for just trimming my long hair, I noticed they only do a mediocre job but the place is close to home and cheap ($35 at that time). Now the price has surged to $50 but not their skills. I went to cut my long hair short which is a more complex job than trimming and obviously that has exceeded their capability. What you got is not something that is only temporarily awkward, which happens because the stylist cut the hair tidy bit shorter so it would last longer. What you got here is BAD HAIR CUT. The bad hair cut has haunted me for months now, because it got cut too short and uneven, I can't even get it fixed. I'll never go back to this place ever! read more

I went in there to get a shampoo and flat iron.. I asked for a quote n they quoted 20$ for my hair.. my stylist was very meticulous she got my hair point straight and I couldn't be happier.. I gave her a 5$ tip and went to pay up.. she billed me for 25$ and realized it a minute after she charged my card.. so she gave me my 5$ tip back and apologized saying the haircut price was 25$ and she did it by mistake.. I said that was okay and I was happy with the service and she could keep the 5$ but she wouldn't take it .. not very often do we have such pleasant experiences with businesses so I thought they definitely deserved a 5star review. My sister has been going to this salon for months, and she always came back with the nicest haircuts, so I decided to give this place a try too. I got exactly the cut I wanted and was able to donate 13 inches of my hair as well. For an extremely affordable price of $25, my hair was cut so that the ends curled inwards and framed my face. After today, F&G will honestly be the only place I'll go to get a haircut. This is hands down the best haircut I have ever had. read more

I got my eyelash extension done a month ago. They have pretty good service. Within six weeks I can go back in and they will fix my eyelashes for free. I also dyed my hair there twice. All my friends asked where I got my hair done because it looks so pretty. The price is not that expensive and they are both nice. For some reason my hair is hard to color in light grey. Even if at first the color didn't look perfect, they redid it again without charging me. I love my new color and I will definitely go back again! read more
