Getting your haircut by David is like playing a game of Russian Roulette. To be honest, he has done a decent job in the past, but when he rushes, consider yourself cooked. If you have longer hair, he cannot blend the sides for his life. Currently, my hair looks like the yin and yang symbol due to the lack of gradient contrast from this previous haircut. It looks as if Moses parted the Red Sea on the side of my head. I'm not saying this is not a good barbershop. I'm saying that you need to tell David to lock in otherwise he will make it impossible for you to find/keep a girlfriend. read more

Quick haircut service. One can usually get in and out in ~ 30 minutes, without much of a wait in the lobby. As one of the other posters commented, David should probably trim the sides of one's hair more thoroughly as those areas tend to grow out quicker. David does not have or does run air conditioning, even on hot days. Still, he gets people in and out quickly, which is more than can be said for most. read more

Clean and efficient, was easily accommodated as a walk-in. Rachel cut my hair perfectly and even took care to do a touch up when she noticed a part that she hadn't cut quite right as she was taking off the drape. $35 + $5 tip. Went in for cut and color which I booked for after looking at cut and color examples, which are shown on the their website . I got my cut, but, he didn't have the color blonde, for the color, only brown and black as the neighborhood's majority are 80% Asian. I felt very disappointed. read more

So, as some of you Yelp friends know I had went through an emotionally hard time. My hormones haven't been back to normal, so I lost a lot of hair. I went to go get a haircut from the girl that's trying to turn my hair platinum. Unfortunately, she didn't cut enough. My ends of my hair was feeling rather crispy. I needed a last minute cut, and I was super desperate. I've driven by R & David Salon many times. David was able to accommodate me last minute which was great. I showed him 2 different pictures of the bob haircuts I liked. I needed at least 1-2 inches cut. I generally don't like telling other hairstylists that I'm a hairstylist myself, because I don't want them to feel like I am judging them. The ones that know I'm a hairstylist knows, because we've worked together. I was very surprised at how great this haircut turned out. It looks really good, and the women , Rachel who shampooed me, shampooed me twice. I didn't have to ask her for a second shampoo, which was great. Rachel also got me water to drink. She kept asking me to do I'm ok, if She was hurting me. She wasn't, and very gentle. I almost fell asleep. Generally, I have to ask other hairstylists for 2 shampoos, because I'm super oily. David did a lot of point cutting, and texturizing. I also got a blowout. It's fanatic I don't have to wash, and style my hair tomorrow. He also refined the haircut when it was dry. Perfect! Imagine my surprise at how affordable the shampoo, haircut, and blow dry was. It was only $35. I gave him $70 total tip included. I'm use to paying $65 and up for a cut. People please tip well. Someone with his skills SHOULD BE charging a minimum of $65 for a shampoo, haircut, and blowout. He's only charging $35. David is fantastic. David, I hope you raise your prices soon, because it's well deserved with those skills. Just one hairstylist to another. read more

ZERO star Unprofessional and lousy service - my kid showed up at the appointed time, but David switched another person to do the haircut so he could work on a pricier perm. BAD#1 Should treat a kid with the same honesty and honor your appointment. Their motto is listening to a customer's request, but they cut my kid's hair with little regard to the instructions. I had a hair perm there last Sunday. I'm glad they stay open on a Sunday while most salons are closed and I needed a hair cut. I saw their hair perm photo on yelp and decided to get a perm after reading the reviews. I was happy with the hair cut and perm. And what makes me decide to come back to leave a 5 star review after 3 days is the nice smell from the hair perm after I washed my hair. It's definitely unlike the annoying smell I used to get after a hair perm. They were true about using quality hair perm product, and I'll go back if I need a hair perm again in the future. Tough review to write because I really liked David. He is kind and caring and I would totally recommend him for a haircut but color was a complete miss. I went in for highlights and ended up having my entire head bleached, toned and over processed. I understand if there was a miss communication but there are patches of different colors which doesn't allow me to put my hair up :( And color has a yellow tint.
