Got outside immediately. Nice covered and uncovered outdoor seating areas. The uncovered area has tables with umbrellas to shade the sun. Karaoke night had some talented singers. I was impressed. Crowd got a bit sketchy as the day began to turn into night. Biker guys with club vests wandering around. One guy had a huge crescent wrench hanging out of his back pocket....I'm pretty sure he wasn't there as a mechanic. Where I'm from, that's a weapon. Beers were cold. Bartenders were busy but quick and efficient. Prices were reasonable. I'd come back but beware of the crowd as the hours get later in the night.

I made the mistake of waiting a half hour before going to the bar and instead of being completely dead with no wait the kitchen was slammed by the time they got my order. I didn't get my food until I complained to the manager 2 hours later and the burger was a hockey puck because it had been sitting under the heat lamp for WAY too long plus it had more salt than ketchup on it. The manager tried making excuses until I told him, "If your waitresses would gave done their jobs two hours ago we wouldn't be having this conversation." I have gone back since then, but I stopped buying the VIP tickets and I stopped eating food there. I just enjoy the music and buy a drink or two. They've easily lost $500 from me because the manager didn't say, "I'm sorry" and make sure that I got a hot, fresh meal that was cooked correctly that night. The location is beautiful. The management is second rate at best.

The bartenders can typically make what you want even if it's fancy. Plenty of seats at the bar, in the bar area, or in their dart hall. They have dart leagues throughout the week. Lately they started this new trivia thing, which is fun. Service is good. Drinks are great. Check it out if you're in the area. Nice people. Always good conversation.

All very well prepared to your desire. This event was our second celebration at Winesett House, always we are extremely pleased. We will return definitely for another future occasion.

Ambiance was down home worm feeling and I will definitely go back for those special days. Our bill was $109.00 plus tax and tip for two people with one alcoholic beverage.

This place has dropped so much in what they turn out. I was initially concerned when I heard it wasn't going to be Jack's anymore then I became excited when I heard more about the planned changes... the decor started changing for the better then it just stopped... foil insulation wrapped ductwork doesn't do anything for the ambiance considering the elevated pricing... the ductwork actually was dripping condensation on our table and we asked to move. The women's bathroom still has loose faucets that feel like they may fall off and don't operate properly. (This was the case when it was Jacks as well but seems like would have been one of the obvious first repairs made) One stall had an out of order sign. The new menu items sounded great and had my mouth watering but many really missed the mark and didn't live up to what I hoped. The fish and the coconut shrimp taste as if they've been previously frozen. The cheese sauce on the nachos was grainy and tasted like flour. The pimento cheese and French cheese plate come with store bought crackers you can pick up at Publix. Our service from Carrie, Richard and Eric in the dining room has been spot on. Nick and Kris at the bar are always on their A game as well. Stacey and Keith are sociable and speak with guests which makes guests feel special. Sadly though, the service high points we've had when the right employees take care of us certainly don't make up for food that isn't worthy of the price point. Ate there on a Thursday evening with a party of 8. When we got there it was slightly busy, but nothing earthshaking. Our waitress kept leaving and not coming back for long periods of time. Someone from my party ordered a drink, however it took the waitress so long to come back (roughly 20 minutes), that my friend just walked up to the bar and ordered her drink from there. Mind you, we were looking right at the bar and it wasn't that busy... We ordered our food and it took exactly 32 minutes to get it. Four of the five of us ordered burgers. I can make a burger in less than 27 minutes at home. When we got our food, mine was very medium, which is far from the medium well I requested. It took 32 minutes to get our food. I wasn't crazy enough to send it back! When the manager came over and asked us how it was, we told her that it took way too long to get our meals and our waitress kept disappearing. Her response was, "We're really sorry about that. We had a huge party come in the same time as you guys, and our kitchen was just slammed all at once." Funny, several of us went to the restroom on the other side of the restaurant, and never saw a huge party of anything, except the bull crap she was feeding us! Will NEVER go back there again...NEVER. My husband and I decided to try FM Don's, as we were fans of the previous Jack's on Marion, housed at the same location. We enjoyed the lobster dinner special, which included a salad, 1.25 lb. lobster with 1/2 corn on the cob and a small baked potato and key lime pie for dessert. It was plenty of food for each of us and, honestly, we weren't expecting much for $25/pp. We were pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the meal and level of service. Luckily, we had pre-ordered the lobster because by the time we arrived (7:00, which is late for Punta Gorda),they had run out of lobsters. The menu looks interesting with items such as Bison Meatloaf, Pimento Cheese Toasted Baguette, a Crispy, Creamy Goat Cheese with Macadamia Nut Crust joined with Apricot Coulis and Pita, Watermelon Salad, Seafood Soup, Chicken Liver Paté served with a House Mustard and Pickles and other temptations. ATTENTION!!! It's no longer Jack's on Marion. It' now F.M. Don's, and under new ownership. Chef Keith Meyer ( formerly at Trabue ) has created menus that are both scrumptious and nicely priced, something hard to find in the Punta Gorda area. We went there for lunch and I have now dubbed it my most favorite restaurant. The selections are uniquely gourmetish, yet simple and delicious, definitely more upscale than the standard restaurant fare, yet at reasonable prices competitive with them. If you like a burger for instance, Chef Keith prepares one called "The Essential Burger" topped with carmelized onions with just enough bacon not to overpower.Yum! You will find many of your favorite lunchtime sandwiches on the menu, but prepared uniquely accentuated with tasty touches only Chef Keith creates. You will not be disappointed. But there are so many other offerings on the menu, and a different Dinner menu also. We can't wait for our next dinner outing there! read more

We stopped in to FM Don's for just a quick cocktail but were enticed by the wonderful starter menu that they offer we opted to have their chicken pot pie which was extremely creamy not overwhelming but subtle which was paired with fig preserves. We also enjoyed the warm goat cheese that was served with warm Pita wedges. He will definitely be back here for dinner as everything looked so enticing. The cocktails a very imaginative and well-crafted. Can't say enough great things about F M Don's. The french cusince was delicious. Each one was better than the next. Had Escargot, Tuna carpaccio, Short Ribs, Salmon Dinner and the soup. A white shoe organization. The pricing was more than reasonable and so worth every cent. This chef/owner knows what he's doing for sure. The server we had was experienced and knew her business as well. I also loved that is is a casual attire - go any night type of place yet the whole dinner was white-table-cloth worthy. I just had the best dining experience here at F.M. Don's! The crab cake appetizer was fabulous to start. I had the sea scallops for my entree and they literally melted in my mouth. The combination of the roasted carrots, baby potatoes and asparagus spears were taken to a whole new level with the cauliflower puree. My highest compliments to the chef! This was a dinner to treat myself and what a treat it was! The service was excellent! Be sure to ask for Cheryl as your server. She will elevate your dining experience. First time visit to Jack's on July 4th. Very pleasurable experience. Our hostess seated us right away with a smile, and our server, Brittany, was absolutely awesome!!! She was very attentive and knew the menu well, answering any questions we had, and giving a few suggestions .... good ones by the way!!! The Seafood Sampler Platter was wonderful, as was the Mahi Mahi! The seafood bisque was delicious ... one of Brittany's great suggestions!!! We will definitely be returning. Love the food, love the wait staff. We had an amazing experience. The first time we went we had our seven year old grandson with us and Richard couldn't have been more attentive to him. The waitress was very friendly. The Caesar Salad was excellent. I ordered salmon and asked to have it cooked so it was not "glassy" on the inside. It came "glassy" so I sent it back. The second time it was good. The green beans were excellent. We had to ask for the "early bird" menu. It was more expensive than Jack's and did not include a salad. In the future, in the summer months, we would probably opt for one of the greats places doing BOGO. Pricing for "season" is competitive. read more

My wife and I were at FM's on October 15th. Our server was Shannon. I want to say that Shannon went beyond all expectations with her service. My wife ordered a martini and requested anchovy stuffed olives. Unfortunately the bar did not have anchovies but Shannon went to the kitchen and BINGO ! there was anchovy stuffed olives in her martini thanks to Shannon. Great stuffer ! Our community group recently dined at FM Don's and had a wonderful time. Due to the Hurricane Irma confusion, we were ended up being a party of 34 instead of 25. The staff did not even blink, welcomed us and served us wonderfully. There was a little wait for some of the food to come out, but that was to be expected with such a large group. Meal was delicious - I had seared scallops & my husband had a grouper special. Service was exceptional. I mentioned to our server Azaria that it was our 48th anniversary and she surprised us with our choice of a yummy dessert on the house. Menu is a bit limited but what is there looks good. We shared the fried goat cheese appetizer rolled in macadamia nuts and drizzled with apricot. it was delicious with the pita bread. We did not know about Faroe Island Salmon. January 12, 2016 was my first time going to Jack's. Great atmosphere and the food was fantastic. We were a group of 12 and there were no complaints about the food or service. Our server Richard was funny and attentive. After dinner we enjoyed the live music and the bartender Ted was quick and took care of us well. This is definitely a must go place. Creamy, whipped, and just downright delicious. I would gladly take that to go. Overall, it's a solid, typical steakhouse experience. Nothing over the top, but definitely some highlights. One suggestion though... please add key lime pie to the menu. That should be a staple at any restaurant in Florida, just saying.

My server was Amanda and she was prompt. I started with a cocktail - the mango tango- and asked some questions about the menu. I had never heard of this Quahog, which apparently is a noreasterner kinda thing. Ok. Chopped clams, bread crumbs, bell peppers etc. why not. I'll try it. Bad choice. It had a good flavor but I kept crunching on shells!!! It seemed like eggshells were in it, everywhere. It was horrible. I kept thinking the next bite won't be like that- but it was. So many bites were bad. I asked the server what was up- she figured it out. It's not shells it's SAND!!!!! They're not cleaning the clams well. Bro. Rookie mistake. This is why I never order scallops. I hate when they're sandy. And now clams?!? I have to stay away from clams?!? Sheesh. She asked if I wanted bread- I said yes. I wasn't sure if the bread was included? It is not included and is an up charge at other restaurants (The Perfect Caper is an example of that, as well as Ortigia). She gave me one piece. It was delicious, served warm and crispy, and the whipped butter was fantastic. I asked what the butter was a Wisconsin country cream. Clean ingredients. Lots of salt. Yum. I also got a small cup of their soup. Amanda said their soups are always good. The soup of the day was braised beef noodle. It was really good. I could see having a bowl of that and a piece of bread and being totally happy. I was torn between the meatloaf and the Portuguese stuffed shrimp. She recommended the meatloaf. Oh boy. That was a great choice; it was huge. Smothered in bruleed cheese and sauteed onions. Lots of gravy. Lots of skinny green beans and a big scoop of mashed potatoes. Wow! What a meal. So good. I got my leftovers wrapped up. I took a piece of the birthday cheesecake home. It was listed on the specials menu. It looked really nice. However, it was not my favorite and actually, I would not recommend it. It's not cake, it's cheesecake, but the sprinkles just ruin the texture and flavor of the cheesecake, which wasn't a great cheesecake to begin with. Skip it. When the bill came, I was surprised the Quahog was on there. Especially because it was so ill prepared and I complained about it. But whatever. I thanked Amanda, paid, finished my cocktail and left. Parking is on the street or in the parking garage structure on the road behind them. Bathrooms are in the back along the long hallway, I didn't check them out. They have a large bar up front and what looks like a room they could do private events / meetings in. They have a new summer menu where all items are $20. I think that's a good deal. They have a lot of great sounding items on their menu and I heard the shrimp Mozambique is amazing. Maybe I'll get that next time.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Portuguese dishes on the menu. We enjoyed the pork stew and shrimp Madagascar, such depth of flavor and a welcome change of pace from resort town menus. The pot roast was a little dry but a still a solid choice. The inside was a lot larger than it looked from outside. The inside decor could use a refresh but the great service helped us not to notice.

The interior was attractive, neat, and clean, with a large bar, ample bar seating, and plenty of high-top and standard tables throughout the dining area. There is also a spacious outdoor patio with TVs. Our server, Skylar, greeted us promptly and took our drink and food orders. She answered all our questions and was very helpful throughout the meal. What We Ordered * Lunch Special: Fresh-battered haddock fish and chips. For a lighter option, we substituted a salad for the fries. Food and Overall Experience Skylar asked whether we wanted our salads first, and we said yes. They arrived quickly, looked appealing, and tasted fresh. The haddock followed soon afterward and was amazing. It was large enough to fill most of the plate, fried to a perfect golden brown, and exceptionally fresh. This was not only the best haddock I have had in the area but the largest. Skylar checked on us regularly, and her service was top-notch. Her attentive service set an excellent standard. I wish other servers would take after her. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. Service was outstanding, food was scrumptious, and we even celebrated 2 birthdays of August! Pam Matteen and our little Donna Allen Thompson!! Of course, birthdays cards were signed by all and we sang ( as in tune as possible ) Happy Birthday to our gals! There was plenty of conversations, great smiles, and some of our girlfriends we hadn't seen in a while. Everyone was asked and they agreed service, atmosphere and food were all to everyone's rating of top rated 5 stars!

Played their final performance at All-Star Sports Grill Carl & Dora Dirrman selected All-Star Sports Grill as the platform to say farewell to their fans. Chris, manager, Amber our server, and the entire staff did not miss a beat!! Everyone who attended, fans, family, friends partying with the hot delicious appetizers, entrees, drinks both non-alcohol and adult drinks were on par! Burgers, pizza, wings, shrimp, sandwiches, wraps continuous flow out to their patrons enjoying, dancing, relaxing enjoying the renditions of The Last Re-Sort Band! First off, the wait staff were SO friendly and courteous. They give off a very welcoming vibe! The place looks somewhat run down. The music, which was awesome! (Mayhem SWFL). But it is performed in an add on tent area. Despite many fans, it was extremely hot. They might want to move the music indoors for the very hot Florida summer. The food is your typical bar menu. I chose the Rueben Sandwich with fries and my husband chose the Cuban with homemade chips. We split our sandwiches, so we each had half of both. The food was really tasty. Both sandwiches were done well. And we would order again.

The waitress took our order and besides being served our food from the runner, we didn't see our waitress again. My friend who has an allergy was served the wrong food and we never received refills on our drinks, water, etc. The food was good. Presented nicely and pretty good portions. I finally had to get up and go find our waitress inside at the end to get our check to leave. Would have loved to have a good experience. May try one more time.
