Well, that's exactly what we found when we discovered District 6 Fitness! This gym is exactly what we wanted. It's conveniently located just a block off Broad St. in Southside, just down from Southside Social and the Jump Park. The interior is gorgeous exposed brick and wood beam ceiling with tons of natural light. The Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment is brand new and state of the art. They have group exercise classes like Step, POUND, Circuit, Bootcamp, Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, BARRE, Tabata and more. District 6 also has certified trainers for personal training. We could not be happier that we found such a great place close by. I can pull right up and park for free just feet away from the front door too, no getting in the middle of downtown hassle. All of the instructors are so encouraging and motivating-- my on boarding before my first class made it so easy to understand how the classes work and how to calculate splat points, etc. I joined right after my first class because I had such a good experience. I love that I can track my progress and that they have challenges and different motivational tools each month to keep you interested and challenged. I'm not a runner but I love the results I'm seeing from this and look forward to the workouts each day! Another great perk is access to the locker rooms and saunas. I feel the entire facility is kept clean and organized. I love the big windows everywhere which allow for a ton of natural light to come inside. I also enjoy using the indoor/outdoor green space on the bottom floor which has a garage door that can open and close depending on the weather. Very nice during Spring, Summer and early Fall. I never feel like I have to wait for equipment to free up, and they do offer complimentary towels at the front desk upon check-in. This athletic club is on ClassPass and I typically just purchase gym time using a couple credits or I sign up for the circuit or conditioning classes.
