We had our plastic skylight replaced in August and are SO thankful for FAB Construction. I contacted Franco in early July for an estimate, he was able to come out the next day and gave me a competitive rate. My husband and I decided to go with him because we really liked him, trusted him and he had great reviews. He and his men came out to replace our skylight and were able to accomplish it in a day and a half. SO impressive!! Don't call if you have a "smaller" job. We had Fab construction come over to get an estimate on work we wanted done at our house, a bathroom and laundry room remodel, along with some other smaller odd jobs. We called and scheduled an in house estimate, where we explained the work we wanted done, and the person from fab said he would get back to us by the end of the following week with an estimate. We never heard back by the end of the week, so we called to get a follow-up. We at first were told, they were behind schedule and we would hear back the following week. Then later we got a call saying that our work wasn't something they were interested in doing. Having to call to be told this, after over a week is ridiculous. read more

Franco and his crew are amazing. Phase I : We started two months ago by having him change our outdated plastic cracked HUGE skylight. He is a certified Velux installer. It should have been a simple change out... come to find out... the old skylight was installed improperly... it had cracks, leaks and the roof was torn up. He never once changed the price on us. He refitted the opening, added more roofing, and finally laid the skylight in. It looks PHENOMENAL! Phase II: Texture and Paint. Our home used to be an old board and care home. The whole downstairs of our 3000 sq foot house was cut up into extra bedrooms for elderly people...lots of wheel chair access etc. We took the extra walls down ourselves. Once that was done, he retextured the whole house and trouled it by hand! Vaulted ceilings and everything. It turned out like a dream home in a magazine! the paint is high quality. He also added a beam in our master bedroom that is mahogany... i was skeptical at first but the final product is spectacular to say the least. He patched several holes and dents in the walls and did not charge extra. Franco has a great work ethic that is rarely seen anymore. He answers all your questions by explaining the whole process. He has exceeded every time line. we did not feel delayed or forgotten once. This is the first time I have ever felt that I could trust a contractor in my home and around my family. I had a leak in my roof in multiple places. I called Franco and within two days he had his team at the house and all fixed in one day. They went out of their way to check on the entire roof as well. They notice several broken tiles throughout, so they fixed all of them. The interior ceiling had damage that they patched up as well, textured it and painted it so it looked like nothing had ever happened. Franco and his team transformed our dark early 70's ranch house. For years we wanted to install skylights to brighten up our "cave", but the idea of cutting a hole in a perfectly good roof and the unattractive old school skylights scared me off. After enduring 10 years of darkness I again researched skylights and came across FAB Construction. I was impressed with the reviews and the modern Velux skylights FAB installs. We hired FAB to install 2 skylights in the family room and 1 in the kitchen. We also installed a light tunnel in the hallway. What a difference it makes! In addition to the skylights Franco's team Installed a new granite counter top, back splash, range hood, RO system, sink, garbage disposal and faucet. They also upgraded all of the cieling lights to new LED fixtures that are awesome and removed a very 70"s wetbar and made it look like it was never there. The remote control operation of the skylights is nice, window open and close and blinds open and close We like to close the blinds (briefly) just to remind us of why we put the skylights in. After researching on the internet for local companies I decided to call FAB Construction for the replacement of my 30 something skylight in my kitchen. I noticed it had cracks from being plastic so I decided it needed to go! My first call was to Franco who I found out was the President of the company , what a pleasant surprise. He was very courteous on the phone and explained what I needed to know about replacement including a fair price for the replacement of the skylight. I told him that I wanted to replace the skylight and have his company do it based on what I liked seeing on his internet page. He told me that I would receive a call from his installer to schedule an appointment to come to my house to look and measure the size I needed. I said yes, the following day I received a call from Carlos. On the morning of the inspection Carlos arrived on time and prepared to explain to me what he was going to do. I told him I really appreciate his thoughtfulness. Upon inspection he determined that the size was the same fit as the skylight he brought with him to my house. I was happy to hear that what was originally an inspection was going to turn into a completed job. In the matter of probably 30 minutes I had a brand new glass double sheet skylight that was not only clear to see the sky but was energy efficient to match all the other double sheet glass windows I have in the house, the old one was tinted probably from the 1970's era. I purchased a home that needed almost complete remodeling and I had a move in of June that had to be met. The construction manager that went through my walk through with me end of March was to start end of April/early May. He disappeared. I contacted three companies, one pushy not taking time to ask what my preferences were, one could not come out for a week and a half to give me an estimate. Enter Franco. He was here the next morning and notified me he would be late....I held my breath....he was 10 minutes late most would not consider that late. They were able to start a few days earlier than first thought, we were partially moved in and they worked around us. We utilized FAB Construction based upon all the positive reviews. FAB replaced two ugly, old bubble-dome skylights in our kitchen area ten days ago, and we couldn't be happier. The initial estimate conducted was very professional, involving Franco and his son Frankie., explaining in clear detail what would be involved. Wtihin a day or so, we were provided with a detailed estimate by e-mail, and the communication back and forth with Julia allowed us to tweak what we wanted done. Each time we made a change, an updated estimate was immediately provided. On the day the work commenced, Franco and Frankie plus one other worker showed up right on time. The project was done in a methodical manner, with the kitchen being completely tarped and kept as clean as one could expect. Our job was completed in two days, plus a couple hours on the third day to install a new part that had been damaged by the manufacturer, which Franco quickly ordered on day one and had overnighted. We now have sleek, new skylights which have opening/closing blinds, opening/closing vent panels, and precipitation detection which causes the vents to close if it starts raining. Absolutely FAB!!! We will definitely use these folks again later in the year to replace two remaining ugly, outdated skylights. read more

FAB Construction is GREAT!! After a short winter storm on a Friday afternoon we noticed a leak in the ceiling of our new baby nursery. I called Franco at FAB Construction 5 minutes before they closed on that Friday. I explained the situation to Franco and he came out early the next morning (Saturday) to take a look. Franco arrived on time and was very professional and nice. He did a full roof inspection, took pictures and explained exactly what needed to be done to fix my leak. He also showed me two other areas that major damaged and would start leaking very soon. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and they showed up on time on the following Tuesday with his staff and made all of the necessary repairs. Thank God I found FAB Construction because they did a great job and on very short notice, which was great because our baby was due only a few days after the repairs were made. I contacted FAB Construction about six months ago to discuss a skylight project. Franco spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me answering very detailed questions with the patience of a saint. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He sent me copies of his liability and worker's comp policies, and assured me he only uses employees, not independent contractors. Safety is important to me (especially with roof work), and Franco was very knowledgeable about industry safety standards and proper roof/ladder training. After receiving the estimate, It turns out the cost of the project was beyond my budget, so I had to wait for my tax refund. Six months later I contacted him again and he had the estimate stored in his computer, and was willing to work with further modifications to bring the cost down. I think a lot of contractors would have thrown up their hands at this point, but he was committed to helping me get what I wanted within my budget. I received two other estimates. FAB was in the middle, but I decided to go with them because Franco instilled so much confidence in me with his professionalism. We had to wait for the materials to be ordered, but Franco's projected start time was dead on, and the installers showed up on time. They were very conscientious of my property (floors, outdoor patio, etc), and took time to cover and protect everything from damage. Before starting, they discussed with me little details to confirm what I want, and then kept me updated about changes to those as the work progressed, which I appreciated. I have clay roof tiles, and they were very careful not to break any. They took pictures of each stage of the project and showed them to me so I could see for myself that the flashing was installed correctly, the "leak test" was performed, etc., then they sent me copies of the pictures for my records. They finished in one day (two skylights installed!), cleaned up after themselves adequately (not perfectly, but acceptable by contractors' standards), and provided me with the serial numbers/owner's manuals for warranty purposes. A few days later Franco called to make sure I was happy with the work, which is the sign of a true professional.
