Haircuts take around an hour, but coloring services can take over 3 hours and are hard to book. You can book haircuts kind of last minute but book coloring a month in advance if you can!

While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I could have done it myself.

I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

FIVE STARS WHEN EVERYTHING DIDN'T GO AS EXPECTED It's easy to throw a bunch of stars at a place when everything goes seamlessly, but I am giving Fabio five stars from my heart for being there with me when I came back frustrated. I got "Balayaged" from Giuseppe (phenomenal!) and then a Grade A cut from Fabio (thrilled!) and returned two weeks later for the Cezanne Keratin treatment (the healthy one - I have a small child.) I was having trouble figuring out what to do with the Cezanne the next few days; I had had Keratin in the past (before kids) and all I needed to do was wash and go - Cezanne wasn't cooperating as much. So, I called the salon and they immediately invited me back. Fabio patiently sat with me asking lots of questions - what product was I using? how was I applying it? made me demonstrate, pulled out the hairdryer to show me how to blow the ends smooth, even gave me a lesson in the anatomy of a hair shaft - the guy is a saint! After my "best practices" session with Fabio, I was on my way! I love the color, I love the cut, and I love the Cezanne! Mind you, the Cezanne won't achieve the same exact results as the naughty Keratin (at least not on my hair) but with a few tricks it is working for me! Point being, it is easy for a business to treat you like their best friend during the purchasing/ordering phase, but not everyone can maintain that dynamic when customers are expressing dissatisfaction. On the contrary, many become defensive, blame you, change their tone, make you feel guilty, etc. The fact that I didn't experience a hint of this from Fabio makes me feel even more loyal to him...which is why, i whole-heartedly give him and the salon five stars! I have lived in New York for 6 years now and I think that extraordinary hair salons are always hard to find. I visited Fabio Doti because I saw the excellent reviews on line and I am happy to be able to contribute my five stars to this salon as well ! Both locations are excellent, but the Greenwich one is particularly gorgeous with its amazing view of Trinity Church, its beautiful, clean, sleek decor and extremely comfortable shampoo chairs with massage. The coffee and wine that is served is very good quality. Fabio, the Italian owner, really pays attention to detail and to having every aspect of his salon be the highest quality possible. Now for hair and make-up...I got my hair dyed here for the first time in my life on the occasion of my wedding. I was naturally very nervous, but Melissa made my highlights so natural and covered all my grays, I was amazed how discrete it all looked. My hair was shiny, soft and perfect for wedding day. I have gotten updos and blow drys with Melissa as well. All have been exactly what I requested. Make-up with Cindy has also been excellent, she can do any style, and fast if needed. To top it all off these ladies are a delight to be with. If you want to chat they will make you smile the entire way through, but if you need to work or read they give you your privacy. If I could give this salon 10 stars, I would. I desperately needed a haircut and new style for my long thick hair. During the Covid shutdowns, the hair stylist I went to for years decided to take another career path. I am so glad I found this salon. Fabio took the time to discuss my hair goals and options. His knowledge of hair and passion for what he does alleviated any reservations I had about trying something new. He patiently listened to what I wanted and transformed that into something even better. The result was a complete makeover that gave my hair new life. I've received so many compliments on my new hair style. This is the first salon in which I was comfortable during every aspect of the services. The set up for hair washing is extremely comfortable. Usually this is an uncomfortable ordeal for me because I have to strain my neck. Fabio's style is also very gentle. I received a professional haircut and blowout without being excessively poked or prodded. All of this is extremely important to me because I suffer from migraines and going to the salon is usually a trigger but not this time. Had another haircut by Fabio today. I wanted to do something different from what I had done previously, and had a really informative discussion with Fabio about what would work and what wouldn't. Fabio patiently walked me through possible styles and cuts, showing me photos, commenting on things like the texture of my hair, the shape of my head and face, and how I would wear the alternatives we were looking at. And as he went to work, he patiently walked me through the things he was doing. In some highly-regarded salons, there's always this urgency because the place is so popular and because there are other clients. None of that with Fabio or his staff. I never felt rushed, and my every need was attended to. I had a great cappuccino too. Aside from telling me what was going on during the cut, Fabio and I also had a great conversation. He remembers the different things we've spoken about over the times I've been over. That's real, genuine warmth right there. The cut turned out to be amazing. It exceeded my expectations, and had a great balance of style and ease. Fabio also showed me ways that I could fix my hair and products that I could use (they have a pretty nice selection too). In my search for a hair product to obliterate the horrible "frizz" I came upon salon FABIO DOTI. Suffice to say that the internet can be a many splendid thing. From the moment I walked in, I was comfortable and well greeted. Had me a delicious cappuccino they way it should be made and served in real glass cup, served on a dish. Delicious. The salon and the stylists are anything but pretentious. Hard to find in many salons in the city. And it doesn't feel like a "factory. Clean and comfortable. Now to the rest. Fabio, Guiseppe, Julian, Ricardo , and forgive me I did not catch the name of he gentlemen at the front desk, are all gems. Lovely, friendly down to earth people. It was refreshing. Talented at what they do and gracious as well. The whole package from making my appointment to finish. I have yet to have Guiseppe color my hair and I have no doubt when I do it will be bellissimia! I first met Fabio at a salon in Brooklyn in 2008, and no other set of scissors has touched my hair since. A few years later, Fabio opened two of his own salons in Manhattan. For me, there is no stylist more trustworthy than Fabio. He knows how to create the desired shape and style regardless of your hair type (mine is dry, wavy, Asian hair that has an obnoxious tendency to frizz). His haircuts compliment your facial features while achieving the look you want within the constraints of your lifestyle (for me, I'm incredibly low maintenance and I do not have the patience with hair products or styling equipment). With a round face, Fabio has executed cuts that range from chin length to well past my shoulder blades with stunning, head turning styles. They say that you should bring a picture of what you want when you go to a salon, which is something that I did prior to 2008. After my first haircut with Fabio, I have the confidence to only tell him my desired hair length, and I leave the rest entirely up to him with full creative freedom. I had an incredible experience at Fabio Doti Salon today. I walked in feeling frustrated with my long, thin, straight hair, which had been dry and tangled for a while. I was worried I would need to chop it all off, but decided to instead treat myself to a high-end haircut at Fabio Doti Salon. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. Fabio himself sat me down for an in-depth consultation. He listened attentively to my hair concerns and provided me with loads of tips for better assessing my hair's needs. Throughout the haircut, Fabio and his staff offered useful instruction. Beyond gaining solid advice from industry experts, I enjoyed great conversation with everyone I interacted with. The salon's staff were all lovely, and the space itself was beautiful. The only downside of my visit was that I brought a latte with me and so didn't get to try their espresso. I guess I'll just have to go back again! Overall, I highly recommend Fabio Doti Salon for anyone looking for a high-quality hair care (and self care!) experience. Had a gift certificate and it was a fantastic experience. Nordia cut my hair, and first of all, the cut is gorgeous. She listened carefully to what I wanted, but also added her suggestions based on her expertise. I have gotten a few high end corporate chain cuts recently, and while they were skillfully done, I didn't feel that the stylists really listened to me or gave me exactly what I wanted the way Nordia did, and their attention to service detail was nowhere near hers. It was impossible not to notice the extra mile and commitment to an enjoyable experience on my part. The atmosphere is lovely. The chairs for the sinks simulate an effect like you're floating in water, and I now want one for my apartment. It is a clean, bright, modern, and attractive space, and everyone there was super friendly and accommodating, including Cindy, who I believe was the manager. Nordia was pleasant and friendly and we chatted a lot, but she cuts in comfortable silence as well so you don't have to keep up the chatting throughout the cut and can read or browse magazines, too. Mind you, my consultation was scheduled 30 DAYS before my hair appointment. She told me he was unavailable and also told me he could not deliver what I want for my hair (blonde balayage! Very simple!). She went ahead and CANCELLED my appointment that I booked before a trip. I begged for her to let me keep my hair appointment but she wouldn't let me. After going to this salon for 7 months, I am so disgusted with this type of service I have received by this girl Rachel. DENIED ME A HAIR APPOINTMENT with my stylist I have been going to for months who ALREADY knows what I want to do with my hair. Denied her company money and denied me from scheduling a hair appointment. Should be FIRED from her job. End of story. I begged to speak to a manager or Fabio and she said I couldn't. I can't say enough amazing things about Yexael and Fabio Doti salon. Yexael has been doing my hair for several years. I live in Jersey and was a client of his at a salon in NJ but when he moved to Fabio Doti i knew i had to make the trip into NYC because he is the only one my daughter snd I trust wholeheartedly with our hair. Fabio Doti salon is perfect. Great location and the service is absolutely phenomenal from start to finish--so attentive, professional, and genuinely caring about getting everything just right. I moved to NYC not too long ago and was searching for a good hairstylist. I tried this salon since it got good reviews and is close to where I live. Since it was my first experience there, I was paired with a stylist at random. I needed my hair colored and trimmed and Nick did an incredible job! Usually stylists are reluctant to listen to exactly what I'm looking for (ex. I ask for a dusting and they take off three inches or I ask for just my roots to be touched up and they darken or lighten all of my hair), but Nick was genuinely interested in making sure that my hair turned out how I envisioned--and it did! In addition to being skilled and professional, the experience as a whole was so enjoyable! The salon was clean, Nick was outgoing and maintained a calming, lighthearted presence, and I was offered water, coffee, tea, or wine to make me all the more comfortable. I just moved to the area and was looking for a good hair salon. I had a vague idea what I wanted to do in terms of styling but no idea what I wanted in terms of coloring. I've basically had the same color for years and have always been dissuaded from changing it. I talked to Alan about it and he was super helpful and laid out some options for me. I picked a darker color which I had always wanted to do but always been talked out of, and it came out BEYOND FABULOUS! It was everything i wanted! And I'm so thrilled. Then came the cut - I had an idea, and asked Ricky if he thought my ideas were doable and/or the right fit for my face shape etc. He said it was perfect, and with his execution, he was totally right! I had such a great experience at Fabio Doti Salon with Maria. She has been my hairdresser for many years at Tribeca Hair Studio and has recently started working at Fabio Doti Salon. The Fabio Doti salon is so clean, beautiful and spacious. The owner is so nice and welcoming. Maria does an excellent job and is very professional. She is always so friendly and warm. She does a fabulous job with the blow dry. After the blow dry, she curls my hair and my hair has so much volume and looks so fantastic every time I see her. The shampoo is great and the chair is so comfortable. Plus, Maria is so easy to talk to. We have been good friends for years. I highly recommend Maria to do your hair. She will make you look like a movie star!! read more

Found this salon through Google reviews, and went to their new salon at Greenwich street, which is such a modern and cool place. I'm a bit picky when it comes to how I like my hair (after a few bad experiences at other salons), and Elena was very understanding and suggested a cut that she thought would look very natural, but still give my hair more dimension and "life". She's just the sweetest and coolest woman, and the other hairdressers also started to chat a bit, and they were all so nice and funny. My hair turned out so pretty and healthy, and she styled my hair into soft, luscious curls and I honestly feel like a movie star walking down the streets. Fabio has extensive knowledge of curly hair. He gave me a fabulous cut that will be totally manageable in the summer heat and humidity! I trust him completely with my curls which is something rare for me after so many terrible experiences at salons that are supposed to be curly hair experts. Most importantly my cut looks great curly or straight and makes me feel absolutely fabulous and amazing His staff gave me highlights - my first hair coloring ever. They did an amazing job and it came out exactly as described and not even my mother could tell because it was so natural looking but made a huge difference. I've moved from NYC to CT but I still make the trip to get my hair cut by Fabio! read more

Fabio Doti salon is easily the best salon in NYC. - His locations is great, near Battery Park and Brookfield Place when I'm working. I am extremely particular about my hair, often opting to go without rather than risking a bad cut. Having my hair cut by Fabio was a pleasure. He put transformed my look. He knew exactly what would work for my type of hair. The Italian craft definitely paid off. The result was a completely natural cut. Throughout my visit I experienced amazing people, authentic Italian coffee and an environment I look forward to going back to again and again. I couldn't recommend Fabio Doti salon any more highly, everyone who works there feels like a family. read more

Fabio is the best! I lived in New Jersey my whole life with the same hairdresser since I was six years old. I was scared to get a new one in New York. He exceeded expectations. The ambience of the salon was exquisite and the whole staff was very friendly. I expressed to him that I did not want to take too much hair off even though I had a lot of split ends. He was so understanding and did everything he could to save my hair even though I haven't had a cut for two years. I would never go to anybody else in New York City. The way he welcomes you into the salon makes you feel like you have known him for years even if it's your first time coming. Go to Fabio! He is the best!!! read more

I travel quite often for lectures, for over 25 years, to discuss my work in cancer research. I and have tried salons all over the world; Tokyo, Zurich, Milan, Paris. I also tried a few prestigious salons in New York City since moving here 2 years ago. I never found a professional as competent and talented as Ricardo. He is incredibly insightful, and can identify precisely what one needs to look perfect with a low maintenance and flawless haircut. He is also exceedingly pleasant. The salon has an Italian flavor, thanks to Fabio's cheerful personality, and the atmosphere is welcoming and classy, without being overstated. It makes for a lovely experience. read more
