    Menu 12/2022 VERY LIMITED
    Susan B.

We were in need of late day lunch/early dinner and noticed that Fabyan's was open. There were just 2 cars in the lot for 330 in the afternoon during school vacation. We were quickly seated in the restaurant at area vs the bar, and we're the only people there. They filled our water glasses and gave us a menu. We looked over the menu and asked what the specials were. They didn't have any. The menu was extremely limited. We left a tip and advised the waitress that there was nothing in the menu that I could eat. Not even a chicken sandwich. This restaurant has been closed since before the Covid 19 pandemic. The food and selection had always been good, but no longer. We left and drove elsewhere

Cool location. Good food. I was impressed with the mahi mahi fish tacos. The beer seemed a bit overpriced. A pint of IPA beer was $12...more than at the airport! I'm always wary when there are no prices on the drink menu.

Meatloaf on Texas toast, Mac and cheese, cornbread, biscuit, pickled vegetables

We stumbled upon fabyan's by accident after leaving the cog way. This place needs major work. You cant even tell it's a restaurant, or in business, because the outside hasn't been updated in probably 40 years. Paint is chipping away from the building. It looks old and dank. The food was no better. I ordered pretzel sticks for an appetizer. Meatloaf, Mac and cheese, cornbread were ordered for the main course. The pretzels were brought out with the main meal, not as an appetizer. The pretzels were decent, but cold. The main meal was horrendous. My meatloaf was grey, absolutely burnt to a black crisp on the bottom. It looked like a pile of dog vomit. The only flavor was smoke from the grill. The Mac and cheese was good but cold. The pickled vegetables were refrigerated, ice cold. They didn't go well with the meal at all. The cornbread was decent. It was a typical sweet cornbread you find in these parts. It tasted like sweet cake. The service was awful. After the meal was brought our waiter NEVER checked on us again until it was time to pay. He even walked by several times without asking about our meal. We stopped here because we were starving and nothing else was around. I can't imagine stopping there for any other reason.

My uninteresting photo of a very delish meal.

Very good pulled pork with Cole slaw, and corn bread. Good selection of regional craft beers.

Don't skip out on the corn on the cob or the baked potato. Who knew those sides could be something you would want again and again?! Service was slow, there didn't seem to be enough staff as was the case everywhere we went in the No. Conway area over the 4 days we were up there. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and got the chicken sandwich (with tarter sauce). It took about 20 minutes for our waiter to return to check on us, at which time the problem was corrected quickly. Everybody else was pretty much done eating while my husband tried to quickly eat his meal. The rest of the food everybody ordered was good, the grandchildren were happy with their kids meals. Drinks were good, but again it took a long time for them to arrive. There just doesn't seem to be enough help in any of the food service establishments up there. Wait staff were running ragged everywhere we went. I don't blame the workers or the establishments, it's just a commentary on how much help there is available. If you go, just pack your patience and don't wait until anybody is hangry!!

The bar was pretty packed with patron. There was one server and one group of four just finishing up. We were the last for the night. I asked the server if we should just grab a seat and he put us at a table for two. The atmosphere is very charming as others have mentioned.... Beautiful place. Very clean and organized with a fantastic bar. However, the food was fair. Definitely the worst ribeye I've ever had at a "upscale" restaurant. I've had better at Texas roadhouse. My partner had the lamb. At the price point, you would have thought it would've been spectacular. The sides were room temperature at best when it came out. The potatoes seem to have sat on the grill for quite a while...very dried out.But it was not. Ended up not even finishing but did bring it home. The lamb was not flavorful at all. I'm not sure if I should count this to being there on a inclement day and on a slow Sunday. Definitely two strikes against me. Kind of think I would like to go back, but the price point is way too excessive for what you're going to receive. The server however, was on top of it. We were the only table, so what else could he do.

UNIQUE and appreciated. My husband's filet dinner was PERFECT. Super tender, lovely seasoning/sauce, divine pureed potato side, garlic mushroom bowl on the side. My roasted halibut was just okay, though I was coming from Boston and Maine so the fish just wasn't what I'd want in general vs those spots. Also they put it on a small "puddle" of sweet corn puree which really should be served OVER it as sauce to counter the dry plain fish. I liked the roasted okra but it, along with the bacon tidbits sprinkled around, they were a strange afterthought and the "blistered" herb potatoes were bland and just mush like not even as good as a breakfast potato. If I were the chef, I'd nix the potato and do a saucier puree with the corn and/with bacon OVER the dish and do a more fun flavorful (not an afterthought) veg like a green or a roasted asparagus, crisped Brussel sprout side. The mushy potato was a THROW AWAY and the bacon tidbits like bacon jerky cut with a kitchen scissor sprinkled around in some 1990s plating presentation. This whole thing could be a better incarnation of the dish! Truly.
