I didn't like this and was growing frustrated with having to re-explain my dental history each time to a new person. Very difficult to build rapport when the staff is constantly changing. While that frustrated me it's not what made me leave. What made me leave was the fact that I had a crown placed by them and it broke 2 or 3 times within 1-2 yrs. I learned the hard way that Dr. Sahani doesn't put a warranty on his work. This gets very expensive as insurance won't cover the same tooth again for 5 years. I left for another dentist who guarantees their crowns for 5 years, and they were also appalled at the materials that Dr. Sahani used on my crown. They said if a crown keeps breaking there is a stronger material that can be used and they couldn't believe another dentist would keep using a cheaper material on me when they knew it was breaking. I was honest with Dr. Sahanis team when they called me to schedule my next cleaning: I said, your office doesn't provide warranties and I can't afford to shell out $2,000 three times in one year. They just said Ok and let a patient of many years walk out the door. This practice used to be one that I recommended to everyone, but I can no longer recommend them and suggest everyone ask about warranties before getting any major dental work done.

Dr. Sahani is an extremely friendly person, but I was not impressed with his dental care or his employees. First, they did charge me or tried to charge me more than their quoted price three separate times. When I had my invisalign consultation, I was quoted a promotional price for the treatment. When they billed me for it, they tried to charge me for the regular price. I had to call and send emails before they said they'd honor the promotional price. Additionally, part of the promotion was free retainers at the end. When I finished the treatment, they tried to charge me for the retainers, and it took more calls and waiting to get this sorted out. Another time during a visit, one of the receptionists charged me double what she should have and it took days before I got a refund. I am not sure if the office if just disorganized or what, but I felt that I always had to be on guard to make sure I was charged correctly. Secondly, they sent me texts last minute to reschedule many of my appointments. Once, they texted me two hours before my appointment asking if I could reschedule because they were closed for renovations. Their office is on my walk home, and as I passed by I saw through the window someone being treated at the time my appointment would have been. This seemed so strange to me, and it was even more so frustrating because they had rescheduled so many of my appointments previously. As the final straw, I went for a regular cleaning/checkup and they took X-rays. They said everything looked great, but one week later one of my wisdom teeth erupted. Two months later, a second one erupted. I just had to find a new dentist and they told me I definitely need them extracted, and they were baffled at how Sahani dental could not have seen this coming. All of these experiences were so ridiculous and frustrating, I cannot recommend this dentist to anyone.

I do not have insurance, and thus the fact that it was going to cost me $700 to get two amalgam fillings (silver) that were going to be clearly visible when I smiled was not pleasing to me.... in fact, I started bawling in the dentist chair. (Dramatic, I know, but look, I've never had cavities before... it was all too much to handle at 9 am on Monday morning!) Luckily, I made some calls, and found out that Gentle Dental charges $310 for white fillings on the very worst possible cavity (ie, the entire tooth is destroyed).... so now it looks like my fillings are going to be white and someone around $450. Also, if you are going to need a lot of dental care, Gentle Dental is the main provider for Delta Dental, an insurance company that provides reasonable independent insurance packages. Thus, if you are currently going to Dr. Jean-Mary without any insurance or with independent insurance, I suggest you look elsewhere. ... and remember to floss!

She explained the process and got me to commit. The staff at the desk are extremely friendly and very easy to communicate with. Not only was every step of the process clearly explained to me, but the entire staff (including Dr. Gupta, his reception staff, and the dental assistants and hygienists), were extraordinarily kind and accommodating. I was very scared and anxious about the work I needed done on my teeth, but those fears were quickly alleviated by the level of care I received. I was also explained in-depth the cost and offered a couple of different payment options before my treatment, which was very helpful. The clean, modern office was very impressive. Dr. Gupta's aptitude for painless anesthesiology and his quick, precise work made a procedure which I feared for years extremely easy to get through. He also took photos of the before/after work, which was personally very interesting to see. They will do everything to keep you paying for more visits…read more Was mislead about when my next appointment was and was screwed out of my 6 month exam because the office staff mislead me about when my next appointment was and what my insurance was covering. They had me go in for an "emergency" that was not even an emergency, and waited until I was already finished with the appointment to tell me that taking a piece of food out of my tooth would count as my visit- leaving out the fact that I was scheduled for a regular checkup the following week. This is not the first time situations like this have happened and the woman who is the office manager has been extremely rude while smirking over these issues. After 5 years at a dentist office I really loved, I feel taken advantage of and screwed out of my regular checkup. Would not recommend this office. I want to be clear - The dental hygienist staff are amazing - they are not part of this bad review. And until this date, I had no negative interactions with this dentist office outside of the office manager making snotty comments such as "only people with money can afford to have teeth."
