I went to Faces and Names for happy hour while in NYC for work and this establishment is a very cute hidden gem. It was getting busy when our party of 7 arrived and we were escorted to a comfortable spot in the back. The drinks were good but the service was kind of slow. I would definitely give them another try the next time I'm in the area.

This is a nice weather review. Why go to a rooftop bar and pay rooftop prices when you can get fresh air and a nice drink. When the weather gets nice, this place gets a whole new review from the perspective of someone who appreciates nice weather. The service is excellent. As long as you have a group consensus, you can get them to open up the windows. It has the same feeling as a rooftop bar, with a closer view of pedestrians. It makes for a good people watching spot. The food here isn't the main draw, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. As far as low key bars go, this place deserves an A+. Even on a Monday. Jayne and Taylor will hook you up. They are amazing. I love this place and I think you will too.

Screwdriver for my appetizer! Grabbing a bite to eat in New York.

We came to this restaurant while in New York. We started with a portion of pretzel bites with mustard and some adult beverages. The pretzels were baked and not fried which is the sign of a good appetizer! The server was attentive to our needs. The restaurant was not too loud which was perfect for conversation with my husband especially after the hustle and bustle outside. The food was great! I thoroughly enjoyed my ground beef sliders and he loved his chicken sandwich. I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially if the line is down the street at Ellen's Stardust Diner.

We were looking for a spot to grab food before heading to Radio City Music Hall for a concert. This bar is located just a few blocks away, a quick 10 min walk. We tried the Fried Mozzarella Balls which my niece loved. Reminded her of a mozzarella stick. The Fresh cut French fries are one of the best, seriously super good crispy yet soft fries. I tried the Mini burgers without a bun, they were pretty good, but were missing the pickles that it was suppose to come with. I'm sure these are delicious with their potato bun, sadly not gluten free. The Mini Mushroom Tacos are fire, be sure to try these. They only come on flour tortillas, so definitely not gluten free. The food was really good! A great spot for dinner! The cocktails are delicious too! I had a spicy Margarita and a spicy Paloma! The service is fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming. Great vibes, played fun music, and pretty spacious. This bar is kid friendly until 8pm. I would definitely recommend this spot for food and drinks, it was an overall great experience.

Ambiance - 3/5 Plain n simple but clean Food - 3.75/5 based on what I got Service - 4/5 We stopped here to watch the super bowl as it was close to our hotel. They had superb bowl specials and a available seats so it was a win for us. I asked the bartender what was good to eat ans he said the tacos. They did not disappoint! Loved them and it was a GOOD! portion. I don't know what else is good but for my first time I was quite satisfied!

This place has so many drinks and plenty of options for a casual lunch or dinner with friends! The drinks are a bit on a sweeter side but really like the ones with the citrus. For apps I really liked the portion of mini tacos which is great for sharing and as usual wings are always a win. The fries and burger were pretty standard and filling. I was surprised by one of their cake slices that was very tasty and flavorful compared to the other two kinds. The chocolate was the best and richest. Service was nice, the lady who handled our party of 7 was really patient with us and made sure we got everything. The ambience is pretty relaxed and the back area is really nice and much more open than the front area. This place really is ideal for apps and drinks! with a group of 4-5!

Came here for superbowl, honestly super cool decor, good vibes, nice staff, managed to kill 3 bottles of wine between 3 people so we clearly had fun. Would def come back. Fries were a yummy snack for the table

During my friends and I quick trip to New York we were recommended this place by a staff member at our hotel. The restaurant was dimly lit. A nice size bar and a good amount of tables to dine at. We sat at the bar and was served promptly. My buffalo chicken wrap was ok not the best in my opinion. The fries were perfectly seasoned. I did try my friend quesadilla and it was very good! The drinks were good and strong! If I am back in the city I will definitely return!

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

It featured a crispy, sugar-glazed exterior and a soft, chewy interior, topped with truffle cheese and served with a truffle butter dip; the pairing was superb, and it tasted great both on its own and with the dip. For the main course, I ordered the miso-glazed black cod. The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? After finishing the fish, I was left with a plate full of broth, rendering the plate unusable. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

The Thick Cut Bacon (8.5/10) was sweet, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Cheeseburger (7.5/10) tasted good, but the bun was too dry, dense, and oversized for the burger. The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10). It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor.
