This place is HORRIBLE. So small that if you're over 5'8 you have to hunch your back so your head doesn't hit the ceiling. The Groupon deal is a scam. The fake aesthetician offered to remove my pimples for an extra 15 or 20 bucks- I have no pimples -_- the beds are literally right next to each other & there is no privacy. The "extractiin" lasted LITERALLY for 2minutes MAX. The whole thing did not take 60minutes. The fake aesthetician kept telling me I had dry skin and snickering. Not sure what was so funny. She was very cold and abrasive and it was not a soothing or relaxing experience at all. She was so rough on my face! Then-wait for it- knowing I have dry skin she puts toner on my face and out the door I go. In 3 minutes my face was crackig bc it was soooo dry and whatever cheap prosucts they use was making my face hurt. At the end of the facial the fake aesthetician and the guy at the front desk sit you down and they stand on both sides of pyou and demand tax and then a tip of 15 or 20% of the original price. I absolutely LOVE this place! Staff are super friendly and courteous. They must definitely make you feel welcome. I come here for eyelash perm and I must say this is the best place I've been to so far. I've been trying to find a good eyelash perm for years and didn't really come across any that I really liked until this one. The place is small but really clean. Their work is stupendous. Signed up for a groupon facial. The place is a bit dingy, 3 or 4 beds in one room, no spa treatment here. Facial was sub-par, felt very rushed and she kept leaving the room, no neck/back massage while mask is setting. I could have done a better job at home. She barely did extractions and kept pushing additional services and products. Def got what I paid for - a $29 facial. Actual cost would have been $80 - no way! read more

This is the place where I pamper myself every 3 weeks to 1 month. Emily will let me know what is the condition of my skin and she knows what is good for me at that time. I like the way she performing the extractions. Too many extractions at one time can be traumatic to the skin. I bought the laser hair removal package and after months of diligently going to my appointments, my hair is still growing back. There's a hard sell after each session of buy this or buy that. If you absolutely think that there's a bargain you can't pass up in terms of laser hair removal, I suggest you demand they sign a money back guarantee (and watch how fast they backpedal). read more

Ok, so I decided to go to this place because there was a deal on lifebooker. I noticed my deal was about to expire so I made the appt to get my facial done. I should have just let the deal expire. The facial was a joke. It actually made me break out, and the extractions, I can't even call them extractions. The girl barely did anything. Like why bother doing facials if your going to be lazy about doing the extractions. I do not recommend this place at all. It's in a horrible dirty place also. It was a complete waste of money. I'm sorry to have to report that I won't be returning to Facial Spa. I'm able to compare this place with two others I've gone to in Chinatown. Forgetting about being given a key, a roll of toilet paper and sent into the hall to find the rest room, I was not impressed with the service. I went to the this spa yesterday with my cousin, and I didn't have the greatest experience. I do have to say I did arrive 45 min late, and for that I can't blame them for the amount of service given, but I felt the way they went about servicing was very sneaky and manipulative, making us end up with a bill that was very unexpected. My cousin did a groupon deal that should have covered the basic facial spa and tips SUGGESTED after our spa was done. Since my cousin was on time, they went ahead and gave her the facial spa, but since I arrived late, they did way less work on my face, but again I was ok with that since I was tardy. At the end, the lady asked me if I wanted a face mask for 15 min for $15 dollars. I asked my cousin if she received the same mask, and my cousin said yes. Both the lady and I heard my cousin say yes and I went ahead and got the mask. It's while I'm getting my mask (my cousin has finished with her facial) that I hear my cousin asking explanation of the bill. I hear the lady explaining to my cousin that my facial mask is different from my cousin's mask, her's was included. I would like to ask 2 questions: if we both had the same groupon deal, wouldn't my mask have been included as well? and let say my mask wasn't included, you clearly heard my cousin say she had the SAME mask. Why didn't you correct her? You stayed silent because you know that would inquire an extra fee! Then lastly, the TIP!! I have never had to pay a MANDATORY SUGGESTED TIP IN MY LIFE! Are mandatory and suggested even supposed to be next to each other? a $12 dollar tip for less than 20 minutes of service! When I went to ask about this, the lady decides to quote fine prints from the groupon deal!! Something about 15%-20% of the deal, yadi yadi yada... Now, I am the type of person that would tip regardless if you give me shitty service or not, but to force my hand and say that this tip is MANDATORY was the last straw; I was furious! It even says on the receipt "tip suggested". And it's a TIP!!! for goodness sakes, what people do out of the kindness of their hearts, not part of a bill (not to mention tax was included in our bill!) To sum up: my cousin payed $29 EACH for our groupon deal (so $58).... and we payed an extra $52 after our session (i actually took out $40 because my cousin did do candle waxing, our bill was really $92). so we payed $110 all together for our facials = something we already payed for, then being duped, then adding a mandatory tip..... yeahhhhhh, I'm not going back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (I wrote this after Emily's comment, but I'm not sure if it was viewable) Emily, as I said earlier, I don't mind tipping for service, but a service-based business is NOT a place where a customer NEEDS to pay the workers, that is the definition of wages. I have already payed for my service, and therefore if I feel that you have provided quality (or even pretty shitty service), I have the right to say "yes! I will pay you, you did an excellent job" or "well, you did a mediocre job, but I guess I will give you a little something just for providing some type of service". (So that means if you go to a restaurant and you can clearly see a bloody bandaid on your plate of food and the waiter is rude to you for asking to replace your food, are you going to say " oh well, it's mandatory for me to tip this person, it's a place of service? Come on) You keep going back to the fine print of groupon and I have had groupon deals before and it is actually up to the discretion of the business to enforce that rule or not, it is not MANDATORY by groupon that you tip the service you will receive. If you are willing to enforce it, you should definitely let the customer know that the service they are about to receive is tip included. Now, me assuming my spa is already paid for, God forbid what if I just had my $15 dollars for my mask and just $2 dollars for tip? Would you have called the cops on me because I didn't provide you your outrageous $12 TIP for (again I repeat) 20 MINUTES of service? As we keep stating, yes I was late, and I can't deny it was nice that you took me in, BUT THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE THERE except my cousin! I can give you, plus or minus 5 minutes because I did do the facial, but please do not say it was 45 minutes of service because it absolutely was NOT. Lastly, thank you for answering my question, it definitely helped prove my point that of course you won't say a word, only when the price is right! Had a $25 french facial at the facial spa courtesy of lifebooker. I must say that the facial exceeded my expectations. They do require that you specify that you have a coupon, and from this I expected sub-standard service, but their service was very good. Admittedly, I'm pretty certain this was because they want to sell you more facials and entice you to return - but more on that later. The facial consists of cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, extraction (you can tell the beautician to be more or less thorough as you like), facial massage and a mask. The entire facial took 1.5 hours, and not the stipulated 45min but that was fine with me. My beautician was Ivy and she was gentle and made just enough conversation. Extraction was thorough and not the kind that you get with an express facial. I did ask her to be more thorough, so i ended up with a few reddish spots on my face after, but that's the norm for me. The spa itself is pretty well furnished. Not top of the line by any means, but spacious and well-lit. The facial room has 3 beds, no curtains. So, do take note if privacy is an issue for you as others will be able to see and hear you. After the facial, they did try to sell me more facials - a package of 10 at the same discount price. While they did try to sell, they were't overly pushy and as long as you are firm, you will be able to get out of there without any further damage, don't worry. The pricing is very transparent as well - my bill stated clearly and separately the price of the facial, taxes and tips at 15%/20% (note: taxes and tips are based on the original facial price of $48. the life booker coupon states that the original price is $55, but they were honest and told me it's actually only $48 - thumbs up for that). I did buy a few more facials - I personally thought it was a great deal at $25! - but that was my choice, and not a result of hard selling. Give this place a try, you won't regret it! read more

NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. the place is small and cramped up and watch out for the promotion of their products. I bought the lip balm that was recommended by the technician who suggested my lips were too dry. The product cost $16 tiny little tube and was wrapped by Saran wrap and not even legitimate plastic from manufacturer. Technician recommended me to use as many times as needed and I listened which made my lips dry and peeled. After my first review they contacted me and offered me refund for both the lip balm and an extra service that I bought but haven't used yet. I paid with my credit card and they told me they can only issue me company check with a condition that I HAVE TO REMOVE MY FEEDBACK FIRST. Also they said I have to bring back a hand written receipt of the service purchased which I find it weird because they also had a copy of that same receipt too. though try to compromise by offering mailing back the receipt instead of me physically show up. They did not reply, I put this review with a understanding that I just lost $25 of my eyelashes perm and lip balm refund since they made it IMPOSSIBLE to get my money back. read more
