I went in for my first time last week feeling pretty discouraged from a recent breakout from a dermatologist. I made my appointment online and bought the Yelp deal. We went into the room and she explained everything thoroughly and asked if I had questions. I got ready for the facial and here's where it gets really good! Sheila and I spoke the entire time, no awkward small talk.. She was really nice! Throughout the facial she explained every step. She talked to me about what she thinks is going on with my skin and asked all the right questions to find a solution. I was relaxed and feeling really excited that she might be my saving grace to finally get my skin back to normal! After the amazing facial we sat down and she went through this large packet with me that highlighted ingredients I should be avoiding, my skin type, and other interesting info. Soooooo informative. She ended up recommending a skin regime using face reality, they sell it there, and I bought it all. Once I left I felt kind of silly for buying it all but it's only been a week and my skin already looks a million times better! I made my second appointment right away. I went to her salon few times and my skin feels and looks great!! I'm impressed with her knowledge and expertise on skin and products. Then recently I went for a facial (at a place that shall not be named) for only about $20 less than Magdalena (I'm learning it's better not to be stingy about these things) and it was the most mediocre facial and I broke out as I normally do after wards. I had a Groupon for Facial Studio and overall, the spa and esthetician were very nice. I have what they call "non-inflamed" acne, so she did use extractions on me. I just have a lot of blackheads I was looking to get rid of. I've gotten facials before and never have 2 tools been used...so fair warning-it hurts! Afterwards, you could say all of the blackheads became inflamed and it looks like I have chicken pox. My skin was not like this before. I know your skin purges after a facial, but NOT like this. Igrang Maxine is amazing! I came in 3 months ago with non-inflamed acne all over my face, and it was even worse because of my sensitive Asian skin. When I touch my face, there were bumps everywhere, pretty gross. I bought two packages, 3 times each. And I was pretty strict in following their product regimen. My skin got very dry for some time, and I bought some hydrating serums myself from Sephora, and it solves much of the problem. Their products are pretty strong in terms of making acne go away, especially the mandelic serum and acne med. However, they could be too strong that you may feel pain from time to time. Just call them, they'll tell you what to do. Now I am clear of acne. I get small bumps when I don't sleep well, but much much better than before! I've never written a review on a company before, but feel like I have to because I was duped by all of the good reviews here on Yelp. A little bit of background on my skin first. I get hormonal acne, but have had petty much clear skin for awhile and now mostly suffer with scarring. I just had to stop using all of my products because of an allergy and broke out, which brought me to Facial Studio Magdalena. I decided to make an appointment at this studio for an Acne Facial and Consultation based on all of the positive reviews and am very disappointed in the service I received. My biggest issue is the fact that I felt like I was at the dermatologist's office. I don't feel like the aesthetician listened to my history or what I was saying at all and rather than tailoring the facial and recommendations to me personally, she instead just gave me the same old song and dance that she must give to everyone that walks through the door. She even recommended their skincare system consisting of their own line of skincare and home regimen guide, which was eerily similar again to what you would get from the dermatologist. I bought into it while i was there and purchased products since i had to discontinue use of all of mine just to reflect on my experience and realize what a scam it all truly was. In terms of the facial itself, that also left more to be desired. My service did not include a consultation like it was supposed to and the facial consisted of a cleanse followed by a mask, extractions, and another mask. Not much was done for the price and it was probably the worst facial I've ever had. This is not the kind of facial that will give you amazing skin afterwards and my skin now looks way worse than it did prior to the service. It is the most broken out it has been in a very long time to the point of me feeling like I need to wear makeup to cover it up. Save your money and ignore the positive reviews on here because it's not worth the lackluster service and scripted advice you will receive. read more

Extremely friendly and welcoming. The space is very clean. They were very patient and understanding. They also offered great advice on skin care regime during and after the facial. The products used during my facial smelled great as well. However, I went to the bathroom afterwards and there were a bunch of pimples missed during the extraction. I recognize that not all of them can be extracted at once, but it felt rushed and I had to personally extract a few obvious ones when I got home. Magdalena is professional, kind, and has helped me simplify the way I treat my Acne. I'm 31 and have battling with adult hormonal acne for 10+ years now, and visiting her is the best thing I've tried so far (& I've tried every treatment out there with derms, med spas..absolutely everything aside from Accutane). I've only seen Mackenzie twice and I cannot believe the difference in such a short period of time. I never had acne until my late twenties and since then it's been relentless (I'm 32 now). I have tried everything, including Accutane (which I had to discontinue because I was experiencing vision changes). I have tried every product and every treatment out there. I've been on various kinds of birth control, switched to a vegan/gluten free diet and got tested for every food sensitivity that could be causing the breakouts. I've been to this place almost a year now. And my specialist was Maxine Irgang. She's very professional and knowledgeable, knows exactly what she's doing and you may just have to follow her directions to get the best result. So far, I have no more breakouts, lesser pimples. Their products are very great and organic, my skin usually acts very sensitive, but react just fine with their products. I bought a groupon and went to see Maxine for an acne facial. I know everyone says they have tried everything...but I have literally tried everything. Pills, creams, step systems, every possible cleanser, doctors visits, etc. Now at 28 years old I still struggle with acne. Maxine was amazing. Not only was this my first facial where the extraction didn't hurt, she informed me about how my diet and makeup choices have negatively impacted/prolonged my acne. After about 5 years of battling adult non-inflamed acne after I had my son, I had about given up! Nothing is worse than being an adult with acne. I had tiny bumps covering every single surface of my face. I didn't even understand what they were cause they weren't giant pimples, just tiny bumps. I found this studio on a Groupon that was labeled a "acne facial", welp for that price it's worth a try (like the 1000s of other things I've tried). I've seen dermatologists who couldn't tell me straight up what these bumps were! When I went in, Magdalena told me right away that it is un-inflamed acne and explained how it works and how it happens in detail to where it all made sense! This was a first, and it gave me a lot of confidence to know she knew what she was dealing with. She gave me a run-down verbally and on print of of this I shouldn't eat, vitamins I should take, ingredients in products to stay away from, and a morning & nightly regimen to follow. She told me the un-inflamed takes a little longer to treat cause it's buried deeper. She told me the face products I should use and she has her own line there that's crazy affordable, but she doesn't push her products at all. I got everything she recommended and it was under $100! Which is crazy. Anyway, I've gone in for her custom facial every 3-4 weeks for about 5 months and have had one chemical peel - and I must say I'm shocked by how far my face has come!
