Tracie seated me and immediately cut my hair and gave me a beard trim. She was careful and thorough and I was so pleased with the work that she did and I absolutely had to tell everyone for $35 to get a beard trim and a haircut? You're getting quite a deal environment is pleasant they accepted my Visa card and I would gladly come back in. I walked in and waited patiently for half an hour, nobody greeted me on the way in, very unsatisfactory. I am sitting and I recall looking at the elderly worker cutting a kids hair nice and detailed when he had a buzz cut. I was very upset. The other worker spent similar amount of time on man who was actually bald. After another 10 minutes or so I decided to leave and go home. I brought my son here several times but today was the first day i experienced a horrible job. My thing is that if you feel as though you don't have the skill to cut an African Americans hair just say it. Its more easy to just say or ask me to wait for someone that would be better suited for the job. I could easily say the older ladies name but I rather not. I've been to this Barbershop a few times now. Each time, I've got a good haircut, at a reasonable price. I don't do anything "fancy" with my hair, a simple "5 on top, 4 on sides" will do it for me, but I've seen them do some cuts which look like they would require some skill. This place might get a four stars from me if they accepted debit/credit cards. Nope, this place is cash only. I had to walk down to the corner liquor store to get $20 out of the ATM (while paying a $3.00 fee). I would given them no stars because that's what this place deserves. Recently, they have hired a trash worker who claims to have 40 years cutting hair but can't even produce a straight line. She charged my son $27 for one of the worst haircuts he's ever had. Then proceeds to give a haircut to some other gentlemen and charges him $20!! When I asked her why the difference she only responded with racial slurs and called me every name in the book while making comments about my weight as my 11year old was in the chair next to hers listening to the whole thing. The owner is sweet, but must be truly desperate to hire someone so scummy as this employee. She's in the first chair as you walk in the door looking like she's just smelled cabbage cooking. All the employees are constantly on their cell phones as the customers are getting their hair cuts which probably explains why the cuts come out so bad. On top of that the prices have increased significantly as the service has dropped dramatically. In the past I might have recommended this place but now it has reached a new low. Please look elsewhere, you'll save yourself a headache. read more

I was pretty excited to come here after all the "good" reviews. After stepping in my gut was already telling me to leave but i decided to go against it. The ladies were very unprofessional they didn't even greet me! The was the first strike. Once i walk in and ask if they are still open, the lady(martha) tells me to sit down. After sitting down she asks me what i want. I tell her a fade on the sides and a small combover. I show her a picture of how i always get it cut. My old barber always told me to ask for it like that. After 5 minutes into the haircut i notice that this lady does not understand what a fade is but went ahead to give me the same size cut on one side and somewhat of a fade on the other. Once i notice this i let her know that its looking the same size throughout and that she should make the bottom shorter so it can ve an actual fade. She proceeds to tell me that shes not done and that she will fix that right now. I proceed to the worst mistake so far, trusting her! After 30 minutes on the chair, i realize that my haircut is completely screwed up! I let her know that she doesn't know what a fade is and she confirma that she doesn't by pointing out that on one part its a size two and then a 1.5 a bit lower. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY DO NOT COME HERE!!!! She stated to be with the owner since opening and with her I do not know how this place has stayed open!! Referred here by a friend and though I am really skeptical of places that give cheap haircuts and have a very cheap interior, I gave this place a try. I got Martha- first day on the job (I didn't know till after my haircut) and looked like a pro compared to the other girls. I go in, get seated immediately, and she spends a very good 20/25 minutes on my hair. Pays a lot of attention to details and always checks for evenness among the side burns and around the head. She wasn't trimmer-happy like most hair cutters nowadays. A little scissor action on the top part of my hair and woah, she gave a great scalp massage for like 2 mins. She said she always does that with her customers! And then, as if that wasn't impressive enough, she whipped out the single-blade razor and shaved the back part of my neck, around/behind my ears and down the sideburns. No nicks...impressive. Most barbers won't touch even a safety razor these days. The crew is all Hispanic and females and like to talk amongst themselves in Spanish. No problem here, but if any of you got issues with that, then just letting you know. Great price, great style and $5 tip after. read more

NOT A REAL BARBER SHOP! Got my haircut there today because I waited til last min with my regular shop and was more then disappointed. First off, my haircut was done in 20 mins, I told her to take a half inch off, she took off less than a quarter, she didn't even fade up to my part in my hair - just left long hairs everywhere for me to fix, didn't use a straight razor, and my fade looks like garbage. If I wanted a generic clipper cut I'd go to Supercuts (and probably have better luck). They don't have pomade, only gel. I would highly recommend not going there, even if it's your last resort. This review is on the older lady with the black hair. She had cut my hair once before and it was horrible, but I thought to myself; maybe I wasn't specific enough about what I wanted. I needed a cut badly and since the younger girl with the blonde hair wasn't in, I thought I would give her a try one more time and be super specific about what I wanted. Well, that didn't work either. She did the exact same horrible haircut as she did the first time she cut my hair. It started out great, but the more she messed with it, the shorter it got and the more uneven it got. I don't think there's a language barrier or she's hard of hearing? I just think she does what ever she feels. I was so specific about only cutting 1/4 inch off the top that I physically showed her how much a quarter inch was. Like I said, it started out fine with the sides and the back, but when she went to the top, she took way more that a quarter inch. And its not like you can stop them mid cut because the damage is already done. I let her continue and figured I'll just style it a little different than usual until it grew out again. Well, then she went back to the sides. Specifically the left side. It is so uneven and shorter than the right that I am at a lose for words on how someone with a license could be so inept at cutting hair. She's a nice lady and everything, but just be forewarned that you may not get what you want with her. I'm really disappointed. read more
