My wife is a hairstylist and has been cutting my hair for the past five years, so you could say I've been pretty spoiled. Recently, though, I'd been growing my hair out for about a month and she flat-out refused to cut it. Instead, she told me to find a barber. I'm convinced it was a little revenge, since I refused to cut my hair the week before--which also happened to be our 5th anniversary of dating (and 2 years of marriage). We went to a nice restaurant... and I wore a beanie. Not my finest moment. That's how I ended up booking a same-day appointment with Chuy on 12/23/25, grabbing his last slot at 5:45 PM. I work in Cupertino and got off at 5:15 PM, so I knew timing would be tight. I texted Chuy ahead of time to let him know I might be about 15 minutes late and asked if he could still take me. He was super accommodating and moved my appointment to 6:00 PM. Traffic still got me, and I arrived about 3 minutes late, but Chuy was totally cool about it. He listened to exactly what I wanted, took his time, and absolutely delivered. When he was done, I looked like a completely new person. After the appointment was confirmed and my credit card was already on file, my son received a text from Jay saying that, because it was Christmas, the price was being raised to $55. Changing the price after locking in a booking is a classic bait-and-switch. This is something you'd expect from Ebenezer Scrooge on Christmas morning. It's dishonest, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Customers should be charged the price that is advertised, not whatever number is decided after your credit card is already in their system. I really like the location of the barbershop; you can find plenty of parking and there's a lot of places you can visit in the plaza. I needed a haircut ASAP because I wanted to look good at a party and also look fresh when I get my tattoo tomorrow. I had to see it for myself and can say that they are really one of the best. I recently had Mike cut my hair and he is seriously one of the nicest and knowledgeable barbers I have ever had. I have had many barbers cut my hair, but Mike knew how to handle my hair and was able to fulfill what I asked for and go the extra mile. He also gives a short massage and is good to conversation with! I also really had a good experience with Norm, Zelle, and Vicki. Norm usually cuts my hair but he can get booked, so I suggest booking at least a week in advance. They are all amazing barbers and you won't regret going to anyone in this shop. I came her at 9:45 am for my 10am appointment and was told that Bobby V, my barber, would arrive soon. When it was 10:05 am, they said that he will be a little bit later. It wasn't until 10:20 am that he arrived, without an apology, and giving me a fist bump, all in front of the owner(?) Vicky. When I showed him the hair I wanted, I got the most mediocre haircut that even $7 barbershop would have done better. While I was getting haircut, the barbers were talking about alcohol and going out and drinking alcohol in the barbershop. I've been to many barbershops and none of them has ever been like this extremely unpleasant. Keep your hard earned money and see a professional barber in a professional barbershop. I would recommend Dappers & Dolls, or if you're on a budget then Christine at Sherman Oaks Barber Shop. Edit: look at her reply. This shows you how they address criticism. She tried to call me. Will she threaten me? Don't worry, this is not a jungle. Law enforcement will be notified if she or her crew just hint towards hooliganism. He offered to fix my haircut for free, so I will post an update about that experience and post a new review. *********************************** Well, I don't write reviews that often, but I felt the urgent need to share my experience with Barber Patrick. First, I show up to my appointment 5 minutes early, but I am not seated down until 15 minutes later (his coworker told me he was taking a break). Then I noticed that Patrick was very sick, and his voice did not sound too good. I still stayed and proceeded to get my haircut. I told Patrick I wanted a low shadow fade on the back and sides and to cut a quarter of an inch from the top. At the end, my top and back turned out mostly fine, but my sides got completely messed up. Patrick cut way too high up on the sides when I said I wanted a low shadow fade. I noticed his blunder right away when I looked at the mirror, but I didn't say anything. Looking back I should have said something. He even smirked when I didn't complain about the result. At the beginning, Patrick kept his professionalism and still talked calmly (that's when I noticed he was sick). But then while he was cutting my hair, Patrick was super aggressive and unprofessional. He was using his clippers on my head like a lawn mower, and he would be yelling at his coworkers with his raspy voice. He would yell stuff like "I COULD REALLY USE SOME COFFEE RIGHT NOW!!!" or "I AM SO TIRED!!!" while mowing down my hair with his clippers. He went on and on for a good 7-10 minutes about coffee. He even coughed on me a couple of times. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that something would probably go wrong as a result of the barber's carelessness. Exactly one year ago Patrick gave me the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life. It was so good that I received many compliments regarding where I got my haircut. My confidence was at an all time high, and life was going great. That day he was extremely ambitious and motivated to give me a fire cut, and he spent almost an hour cutting my hair. However for this recent haircut, he didn't care about how the result was going to turn out and wanted to get it over with. He just did whatever he felt like doing and finished in 20 minutes this time. I did not see any ambition or motivation in him that day. Right now I am so embarrassed of my haircut that I can't wait for my hair to grow back to normal. Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience with barber Patrick, and I am hesistant to come back here for a haircut, even though I have gotten 7-8 haircuts in Faded over the last one year. I have no problems when barbers talk to their coworkers while cutting hair, but if it distracts them so much that it negatively affects someone's haircut, then it becomes a problem. P.S. This is a long overdue review! Dave has been cutting my hair for a few years now, and I followed him from his last shop over to Faded. Dave is an amazing barber. His cuts always come out clean and you leave the shop with some extra swagger in your walk because you know you lookin' good. He's also a great person and puts you at ease by being able to engage in friendly banter, converse about whatever random topic is on your mind, or simply be quiet if that's your frequency for the day. The shop itself is clean, air conditioned, all the barbers are skilled at what they do, and they're welcoming of the many clients entering their home away from home. They'll even offer you a cold drink to enjoy while you wait for your turn or are in the chair. Overall, I'd highly recommend this shop to my friends and family and I'd especially send them to my boy - Dave. read more

I barely ever post reviews, but this has to go public for the safety of children and adults. So I found a great barbershop in San Jose, started going regularly, referred some of my friends, they're busy but that's a good sign. Super booked! Don't matter, because they do a great job. Zel & Abel amazing customer service and haircut. I finally booked with Jimmy on October 4th and I liked how he lined-up my beard. I tried to book him in December, but he was busy. I finally got an appointment, Jan 12th, 2022 at 4:45 pm. On the day of the appointment, I hit traffic on 680 and texted him I'll be 6 min late. He said, oh shoot ok, at 4:56 pm he canceled my appointment, I was over the 6 min mark, because of traffic. I pulled into the parking lot at 4:55 pm and got his cancellation text 4:56 pm, tryin to find parking at 4:57 pm I responded, but it was too late. Understandable I was late, he canceled he has other clients. I can wait or reschedule, right? AT THIS POINT WHAT HAPPENS IN A NORMAL SITUATION? You reschedule your appointment or wait or cancel, move on with your life right? Nooooo!! not for Jimmy the Barber!!! Jimmy the Barber keeps on texting me, lecturing me, I responded back saying, FYI just update your website you will cancel in 10 minutes, since that's the policy. But Jimmy keeps on lecturing me, texting me, finally calls me and THREATENS me, "Why don't you come along and see what I'll do to you." WTF?!?! How did a haircut cancellation turn into barber threatening me. Were you ever threatened by a barber for a cancellation. I mean what the hell?!?! Don't barbers deal with blades, sharp scissors, and chemicals. Would anyone feel comfortable in a chair, while a guy who threatens customers and deals with open blades around their neck. This guy deals with children!!! If he gets that mad for a cancellation, go else where!!! If you cancel on him, he might hurt you. He chose to call me and threaten me because there are no witnesses and he specifically stepped out of the shop according to his text messages. I reached out to Vicky who I believe runs the shop. Anyways, I feel bad for her because she is trying to resolve the situation, and totally seems normal and a delight to talk to, but how do you resolve a situation with a lying psychopath, and how can you go to a barbershop where the barber has anger issues over cancellations and threatens the customers. Now he is completely denying he ever threatened me. BEWARE of this guy!!! Freaking nightmare. ADDING THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION AFTER VICKY'S COMMENTS! What the hell are they running, read the text message conversation it's a cancellation whose making a big deal. I am getting lectured and threatened for being late! I admit I was late! But lecturing and threatening is way out of line for a haircut cancellation. Talk about intimidating and bullying customers! read more

Had a haircut from that young kid in there name Luca. requested for combover, hardline, thin out, clean up beard and even showed him a picture. After math I asked him that's what you call a combover? He replies yeah that's what it looks like to me. Even my beard looks mess up. Can't just take a comb and do straight line with machine and think it's good to go. Never again will I come back for a haircut. Lost trust. First and last time. After the cut I was really hoping he would style it and come out close to what I wanted. No where near.
