My level of satisfaction with Louis and Fail Safe Electric Co. cannot be overstated. I bought a condo several years ago with an antiquated Zinsco circuit breaker panel. Zinsco panels are notoriously prone to serious malfunctions and have been known to cause fires. In addition to being a fire hazard, it was out of code where it was located above the kitchen counter. When I decided it was time to finally get this thing replaced, I had planned on getting estimates from several electricians. Louis and Fail Safe were recommended to me by a local HVAC company. I contacted him first to inquire about both replacing and relocating my circuit breaker panel. I figured I'd listen to what he had to say, keep it in mind, and move on to the next estimate. He came out on a Saturday and discussed with me the options, and gave me a price that was well below what I was expecting to pay for such a job. I was sold. No need to get any other estimates. We agreed to move forward. Louis and his guys got the entire job done in a single day, and did a great job cleaning up all the dust after the work was done. The new panel is beautiful and I can sleep a lot better at night knowing I have a safe and up to code breaker panel. On top of this, Louis did ALL of the leg work getting the permit from the village, presenting the plans to the condo board, and arranging the inspection. This went far above and beyond my expectations. At inspection time, the inspector was so impressed with the work that had been done, he said I should recommend Fail Safe to anyone I know that may need an electrician. That's quite an endorsement! These guys are as professional as it gets. I was the annoying customer in a bind calling two days before a job needed to be done and they accommodated that. As a business owner myself, that is the worst to have a customer like me needing something right away. So, not only did they come out when I needed them ASAP. They were also extremely clean, careful and safe. We had them working in our new office and they showed up at 5 am just so they would be done before our customers showed! That's customer service at it best! They cleaned up after themselves. They respected our office as if it was their own. Thank you guys for all of your hard work and help when I was in a pinch to get this done. We were experiencing problems with some circuits in our panel so after checking reviews we decided to call Fail Safe. Louie answered my call and said he could be out in a couple hours to check things out. While diagnosing the problem he found a dangerous situation and was able to get to our village office to secure an emergency permit to replace the panel. He called another guy, I believe he said Joe, to come over and be ready to start as soon as the permit was approved. Between the two of them the electric was shut off around 5pm and service was up and running around 7:45pm. To close the permit we had to call for an inspection and the inspector was pleasantly surprised! He told us they almost always find some kind of problem in their final inspections but Fail Safe did an excellent job. read more

We used Fail Safe to remove an old electrical panel, install a completely new one, and replace some outlets, both indoor and outdoor, that were not working. Louis came right on time the day of our appointment, determined what would be involved in the project, did what he could right then to make sure we could safely use our appliances, and returned within two days to complete the job. He and Jim worked one whole Saturday morning, did the work efficiently, kept us informed about what was going on and when they would need to shut down power to the whole house, cleaned up so that you would never know they were there, and all for the price Louis had quoted previously. Great work and friendly, knowledgeable electrician! I called on a Sunday to ask if they could come out some time in the next two days for an issue with moving the electric behind out dishwasher because we had just purchased a new one that had specific requirements. Not only did the come out the next morning and take care of everything I asked for, but he also fixed a plumbing valve that i would have normally had to call a plumber too. It was a great experience and I am extremely happy with the work and prompt service. A thankful shout out to Louis at Fail Safe! He came to our rescue at about 3:30am 1/30/19 - the most intense polar vortex day. Who knew your house could become unplugged? I didn't, but now I do. (I blame a frostquake, it sounds more dramatic than expansion and contraction) We called as he was just finishing a job, and he arrived within about 20 minutes, and had the problem figured out and corrected within another 20 minutes. Awesome electricians!! I have used them for a few electric jobs around the house and every time they go above and beyond my expectations at an affordable rate. I had Lou out to do a hot tub electricity install. He did an outstanding job running everything. Then, Lou and his electricians did an outstanding job running a breaker box to my garage, hooking up my garage heater, adding 10 additional boxes including two that had to be run through the brick outside, a fan box and some lights. We live in Carillon of Naperville and our builder left us with a problem with our electrical hookup to our A/C compressor. Smaller 10 gage wire vs larger 8 gage, No third running ground wire and the breaker was 25 amp vs 30 amp. Joe from Fail Safe Electric Co quickly corrected all three problems stopping the wires from jumping in the conduit on each A/C compressor start up which made an annoying noise. Fantastic company!! I had called Louis to install a whole house generator. Although it was a difficult process, he made it so easy for us. We had to have a larger gas line installed from one side of the house to the other. He contacted the plumber (who was also great!) so we didn't have to look for one on our own.
