My wife and I absolutely loved The Fainting goat! The gelato was incredible! The customer service was also great! The vibe is very causal and relaxed, which I also appreciated. The space is a little tight for sitting inside, and it can get busy at times. I had the lava cake with a pecan flavored ice cream and it was incredible! My wife had a two scoop cup and it was also very good. This was really great gelato and so glad we tried The Fainting Goat. Like the gelato version of chocolate chip, these finely shaven chocolate bits melt easier with less surface area and blend into the cream. All of them were very tasty making for a tough decision. I finally settled on the goat milk mastic combined with spicy chocolate - great combo! A simple creamy gelato dessert as me and my partner trek the Seattle streets for some fun and wonder! We ended up encountering this lovely establishment after visiting the underground troll statue. Does anyone have the story for why Seattle has dedicated a random troll statue under a bridge? Or is it some natural moment that the city pined as a tourist spot? Lol. Baby scoop is one flavor, small is two and medium is 3 flavors. I got a small with Rose and Rice. Rose 5/5 Was smooth and slightly sweet, not too floral. Reminded me almost of Lychee Rose. Would come back just to get a scoop of this Rice Pudding 3/5 Had a slight cooked rice flavor including some rice for added texture. The staff person was so nice and helpful. I do wish the gelato tasted more like gelato (since we were just in Italy last spring and was comparing a bit). We got the pistachio gelato and the mango sorbet. Both were the best options of what we sampled. Came with two friends. A welcoming but small place in Fremont. Nicely decorated, with two small sitting areas. Easily becomes cramped, with more than three customers. The staff provides great customer service. So, if you are behind any group asking a lot of questions or requesting numerous samples, you will have to wait. Ordered a Lemon Grisbi Gelato, a pistachio and tiramisu gelato and a coffee gelato milkshake. . The lemon gelato was very good, tart and creamy mixed in with each bite. The pistachio gelato was very good. The tiramisu gelato was disappointing. It mostly tasted of a weak coffee flavor. Equally disappointing was my coffee gelato milkshake. The coffee ice cream did have bits of coffee bean mixed with the ice cream. But I wanted a much more full bodied coffee flavor in my milkshake. The coffee taste was a sad afterthought to the milkshake. A very slight flavor, where I was expecting bold. All of our ice creams also melted to mush almost immediately after sitting down. It was thin soup in two minutes. Love the concept and array of flavors. Unfortunately, we wanted to enjoy our gelato for at least five minutes before it became liquid soup. read more

This location is skinny and narrow. The few tables were occupied. Since we were the only customers ordering, we took our time choosing our flavors. The staff was very patient giving us samples. While hubby quickly chose his two, I had a more difficult time choosing my second flavor. Several samples were just too sweet. In any case, still no line behind me, so I asked for a couple more and suddenly found my second. Woot! Anyway, hubby chose chocolate and blueberry & pomegranate, while I chose chocolate and pistachio. The chocolate is FANTASTIC if you are a dark chocolate person. So good! The lemon grisby was more creamy and had what I think was little chunks of candied lemon in it. It had so much flavor it overpowered my pistachio but I'm not complaining! This pistachio was very clean and so delicious. If I had this flavor alone I would have been able to slowly savor it but with the ball sprinkles and those lemon chunks I went into a feeding fuge state and totally gobbled it down. So yummy! Love the atmosphere of Fainting Goat. The walls are covered with event posters and the music is upbeat and loud. There are a ton of flavors to try. We had almond, chocolate, mint and lemon my favorite was chocolate. So dark and rich. The small cup comes with two flavors and they're generous. This was the double espresso and stracciatella. Both are good, and the chocolate flakes in the stracciatella have the right hint of cocoa bitterness. The espresso is the star of this cup which was the small cup. For $6 is a bit pricey but very filling, and I think it's more than enough for one person. Give it a try in downtown Fremont. read more

At my friend's recommendation, I tried this place and was glad to finally find a solid gelato place in Seattle. How did I not hear of this place or seen this place before, after so many trips taking the 40 bus to Fremont/Ballard? Better late than never haha. A lot of places have something that fell short, but here, from the general flavors to the texture, all checked the boxes. I sampled a few flavors including my usual salted caramel (which was slightly salty but also very flavorful), and decided to choose the small cup with 2 flavors: Nutella and rum raisin. The texture is very smooth, no ice at all, very fresh. I really enjoyed the rum raisin of the two flavors I got, with a nice somewhat smoky rum flavor but not bitter at all. Both of the flavors are a little bit on the sweeter side, so it was definitely a cheat meal. It was about $6 for a small cup (it was not small honestly - it was easily shareable among 2 people), which is decent pricing, maybe on the slightly higher end but quality more than makes up for it. read more

We smelt the most amazing waffle, birthday cake, vanilla aroma coming from down the street from the Fainting Goat. We immediately knew we would think about this aroma all day and regret not trying gelato from here if we didn't try it so we headed on in. The line was out the door since it was the weekend of the Fremont Fair but the two parlor people were super friendly and quick. Even while patiently offering samples they are calm cool and collected. I tried the peach gelato and loved it. I sampled the peaches and cream one next and felt the regular peach was much creamier and had the richer taste I was looking for. Something was missing though so I paired it with a raspberry sorbet and it was the perfect duo of sweet and tangy. They had some flavors that I hadn't seen before and if it weren't for the line I probably would have asked to sample everything. The parlor is smaller and the line takes up a lot of room so we grabbed a cup and left like most people were doing but everyone who left with gelato was in pure bliss. read more

They also have a freezer of pints to go, with the flavors written by hand which was cute! We sampled a few flavors, not really liking any of them because of the artificial feel, but felt we should get something, so settled on sharing a baby cup of tiramisu since it was the most accurate flavor. As with a lot of the other flavors, it was quite melty, which is not what I'm going for when I'm ordering a frozen dessert. The girl working there was more apathetic than average, so there wasn't much service. She was fine with letting us try 4 flavors which was nice. We didn't get to finish half of our baby cup before it was too melted to even scoop. We came here for the good reviews, but we were surprised by what we had. I'd give the gelato 2 stars, but a 3 overall for the community feel. I don't like leaving poor reviews especially for small businesses, but hope they can benefit from some honest feedback. read more
