Thanks to Tam's team who were very professional and knew exactly how to help. My car failed a smog test at another shop simply because it had an aftermarket catalytic converter. The tester didn't bother to check whether it was CARB compliant, even after I showed him a picture of the OE number on it. I came here because of the good reviews. This review is for the customer service. Unfortunately, I felt disappointed. The person who greeted me with "what do you need" made me feel unwelcome already but I asked my question anyway which was "how much do you charge for tune up, just a ball park." He answered "depends what you need" and he gave me the "basics" of what needs to be done and quoted me the minimum. Ok I got that. I asked, "ok worse case scenario? What is the ball park?" He said annoyingly "again, I don't know. Depends. What do you need done?" I answered, "I am not sure what needs to be done." I understand why he can't really quote me if he doesn't know what work is involved but wouldn't a good mechanic or good customer service spare a minute or 2 to maybe scan under the hood? I just said " thank you, anyway" and left. He didn't even asked what kind of car I have. There were a couple of cars waiting to be fixed so I am assuming he was really busy and didn't want to waste his time talking to me which is understandable, thus the 2 stars.
