Thanks to Tam's team who were very professional and knew exactly how to help. My car failed a smog test at another shop simply because it had an aftermarket catalytic converter. The tester didn't bother to check whether it was CARB compliant, even after I showed him a picture of the OE number on it. Pro-tip: check in on yelp for a $10 discount to get your smog inspection for only $29.75 (there is an additional $20 charge if your vehicle is older than a certain year because it needs additional tests) Also, it costs $8.25 for the smog certification, which brings you to a grand total of $38 for a sedan. Been going here since 2015, I have an old car 1998 Toyota so it's getting at the age where I get check engine lights pretty frequently (2-3 times a year). I live within walking distance of this place so every time the light turns on I just swing by this place! They do a quick read of the code and tell me how minor or severe the issue is (usually pretty minor). Sonny always takes the extra effort to show me what the manufacturer site says is needed then I just leave my car there and walk home. When he's done he gives me a call a few hours later to pick my car back up. He shows me the old parts in a box and the new parts in the car.
