Took my vehicle down to have them troubleshoot a small issue. They called me up and said it was going to be over $1700 to fix and had to replace all the parts to fix the issue .I took my car to another shop to get a second opinion "they told me that three parts were bad and they fixed it for less than 50% than what Lozano shop was going to charge me.. Lozano shop didn't even bother to troubleshoot The issue down to granule details. They just told me that everything all parts had to be replaced to fix the issue. They were very dishonest, and just tried to upsell me, Im personally sickened by this experience from them being so dishonest it is disgusting read more

Vince, under promises and over delivers. My 91' 300ZX TT was failing smog. I was getting different assessments about the problem from other shops. The problem was festering for months. No one was able to fix the problem. The easy and brain dead answer was "Oh replace the catalytic converters", which the car has two and it isn't cheap to replace. I luckily called World Mufflers and talked to Pat there. Pat another straight shooter like Vince recommend I have Lozano check out the car before I start the expensive process of replacing two catalytic converters which Pat could do easily. When I talked to Vince, he told me, emissions problems are hard to figure out and maybe the problem was the catalytic converts. He asked for 2 days to diagnose the problem as he was quite busy. By the end of the day he had figured out the problem and the car passed SMOG! No need to replace the catalytic converters! A frickin genius. read more

This little gem of a place. I've driven by since 1990's and never once thought to bring my car here till a good friend referred me. My front drivers brake had been clicking for a few years since I replaced the brakes and I took it to the dealers earlier in the year and they charged me an arm and a leg but could not resolve the clicking. I took my car here and they called me back almost immediately to let me know the brake was fine and still in great condition but the clicking was due to a part size and pins that didn't fit exactly correct. There was no need for me to do anything but I needed a piece of mind and paid to have the part replaced to stop the clicking. Not only was it an affordable replacement but I had money left over for an oil change also done on the spot. They saved me a ton of time and money and gave me a piece of mind and also referred another amazing place to replace my tires! This is a wonderful place and you're missing out big time if you don't bring your car here! read more

I went to this place after seeing great reviews. I called a week in advance to booked an appointment. When I went to dropped my car, I was told to bring in back in 2 days. No problem, they were too busy. I said, let's give a 2nd chance. I booked a 2nd appointment a week in advance. When I arrived, I was asked, if I have called before to booked the appointment. Finally they kept my car for 2 days. They never found what problem was. (VERY IMPORTANT) they told me they drove my car for about 15miles and no issues found. I took my car to Lozanos late in the day, but they fit me in despite having to stay late to finish. Paul went out of his way to test drive my car and make completely sure that my brakes are safe and all of my fluids are full. The great part? I brought my car in for an oil change and just happened to mention that my brakes squeak once in a while. He changed my oil and rotated my tires and filled them while he was checking out the brakes. Paul explained the brakes situation to me and made sure that they are safe for driving. He didn't over charge me and he stayed past closing to answer all of my questions. I will definitely be coming back to Lozano's for any more car issues I have. read more

I first went to Lozano - on the recommendation of a friend who is a trusted car guy - when I was working in Sunnyvale. Now, even though I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains, I still make the trip when any family car needs work done. Most recently, we brought my wife's car in to be smogged and they were done in 20 minutes and were more than $10 cheaper than the local smog mill who wanted us to leave the car for a few hours. I also left my car which I've neglected for a while so I requested a full safety check in addition to repairing a specific problem I wanted them to look at. Vince started with a bare-bones quote for the one job that needed to be done for me to drive away safely and when he told me about the other issues he found, he specified how long I could safely go before I would need to deal with each one. Since I had budgeted a chunk of money for work on my car, I kept encouraging Vince to do more of the work now. It was almost like we reversed roles and I was jacking up the estimate while Vince was trying to keep it to a minimum. By the time he exhausted his list of issues that needed attention, the estimate was still under what I had budgeted for the one issue that had initially prompted me to bring the car in. I trust these guys to look out for my interests more than any mechanics I have ever dealt with. read more

My new go-to for my car needs! Paul is definitely a no BS guy. Being a female, I'm always rolling my eyes at mechanics who tell me I need to replace my battery, entire cat, or rotors or whatever when I clearly don't need it. I'm glad to have found this shop close to work so that I can just stop in before or after work to get a quick oil change, etc. It's easy to miss the driveway into the shop so drive slowly on El Camino. There's literally nothing fancy about this place. The office/waiting area is very minimal and could probably use a face lift but no big deal because Paul gets everything done in a timely manner as quoted or sooner. His prices are reasonable. Wow ! They are super cool! I'm a girl and don't know much abt cars! Today Paul helped me a lot. He explained everything for me. They close at 6 but I really needed to fix my car and all the works stayed longer to help me which is super nice. They did a great job with the best customer service I have ever seen in my life. Even they are super busy and obviously there were tried but they helped me. Also the price is fair. The place that I used to go charged me much more!!!!!! Went there because a colleague recommended it. I have an old beatup Ford. Just like my car, the shop is an old school mechanic shop and it is as good as it gets. I went to get oil change and they told me you will have to leave it for a few hours. I was a little surprised as I am used to Jiffy Lube like where you are in and out. Paul told me, we don't do that kind of oil change. They kept the car for about 4 hours and did the oil change in the old school way of allowing it to drip. Charges are reasonable. PROBLEM: Back Latch (trunk) wouldn't open!!! =( After taking my car to Pontiac (my dealership) to try to get this fixed, they were trying to charge me some crazy amount around $550 to fix, I had called everywhere and NO place was giving me a good deal!!... Went down the street from there and found this place!, Not only did these guys save me money, I paid around $250, they are VERY friendly and the experience was just great!!!. Ohhh also Paul was nice enough to check why my engine light was on and realized that there was something wrong with my car (which the place I get my oil change at told me there was nothing wrong). He called Pontiac for me to see if it was covered and luckily it still was, if I would had put another 500 miles I would have had to pay for that part and that would have sucked!!!
