Honestly pretty surprised by how far the rating is for this place - I imagine folks are rating the ambiance and not the food. Food was incredibly mid or even sub-mid. Very cute, modern/semi-industrial coffee shop with plenty of seating. They have traditional coffee drinks but also some unique lattes and other offerings. I really enjoy their Northeast Fog, which is a lavender take on a London Fog, and their banana bread latte. The food is mostly lighter fair like sandwiches and soups, and it's vegetarian friendly. The vibes here are really nice. It's one of the few cafes downtown that stays open past 3pm, which is very important if you need a pick-me-up in the later afternoon! It's also got one of the most spacious seating areas, and there is always some pleasant music playing. Staff are efficient and seem to put great care into preparing the drinks. Faire Market and Cafe has become a new favorite downtown for me. read more

Stopped by for an afternoon pick-me-up and was wowed by the interior! The outside is very unassuming, but the inside is spacious with ample seating. I ordered with ease and enjoyed an iced matcha latte with sakura (cherry blossom) syrup. It might have been because of the time of day at which I visited, but my drink was brought out to my table, which is a pleasant surprise from having to get up and retrieve my drink from a pick up counter. The matcha was excellent quality and, although it did not need the syrup, was wonderfully balanced with the floral flavor of cherry blossom. If you are not interested in coffee or tea, they also have pastries, sandwiches, snacks, and alcoholic beverages. Note: they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. read more

I am staying in Wilmington and wanted a place for breakfast and a cup of tea. I stopped somewhere else, but they were short staffed, so I got my tea to go and searched for another place for breakfast. Faire Market & Cafe was nearby. I thought it was closed when I arrived because it was so dark, but happily it was open. Firstly, the service was great - courteous staff and very fast. I got the toast with the avocado and added an egg. It was flavorful am amply covered with the good stuff. The first place got my tea order wrong, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I was able to order the Breakfast Blend with steamed milk - and it was delightful (tea at its best). Tldr: Good Food, Good Drink, Slow service. Wouldn't recommend for a workday morning coffee but definitely would recommend for a weekend or lunch spot if you got 30-60 mins to spare. Tough to review this place as I have had very mixed experiences here. Faire is typically busiest around noon in the morning it is pretty much deserted, and today I think I found out why. When you stop somewhere in the morning you are on your way to work and typically you can only stop for 5-15 mins. Service at Faire is pretty much always slow, as its staffed by typically one person who takes an order and makes the drink before taking the next order. This would probably be fine if the baristas weren't so slow here. When I stopped by on my way to work I was hoping to grab a quick toast and a latte. There was no one in front of me and the barista was just finishing up the previous customers drink, so very little wait initially. He took my order and I received my drink very quickly, then he continued to take/make the order of the two folks behind me. He then began chatting with his girlfriend and seeing her off. at this point it had been about 16 mins since I ordered and I was half way through my coffee, still waiting for my food. After his girlfriend took off, I went over and asked about my order which he signaled to the kitchen and said oh itll be right up, as if someone in the kitchen was working on it. Clearly he was the only employee here, as I could see into the empty kitchen from the counter - plus it's avocado "toast" with arugla and feta on top this should take like 5-7 mins to make max. From the time I ordered to the time I got my toast nearly 25 mins had passed, and my toast wasnt event toast it was just bread. If this involved cooking eggs or sausage I could understand but it was just untoasted bread, avocado, arugla, feta, and red pepper flakes. Like god bless service employees, but bro I also have a job I have to get too, and a manager to answer to when I show up late because I was waiting nearly 30 minutes for toast. The Ambience here is upscale "organic/granola" instagram type cafe, its empty 90% of the time which I kind of like, and as others have said, looks somewhat closed from the outside and not very inviting. However they make some of the best espresso drinks I've ever had. You can tell that someone there really cares about good coffee, because the drinks (especially given the prices) are really quite great. Service here needs work, not sure whats up with that - workers seem demoralized maybe? Good Food, Good Drink, Okay service - but ultimately if your a cafe and you cant get food/drink out for folks on their way to work (which is why I suspect people are only here for lunch) I cant really rate you any better than just "okay". read more

We drove all the way from Baltimore to check out Faire Cafe because of the hype, and honestly--I left wondering how this place even has good reviews. I'm an espresso martini fanatic, so the menu caught my eye with a few variations. Sadly, that was the only exciting part. We walked in and stood at the register forever before anyone bothered to acknowledge us. One staff member was just roaming around aimlessly, and when someone (who I assume was the manager) finally came over, her energy was straight-up nasty. No greeting, no smile, nothing but attitude. My partner asked for water with lemon--apparently too big of an ask. No lemon? Fine. But how about telling us where the plain water is instead of leaving us hanging? We ordered chicken tenders and fries, which were just okay, but by the time we finished eating, we still didn't have our drinks. When I asked, she brushed me off and said she was making them. When the drinks finally showed up, my "martini" tasted like water and my partner's cocktail was downright terrible. We sent them both back and I got a refund. Here's the thing: mistakes happen. Drinks can be off. Food can be mediocre. But bad energy and nasty customer service? That ruins the whole experience. And in times like these, my tolerance for paying money to be treated poorly is zero. I won't be back. read more

We walked into the Cafe where there were 2 staff members who just stared at us. I was the one who had to greet them. The whole service experience was quite cold and off putting. As far as the decor and atmosphere it is a really cool concept with woven wicker type swings at their bar area. Food wise, my egg sandwich was cold and mediocre at best. The vegan scone was dry and bland, the vegan coffee cake was a little better. Their vegan harvest cookie was actually quite delicious. They saved my stranded Xmas Eve in Wilmington with what is the best chicken sandwich I have EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Chick-filA who? Popeyes what? Nope, this chicken was so well cooked and the flavors on the bun made my mouth dance with glee. I have to give this restaurant a 5/5 for several reasons. The moment I walked in I fell in love with the aesthetic of the cafe! The earthy, natural, holistic feel of the shop with its mix of contemporary furniture and original historic structure of downtown Wilmington automatically ignited a spark to create. The shop still has the original stain glass window which is a beautiful touch. The part you're probably interested in is the coffee, and it's amazing. If you go try the the salted lavender oat milk hot latte and you won't be disappointed! The drink is beautifully crafted; due to the syrups being crafted in house! The staff is pleasant and will answer any of your questions. For all of my fellow coffee drinkers that love a good mix of coffee and spirits - they also have a full bar! Slinked into this surprising little coffee bar late afternoon to find a large, yet intimately cozy place for hot coffee, cold brew, espresso martinis and more. An upstairs mezzanine and a main floor drinking rail with playground style, belt swing seats create an eclectic vibe upon entry. I came in for a hot coffee but ended up drinking a unique espresso martini with absinthe, the "Hurry Up and Go-Go." Downtown Wilmington finally has a grocery! It's a small store, still getting their inventory set up. I love the options for lunch and breakfast, though! You can choose from a selection of toasts, sandwiches, soups or salads or grab something from the fridge. Today I sampled a picked hot hummus which was amazing! A tub is only $2.75, small fresh salads were available for $3.50. Fresh produce and cheeses also available, plus grocery items. Next door is Girard, featuring beer, wine and liquors. I wouldn't call either place cheap, but they're not as pricey as I expected from a downtown spot. read more

Disappointed to say the least. Last week I was driving back to Massachusetts and planned a stop in Wilmington to visit Faire after seeing the beautiful photos and menu on Instagram. We went to the cafe on Saturday morning at 10 am and were shocked when we approached the cafe. From the outside the space looked shut down but somehow inside felt even more deserted and just off. I was reassured when I walked into the cafe I noticed four people sitting at the cafe tables but I then realized these were actual employees, not real customers. The (massive) cafe was empty and employees were reading at the tables and chatting with nothing else to do since they had no business on a Saturday morning. The coffee was alright, food was mediocre at best. Very expensive for Delaware. All I can say is beware of social media, as this place is smoke and mirrors and does not look the same on IG. Very rarely do I walk into a business and can instantly tell it's a side hustle that gets very little attention.
