I couldn't be happier with my stay at the Fairfield inn in Gallup, NM. My husband and I pride ourselves on being Marriott brand loyalists and hold Marriott to a higher standard because we know that's the company they are. We have had a couple stays recently that have let us down and we were starting to get a little frustrated. We stayed for two weeks in Bedford, TX and had multiple problems with staff and housekeeping. We stayed two nights in Palm Desert, CA at Shadow Ridge ($250 a night) and found the staff to be less than competent. This recent stay at the Fairfield Inn in Gallup has completely restored my faith in the Marriott. The hotel was new and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and happy to assist with whatever we needed. The breakfast was great and we were able to sneak in and eat a little before all the families with little ones. The hotel is dog friendly ($25 a night for dogs) which is great. I couldn't be happier. Hands down the best Marriott experience we've had in quite some time. read more

I'm a professional "road warrior" for over 40yrs, this is the best place in Gallup. The hotel is clean, well maintained, quiet, comfy Marriott beds, soft towels, and the rooms have a nice work desk. I'm 6'3" the shower heads are nicely placed, so you don't have to be on your knees while using. Clean baths, with large mirrors and roomy counter space. Comfort height porcelain thrones. The staff is helpful, and courteous, their great. A warm complimentary breakfast is served, waffles, oatmeal, cereals, etc, etc. This is a quality breakfast, not just the usual cheap crap. Additionally, the coffee is very good. Gallup is a train town, get use to the noise of trains, if you don't like the noise of trains, go to a different town. This hotel is quieter than most, but you still hear trains in the background on occasion. It's Gallup,NM for Godsake, there are trains here. Only idiots downgrade hotel/motels cuz they hear trains in this town. read more

If you are looking to stay at a hotel in Gallup New Mexico, I would recommend Fairfield inn. It is the best hotel in Gallup,they have very good customer service, clean rooms and clean shower, And free breakfast. And it is a 2 and a half star hotel but I would say it's like a four. Beware this Marriott charges $25 for early check in. I was here one hour early and they wanted to charge me $25. I decided to sit in the lobby. I have checked into Marriott and hour early and have never been charge. This upsets me very much. As I travel and sometimes get to the next destination early. That is the reason for my three star rating. I am in a king size executive suite. The rooms clean and big and I love it. The evening front desk personnel (lady) was extremely nice and helpful. The one and only downside to our room was that the closet was super tiny. Everything else was perfect! Friendly staff, fridge in the room, they delivered and helped set up the pack & play and a fantastic complimentary breakfast (not just cereal and bagels, but lots of fruit, bacon and salsa to top your scrambled eggs!). read more

We've stayed here so many times, but I've got very bad reviews from our 8/10 stay. I made reservation a week before. We checked in and stayed. Now we're trying to resolve a double billing that they claim I was a no show for reservation. But they charged us $128.00 plus another billing of $134.00. read more

Candelaria was amazing. I had been driving all night and by the next morning I was exhausted. Cadelaria was so helpful, not only did she get me room away from noise so I could sleep bit she also gave me insights on where to stop next for the remainder of my trip duration. Although it's a bit out of town, it's definitely worth staying at the Fairfield. I've now stayed at three different hotels in Gallup and this one is definitely the standout of the bunch. It's new, clean, and people are friendly. The free breakfast is nice (fairly standard for Fairfield if you've stayed in them before). Everything works, and parking is plentiful. Found on Yelp stopped overnite while traveling to California. Called while in route and the person I spoke w was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean with a good bed and pillows. It is a newer hotel which I liked. Breakfast in the morning was good w many choices. Traveling west and stopped in Gallup at the Fairfield. The checkin was quick and the staff was cheerful and helpful. It is May 2018 and the property had a very new and updated feel to it. The beds were great, plenty of towels. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. This is NOT a 5-star resort but it is a great place to stay when traveling I-40. This was just a really nice place to stay. If in Gallup again, I will stay at the Fairfield again. read more

My wife and I arrived late on a saturday night with no reservation. The employee who assisted us was curt and unfamiliar with her role. She was not able to provide the room rates and types available and was not trained to use the computer system. This led to an extensive wait time for us and several others waiting to be checked in. Finally a guy who I believe to be the manager walked in 5 minutes after our attempt at communicating with the employee, he walked her through the process and resolved the immediate issue. We got our room keys asked for a receipt and she told us no, that we could just get it on check out tomorrow. We expressed that we would rather have it now and the manager again resolved the issue. Once we arrived in the room a strange and what seemed permanent odor filled the room, the tv was functional but had a black line through the display as well as a large dark spot on half of the screen, WIFI stopped working after an hour and we were unable to reconnect on any of our 5 devices, and finally the following morning breakfast was sub-par with no utensils,plates or cups being placed out, trash littering the area, and a minimal selection of refrigerated food. None of this would matter if the room was fifty bucks but we paid over two-hundred. I also received an email saying that they will provide a room-charge receipt upon checkout, but they do not give receipts for incidentals... Overall poor experience and I hope you choose elsewhere. read more

Had to stop in Gallup because of a car problem, and got a last minute reservation at the Fairfield. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was a mini fridge in the room, and the front desk people were so incredibly nice! We thought we'd have to stay a second night, but our car was repaired enough to continue to a larger city/repair shop, and we had to leave. They canceled our second night with no problem. It was such a disappointment to have to stop in Gallup in the first place, we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly and sympathetic the staff was. The place is nice and room was clean. The low rating was the result of "breakfast in a bag". I grab 2 bags one for me and my fiance. Front desk ask " How many to a room? " Well first of all, she didn't ask the lady before me. Who grab 2 bags that question. Second we arrived late the night before. And asked front desk if they knew of restaurants that would deliver. Was informed that dominos and pizza hut deliver. They don't have information of either curb side or delivery of local restaurants. In this sensitive time of Covid. One would think such information would be available for those who are not "local". I was expecting a hot breakfast that I would be able to take bk to the room. But that should have been clarified on website or front desk night prior. That no hot breakfast but a little bag of a kids meal is provided. And of course monitored yet they were to be providing a open hot breakfast. Being singled out is just a bad taste of one's character. read more

Wow! Stopped in Gallup on the last night of a cross country move. I hadn't been here in 15 years and was expecting a stop at a Days Inn or Motel 6. I was surprised and delighted to find a Fairfield, even more so when I saw it was brand new. By far this is the nicest hotel I have stayed in a long time. This place is very clean and the staff here are very friendly. The Continental breakfast was good. You had many choices from waffles,eggs, cheese omelet, sausage, Turkey sausage and you also had health option like fruit, yogurt and granola. If we ever come back though Gallup we will be staying here again. This place is kid friendly. One of the newer Fairfield Inn & Suites on our way home to CA from TN. It has a AAA rate which was awesome. This place has great service staff, well stocked breakfast area, and has clean, nicely appointed rooms with many places to plug in one's technology items! Stopped here between Texas and California and had such a great stay that we decided to make it our stop on the way back as well. The front desk employees were extremely friendly and helpful, and made sure we were satisfied. The rooms looked either fairly new or recently remodeled, and were very comfortable. The breakfast had everything we needed. I only wished we could have had a longer stay so we could have utilized all of the facilities. On our return trip, the standard King rooms were all taken, so we asked if we could get a different standard rate room. Instead, they offered a King Suite at the standard rate. THAT is how you surprisingly make a customer happy, and make them want to come back. After traveling for several days checking into this hotel was such a refreshing change from the other hotels that we stayed in. Aaron at the front desk, checked us in and was extremely friendly and professional. Our room was clean, spacious and the bed and bedding comfortable. I love to get a daily workout and the gym was awesome with great equipment, towels and water. The pool was clean and a perfect temperature as was the whirlpool. Both have handicap access chairs. The breakfast bar was above average with many healthy and fresh options. They also have a great kiosk for beverage and snacks. All in all, we were so pleased with this hotel that we would highly recommend. I would be remiss not to mention the very friendly Vivian who we spoke to at check out time. read more

We reserved a king room in advance and when we arrived we were told there was no longer any king rooms available. They informed us that we were moved to a double queen room without any apology, explanation, or discount. When we entered the elevator, and also our floor, there was a very very strong chemical odor. There was no continental breakfast, just coffee. We also were told we could only have one room key because they were low on cards. There was also no luggage cart available. read more

Stayed one night here end honestly wasn't expecting much. But it was REALLY a nice place! Very clean and the decor was nice. The room had everything we needed. The shower was huge! The hotel itself was really nice as well. It made out stop over in NM a very relaxing one. Oh and a free breakfast! Like a full breakfast. Not just juice, bagels and fruit. Came by and wanted to use the restroom. The front lady was very rude and didn't wanted to let me borrow their restroom and rudely reminded me that my daughter couldn't have used it if she had known when she walked in. The good and bad..... This is a very nice and newer hotel. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The bed and room were nice and clean. The bad.... Trains trains trains if you love trains then you couldn't be happier here. There is at least four to five trains an hour that go by. One positive is after dark they stop sounding their horns. Like this hotel. Clean, quiet, and new. Decor is identical to Springhill Suites so I feel like I'm in a time warp. I'm on the road a lot and generally just need a place to rest my head. The beds are really comfortable and there are lots of different pillows, of various densities, to choose from. Breakfast is the same here as any other Marriott but the he lack of a fitness room is a bummer. The hotel is also off the beaten path, so you have to go out for food. read more

What do you do when you are on a road trip and can make it past Flagstaff but don't have the stamina to make it to Santa Fe? You check Yelp and find a place called Gallup on the map. Surprisingly there are quite a few hotels in Gallup and many are nice chains. Being a Mariott reward member I try to book at a Mariott if possible. I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel in the middle of nowhere New Mexico. It seems like a pretty new location. The beds were comfy and the room very clean. We had the breakfast the next morning and it was a great start to our day. There are train tracks near the hotel but they did not use their horns. read more

If I could leave no stars i would. We booked this hotel while driving across country, after a 12 hour day of driving we were excited to get some rest with our dogs. We called ahead to make sure dogs are allowed and they are but only on the first and second floor. We got there and were booked on floor 3? Ok no big deal does suck to bring 3 dogs up 3 flights of stairs tho. Our ac unit would not turn on and we love to crank the ac up at night for noise and for a cold room. We called the front desk and they told us how to use the wall unit...which we were already using correcrtly...they said they would call back to check in on it. No one ever called back and no one cared to show up to give it a look they just aced as if we were stupid. The walls here are paper thin bc I could here the man in the room next to me cough, I could hear his conversations perfectly and his tv. This was on of the worse stays of my life. read more

Hotel is super nice and modern inside it really must be brand new. The room was so clean and lovely I really don't think anyone had ever slept in it before. Extremely helpful and kind staff.
