The guest key is linked to the elevator providing security. You must swipe your key card and select your floor for access. We had a wonderful stay. The facility and grounds were well taken care of. Beth and Joey at the front desk were very helpful. We had a ceiling light and stove light out and the maintenance and engineering tech was very fast, pleasant, and easy to work with (sorry I didn't catch his name) and got it fixed right off. The kitchen worked out well. We cooked a few things and was glad to have a full fridge and freezer. Everything worked well and was stocked nicely. The temperature controls and unit worked well. They have a nice gym, walking path, doggies station, breakfast area, common seating areas and outdoor space. The only thing that was a bit disheartening were a few of the guests didn't always pick up after their pooches. Thankfully there were plenty of waste baggies so I did my fair share of clean up. I am really thankful to have pet friendly places to stay and wish other people did their part. We did have a run in with a guest who couldn't manage their two dogs so word of caution to be alert around other pups. The breakfast was decent with a variety of options such as oat milk, vegan foods, hot oatmeal, bagels, waffles, french toast, eggs, sausage and vegan sausage. Lots of condiments like PB, cranberry, nuts, seeds, juices and more. The staff did a great job cleaning up and keeping the food and coffee stations filled. One family with their young tots made a full blown disaster and I thanked the ladies who came up after to pick up and scrub it down. We had a king size bed with 4 pillows and extra bedding in the drawers. It was very comfortable as I've always slept well on Marriott mattresses. The room had plenty of storage to unpack, an ironing board, and updated outlets for charging. The rooms were cleaned every other day but I did ask them to come more often to vacuum up after the pup. I appreciated them very much. The view to the outside over route 9 towards the Natick mall was nice. It wasn't too loud and I enjoyed being able to see the grounds. The tree leaves were turning color and the ground people did a great job mowing, trimming and keeping the place looking nice. I look forward to our next stay and highly recommend this location. We met some long term stay guest who were also quite nice. Thank you to all the staff for being so friendly and welcoming.

Update (2025): I…read morefirst stayed at Crescent Suites years ago while visiting my sister at Brandeis University, and honestly, I didn't fully appreciate how good this place was until I revisited my notes. Now that I've had more travel experience, I can confidently say this hotel is a hidden gem in Waltham. The apartment-style rooms are fantastic--spacious, clean, and equipped with full kitchens, comfy seating areas, and all the essentials. It's more like staying in a cozy apartment than a standard hotel, which makes solo trips, family visits, or longer stays feel effortless. The service is genuinely warm and welcoming, and the breakfast is a standout--custom-made eggs cooked to order and expertly crafted coffee that beats any run-of-the-mill hotel fare. The location is great too--close enough to Brandeis University for visiting students, but also easy to explore Waltham's Moody Street for restaurants, cafés, and a little local charm. The area felt safe and walkable, and for outdoor enthusiasts, you can hop on nearby trails along the Charles River or Mass Central Rail Trail for some scenic exercise. Bottom line: Whether you're visiting Waltham for school, family, or just a weekend getaway, Crescent Suites hits all the marks. If I ever find myself back in the area, I won't think twice about staying here again.

My husband had a recent injury limiting his mobility, but it was very easy for him to walk from our car parked in their lot and up to our room. Check-in was a breeze. Rachele B. at the front desk greeted us warmly with her winning smile. She was efficient, kind, and covered all the essentials. She is one of a dwindling group of people who know how to do their job well and take pride in doing it well. She takes ownership, treats guests as though they had selected her hotel, and she does her best to try to make them happy and comfortable. I wish every hotel had a Rachele or a Rachele in charge of training.

My shower had some sort of residue on the handle, there was an open safety pin on the floor that I nearly stepped on. I mean, it's not the worst but it needs some attention. In addition, there were sooo many kids in this hotel - what's going on with the kids?! They were in the halls, I could hear them running up and down, some were sitting in the hall outside my door, reading books. I think there were a lot of people living there, maybe a weird timing thing. ‍

The biggest discontent came learning upon check-in that there is a parking charge. I don't recall seeing that on the website or in the correspondence sent to me, but I am not saying it wasn't there, somewhere, at some type size. I didn't think a hotel this distance from central Boston would charge for parking. That added $20 plus tax each night to the bill. There are no microwaves in the rooms. That is something that chains of lower status that Marriott make standard (IHG, BW). There was a microwave for public use--that's right--*1* for a hotel this size (BIG). At least there was only 1 I was aware of, there may have been 1 or more others somewhere else, but they were scarce if there were any beyond that 1. I will say I didn't need to wait any time I used it; I just had to go up and down the elevator 3 flights. I used it 3 times I tried to use the computers in the business office and neither of the 2 they had worked. Someone told me they had been that way for at least 3 hours, since he had first tried to use them. I told various staff about it but the best I got for a response was that was something that "happened sometimes". Someone there might want to check to see if the problems have yet been resolved. This hotel is more economical than staying at a similar hotel downtown, and there is a nearby commuter train station (non-accessible). Getting hotels near these stations can be good money savers for big city visits, but there tend to not be many too close to the stations. The location on the Charles River is superlative, and a lot of the hotel property can be strolled along the shore. There is an adjacent historic park that is directly connected to the hotel that is also along the river. You get great river views from the restaurant too.

The first thing I noticed was that the thermostat was falling off the wall when we walked into our room. The second thing was that the room safe was in a drawer and was not even secured. There are no streaming services available on their in room TV. And I had to call to get shampoo for the shower as it was empty. Horrible experience.

The room was very spacious (plenty of chairs, even a separate sink at the 'kitchen space' which proved invaluable) and clean. The bathroom was great. (But we do need to talk about the toilet's jet-powered vacuum suction which actually made me jump more than once. That's entirely too much power!) Beds were bigger than a twin, smaller than a queen. (Sheets and pillows were... fine.) Minor bummer: we weren't able to control/adjust the air conditioning. The control panel was disabled and it was always on - which was loud and a bit too chilly. Breakfast buffet - limited but surprisingly excellent. (The first day was in a separate/private room and was the better of the times we went.) Pool - good sized (the sign on the wall mentioned a weirdly specific number of "53" people being allowed to use it at same time which I found amusing) and (kind of) warm and not overly 'chemicaled'. (A few weeks earlier we were at another Marriott Bonvoy property and that pool earned an "F" grade.) Major bummer: a parking lot that you had to pay to use. (There were a handful of free/open spots but you have a better chance of hitting the lottery than snagging one of these.) I mean... we're (paying) guests, the room was not cheap - is it that farfetched to expect a place where we can park and not have to get dinged every time we're leaving the lot to explore Massachusetts? Not sure when we'd be back in this part of the country but we'd definitely come back here, for sure.
