I had a challenging night's sleep at this hotel. The air conditioning was as loud as a factory machine, and the bathroom fan was equally disruptive. The queen beds were noticeably sagging in the middle, making it uncomfortable. The breakfast options were average, with salty sausages and salty eggs. Additionally, the orange juice seemed diluted. Room service was mediocre; I asked for an extra blanket, but there was no delivery service - I had to go downstairs to pick it up. (I wanted to upload the video about that air-conditioning sound and the bathroom sound. It seems not working on Yelp)

Check in was easy. They have a little market with some snack items but it wasn't supplied well. I'm assuming because it is Sunday. We only had 2 towels in our hotel. And when we asked for 2 more they said they didn't have any for another 30 minutes. Ok, cool. Can you bring them up? "No, because only one person is working and they don't have staff." So, your fully booked and only one person is working. Doesn't make sense but whatever. Luckily we are only staying one night. In the room there is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Does come with shampoo and conditioner and bar of soap and hair dryer. Room is big and clean.

    Sandwiches.

For the price it's not bad but do not book this if you want a good hot breakfast. They had ham and cheese sandwiches in the package in the warmer and in the other warmer had waffles in the package. Looking for a breakfast place now.

This is our second stay within a couple of months at a Marriott brand hotel and I'm becoming quite impressed with Marriott's vision. We wanted to attend a July 4th party at Lake Lewisville but didn't want to make the 1+ hour drive home at midnight. With that in mind, I chose the closest hotel with the most reasonable price ($80/night, AAA-rate). We would only be using the room for less than 10 hours and I wasn't concerned with anything other than having a bed to sleep in. When I arrived at the front desk to check-in, I neglected to confirm what kind of room we were getting. Which is why we were a little shocked when we figured out we only had 1 king-sized bed. Considering there were 3 of us, this wasn't going to work. I went back to the front desk to change rooms and was told that all of the double-bed rooms were sold out. The desk clerk offered to upgrade us to a suite, but informed me that there would be a slight price difference. Since this was my mistake, I was totally willing to pay the upgrade fee. I just needed a bed for my kid. The clerk went to speak to his manager and when he returned, he upgraded us to a king suite. For free. That's right...for free! Score! Our room fit our needs perfectly and actually went above and beyond what I was expecting. *The bed was so comfortable (I'm finding this is the trend with new Marriott hotels-so nice) that we almost felt like we were sleeping in our own bed. *We had 2 TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, which meant the kiddo got his own TV. *My biggest complaint with hotel rooms is the tendency to lack proper lighting in the bathroom. This bathroom had a wonderfully bright light (not so lovely at 3am) that would be perfect for putting on make-up. *The continental breakfast had the usual standard fare, but also had microwaveable breakfast sandwiches that made my son oh-so happy. Which makes me a happy mom. *The hotel has a pool and fitness room, but we weren't there long enough to use either. Good to know, though! The only kinks in our stay were that we didn't figure out that the A/C controls were on the wall next to the bathroom rather than on the A/C unit itself (my boys froze, I was in heaven) and the coffee maker doesn't have a coffee pot, you're supposed to use the coffee mug that they supply. All in all, this was a lovely end to our July 4th festivities. And the wonderful customer service that I continue to receive at Marriott insures that I continue to give them my business.

I recently stayed here during a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located and the staff at check in was very friendly and professional. The room was clean, however the walls were very thin and not soundproof, so I could hear a lot of noise from the hallway. There was a refrigerator in the room but no bottled water. I was too tired to go to the reception and ask for some water, so I think it would be a good idea to have some water in the room. For over $230 a night, this is a miss. Also, the bathroom amenities did not include a shower cap, which is very inconvenient since the shower head was not a detachable one.

At The Cascades the exterior is upscale, well maintained and you can enter it from the main door or from the hotel lobby. The interior is modern and neutral. And by neutral I mean they don't force some goofy theme on you or drown you in western references to constantly remind you you're in Texas. Tacky. And because it's still considered new, everything is in great shape and feels clean. The ballrooms and meeting rooms are what you would expect for a hotel. They can accommodate groups of various sizes and I believe they can even do outdoor setups for weddings, etc. The staff are all polite and helpful. They offer easy set up for computers, screens, etc and have staff on hand to help with "technical issues." Overall I was impressed.

What should have been a joyous occasion was huge disappointment. Can't re-do my son's rehearsal dinner and then made to feel I was lying just added to the frustration with this place. Don't book anything at this hotel.

Second floor is mostly seating and a couple bars. Third floor mostly bars and some seating. While waiting for my party to arrive I sat at the second floor bar, Heaven Hill, and ordered a couple cocktails. The bar tender, a pleasantly upbeat woman, educated me on the various food options as well as some of their favored cocktails. I had a raspberry beret (shoutout Prince) and a Larceny Paloma. The name was just calling me. While the beret was fruity and refreshing, the Paloma had a bite and kick that snuck up on you. I loved it!! As it's a mall of food there was no trying just one lol. We tried the dry rub brisket bar, chef chin's hibachi ramen, chilango's tacos, cotton and snow, and unlawful assembly brewing co. To finish the evening. Brisket with Mac and cheese; burria tacos; tonkotsu ramen; cookies and cream ice cream; and lastly a Moscow Mule to end the evening. The Mac and cheese from the brisket bar was terrible. Runny, and bland. But the brisket was amazing. Seasoned and tender and so moist!!! Tacos were exceptional. Ramen was awesome. Ice cream was ice cream. It wasn't bad, but not eye popping amazing. The mule was delicious. I ended the night stuffed and sleepy!! Great visit!! If you're in the Plano area this is a must!! And there are tons more eateries.
