Upon check in the staff was so so, as they could have been more pleasant. At one point I said hi to a front desk employee and he looked and didn't say anything in response. My room was very clean and refreshing with a decent view. The bar staff was very friendly and they offered a nice array of drinks, they were very refreshing and delicious. They offered breakfast and dinner service, at a fee. The hotel was very convenient to alot of restaurants, stores and the airport. I would stay again, besides some of the unpleasant staff.

Breakfast is available but wasn't included with my room. That said, they had complimentary coffee and Happy Hour specials at the Bar. My King Bed Room was a good size. A microwave in addition to the mini fridge and safe was a nice touch. I liked the Shower sliding doors vs curtains. Fitness room had all the Cardio equipment as well a weight station and Dumbbells. Indoor pool was more for the kids vs for Laps. Parking is free. A good selection of stores and restaurants nearby. Check-in was easy/quick and I got lucky and was able to check-in early (11:30) on a Friday. Service was friendly and upbeat. Great option close to Newark (EWR) and will stay here again.

But if you're here on business or expect to get online, expect not to. Hotel WiFi sucks, even if you pay for the upgrade. But even my personal devices wouldn't work or lag, and my devices are on multiple cellular suppliers, so it wasn't like I was only using Verizon and that had an issue. It was all of them, must be a bad dead spot in the hotel property. The heating and AC sucks also, one room I had had a window unit not installed properly so I had a ton of bugs flying around the room. Other rooms I stayed in either was way to cold or to hot, thermostat are so primitive so they just basically hang on the wall. One of the maids, total smoke show!! If it wasn't for the WiFi be so bad, I would stay just to hook up with the maid

Our room was decent, but it felt a bit dirty, and the shower was even worse. There was rust around the drain, which made the shower look and feel unhygienic; it needs to be cleaned or repaired. We had breakfast the next morning, and while the food was acceptable, I would recommend going to a local breakfast spot instead. Overall, I would suggest staying here, especially if you need to catch a flight to Newark.

Staff was friendly. 1 star off: Even though the hotel is located in a residential area, there was still quite a bit of street noise. The walls were thin and either construction noise or a neighbor's alarm woke me up every morning. Breakfast was included. There was a Starbucks conveniently located right in the lobby, i.e. you can roll out of bed and get a coffee without putting on the whole gear to go outside in the cold. Happy hour occurs every afternoon, and upon check-in, I was given a few drink tickets. I didn't end up using them, but it was a nice add-on.

There was also a large Christmas tree outside when I walked up. Now for what's the same as in get past... omelette bar! Complimentary hospitality hour with adult beverages and snacks (be sure get a ticket at the desk if you check-in on the app), large spacious rooms and bathrooms with modern updates! I love the proximity of this hotel to the Newark airport (around 25 minutes away). I also love that there is a Starbucks and restaurant (grain and cane) downstairs for convenience. I took advantage of both for an evening beverage (they Starbucks closes at 6pm) and dinner. This hotel is located in a quiet business area and I love that there is ample free lot parking which I've found to be quite rare with Jersey hotels! The front desk staff are very nice and even took the time to ask how my dinner was! This also seemed to be a very popular wedding guest hotel based on large groups I saw checking in and wedding guest gifts behind the desk. I'll be sure to consider this hotel as an option next time I'm in the area, especially before a flight out of EWR.

Good choices of eggs, pastries, waffles, bacon, potatoes, etc. Parking was free and convenient with decent sized lot. Safety wise, it's on a busy street and location seems great. They had to provide us two fans, and then eventually move us to two different rooms on the fourth floor because the rooms were not cooling down at all. When we finally got a room that had working AC, the internet was not working, so we couldn't watch anything on the TV. The towels in the first room we were checked in had stains on it. When we asked for more toilet paper, none came - we had to go to front desk to get it. There were flies in two of the tree rooms they transferred us to. Flies are not attracted to clean surfaces, so something unclean is attracting the flies. The doors wouldn't lock. You had to slam it hard, if not, a small push will open your door, no key needed. And this is true of all three rooms they put us in. That is a serious security issue! Guests who leave their room and hear the door close may leave under the assumption their stuff is safe. The maintenance guy who didn't fix our AC accused us of having too many people in our room...said he saw 8 people in the room, we had 4. When we found out what he accused us of, we asked for the manager's contact information. The manager was not there, so the staff wrote down his email address. A quick Google search showed that the email address the front desk gave us was not right. When I emailed the manager, I copied corporate. Corporate Guest Services did apologize for what we endured, but not the manager. The lack of response from the property manager reflects poorly on the Hilton brand and explains the lack of professionalism from the staff. This by far is the worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed in plenty across the US), and I will make sure to post this on every review platform. UPDATE SEP 10, 2026: The manager emailed me on 8/20/2026 and asked for my contact information so he can speak with me directly about our stay. I replied the same day with my contact info. It has been three weeks and no call-back. Speaks VOLUMES to the type of manager he is that it is taking weeks to call back a customer (if he truly intended to call back). To the credit of the Hilton Honors brand, they did reward me some points to my account by way of apology for the maltreatment and inconvenience.
